“Dear ANet, nerf Paper, Scissors is fine. Sincerely, Rock”
Elysaurus | Warrior | [LOL] | League of the Legendary | Gandara (EU)
There is the smallest correlation between APs and experience. There is nothing of the sort between AP and skill.
Of course, I’m cautious of “Player A” with 749 APs, but that doesn’t mean “Player B” with 17,487 is any good.
I would take “Player C” with 7,573 APs over “Player B” at first glance knowing nothing else about either of them, because it stands a good chance that “Player B” has spent most of his time farming dailies and LS content than in Dungeons.
The best way to judge a player’s ability is request a gear link. While still not perfect, if someone links Full Ascended Zerk/Assassin with correct Runes & Sigils, they at least deserve an attempt.
The kick function is there – if someone turns out to be a horrible player you kick them. Initial requirements should be nigh on none existant other than asking for “experienced” and “zerker/dps”.
Probably looks like a showoff attempt, but I have no idea how I caught this all those months ago.
Warriors are dependent on bleeds for condition damage. They have very limited access to other conditions, so to make things fair the Warrior’s “only” condition is buffed.
I don’t see why you can scream OP in comparison to a Necro – Put a condition Necro against a condition Warrior of equal skill and the Necro will win all day long.
Most armor and weapons clip in the game.
I guess you aren’t playing Charr, Norn or Asuran then?
Human actually.
This is why you are surprised by clipping issues.
There are much more urgent matters to attend to in the game. Fix the game breaking bugs before the visual clipping.
Look at the pve meta builds in the stickies at the top of the forum. Most are S/F anyhow. Essentially, S/F you would run virtually the same as S/D, just /F is somewhat more defensive (although since you mention healing, less heals too – granted not much, but water 5 dagger is a heal vs. no heals on /f, same number of blast finishers though, just in different spots).
/F is superior because of the longer lasting fire field and better blasts. Earthquake has poor CD, and Churning Earth is nigh unusable in combat. The two blasts on the focus are shorter CD, as well as bringing Swirlies and Obsidian Flesh into the mix.
Dagger OH shouldn’t really be used in the offhand, imo.
Unless you are rich, I recommend not purchasing any expensive runes like Scholar until the March 18th patch. Some rumours that Scholar may get nerfed and others possibly buffed. For now just use Ruby Orbs which are cheap.
3g per rune, or 21g for all 7 armor pieces, for a BiS rune is only for “rich” people? It’s a total steal – much better than any other option as of now. There really is no excuse not to have them.

Any exotic recipe that is available at level 400 will give experience. Once you hit 450, you can refine Empyreal/Dragonite/Bloodstone until 475 too.
Get a Zerker set for PvE and a PVT/Knights set for WvW. There’s no grind involved, everybody, especially WvW players, have stacks upon stacks of all the Dust/Fragments/Ore. You can just buy the Ingots and Bolts.
I don’t see the issue, gimping yourself to find a middle ground is dumb.
Radiant & Hellfire boots would be nice at the price of 600 gems or so-
You can pick one when you reach 21k Achievement points.
Simple question. The Replicator is the recipe drop from SE Path 1. It currently sells for ~7g as it is the only exotic Magi amulet that is not account bound.
Who drops this – Tazza, the 3 Golems prior to her, or the champion Commander that nobody bothers with?
I guess the Commander, kitten P1 is a very overdone dungeon path, but the price is still so high. Can anybody confirm this?
It is cheaper to transmute cores up yourself, but this uses your skillpoints. While that seems attractive due to the surplus of skillpoints you probably have, there are much better methods of making money from your skillpoints, so I’d suggest buying the Lodestones straight up rather than transmuting cores.
It will come down to the precursor hunt and how difficult/time gated it will be.
If the precursors can be acquired without actually spending 300-700g depending on which lengendary you are making, it takes away a big chunk of the cost.So yes the cost of legendaries will drop in the next 6 months if the hunt is introduced.
I actually think that the scavenger hunt/crafted pre cursors will raise the price of Legendaries because it will raise the amount of Legendaries being crafted at the same time, subsequently raising crafting costs because the demand for t6 mats will be very high at that time.
This.
Precursors are a big reason why a lot of people don’t aim for them – especially if that person wants expensive ones like Twilight, Sunrise or Incinerator.
T6 will spike, as will things like Onyx/Charged lodestones, and likely Unid Dyes for Bifrost.
Another lazy armor piece for an extortionate price.
Welp, there goes another month I won’t be supporting the gem store.
You don’t want to buy a set of armor – it’s much, much cheaper to buy individual pieces.
As for what pieces, well that depends on what content you do doesn’kitten
Lesson learned. I’ll no longer be playing in those markets anymore. Hoarding items that only rich players will buy was one of my worst investment ideas. That doesn’t even come close to my losses in Gossamer…
Its big risk/big reward. Just make it a shorter term investment than you usually would.
Dungeons are probably your best bet, at least the quick ones per day (AC 1/2/3, SE 1/3 and COF 1). Pretty much 1 skillpoint per path because of trash mobs & 70% level exp at the end, then you have boss bags that can contain more.
Is also more profit that champ farming – why champ farm?
That’s greed for you. The longer you hold onto items the more of a risk you run that they will drop in price. You could have cashed them in and made a huge profit still, but that little extra greed got the better of you. Happened to me with F&F dyes being back in gem store, sadly no way of knowing they are coming back.
One thing I will say is that it could be predicted rewards would come back at the end of the LS arc., which they have.
I acknowledge you aren’t whinging, but people need to draw a line and sell it at that, so they don’t let their greed get the best.
I would suggest investing in about 2 stacks of these Exquisite Chrysocola Jewel if you can get them, with jewel crafting going up to 500 these are selling for about 1/3 of the price it costs to craft them.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/3461There is still about 5k posted at 15.47s but once that wall is down, price will rise fast.
Yep, the wall is gone and they’re already 29s.
Yeah. just saw that too. Fine by me as i bought 15 stacks while they were under 10s and salvaged another couple of stacks.
Darn, I only have about 350

Thread #17845 about this is definitely going to make them implement this.
All hail thread #17845.
Pressing “I” is so difficult.
Sometimes you just need to remove them all and add them in again. It’s been a bug since launch, for some reason items for the recipes are greyed out.
Its not bannable to get paid gold for it at all. Click the Arah dungeon lfg. How many people do you see selling the dungeon. This has been brought up multiple times and Anet has decided to not take action against someone selling a dungeon for gold.
See my signature. He was a legitimate seller not using exploits.
That just looks like a glorified “kick someone to sell a spot”.
It would have been fine if this timewaster was kicked and then just refilled, even for a guildie, but you profitted by kicking that person – therefore an offense.
But of course, the player you kicked would have only been able to report for being kicked, which is perfectly valid. Unless someone else in your group reported you after the path had been sold to a guildie, then you have nothing to worry about.
Even if for some reason your GW account would be tied to your financial account (which wouldn’t be, 2 seperate entities), there’s no reason you’d be punished for investing and supporting in the producers.
Wow, thanks for investing in us, here’s a ban on your gaming accounts. Doesn’t sound like good business does it?
Necros are pretty broken right now. Limited support, which is more often than not offered by professions (i.e. weakness and vuln) in a better method, but dealing more DPS than the Necro, while bringing even more support than that to the group.
Pretty much every class can cover 5-6 stacks of vuln on a boss, which makes the “burst” vuln from WoS uncessary. Also for where weakness is necessary (high tier fractals) your Warriors usually have Warhorn on and a Thief traited for weakness on crit. Both these outshine Necros in this field, while they also do other things better.
I understand why Necros get kicked – especially when playing PUG roulette – as it is pretty selfish and a good Necro running meta builds would just be worth more on a different profession, say a Thief or another Ele.
Oh, and of course wells overriding fire fields is terrible.
Really, if you want to play a Necro you either need to join non-speedrun groups, or find a group of friends. Then pick up the meta – look at Spoj’s signature. He’s an okay Necro I guess :P
The gem store shouldnt be balanced around those who are not supporting the game further with IGPs.
A higher gem price is better, as it entices more people to spend gems, aswell as being more beneficial to those who purchase gems to trade into gold.
Pretty much Overflowlation and that’s about it atm.
Made more … 2 days ago? I got 50 in 7 tries. The whole 77 used ~150 shards. (70 in batches of 10, the last 7 in 1s)
Of course, such a small sample size, but considering I’m comparing it to another small sample nothing seems to have changed.
It’s an extremely typical, cut and paste Hammer build.
Leg Specialist is pretty poor, though. Unless it’s only for Bladetrail?
It’s definitely caused an “uproar” of disappointment. Personally hope it doesn’t get changed, I like that it’s very subtle. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was changed though, but also I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t.
As a rule, AN don’t listen to constructive criticism and just “Waaaaah I can’t press V, nerf Warrior and Thief in PVP!!!!!!”
It’s nice they are bringing things back like Monocle, Jetpack.
Sadly, they will be too rare to have any real impact on price (this is where someone tells me the monocles are like 300g as opposed to >1000g isn’t it?)
EOTM is basically better WXP and Karma, and likely better loot too due to larger scale zergs.
That said, EOTM still sucks because you need perma stability else get knocked off by stray AOE knockbacks that are impossible to avoid in large scale zerging.
-Are they worth doing?
-Do they generate the experience that is desired from such a feature of the game?
-What would you PERSONALLY do to change Meta Events? ( I say personally for anyone who works at ANet who wants to put their 2 cents in without people assuming that’s what is happening.)
-If Meta events are the ginger step-child feature for you now… Why? And what do you do now in place?
They are worth doing if they are up. Are they worth waiting around for? Absolutely not.
They bring no skill benefit to the player in anyway, if anything it encourages bad play because you can be lazy and not dodge because there are so many people after their daily reviver.
I’d like them to not be auto attack and AFK fests, but anything more means they turn into a dead zone – i.e. Tequatl where I’d have to join a specific guild if I wanted to do the encounter.
As I said, I do them when they are up if I’m mapping or such things during the day when my dungeon group isn’t around.
for me im being deprived of that two shield skill only two! once deploy that two skill you have to fend yourself with main weapon and 6-to-0 specials or run around! im not talking pvp or spvp, im talking about pve…
If you’re talking PVE you shouldn’t even be using a Shield
As a rule, offhand weapons have long CD timers, a few exceptions exist such as Mesmer weapons & Ranger Dagger.
Shield skills would be far too good on short CDs.
Something AN have gotten right is that no player is forced to get a Legendary weapon to achieve BIS.
Everything else about Legendaries are wrong though
Damage wise:
Guardian > WarriorHp wise:
Warrior > GuardianEasiness:
Warrior = Guardian
Very accurate here. I’ll add to it a little and say that self buffed only Warrior > Guardian in terms of damage, but in a Dungeon group crawling with Might stacks then Guardian trumps.
Easiness is correct on a personal level, but a Guardian tends to have more responsibilities to worry about to help the group out, i.e. timed Aegis, timed blinds. That makes Guardian just a little harder than Warrior.
obvious warrior player is obvious. should i list off how one sided a warrior fighting a necromancer usually is? oh right pve thread. uhhhhhhh brb healing signet. brb 100b.
Well done, you can read my signature. Note that I smack talked Warriors earlier in the thread – the only thing they are good for in a group is banners. Everywhere else other classes beat Warrior.
Also getting this error. Any help on the matter?

For all those that think warrior is the most popular, your wrong. That url is to a survey done by gamestatistics.fr and if you scroll down towards the bottom you can see the class percentages. The most played is guardian at 18% and tied for second place are warrior and elementalist.
edit: That link downloads a pdf of the survey.
Alternatively we can go by figures ArenaNet posted themselves by looking here. Note that both sources are just general gameplay – not specifically PvE (Dungeons).
Well, there are people who DO get into Lion’s Arch, but it’s hardly their fault if their server/client keeps crashing. Or they have really limited time to spend gaming, is it?
Crashing no. Limited time to spend is absolutely there fault though.
It’s time to wash away the mentality of “I want that item and I want it now” and either put the effort in to get it, or miss out.
That would be mostly a fair argument, except it is absolutely not their fault they aren’t someone either unemployed or a student with a lot of time. If they weren’t willing to put the time in, sure, it’s their fault, but it’s not fair to say it’s their fault for having to go to work. Some of us have to put in long hours.
The thing is it’s not really several hours grind. It’s a couple. While I agree things shouldn’t take ridiculous times items shouldn’t be aimed at 2 hour a week players, as they aren’t really the active playerbase are they?
If you don’t need the heal you can just use the 40+ precision, and if you do get hit by a projectile you’re getting your scholar rune buff again in about ~20 seconds.
As opposed to almost instantly? Sure convinced me there. And I use Rending Strikes. I’m not sure on the maths, but I think the vuln is better than 40 precision.
Wrong. Healing signet does not give enough sustain to protect you from hard hitting mobs.
The hard hitting attacks are always highly telegraphed – thus easily dodgeable.
I actually use Defiant for Lupi solos. Its a full heal on him (especially if used on P2 AOE or P3 Drink/Flight), not to mention that you can continue DPSing instead of dodging.
Then you’re missing out on +40 precision from deep strikes, and if you dodge on his circle then you’ll hit him with two reckless dodges anyway. Defiant stance requires timing to use but heal sig is just passively keeping your HP up making it easier to maintain scholar runes in case of unlucky stray projectiles hitting you or a badly timed dodge on his life suck (this one catches me out a lot since I have a bit of delay).
So in other words, healing signet is best when warriors are not taking hits at all. Okay.
Well I guess my post mentioning Lupicus just doesn’t exist then. Use healing signet in Arah, it’s godly.
I don’t use Deep Strikes. Reckless Dodge isn’t worth the DPS different. Cast time yes, but it also heals more. I believe Defiant is more DPS on Lupi.
Not to mention, sometimes you don’t need a heal at all as you can easily avoid all of Lupi’s damage. And if you do get hit, it’s a strong hit so you want to get that back up, which you can do by tanking the next hit with defiant while DPSing.
Highest Healing without healing – Correct.
Come back with a noteable sample size to make such strong claims as favored accounts. But bear in mind you’ll need at least 5 figures of chests.
Except … healing signet is incredible for PvE. In fights where you just mitigate damage through dodge and blocks … well it’s just there, and for fights with hard hitting mobs, it gives you plenty of sustain. Look at pretty much any Lupicus solo, all warriors use healing signet. The great thing about it in that fight is if you get hit, it will heal you up like 6k hp before his next major attack, and considering lupine blasts hit for like 8k each, it’s a massive increase in survivability rather than healing surge which is just a small burst heal.
I actually use Defiant for Lupi solos. Its a full heal on him (especially if used on P2 AOE or P3 Drink/Flight), not to mention that you can continue DPSing instead of dodging.
Warriors use Healing signet in PvE?
That healing skill is worthless in PvE because mobs hit very hard, which is healing signet weakness. In PvP, many players are afraid of hitting hard and sacrifice damage for survivability which makes Healing signet strong.
Yes. It’s the highest HPS (debatable dependant on how well you’d use Defiant).
You dodge the harder hitting ones. The little ticks of damage you can’t avoid and the little conditions Healing Signet deals with.
Signet is an amazing way to keep yourself above 90% HP for Scholar runes
The Warrior is Easy-Mode but fun to PUG with because it makes everyone near them easy-mode too.
A correctly traited Guardian is better for that. You can carry with reflections and well timed Aegis’. Also perma prot if you opt for a Hammer build.
Death shroud has no health bar, it is a class mechanic.
Necros and warrior have the same base health. And necros would like to have a word with you on PvE.
This class mechanic drains as you get hit, and your health doesn’t go down with each hit. It is essentially a second health bar.
