Necromancer: direct damage necos are highly underrated. From the ability to plow through armies with life blast, to the relentless single target damage of dagger flashing, with decent self buffing abilities the necro arguably the ultimate of low maintenance DPS. Their high HP and constant LF gain makes the necro quite tanky even without dodging, but their flaw is their lack of serious AoE damage.
They aren’t underrated. For sure, they can still do the deeps, but lower than practically any other meta-build while offering little support – with the support they do offer being available from other professions.
Ranger: don’t have much experience with this, so I can’t speak personally. I think the have high sustained single target damage, though.
Frost Spirit/Fury & Might from WH.
Engineer: Best self buffer in the game, capable of sustaining 20+ stacks of might constantly, along with decent fury uptime as well. Bombs and grenades both do a lot of direct and condi damage in large AoEs. To top it off, with the nigh limitless utility an engi provides, there is no problem you won’t have a solution for. But, the engi is a high maintenance class to play, with a high skill floor and skill ceiling. Comes with haste.
Engineers, while below an Ele in terms of Might/Fury stacking, can maintain close to 25 Vuln on a boss, which is very nice if your group lacks. I wouldn’t really call Engineer versatile though, because their other options that aren’t the meta are downright poor and a waste of time.
I have been thinking about going Necromancer, but was wondering is there a build for just dps. I am not a supporter kind of guy I like to go in with all dmg, but I am not fond of Warrior since it is a face roll kind of prof xD looking for more of a challenge.
There’s nothing that doesn’t have any support is just raw damage.
Groups pick the high damage professions and then utilise their support:
*Ele for Might/Fury stacking
*Warrior for Banners
*Mesmers for Reflections/Pulls/AOE Quickness
*Guardians for Reflections and Blinds->Vuln
*Thief for Blinds/Stealth
If you was leaning towards Necro, then saw the light, that shows you have an interest towards casters, so maybe a Staff Pyromancer Ele.
Long story short, I want to move my Ascended Backpiece from my Guardian onto my other Guardian. But I’m not entirely sure on an item I can do the transmute -> splitter -> transmute trick on.
If I buy a Quaggan backpack off the TP, am I able to use the backpack strap it comes with to make it account bound and then split on the character I want it on?

Like most people, I have my low level alts (21-35) stationed at a JP to grab a chance at a doubloon every day.
But the past few days, I’ve been running around JPs with them after logging in, and I’m getting several doubloons in the time. The few days I’ve tested, it’s worked out to be a “burst” profit of about 10g/hr.
Am I getting ridiculously lucky, or is this something actually worth doing?

I really liked the texture recall had on my ear flaps, but I do remember liking blacklight on the goggle bits better. It was sort of a toss up.
But the 60g difference meant Recall was the winner?

Regarding Legendary, people want them “because” they are Legendary. A lot of newer people won’t know what Infinite Light is, Mjolnir is, Immobulus is, Foefires Essence is, or the price tag that comes with them. But you bet your kitten they know that Twilight comes with a 1.8k price tag, or Juggernaut with a 2k price tag.
People just want to show off in an environment where nobody other than themselves/their friends care, but pretend other’s actually do give a kitten .

Stacking is a perfectly balanced way to group enemies up. The enemies are grouped up, but so are the players.
The issue is with the Warrior class, rather than the stacking mechanic. Recently been playing my Ele a lot and stacking is a lot more unforgiving and tricky than it is on a Warrior.
In most dungeons, the Warrior can facetank most the attacks, even when in full Berserker and 30/25/0/0/15 and get a timed aegis on the larger, more punishing attacks.
Of the “usual” dungeonthat you find being trained by “Zerker” groups per day (which for those that do not know is AC 1/2/3, COF 1/2, SE 1/3, TA Up and maybe COE), only COE really requires a Warrior to do any dodging.
You don’t see CM, HOTW and Arah being farmed by these brainless groups because they actually require dodging by Warriors, which is pretty much all you ever find on the LFG if you’re looking for a “Zerker”. It’s not because they are the best damage, because they aren’t (far from it), and they offer limited support after Disc/Strength banners are dropped by 1 Warrior. It’s because they are so simple and unpunishing to play. They need their defenses reduced in a PvE environment.
The Warriors HP/Armor is a necessary balance in PvP due to missing aspects, such as own protection source, vigor, aegis etc. But it just makes them too easy for PvE, and it needs balancing.
And yes, I main a Warrior.

Disagree. Maybe for future dyes, but not current ones. And this is coming from someone who has used a ridiculous number of the expensive ltd. ed dyes.
If you open an exotic champion bag you got dropped on a higher level character but on a level 2 character, yes you can get a precursor.
Your build/gear is fine, but kitten it get a second armor set and put Scholar runes in them. Why kitten yourself for the sake of 1300 dungeon tokens? Finding a hybrid middle-ground for multiple game modes is a terrible idea, you end up gimping yourself in both to be good at neither.

can you tell me about your experience with celestial on warrior? I got the charged crystals now and was wondering if it’s wondering if it’s worth to make ascended celestial for warrior. My friends keeps telling me that it’s waste of gold ._.
It is a waste of time. There is no middle ground in GW2, because it’s bad. Trying to be good at everything means you’re good at nothing.
Celestial means you give up stats you want for stats you don’t.
It feels that the mysterious “E” has dipped out of the limelight since Dragon Bash. But I haven’t forgotten, and I’m curious every single update.
Do we have any leads yet who “E” could be? My only guess is “E” is the Asura that was pictured in Scarlet’s Lair, impaled by daggers symbolizing an enemy of Scarlet she is close to, or perhaps even a betrayer. If this Asura is someone and I’m missing this, please let me know. The Asuran is Omadd, I’m silly.
I’m stumped. I know Kiel is a big favourite, but she seems too centered to be this person, and too close to us and the rest of “Destiny’s Edge 2.0”.
And, of course, it could just be a character they are yet to introduce – which honestly will sadden me.

Warriors do more DPS, but guardians do support with their DPS.
DPS between the 2 are really close. Warrior is only better for “group DPS” with banner support. But once you have a Warrior/2 Warriors dropping Disc & Strength, why take anymore?
@OP, I’ll speak purely PvE perspective here, and suggest if you will be PUGing a majority of the time, you will have no issues finding at least adequate Warriors for their banners. A good Guardian, on the other hand, is few and far between in the PUG world.
It’s much easier to carry bad players as a Guardian than on a Warrior. You can save your terrible teammates kitten because they have unbound their dodge key by using a timed Aegis, while still being able to dish out just shy of the DPS of Warriors.
With the PUG mentality, you’ll get a butt load of Warriors “cuz wars op lolz” so many players flock to the class, leaving a spot open for a good Guardian is every group, rather than AH cleric junk people seem to play.

Wars have zero weakness and don’t have to sacrifice anything to do damage.
Apart from no protection, no vigor, no aegis, 1 blind and highly telegraphed, easily dodgeable attacks.

It’s getting easier and easier for the average player to earn higher and higher amounts of profit/hr.
This is reflected in increased gem price. What do you expect, really? Prices of such things are based on what they “layman” can earn in a period of time, and will always take this person X hours to get that currency.

Swearing IS your fault, and if he reports you for swearing at him in whisper, that can get you a suspension. It’s sad, but being a jerk in the game isn’t against the rules. Swearing however, is.
I don’t make the rules, but that’s just the way it is. Don’t put yourself in a position where you’re the offending player, even if this sort of thing brings your blood to a boil (which it understandably does).
Swearing itself isn’t, there’s a profanity filter for that. But abusing someone in vulgar tones definitely is.
For the love of god don’t make a condition warrior. Build a full zerkers set with full divinity runes and practice with that. Condition warriors are useless.
You lost all validity when you suggested divinity runes.
Pretty much everything is viable in PvE. While the Sword is a terrible weapon to PvE with (weak power/condition hybrid mix) it’s still useable. Do note that your damage will be very low and you will be somewhat a liability/dead weight, so this does NOT qualify you as a DPS for speedruns. Not even close.
Nothing about this build has been tested, but just something that would make sense to me. The basic gist is that Sword is a bad weapon to the point it’s not worth investing to improve your personal DPS, and just trying to support your group to a sub-optimal level all for the sake of pleasing yourself with a Sword aesthetic via banners/vuln and EA.
I’ve guessed that Dual Wielding/Empowered apply to condition damage too, that’ll need clearing up by someone who knows.
The point is, sword a horrible weapon and should only be used in “play how you want” or “chilled” runs.
Or you could run the Meta axe build using A/M and A/Sw.

They claimed to have fixed him once, but he kept right on cheating. So… cheat back.
I beat him by putting down a Box O’ Fun next to myself, setting it to shapechange, and then starting the contest. As soon as it started, I hit the box for the shapechange. Drinking stuff was gone, and I was getting Out of Combat regeneration (as I recall). It wore off before the end, but it was enough of a boost that I was able to take him down the rest of the way.
That’s changed I believe.

Stance is absurd, my thief’s elite skill have 36s cooldown. They should reduce Mending to 15s and cure 1 condition per second during 5s after activation and improve heal.
Defiant Stance and Healing Surge to 20s.Is there suppose to be a [sarcasm] tag in that post? Defiant Stance is already amazing in zerg fights reducing the CD to 20 seconds would make it ridiculously OP.
please, which zerg fight you are talking about. defiant stance can be in the list of worst skills warrior ever have.
Its essentially a full heal in ZvZ. Simply pop it and move into AOE.
How is that the worst skill ever?

It would be horrendous. Utility skills are necessary, wasting them on all conjures is a horrible idea.
Damage
Mesmer trumps the Warrior, but takes the time to pump out the 3 phantasms to do so. In a shorter fight, the Warrior does more damage.
Support
Incomparable. Mesmer offers in a form of reflections, boon/condi removal, stealth in a Thief absence and AOE quickness. Warrior offers offensive support via banners, “burst” might and fury (For Great Justice), and a warbanner for difficult content.
Survivability
Mesmer is easier to survive as, due to perma vigor, blurred frenzy and distortion. Warrior has the higher armor and health, so is more forgiving.
Both are a fitting part of a meta. There is no right answer.
Ignore anybody who says Warrior is the highest damage, they are straight up wrong and their belief in that matter negates any validity that come from their mind.
No group needs a third Warrior, better options become available. If you intend on PUGging, these Warrior roles are easily filled, and after a few kicks you will stumble across 2 adequate Warriors. PUG Mesmer on the other hand is very difficult to find, as any that join will just be 1200 range camping with a GS.
Dietere, was the instance owner a guardian with a helmet with wings?
Nah it was a 12k AP warrior in full CoF armor. Bossy, rude, and full of rage quit.
Don’t forget a Pearl greatsword and an unknown secondary weapon.

The nerf will put signet a lot closer to surge in terms of HPS. It’s a little higher, granted, but it may turn out the small boost in HPS will not be worth the inability to survive the burst damage. Not to mention poison absolutely cripples sustained healing.
The HPS difference between surge and signet is too close to make signet a “clear” winner.
That’s a really poor way to compare heals. Sure they may heal the same in say, one minute for example. But signet does it constantly, essentially negating enemy damage, whereas healing surge you have no passive regen during it’s CD period making you vulnerable during that time to a heavy burst. You might not even be able to get off the second healing surge because you died while it was on CD. So even though they may heal the roughly the same over time, it’s a horrible way to compare heals.
It’s a perfect way to compare heals. I’ll be generous and offer 5 ticks of heal from signet during a burst offence. If you used surge and didn’t get it off and died, the ~2k health the signet would have healed will mean nothing, you’re still a walking loot bag at this point.
Sustained needs to be a good chunk more powerful than a burst heal, it’s how balance mechanics work.
The good conjures (LH & FGS) that are used would be OP, yes, while the unused conjures (FA & MS) would still be unused. It wouldn’t affect IB in anyway as any charges used other than the #4 & #3 are often a total waste.
Hotjoin viable? Absolutely. Anything else? I doubt it.
Icebow can actually pressure a point pretty wellm either dealing damage or forcing them off. Of course, much like in PvE, it’ll be a 4 → 3 and drop.
Lightning Hammer I really can’t see being too much use without being a walking corpse by dropping all defense to maximise the damage.
If you’re intent on having a long-lasting conjure, flame axe could be interesting. It’s got some offence, defense and pressure, while having the advantage of so few enemies knowing what it actually brings.
Signet will still be viable. I doubt it will counter the QQ though.
I really do hope it is, BTW do you think Rune of the Dolyak will offset the 8% loss? If not, can you think of anyway we can offset the 8% loss?
Being the tankiest class in game as well as traiting for adrenal health should help =) Stop crying, you will use it after the nerf and not even notice the difference.

Just follow the meta build (30/25/0/0/15), and if you’re uncomfortable with Zerker (due to inability to dodge during the learning process) slap a bit of Knights in.
But you’re fooling yourself if 3/6 Knight pieces are going to make any difference to your survival, go 6/6 if you’re struggling or learning.
I used that build at fotm 79, it works very well. If you feel its too squishy for 40+ that is 100% an l2p issue.
It works pretty well as long as you have group members to babysit your conditions and tank for you.
Very true. Thats why all good groups have at least 1 cleric staff guard. Gotta heal up all the bad zerkers after all
Or kick them and get good Zerkers so you can have a 5 man party and not a 4 man.
Most builds do synergize with the team but while the 30/25/0/0/15 build does produce the best warrior DPS. Other than perhaps a banner or fgj this build brings nothing to synergize with the team other than DPS. So basicaaly this build in very hard content needs to be supported by other players who have to take a less DD build in order to support you so you can put out big numbers lol
Usually the Guardian is responsible for condi removal (PF and VOR) while bringing reflects and Aegis. Ele for Might/Fury stacking. No other support is necessary, everybody is able to dodge important attacks and outheal the “unavoidable” ones.

Yep, absolutely that’s my objective. Badges of Honor rain down like water if you complete achievements (not even that many to get 1000+ badges). Yet I have to toil through a garbage dungeon (obviously my opinion on Arah) to grind out my 500. I’d feel different if it was actually fun (again, another flagrant opinion).
That isn’t a problem with the dungeon tokens not being available, it’s a problem with the Badges of Achievements actually being given in achievement chests. Remove BOH for equality, not add dungeon tokens.
As for Arah tokens, you can buy paths. There are plenty of sellers who want to run paths multiple time a day and seek rewards for doing so. But please, please only buy from a legitimate player, look for the “quest” icon at Lupicus and if it’s still there, report the host and leave the party.

It depends on your dye scheme, but it’s always a silver tinge, but not a solid block like shown.
Its specifically limited to 1, so I’m pretty sure its intended. If it were a bug there wouldn’t be a limit.

I dont understand the logic behind putting all the stuff on a character your about to delete, unlocking but not opening, banking, then deleting. It’s far too unlikely scenario.
