I agree, using a rifle on a Warrior? That’s a hilarious joke!
Instead of nerfing they should find a spot where one class feels like it’s good and then they should buff all other classes to be on par with that one class in that spot which feels good. Warrior to me feels good as it is, so they should get other classes on par with the Warrior.
That’s called a power creep, and is a horrible thing in MMOs. Nerfs are a necessity.
Good points, Thaddeus. Seems like CM needs something to sweeten the runs, maybe a guaranteed dye drop with the daily chest?
You can get rabid gear from CM. Salvage exotic tier stuff for inscriptions. Not a great amount of reward for the work but it helps.
That being said I think CM is pretty kitten easy, dunno why people think its hard at all.
Ditto, plus the thief bags that may drop the rapier.
I run this with my thief which makes things extra easy, yet this is the dungeon i get the most inexperienced players and by “inexperienced” i mean “lets agro everything even though we have a thief”
“RNG” drops shouldn’t really be implemented as the possible reward. As I said earlier in the thread, I run this almost daily (all 3 paths) and I’m yet to receive a Bonetti’s Rapier.
I wish I had a group that does CM daily. ;_;

Plague, the path 2 recipe is one of the most valuable in game, it usually trades places with the bloodstone shard for being the most valuable recipe. Most people don’t like to or don’t know how to fight Turmaine,. though.
He absolutely is a pain in the D. You basically need to exploit by trapping him sadly. People too accustomed to the barrel thing (which was a lot of fun, never forget!)
There is a noticeable reward for CM p3. The recipe for the last boss, if you can get it, allows crafting of a dire stats accessory that sells for like 6g+.
I had this drop, but as the item not the recipe and I have no clue why …

I personally had a theory of her attacking an elder dragon for a short while, and when we were able to set foot in the secret lair almost confirmed it from the red dragon on the cave wall. Combine this with the knowledge of LA as a “target” signals Primordus, not Mordremoth, as, correct me if I’m wrong, It is the Elder Dragon that sleeps deep, deep below LA and not Mordremoth.
It personally feels “too obvious” to be Mordremoth, and for that reason is a red herring.
I’m sure we’re finding out next update.
I use S/F for the purpose of keeping the party with plenty of might at a high uptime, just like most Eles.
It has a longer field field, and the blast finishers in provides are better than what OH Dagger offers. (Magnet Wave and Comet both have 25s cooldowns, whereas Dagger’s blasts have kitten and 30s for Earthquake and Churning Earth respectively), aswell as Swirling Winds for projectile destruction. That’s not even mentioning the cast time of Churning Earth, which is so high it shouldn’t even be used in combat.

And flissy! I play how I want! You can’t tell me where the bleeds came from, that’s your opinion. And when I cleanse those bleeds with Pure of voice I gain buffs which then heal me through Altruistic Healing so I can facetank the projectiles too! Stop oppressing my play style.
Pure of Voice is OP, esp combined with soldier runes, I mean you clean two conditions and get a boon from one utility? Too good not to use. AH? more like god mode when you use empower.

CM is an amazing dungeon. I run it almost daily. It sure is a PUG destroyer though – those bleeds, ooft.
They are short paths, so I can understand the 1g reward, and it also isn’t difficult as long as you have 1 Guardian using appropriate reflection and condition removal. Oh, I guess that’s why, as all PUG Guardians are a staff-camping AHer.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the reward bumped up to beyond where it “should” be, just to make it more active content. Wonder if it would be more run if it was 1.5g/path.
I absolutely love every single one of these weapons. When looking at the patch notes while updating, I was expecting some really tacky nonsense, not a love themed intricate piece of art.
My Elementalist already has a full set of these beauties, and I want moarrrr!
The +10 to all stats will likely change too. The bonus from the earlier runes will be weaker, and the last ones stronger.
Regardless, will still be a horrible rune choice much like now.
I’ll likely stay with Healing Signet for PvE.
It’ll be a “wait and see” on the new PvP meta after the other balances. If there’s a lot of poison about, Surge will be the go-to.

Maximum DPS builds (that means full zerker and traited that way as well,) will see about a 10% decrease in damage. 100% of that reduction comes through crit damage. Your crits will hit for slightly less. Your normal attacks will hit just as hard. You’ll still be specced for the best DPS in the game and you’ll still be able to deliver it. It’ll just be slightly less, on average, than you’re used to.
Truth be told, a lot of maximum DPS builds are going to have to regear/retrait now due to incorporating Assassin gear, which will no longer be “maximum DPS build” as critting will be, obviously, less important than power.
Berserker is now even more the only option for PvE, nothing will even touch it. No 3/6 Assassin or 3/6 Berserker. Nope. 6/6 Berserker, Berserker Weapons, Berserker Trinkets. Waiting and seeing on runes.

Enemies are often static and don’t move out of player AOE.
Anybody talking about a maximum or theoretical damage output will never refer to PvP content.
They are part of the meta in PvE. They deal reasonable damage, but are out-shined in this area by several other options (Thief, Mesmer, Ele). Every group should have at least one, because of the offensive support they bring (Banner of Disc & Strength).
——— The reason a lot of people call them “overpowered” for PvE is they are more forgiving than pretty much every other class (I’ve recently been playing a lot of my Ele, and what I used to just tickle my Warrior really puts my Ele at risk), and it’s a lot easier than other classes to pump out the higher DPS it can manage.
Warriors sit in a very strong PvP position, but are slowly on the decline (especially when the balance patch hits and conditions just become even more meta).
WvW Warriors are very valuable, sitting at the front of the melee train giving the enemy a stun sandwich. The Hammer is the “go-to” weapon for WvW as it packs a punch as has disables, although it attacks slowly so any blind spam is crippling to the Warrior.
Overall, Warriors are in an incredible place at the moment, a very valued asset regardless of the content you are doing.

It’s open PvE, why are you trying to act as if you’ve made a breakthrough by realizing incredibly bad builds are actually viable in a game where everything is designed to be viable?

It’s to keep it “on par” with the Heavy/Medium armor. I.e. really basic and easy to obtain regular skins, with some flame slapped on it.
We knew all along Feathered was a possibility, along with maybe Winged, as the intial T3 was skimpy on a female, so the redesign was going to be also.
They wouldn’t have “updated” a gemstore armor regardless, as that would impact on sales of the Phoenix set.
You can request a refund by submitted a ticket, but note this will likely end up with you being requested to destroy the armor, then reply to the email, resulting in you not being able to get your stats back, or the skin that the Flamekissed was placed over.

I can’t see a build like that doing much damage though, since most banner builds usually rely on conditions.

Ele’s current state is best in PvE, worst in PvP.
Mesmer is very cheap, but stable, spam dodges and multiple stealth, but a nerf is soon coming to their dodges.
Thieves are OP because of how stealth works in the game. Counterable, but requires the Thief to be bad (i.e. predictable).

You mean people who buy from gemstore? Yeah, they get rewards. People who have bought the product – the game – and don’t fund through the gemstore don’t deserve anything more, regardless of how many hours they’ve sunk in.

1st Tier – fastest maps.

They didn’t do it to stop pre-rolling, they did it so you couldn’t cheese a super-quick Fractal with Swamp -> Water -> Harpy.

A nerf which affects ALL builds using Dhuumfire. The change to Dhuumfire is not a good change, only limiting it to Death Shroud is the worst thing they could have done.
I agree on reducing the damage on it, because the damage of Dhuumfire can be increased with Sigils/Runes and speccing more into condition damage while sacrificing power/precision.
ArenaNet have had balancing issues since launch, just suck it up like the rest of us had to and wait for the next MMO.
Ranger are onpar with a Warrior in PvE in the hands of a capable player (i.e. not a longbow camping Bearbow, but manning up and taking Sword/X). However, if PvE groups would be PUGged, Ranger is a horrible choice as they are now deemed kick-on-sight by most.

The same reason WvW players have been complaining for the past few months, none of us want LS tied to any part of WvW. This is just a story-reason to implement EOTM in.
I’m going to go ahead and say this is about the speed, as abomination in Arah P2 has been soloed for months?
For ranged, I much prefer the Warrior’s skill-set. Burst provides a fire field, as-well as having a strong blast-finisher and an immobilize. The Ranger’s SB/LB just suck in general, poor damage output as it’s ranged combat and inferior utility on them.
Ranger is a misnomer though, I REALLY wish they didn’t name them Ranger’s so all the muppets wouldn’t camp their LBs and use a Sword/WH instead.
It’s basically a copy/paste of a default Warrior condi build and nothing new whatsoever – we know it works, and so do you. Would be better if you dropped Death from Above for Signet Mastery as you are using 3 signets that will ultimately be on CD.
What runes/sigils? I’m going to go ahead and say you’re running 6/6 Undead and Agony/? on swords, Energy on LB.
I don’t see a need to take Bull’s Charge, none of your skills really warrant it necessary (i.e. no 100b or anything alike).
What Human healing skill and Norn running are you mentioning?
Prayer to Dwayna as the heal, and Bear/Leopard form for the running.
The good thing with human is the human heal is actually useful. Which make you more flexible. I can put my trait points else where without getting the trait which reduce signet healing time.

Sure, there is selling of arah… but dont pug arah and your problems are solved (find some friends, don’t be socially lazy).
That is mostly people exploiting, with a few having a few group of friends dropping out to sell that spot splitting the cash, or legitimate soloers. Only a very small minority are people who kick.
Norn is objectively a better option, due to racial elites being a possible asset (Leopard/Bear form for WvW and allowing Arah P3 solo)
That said, the difference is so minor just pick whichever you enjoy playing behind.
it irked me because I’ve had my Dungeon Master for over a year now and don’t like being called out a noob.
Implying having DM makes you awesome at the game.
1) Anything that offers a guarenteed profit to salvage is probably negated by a higher TP cost, as people will risk a loss buying an item hoping to profit off RNG, even at low-level salvaging. Personally, I salvage all greens/blues of cloth, metal and wood worth <2s, and sell all leather and items more expensive to either vendor or TP.
2) As the layman money making method increases effectiveness, so does the cost of the little luxuries like this. Dye prices are increasing with the unids, so people like to gamble on identifying one of the expensive ones, like Abyss or Celestial.
No, as stated, the whole idea is based on the fact that people who kick others on purpose to let friends/guildmembers ‘steal’ the reward they didnt deserve, will kick people more often then people who kick for legit reasons. So if you occasionally kick someone it wouldn’t matter at all.
Can you source the information where you found out more people kick for “illegitimate” reasons than legitimate? I’m still yet to see one of these “boot for a guildie/friend” scenarios in over 3000 hours of playtime.
The complaints over 500 gems are silly. The mask is purely cosmetic, so we’re lucky they didn’t price it at 2,000 gems. When the thing came out, I spent a couple days and earned 40g, traded it for gems, and got the mask. If you want special cosmetic gear, take some time to work for it.
People complain because full armor sets used to be released for 800 gems, i.e. 133 gems per piece.
These were more detailed and thorough pieces of armor, as a whole. But ArenaNet have fallen into the habit of pumping out minor details or flicks and charging an extortionate price.
The complains are because we are paying more for less, as the precedence on gem store armor was set long ago.
But it’s still only cosmetic, if it’s not worth 500 gems to someone they don’t need to buy it.
You keep forgetting that gems in general can only be obtained with real money.
For someone to buy some gems with gold, someone else has to buy those gems with money first and exchange them for gold, making your whole scheme moot.
Totally not true, people paying real money decreases the cost in gold only. They would still be purchaseable with gold if nobody bought gems → gold unless ArenaNet changed how it works.
