Engineer’s have next to no stability.
An optimal group does not exist when you have an Engineer around.
Well you probably never play with good engi. I am really sorry for you loss:-P
Engineers are good. But they are not optimal.
GW2SCR, a site dedicated to speedrun records and their party comp. In the restricted rule set (i.e. no exploits), not a single party has 1 Engineer.
But Engineers are so optimal.
Scholar only for perfect zerk runs, Strength for everything else
An optimal group does not exist when you have an Engineer around.
@OP, as part of the attractiveness of Engineer is as a Might bot, Strength.
Really this is pretty dumb. You must be the group of people that only like 4 war 1 ele.
If this your thoughts on the engi then you sir have no idea.I went for strength runes. Will benefit in the long run much more.
4 Warriors? You’re crazy, no more than 1 please. If it weren’t for Might/Vuln from an Engineer they’d be fighting Necros for most useless PvE class. Their damage isn’t up to snuff to compete, its okay, but not good enough. Without their offensive support through Might & Vuln, Engineers would be nothing in a dungeon.
To keep things fresh, I play different a couple of different characters in different places. Ele in COE/AC, Thief in CM and COF, Warrior everywhere else.
gs with a fire sigil are you for real
To my knowledge, it’s the next-best DPS option after Force.

Skins have stopped going up because so many people bandwagon invested on them. I got fed up of waiting for Hallowe’en skins and sold them like 6 months on for a 20% ROI.
If you really want to hold onto something for a year and get about 20g for it. Go ahead, but this market is quickly becoming a non-option.
Personally, I think it is be better to invest in the older ones that are “at risk” of being removed, a la Sclerite fashion.
Ticket weapons really are an “average joe” way of investing. You must barely understand the word “investment” to not find a better option.

“My thoughts were … visual”. None of them were. Not a single one.
Stat swapping is quite irrelevent, as you can craft more than 10 Ascended weapons of different stats for cheaper than the Legendary counterpart. So stat swap is QOL because it saves inventory room.
We don’t need the game drifting further and further into a necessary grindfest. Any competitive player already needs to grind to get Ascended unless they want to be handicapped, let’s not make that Legendary now.
Today I managed to melee solo Alpkitten my Warrior for the first time (huzzah!).
A little issue I had is my damage was far too low to kill her before the boxes were destroyed. I had to resort to using the pillar need to bone wall, which was awkward and untrusting.
Apart from “more deeps”, where should I be taking her once the boxes are destroyed?
Legendaries are not supposed to be mandatory to have the best stat. They are purely QOL & visual.
This would make someone with a Legendary stronger than someone is Ascended. Go home.
I was told this Warrior build was OP. So I went and tested it.
I spent a whopping ~20s on this, full masterwork rabid gear with Krait runes.
Liadri went down first try and I never dropped below 17k.
If you’re having trouble, just use this and save yourself a lot of hassle. You can always come back for a more “fun” fight when you’re less stressed about a reward.
You could probably use an upscaled Warrior for this, but I don’t have a spare character slot to test.
I just did it in masterwork rabid using the build just to see how OP it really is.
It REALLY is OP, she still melted. Spend 20s and get a cool title if you’re struggling.
Well i just need to do my part
for dps, i don t really need to support Others ._.
Also i m using warriors in pug runs (arah and fractals mostly) when the Group doesn’t want eles or mesmers.Bringing weapons copy just for different sigils is a bit too much for me.
But since i m not experienced, could you tell me when should i use the rifle?
Everything else is clear ty.
Whenever you feel you need a longer range than the Longbow provides.
The honest answer is never, but it’s always good to have one.
If you only Arah on your Warrior, get a GS with Force & Undead, An Axe with Undead, Sword with Energy and whatever Warhorn to skip with rather than what I previously suggested.
I play mainly PvE like dungeons and stuff like that, so I don’t really need a solo build. The first one mentioned 4/6/0/4/0 seems to be nice. I’m still thinking about axe/axe version instead of axe/mace.
And I’m aware of that the GS is just better in stats and dps, I just wanna try sth newOffhand axe is objectively awful. The #4 fury is unnecessary as it only affects the Warrior who already have permanent fury, and Axe #5 is legions worse than auto attacking in almost every situation, and those that is it s better in (Hitting 5 mobs for EVERY tick I believe) is only fractionally better to the point where the 4 vuln from the Mace is actually a DPS increase over the Axe #5 in perfect situations.
Actually, Axe 5 does have its uses. When your party is mobbing a boss or what have you, the whirl combo finisher is pretty good. Example would be Mai Trin fractal where she drops a tonne of condition stacks. Whirling with a Light field fires cleansing bolts and a closely stacked group when fighting her benefits greatly. Even the healing bolts off a water field aren’t half bad, though of course not as good as using a blast finisher.
I use 4/6/0/4/0 with axe/mace primarily though will use axe/axe. That’s paired with a GS or a ranged weapon depending on the fight. Sigils I’m using at the moment are strength/accuracy. For a great sword I’ve got both Night and Force together. As far as I remember, those can stack together, but that may have been an early post update bug and has since been corrected and I’ll need to change that at some point.
I can appreciate the whirl finisher use, but Mai Trin was a horrible example. You’d be lacking off-hand sword to block her teleport, and the bleeding attack is super simple to dodge (looks like she is fencing/riposting). Using x/axe – a “bad” setup – would benefit someone who couldn’t dodge the attacks – a “bad” player.
Can’t think of somewhere where you’d need more whirling light finishers than Axe #2 or GS #3.
The only use I remember was changed – and that was to take down shield of the Legendary Grawl or the Svanir on the HOTW stairs.
Hmm, well I can agree with your point when pugging fractals. Usually I go with an organised guild group of very experienced fractal players so we play off each other’s skills very well. If anything Axe/sword and Axe/mace are the least useful combinations for me against Mai Trin. I wouldn’t say we’re the best or most efficient group at doing that particular fractal but we get the job done with minimal fuss and certainly no wiping.
Oh, and going a/a when meleeing the shaman on 49 is much more exciting and helps get to the shield phases quicker.
The only use I remember was changed – and that was to take down shield of the Legendary Grawl or the Svanir on the HOTW stairs.
Wich would be this 6/4/0/4/0 build? :O
i m totally clueless about warrior.
Also wich weapons should i absolutely have with me?
Someone told me to bring GS/SW-WH (and a Longbow), but i see you use Axe-SW.P.S: thank you flissy for now.
6/4/0/4/0 will be the replacement to the 4/6/0/4/0 build I posted. One Warrior in every group should be running this, and the rest should use the 6/6/0/2/0 build. A little coordination in your group as you start and you can find out who’s running what.
You should have every weapon with duplicates ideally.
For reference, these are the weapons I have in my bags. It’s a little more min/maxy than most care about, but the ones every Warrior should have I have bolded and italicized:
You don’t need Hammer or Shield. Carry both, but Sigil choice doesn’t matter, I just have Battle on my Shield as that’s what it came with, and Intelligence & Hydromancy on Hammer as that’s for WvW. Also note that my Maces and Warhorns are for when I run Axe based builds (mostly for Fractals due to Call to Arms).
As you can see, if you want to be prepared for all situations you’re gonna need a lot of weapons. This is absolutely not necessary though.
I put Axe/Sword as the offhand in the builds I post because it’s the one I find I use the most. This is because Axe is the highest 1h DPS option incase I need to swap to the Sword to proc an energy sigil and use Riposte. I’m also the player who usually does the pulling in my groups, and Sword #4 allows me to pull without crippling the mobs.
For easier dungeons, you could just put Axe/Warhorn on for group swiftness and mobility. Put Sword/Warhorn on for trash skips in Arah.
It’s mostly just know when to use what, in honesty, and how prepared you are for it.

but then for 10 min for organisation and completing the event which gives 6 champ bags + new event tokens (if you care to collect) + achievement points + some chance to get very rare stuff is better than mindless champ farming imo.
It’s harder, more coordination, more time consuming and less rewarding.
I hated how profitable the mindless farm was, but having difficult content yield such pathetic rewards is a joke. If getting gold is as tricky as people say, why not a guarenteed exotic & 2 rares in addition to the actual reward, then maybe people will actually care to try.
Good for people struggling, but the fun of Liadri is killing her with wacky, insane builds.
It’s a Wintersday holiday item, so not until the appropriate season would be my guess.
But this is ArenaNet, when do they ever do what would be logical?
and so the reward was….what exactly?
Moar greens I bet.
Don’t be absurd.
That would be far too generous.
There are some nice spots in Frostgorge, Southsun and Orr you can farm T6 to a relative standard at.
But my suggestion is to just work overtime, gems to gold in a minimum wage job is 60g/hr.
People have to buy food, clothes, pay bills and stuff too ya know. Many also have lives outside of work and videogames so working overtime isn’t an option
People can spend 3 hours a night farming in a game which bores them to death, but overtime is sacrilege? If a player wants something and bores themself farming gold to do it, they may aswell get a decent amount of gold FOR boring themselves. Change those 3 hours of boring activity a night to 1 hour of overtime you wouldn’t usually work, get MORE gold for it AND save 2 hours to do fun activities.
Its win win win win all around for every party.
Of course, this all goes out the window if someone makes in game money in a method they enjoy. But the majorities don’t seem to have fun making their gold.

1) If you aren’t using Grenades/Bombs, give up on Engineer as you will be next to useless.
2) Guardian is extremely useful and you should never need the range options anyway. Should be a high-priority choice if it’s fun for you.
3) If you find Warrior boring don’t play it.
4) Necromancer is by far the bottom of the PvE food chain. Nobody wants Necros in their group.
5) Bow and P/P are awful weapon sets to have on a Thief. If you don’t like D/D, give up on this too.
6) Elementalist is extremely overpowered right now. Every group should want 2 of these suckers. I love my Ele.
Ele or Guardian is your choice if “effectiveness” is a concern for you.
Except the 6/4/0/4/0 build
You know, it didn’t occur to me to swap AoO for Berserker’s Power.
Running Berserker doesn’t determine your playstyle so you cannot tire of a gearset. Your gear only dictates your player capability (i.e. how well you dodge and how much damage to soak up/forgiveness of mistakes).
It sounds like you’re tired of a your particular weapon set. Change that up, what were you running and what weapon would you like to use? If you answer that, I can “prescribe” you a build. Do note that, obviously, if you turn to a condition based weapon you will need to change gear.
(edited by Flissy.4093)
For the second Warrior, or the “DPS” build (6/6/0/2/0), Deep Strikes is an amazing trait, as it will give 6% crit chance (you won’t need banners, the main Warrior takes those).
But for the main Warrior, or the “EA” build (4/6/0/6/0), I’m honestly not sure. It would only be a 2% crit chance, but there’s nowhere else that point would be better invested.
All in all, I think the builds remain the same and will not change due to the bug fix.
For your second question, yes you’d lose a huge amount of DPS and you should exhaust all reasonable AR options in other slots (I’d say +8, as if you want +9 you may aswell craft good Ascended armor). If that isn’t enough, craft Berserker Ascended. Use your Celestial only as a “last straw” option.

“trolls”? It was easy, Wethospu proved it in the below video.
What was his/her build though? (trait/stats wise)
It’s in the description. Note that this was obviously pre-ferocity though.
Now any time someone says the Devs don’t listen, everyone can point to Eternity and say, even if it takes them forever, they can get it done.
They fix a small thing that affects <1% of people, but ruin things that affect the masses in the same patch.
It’s not even a silver lining at this point lol.
I’m not even a farmer, but holy cow how can ANet expect people to do the crap they pump out if they receive barely anything more than a couple of greens and a blue.
Was super excited for the return, but they removed everything fun about it and there is next to no incentive for anybody to do it.
The state of the game currently is “farm gold, buy T6 off TP that bots have farmed” because there is no feasible way for an average player to get such items themself.
Once again, WildStar in 11 days.
“trolls”? It was easy, Wethospu proved it in the below video.
ArenaNet have no idea what they are doing. There is no incentive or reward for somethings. We don’t expect exotics flying, but when things drop NOTHING you can’t feel good about what you just spent time doing.
11 days for WildStar.
I’m gonna enjoy this.
What OP means is it’s a legitimate, difficult boss that he can’t stack round a corner and zerk down before the boss can do anything, or 1500 range strafe him.
OP needs to L2play, the boss is tough but that doesn’t make it unfair. Only … I believe 1/4 … of the room becomes electrocuted at a time, you didn’t have to stand on the platforms you could have moved to another segment and then dodge the gear.

Had offered this suggestion a long time ago. I believe I got somewhere about 800 replies? Yeah, no red post as expected.
I don’t understand what you’re saying. To my knowledge, all events that are “better to fail” have been fixed to encourage success. ArenaNet learned their mistake with the Scarlet Invasions.
Like every Temple in Orr.
Oh wait, nevermind!
Guarenteed rare/exotic for completing as well as the chest which has a high likelyhood of containing another rare & other goodies is worse than a few porous bones?
Well that’s new to me. One’s mans junk is another man’s treasure I guess.
Exactly my point. Yet people still successfully defend and don’t let them fail.
You’re contradicting your earlier statement about better to fail events being ‘fixed’.
Aside from temples, there are still many countless examples of event chains where it’s more beneficial on a whole to let things fail, or to draw out events to farm.
Let things fail so you can successfully complete again do you mean? Failing itself is not rewarding.
COF P1 is actually one of the longer dungeons.
CM Path 3 is the fastest dungeon path, then SE Path 1, followed by CM Path 2 and CM Path 1.
As a rule, just run them all but Arah P4 (P1 with PUGs), TA Aetherpath, SE P2, HOTW P2/3 & COF P2/P3. Wouldn’t do AC P2 or 3 either, tbh.

I don’t really see what the two games have in common. Different strokes for different folks, have fun.
Telegraphs, for the most part, with dodging. Nothing ground breaking or “copied”. That said, GW2 content is simpler and easier, purposely designed so everybody can do it. Wildstar, on the otherhand, is the polar opposite – according to Carbine (WildStar devs) they only predict 1% of players to have any remote success in their 40 man raids.
GW2 has the advantage of having no sub fee. So I can leave for a few months to play WildStar, then just come back to do an update if an interesting one is released, then clear off back to WildStar.
Ha, I remember 1 year ago when people thought anchor builds were a good idea. I’m looking at you Strife’s AH build.
The necro in this thread is OP.
It lands for part of the damage, then sends a shockwave out similar to Warrior Mace #5 for the remainder. Always dodge into him, but the window to only use 1 dodge is still very small.
I like this boss now.
Firstly, I want to make it clear that Warrior does not do the most damage. They are beaten by a Thief, Mesmer, Ele & average around the same as a Guardian. Their solo DPS, however, is incredible due to Forceful Greatsword trait.
Skill cap will depend on your content aim. I personally play a mix of Engineer/Ele in PvP for their skill curves, but for PvE Guardian is absolutely the most difficult with their mix of lowest health pool and having to give all “selfish” things up for team support to be of any real use. Contrary to belief, an Ele has a really low skill cap in PvE as the best builds involve a very small rotation to stack boons, or just pressing “2” to spam Lava Font.
Yes. I’ve only ever “played how I want” that does not include any form of arbitrage. 600g isn’t a lot in the grand scheme of things.
Farming all the materials with yourself without buying them off the TP is much harder, though, but absolutely possible.
I don’t understand what you’re saying. To my knowledge, all events that are “better to fail” have been fixed to encourage success. ArenaNet learned their mistake with the Scarlet Invasions.
Filssy gave you dungeon party builds. Just pointing that out. If you need a solo build those are not it.
While it’s true, it’s shocking to me people solo with a pure-axe build when Forceful Greatsword exists?
Im not looking for it to be best at evrything just a boost to it. Bring it on line with sig and Adrenaline, or at least a little close.
And i dont think making it a stun breaker would make it op.
“Bring it on line with sig” you mean a stupidly OP heal that can only be countered by poison? Okay.
And stun breaker would be horribly overpowered. It would mean it loses its cast time and becomes the only heal in the game that’s a stunbreaker, allowing a “free” utility slot for the Warrior
Account wide crafting is a nono. While I don’t do it myself, I have several friends who level a bunch of characters by maxing several crafts, and I know it’s a very popular method.
I don’t, however, understand the fee to switch. As someone who foolishly put all his crafts on one character “because I’ll never delete her” it’s something I’d like to see change.
Your reason is flawed and makes no sense thematically.
As for raids themselves, they do not suit the aim of GW2 or the major playerbase the game aims to please. There are several MMOs out there that cater to a raiding community, with one more being released at the end of the month.
if they tinker, then everyone that invested in azurite orbs lose big and they get mad.
Players who invested should never be considered when balancing or for updates. I lost 700g overnight on Gem store dyes, so be it I lost out. Should they have not brought dyes back because I had invested? Hell no. Same for this, sort out Azurite orbs and if investors get screwed it’s their own risk.
Pointless thread. A player who spends 4k hours in dungeons skipping mobs (like I do) has far less chance of a precursor than someone who has spent 1k zerg farming Orr.
There is no correlation between time spent playing and # of precursors dropped, only how you spend your time.
But to answer, 4k hours.
