I love this idea. I wonder if we could take it a step or two further and maybe add an emergency beacon or whatever for the downed player to activate. That would alert any would-be rescuers who could respond.

I would also like it if there was an achievement tied to it. I realise we already have combat healer but maybe something a step above that.

You did nothing wrong, it is a bug. There is a thread about it in the Bugs section but I have also had it confirmed by Support. I had the same problem yesterday. A fix is being worked on apparently.

It’s for a collection. It would be under your Achievements/Collections tab and all your characters would be able to see it.

There are many collections in the game. You unlock them and then, if you are lucky, you may get one collectible in a drop somewhere and your collection can then start. There are small gifts for filling a collection. In your case, I guess you have to buy, or get awarded, different sorts of Priory amor or weapons. I haven’t done that one so I am not sure.

GW2 on the Mac is pretty dire. I use El Capitan but I used to use Mavericks and I remember problems with that too. In fact, I remember upgrading to El Capitan and hoping that it fixed some GW2 problems. It didn’t.

From my perspective it seems that GW2 is just getting worse on the Mac. When I first started playing, back almost three years ago, I could play happily without a crash and with lovely graphics as well. The game has got much worse since then. At first I could cope with just turning the graphics down a bit but, these days, I play with the absolute lowest settings and I am still likely to crash after a big event.

I don’t think it is our operating systems so much as the fact that GW2 is getting bigger and we are restricted to only 32 bits. We get out of memory errors and then crash. You will see that there is a 64 bit version for the PC crowd as they were also experiencing the memory errors. Unfortunately it does not seem to be possible for Anet to provide us with a 64 bit version.

I am sure there are people there using Yosemite Mavericks and still having issues.

How rude. For some of us, the convenience is worth it. I have a lot of characters and do not want to have to call at the bank to pick up gathering tools or salvage kits. I want the ease of playing who I want, when I want and right where they are. My money is my own to spend how I want and on whatever pleases me.

I was refunded on the last three copper fed salvage kits I bought. I do not know what the time frame is but mine were all bought within the last four months. It is worth asking for a refund if your purchases were recent ones.

I think it is healthy to take a break from a game now and then otherwise we get burnt out and bored. I too had a rest from GW2 for about eight months and now I am truly loving it again. I can’t wait for gliding in Tyria either.

Don’t know about Season 3. I don’t know if much has been said about it yet.

But it wouldn’t be like starting from scratch. They already have the game up and running. It would be converting it from one platform to the other and then updating it and maintaining it.

I have to admit, I know nothing about the expense involved though I know any sort of IT programming can be expensive. I also have no idea how many of their customers use the Mac either but a bit of self-indulgence is good for the soul.

If ANet is planning on GW2 running at least for the next 10 years, it might be not be so outrageous to do a Mac version.

It won’t let you use a password that has been used before from what I understand so there is no way your’s would work. If you just complicate it a bit more, maybe spelling it slightly differently or add some symbols it may work. Then again, you could try something completely different too. Good luck.

I like all these ideas. As someone who has had the experience bar stuck a few times, when I had spent my mastery points and needed more to progress, it was frustrating to know that my experience was going nowhere. I really wish we didn’t have the divide between HoT masteries and Tyria masteries. That seems an unnecessary complication to me. From my own (selfish) point of view, it would have been great if those experience points could have been filling my HoT bar instead.

I really hope we get more mastery points added to the game. I liked the system we had at one time where you had to kill particular bosses to obtain certain skills. I never did get to do many of those but it was something to work towards.

Yay. Super stoked about this. I can go ahead and invest in different gliders now. I didn’t see much point if they were just confined to HoT lands.

Gliding in Tyria will be a great incentive for people to invest in HoT.

Plus they will come back tainted if they do come back. It is possible too that they will have lost any friends they had and perhaps their guild might have thrown them out as well. Who would want a cheater as a friend or guildie? They will have their Winters Day shoulders (if they get to keep them) in your summer. I don’t think anyone will be impressed.

If you are talking about your display name i.e. Giomantero.5103, then no. There are reasons for this which you will have to search for if you are interested but cheaters and people with bad reputations hiding behind a name change comes to mind. There are unusual circumstances where it can be changed. For instance, if you use your full name which would identify you and there is a security risk for you, then ANet will probably change it. Likewise, if you choose an offensive name, ANet will change that without your permission.

Your account name is the email address you used to register. You can change that, through Support.

I actually got this achievement yesterday at the Tequatl fight during the dailies switchover. I was standing just in front of his left foot and a vortex appeared just to the left of me. The vortexes were announced in the voice over so pay attention to that. Good luck.

The other day when my game wouldn’t start, I checked out the Activity Monitor and found that both my mouse and GW2 were in red and unresponsive. I cancelled both out and then tried loading GW2 again and it loaded. I believe someone else suggested checking the Activity Monitor on here but I can’t remember who it was. I will be checking it from now on instead of restarting my computer.

Make sure ‘use scrolling gestures’ under Options is unticked.

Some people’s Options seem to have been reset since the patch. Mine stayed put but it seems to affect others.

I think I can answer the mouse scroll wheel question.

Under Options and the First Choice (General), make certain ‘use scrolling gestures’ is unticked.

These are two of my other Asuras. Sadly, I do not have a lot of nice photos. I mostly play solo so most of my photos are taken at vistas or skill points or other noteworthy stuff.

The first is Trixie (my thief) in old LA. I know she is just a dot on the horizon but people might like to see the old buildings again even if they are damaged. I miss how LA used to look.

Next is Trixie up close just because she is cute.

Then my fiery little elementalist, Persephone looking for coins in Dry Top.

I have four Asuras now which is amazing to me because I swore I would never have one ever when I first started playing. Ha. What did I know then?

My first though is Nola and she still has a special place in my heart.

You certainly should be able to play it as I have the same set up though I only have 8GB Ram. GW2 runs on my computer even if I have to lower the graphics down. It is not the best on the Mac these days.

Sometimes GW won’t start on my computer either. I am not sure why it does this but if I restart it always works the second time. I am sure you must have tried that though.

I was the same. I took a break for about eight months and one of the first things I saw on my return was a player wearing the black wings. I was stunned. I had to get a pair.

Finally I managed to nab some white wings but it has taken me months to finally get the right character to wear them. I now have my tall, blonde haired Norn revenant. She looks like a gigantic albino moth but I don’t care

They have been back in the gem shop a few times now but I am sure they will be back. They are very popular.

Well I know with my friend that her character is often visible at the way point well before she can actually see it has loaded. I don’t know how the game treats that. I can see her and other people could see her too. I guess the bad guys as well.

I don’t know enough (mostly nothing) about it though so maybe someone else will chime in with a more sensible idea.

I wish it would happen to me so I didn’t have to go through it. (I just do it for the dailies).

My friend, lives in the US, but she has horrible lag. It takes forever for her to waypoint sometimes and today she landed in Verdant Brink, dead. Maybe your deaths are caused by lag as well.

I can understand a delay to the Trading Post and converting gold to gems but I do not understand why you can’t access Heart of Thorns content. Have you contacted Customer Support?

For favourite, I would probably choose Timberline. I just love the scenery there. I still have a soft spot for Queensdale though.

Least favourite, and unlike the OP, I would chose Fireheart Rise. It just reminds me of drought and bushfires. Plus you can’t take three steps in that place without something trying to chuck rocks, bite, sting, burn or otherwise do you harm

In a previous game I played, quitters used to make videos of themselves destroying all their characters gear. It was a very grindy game so the videos represented destruction of months and months of hard slog. They really had shock value.

They were the real deal macho quitters.

I wish there was a gathering tools refurbishment or makeover store where you could remake the tools you bought in a moment of madness to one more to your liking.

I hope you got your kits back, OP. I know it is not much money but you are entitled to Support as much as the next person who might eat up hours of Support’s time and could be a liar and a cheater. Just my opinion anyway.

I will admit that I once bought the wrong mini and asked Support for help. It was all of 30 gems (they were at a reduced price). I did feel cheap and embarrassed when I worked out how much it was in real money. By the way, Support refunded me the gems

When I was a kid, I once complained about a present I got from an Aunt who had returned from overseas. I wanted the present my sister got instead. My mother took my present off me for being ungrateful and I didn’t ever get it back.

I have not complained since. Well maybe when my husband gave me a yoghurt maker and I don’t especially like yoghurt but I just muttered to my self.

I play on Best Performance these days. I can mostly puddle about completing maps. I switch over to my Win laptop when my game partner is online and we want to do interesting stuff like HoT content. It is not just that the game is ugly and not much fun on the Mac, but it is embarrassing when I crash and have to reload several times in a playing session. If I didn’t have access to the laptop I would probably quit this game and all ANet’s Club Med holidays would have to be funded by someone else.

Don’t worry too much about your gear. You will do just fine. You can pick up gear from killing mobs or doing bosses. If you do your story, you get rewarded with gear but mostly, you do not have to worry too much until you get to the later levels. You could even craft your own gear though it is difficult when you first start because you won’t have many materials. You can buy low level clothes for a minimum amount on the Trading Post too.

Hint: Gather plants, chop wood and harvest the ore. You can always sell it if you don’t want it but it is good to start your collection so that you can craft later if you want to.

One of my characters finally completed her world map but instead of the World Completion email, she received another Dry Top Exploration email.

I have reported this to Customer Support and they have kindly sent me the appropriate rewards but they also suggested I post here.

It is not all Australians though as my ping has an average of 216. Sorry, not trying to rub salt in your wound or invalidate your complaint. I play on a Mac so I have a different set of problems

Perhaps it is your ISP. Could you contact them and ask what you can do to improve it.

I think the sight of another player effortlessly gliding above you in the non HoT lands might help sell the expansion to the people still sitting on the fence. I know I would be choked with envy.

Contact Support. They can check to see if anyone is logging into your account or not. Sometimes, the error messages can be wrong so it might not be a hacker at all but best for Support to answer this.
