I think this will bring out the Skritt in all of us.
I am a hoarder extraordinaire and I love getting achievements so this sounds just perfect for me. Bring it on, I say
I might be confused here but you cannot change your email yourself. Support has to do it.
You need to contact Support (top of page).
I think a good middle ground is to make adept traits free, and lock master and grandmaster. That gives people something to work with, and lets them play around with traits, while still giving them something to work for.
Yes, please. That would work for me.
I think I will pass on this one and I am a fervent supporter of convenience items. I seem to remember a fair bit of negativity when the copper-fed salvage kit made its appearance and now everyone loves it. Maybe, once the dust settles, the silver fed one will be found useful.
Happy birthday and thank you for the many happy hours your game has given me.
If you had deleted your elementalist, as many people might, you would have no gift at all.
Welcome Gnark. I hope you enjoy your journey through Tyria as much as I do.
Sorry I realise it is alarming and stressful when these things happen but I doubt if anyone will contact her. She will need to contact Support (link top of page).
I opened 25. I got over 10 scraps and a full ticket, one extra key, several leveller tomes, one total makeover kit, other junk. No minis though
Actually, as a card carrying hoarder, there is a small part of my brain that silently approves of having 11 Jennahs (eventually 14). I will even admit to sneaking into my collections sometimes just to check that they are all safely tucked away there and not lost in someone’s inventory. I think that the person who approved the decision to issue the one mini to all birthday celebrants must have been a fellow hoarder and he/she has probably been rather perplexed at all the grumbling when they thought everyone would be delighted. That is, of course, if it wasn’t some stressed executive with too much work and too little time who just wanted to get the job done.
So, I will be happy with whatever Anet gives us for our second birthday. I would totally approve of another 11 (eventually 14) Jennahs with a different coloured dress (be still my beating heart).
Aw that is a wonderful tale Ardyth. There are many thoughtful and helpful players in this game and it is fantastic that you ran into one so early in the piece. Hopefully it will set the tone for your journey through this wonderful game. It is generous of you to write of your experience too as it gives us all a bit of a warm glow in sharing.
Welcome to Tyria.
Nicely written, Evon. Very thoughtful and wise. I hope you plan to use your talent on writing stories one day. If it is a goodbye post, then I wish you well and hope you will return one day.
I think it would be there and you would see it. Sorry. Sounds like a job for Customer Support then.
The chests bounce at the bottom right corner of your screen. It is possible to choose to open it later and maybe you clicked on that without realising. Have you checked in your Achievement Panel? It could be waiting for you. Hope so.
…
But back to Taimi, if she has anything to worry about, its Rox. She is getting on her nerves.
I noticed that too and I must admit, I am with Rox on this. Precocious children are not my favourite beings and Taimi ‘s ’cuteness’ is wearing thin for me.
I think she is a danger to herself and the team because she is still a child with a child’s lack of life skills and plain common sense. She may be bordering on genius level but she does not have much in the way of wisdom.
No
I have finished the achievement and do not see the coins but my friend, who still has four to find, sees them all. It must be a bug with some accounts.
My pet peeve is the use of ‘then’ when the poster means ‘than’.
Spelling and grammar come easily to me (not that I am perfect) but don’t ask me to add up a column of figures and get the same answer twice
I actually like it and I usually prefer realistic art work. It looks to me like the sort of view you would get if you turned your head quickly – impressionist style art. I think it might be the view the people on the ship first saw as they crashed.
Amazing photos, Evon. I am not good at jumping and not very daring but I climbed up a big vine thing yesterday. I think it is the same one in your first shots. Happily I did not fall off. The view was stunning.
I like the axe on the ranger – good when there are lots of enemies about as it ricochets off one skull to the other.
You need to submit a ticket to Support. See the link on the top left of the page.
I would hope never for Kodan. They seem a thoughtful, noble race. I just don’t want to see a stately Kodan reduced to bunny-hopping around or incessantly shooting his bow in the bank in Divinity’s Reach.
My IMac is late 2012. It is an i7, 3.4 GHz with Nvidia GeForce GTZ680MX 2048MB.
For the most part, GW2 runs very well. The graphics are superb on the big shiny 27" monitor. The only real problem I have is when there are very large groups of players, such as in WvW or at a world boss. I have to lower my graphics settings then to ‘best performance’ or inevitably I will find myself facing the desktop with my game bailing out.
Thanks for sharing. Very enjoyable and informative.
Thank you. I am just starting to explore ascended crafting so your spreadsheet will be very helpful.
14 characters
13 L80’s and 1 L70
1 100% map completion
1 @ 88%
10 @ 60-70%
2 under 40%
(guess who keeps a spreadsheet)
I do intend to finish all the maps on them all if I don’t run out of puff first. I enjoy exploring and I vary the maps I visit and the characters I play every few days so I don’t get bored. Not so keen on getting the WvW maps. I am not good at killing my fellow players and feel more of a detriment to my side than anything. I wish Anet would rethink this requirement.
Saving the refugees was my favourite bit too.
Although it was sad to see, I loved that Anet was brave enough to lay waste to the game’s main city for the sake of the story. It made it all feel so real.
Maybe the OP really did quit and his new game coincidentally patches a lot. This could be his inaugural complaint post. He just got his forums mixed.
Thanks for sharing. Made me smile.
Zaxares, you are probably right and I will buy it even if it is the hated Thresher. There really is no going back to using the merchant tools once you have been spoilt by the infinite tools.
I hope it is the Consortium sickle. The Thresher is annoying to me.
Have you tried clicking on the mini map and scrolling in? It could be that you have adjusted the view without realising it.
Beautifully put and I agree. I am extremely grateful that I was coerced into trying it out back in February last year because I have been hooked ever since. I dread the day I feel there is nothing left for me to do because I can’t imagine another game measuring up to this one. I hope though, that when that sad day comes, they take me out and shoot me before I make an ’I’m bored’ post on the forum.
Today at the end of the baby dolyak race there was an extra special treat for everyone.
Someone in chat said it was the provider’s birthday.
Thank you to the unknown caterer and if it is his/her birthday, then many happy returns for you or your character.
Got to love this community.
Lovely photos. I recognise your third photo as that beautiful hidden area in The Grove (I think). I was so amazed when I found it. Such a gorgeous place tucked away like that. It is a beautiful game for sure.
I had great memories of the Zephyr Sanctum from last year and this year’s did not disappoint. If anything, it is better with the baby dolyak race. That is the cutest thing ever and makes me smile. I love the incredible views, the kindnesses shown by other players and the whole party atmosphere. Everyone seems to be in a good mood while they are there. I will miss it when it goes but at least we get to keep it for a bit longer yet.
Fifty-three rings a bell for me too though I am not sure where I read it or if it is accurate. I have done the achievement thanks to the Dulfy site but I have only found one that was not on her list. I would love to know where the others are hiding.
I took in a new character yesterday to complete the city and yes, it sure is different. I believe the vistas have changed again from a few weeks ago when I helped a friend with some of the relocated vistas. I still feel sad in there remembering how it once was but it is great that it is coming back to life again and I love how Anet is treating the restoration as a work in progress.
I agree. It is fun and funny too. I love seeing all the little dolyaks even if I am not participating.
Great idea Charak. It is a bit of a dog’s breakfast the way it is.
I do have difficulty sometimes distinguishing the healing turret’s purple beam from the particle effects of the mesmers’ skills. I have my graphics turned down way low in the Pavilion so maybe that adds to my problems. I do see the healing turret eventually and get to it as fast as I can but I would probably see it a lot sooner without all the purple and pink beams getting in the way.
I don’t have any first hand experience so this is just a guess and based on what I have read here. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in and correct anything I get wrong.
A rollback will take you back to a snapshot in time so whatever you had then, is what you will get. This would include your characters, achievement points, inventory and so on. Anything you have done after this time which obviously includes what you do in the game right now, will be lost.
Anet does not recover guild bank items so unfortunately they are lost forever.
I highly doubt you will get compensation for anything you have lost. Anet’s gift to you is recovering and rolling back your account.
Account hacks really are the pits. A shame we have to share our world with such dishonest people.
My character has net pattern imprinted on her face. Better than stones and pebbles from last year
Yay for the safety nets.
The lightning jump is hit or miss for me too but then it was the same for me at last year’s event. The main problem I have is with those three platforms where you jump across heading towards the top end of the map. I have found that targeting the very edge (facing towards my character) and barely on the surface of the platform seems to work for me – well 90% of the time anyway. Thankful for that safety net though I have managed to miss even that on occasion. I just wish we didn’t lose all those aspect skills when we die.
I don’t think people will use mounts for the speed boosts or to cut waypoint travel. My guess is that the majority of mounts will barely ever leave Vigil Keep. Their owners will preen while they chat to their friends on their big pink and purple winged creatures or take off and land in a flurry of feathers, shooting sparks or rainbow glitter. Grumpy, unimpressed players like me will sigh and go elsewhere to do their banking.
I have right clicked and reported every gold spamming message I have ever received and I haven’t been hacked.
I am sorry you have been hacked but I am certain it was something else that led the hacker to target you. Whoever is telling you that right-clicking to report is risky is either ignorant, malicious or is following their own agenda.

Older player here too who remembers Pong, Commodore 64s and the days when digital watches were ‘the’ must have fashion accessory.
My friend and I graduated from Sims 2 and 3, through a browser MMO then onto Guild Wars 2. We have just recently dipped our timid toes into WvW and are enjoying it much more than we could have imagined.
Nice to see so many mature people play this game. I have to say too, that the names I recognise in this thread are all people whose posts I enjoy as well.
