Don’t expect precursor crafting, I never expect it to come. The game needs much more than that, namely bug fixes and QOL issues before an easier way to obtain a cosmetic.

Dungeons. 70% of a skillpoint (guarentee), more if you kill enemies, per path, champ boxes with possibility for more.

I agree with Flissy although I do understand why it is seasonal.

It’s been out for 1 wintersday. We don’t even know if they intend on bringing it back for next wintersday. Regardless because of the shear volume of people asking for it I think it is likely we will see it again.

But is it actually seasonal, can you explain how, or are people just assuming it is because it happened to be Wintersday when it was released?

As someone mentioned before, the only sale has been all 3 tools at once – so much like real life where, for example, a set of 4 tires together are cheaper than 4 separate. Never had an individual tool gone on sale.

Make the current Eternities a discountinued item. Take away it’s MF recipe.

Change the result of the recipe to a new item (it still can keep the same name, like how Acolyte Cowl lvl 1 and lvl 5 has the same name), which is exactly the same as Eternity except that it’s account bound always.

Problem solved.

That is a horrendous idea. Discontinued items as prestigious as Eternity is an abomination and will be game crippling. The best solution would be to prevent them being tradable, except those already listed – anybody who wants to purchase Eternity rather than crafting the 2 GS can just buy the 2 GS of the TP. It’s not perfect, but it’s the best I can think of.

I thought about using and abusing this for myself. For days, I’ve rattled over in my brain “how can ArenaNet stop this?”. Account bound Eternity? No, some are on the TP and that would be unfair. Ripping Sunrise/Twilight when they are forged to Eternity until Eternity is equipped? Likely not possible to code.

I can’t think of how ANet can prevent this. So I don’t think they will.

I believe what will happen is:
1) Sunrise and Twilight both drop in cost drastically. Eternity drops with them but is far cheaper than buying both Sunrise & Twilight combined, and is under “150%” cost.
2) There will be no demand for Eternity to make this possible after the first few people abuse this because of a constant supply of Eternity, much greater than what it is now.

1 is likely if people actually want Eternity (I personally don’t, and never have done. I have always intended on just keeping Sunrise & Twilight). 2 in my eyes is the more likely scenario, because I believe that a much greater sum of people would rather pay “1000g” (my estimate for the difference in price between Eternity and Sunrise+Twilight) for both Sunrise & Twilight skins than pay 3500g for all 3. I don’t know many people who would value the Eternity skin so greatly.

As much as I’d like to abuse this – which would likely allow me to complete my Legendary set – it needs to be looked at and fixed before the 15th. But what is more likely happen is ANet go “oops” and the first people on board profit greatly, and it’s fixed on the 16th.

I started at 20 (used a scroll and new char slot) and opened all 3 LA chests everyday on that character for over 4 months. NEVER got a copper doubloon (maybe I just got lucky in opening nearly 300 chests?)

I did the same for my 2 characters. 20 didn’t work – I got copper. So I had to manually level 1. Why else would I get to 21 if 20 worked?

OP is correct in his claim that Blacktide has a lot of Polish players (however, the 90% figure is ridiculous, made up, and completely untrue). Blacktide is an unofficial polish server, so most Polish people play there. What you see on Blacktide is NOT the common thing. Polish is seldom seen on every other EU server.

Such a small minority of the playerbase speak Polish, and ArenaNet (a business first and foremost) would not profit, and would instead lose, financially if they translated the game into Polish.

I haven’t even mentioned that quite a number of those who do speak Polish would rather play the game in English because it keeps their English language up to a good standard.

The basics are not changing, it’s just that you will not be able to get crit damage quite as high as before other than that nothing will change.

You are still going to want 100% crit chance when buffed and you are still likely to need a bit of extra precision from somewhere to get there.

Not true at all. The Assassin mix is so minorly better than full Berserker atm that even just the slightest nerf to critical damage would make Power > Precision. But it’s not even the slighest nerf, I believe it’s been calculated to be about 25-30%.

At first glance, absolutely. But just remember they are from the gem store, and returning them after the 15th patch will be a money-grabber ANet would be foolish to miss.

If you use level 20 you get copper dubloons so make sure it is at least 22.

21 works. Both my Ranger & Engineer are 21. You are right with 20 giving Copper Doubloons though.

Spending real life cash on pixels in any game is pretty stupid. Not gonna sugar coat it or say “if it makes you happy…”. It’s just flat out stupid. As others have said, you really need to invest in something other than that Commodore 64 your playing on so after a year or 2 when GW2 gets stale and the new “better” MMO comes out, you can actually play it. At the moment looking at those screenshots, it’s about the same as being 70% blind but buying a hi-def tv. What’s the point when you can’t even see good enough to enjoy it.

But in my opinion virtual items (“pixels”) are no less “real” than anything physical you can buy. None if it will do you any good once you’re dead anyways, so whatever brings you joy in the meantime is the only worthwhile measuring stick for something’s value. Plus the dude’s keeping the game profitable and free for everyone else, so I don’t see a problem, unless he is blowing money that he should be using on basic expenses like rent/food/transportation.

He is much smarter than those who bore themselves doing tedious tasks in-game they dislike for gold.

Unless a player is a very experienced flipper or investor, it is much better time management to do boring overtime (even on a minimum wage job) and buy gems than to do boring, menial in game tasks that the person doesn’t enjoy either. Of course, the exception is if you find an in-game money making method fun (i.e. I personally take great pleasure in running dungeons).

But yeah, OP really should have upgraded his PC with that money instead – but perhaps he is on a laptop while visiting family or something akin, and he has an absolute monster at home running 4x GeForce GTX TITAN Z.

Underwater combat is done the only way it can be given that there is an extra dimension to worry about.

The things that are bad about the underwater combat is your traits usually don’t reflect your underwater abilities (unless you’re lucky and are something akin to a Warrior with Greatsword traits as they also affect Spear) and some skills being unusable (ground targeted ones should just be PBAoE).

Norn are the best race in the game. We’ve known Snow Leopard & Bear elites are borderline OP since launch. Human offers nothing – especially not to a Warrior.

I’m pretty blown away by spark and zap. Must be because of the only needing 1 now? Idk.

My guess is there has been a recent monopolise attempt. I know someone hit Colossus (which has now recovered) and I’m pretty sure Spark was another victim. Seems likely Zap is a 3rd. This would also explain the “abnormal” price – being more costly than Dusk.

2012 Hallowe’en weapons will likely become the most expensive skins in the game IF ArenaNet stick to their word of never re-introducing the (they said they will not, but I can’t source this). SAB, Scarlet’s weapons, Monocle, Jetpack etc could all still return at any point – even though at least for the LS items that it wouldn’t fit.

We’ve known for over a decade that discontinued, tradeable skins are an abomination in online economies, yet developers still add them early on just to stop them later. ArenaNet are one of these developers who learned too late to make a difference.

Neither. Both are okay money, but nothing beats investments in terms of profit/minute.

I will state its better to do daily bosses than do dungeons on DR, but both are quite horrific and only for a short period per day before the dungeons are exhausted.

If the Pirate JP in LA is still available, that will be the best one to get your alts to as it has 4 loot rewards rather than the usual 3.

Stupid that people are crying about the Bifrost dye situation, 1 week later we get told it’s fixed. Yet the same situation with Juggernaut & the doubloons has had no comment since launch.

For PvE, Hammer is a useless weapon. Low damage and the wrong support. If you enjoy Axe, that will be the best choice – believe it or not, the best builds do NOT use the GS so don’t feel like you need to use one.

Think link will redirect you to the build. Currently the best build to run for PvE groups. If multiple Warriors are in your group, you just tell them you have the Banners as the usual builds will be doing slightly more personal DPS than you, but you raise the groups DPS through the roof.

Hammer really should be avoided at all costs, I’m still looking for the PvE scenario that is holds any use in.

Gain less? They gain the same. They can still withdraw as many skins as their charges allow them. The second weapon still has it’s stat changing functionality, as well as being BIS if ever a tier above ascended is released.

Where is the line drawn. What if I have 3 Ghastly Grinning Shields. Their peak is higher than FSP has ever been. Do I deserve a pretty title for that? Infinite Light is expensive too, what if I dual wield those. Say I have multiple Mjolnir. or Chainsaw skins.

People who were happy to purchase/craft 2 Legendaries deemed it worthwhile at the time. Asking for compensation every update is ludicrous. Shall I expect compensations when a new Legendary Spear is released that is cooler than my Kamohoali’i? No.

Besides, all in game items are the property of NCSoft and ArenaNet. Players deserve nothing.

No. Most players already have what they want ready. Those that don’t are likely dwarfed in comparison to those that are stocking up in hopes to turn a quick buck (likely such as yourself).

Some more remote or forgotten things may increase, but dyes, black lion skins and such “frontal” things are going to fall.

They don’t lose anything from the update, no matter how many of these threads appear this does not mean they deserve any compensation. With your logic, everybody in the game who has bought 2+ skins deserves something for “compensation” even though they lose absolutely nothing.

Too many people have bandwagoned onto this idea, and now it takes months and months for any ROI. As an example, Hallowe’en 2013 skins are still sitting at the event price 6 months on.

I only buy them immediately after release, when people whom have no idea of the average ticket price sell them instantly for my 20g offers.

The feature update on the 15th will hopefully be SAB World 3. There are still a few more things yet to be announced.

GW2 certainly isn’t the best MMO out there, but where else can I pay £40 and get THIS much out of a game? Truly stellar.

Quick question. I know it’s possible to solo Arah P3 using either 1) exploits, 2) cleric shouts for orbs, 3) teleporter consumable for orbs and finally 4) as a Norn.

Is there any further criteria that makes it possible?

The Mesmer traits look REALLY strong. I’ll call it now that they’ll have to be tweaked in a later patch and will be very briefly OP.
