I like most of that – not that it would ever make RNG chests good and absolutely never in a cash shop – except items that are no longer available, such as Kasmeer’s Staff & Grenth Hood, should not be possible to obtain. If they were, it would just be a blatant cash grab by ANet forcing people into RNG for their favourite items because they won’t put them at a static price again.

It’s not that the class mechanic is bad, it’s that Berserker’s Power is so strong. It’s … like a 10 trait point further investment, since every PVE build goes 20 in because Axe Mastery or Slashing Power. And it’s not like that line is a Healing/Vitality line, it gives Power too.

But we don’t need Berserker Power nerfed anymore, bumping it up to GM from Adept is enough.

I don’t know why players like OP insist on getting everything by farming themselves. By far the best way is to play for fun, then buy the boring, grindy materials off the TP from the bots.

Regardless, the farming spots for most materials were listed above. You could also EOTM Champ/Karma/WXP farm, because the champ bags will be effected by Magic Find come the 15th patch.

You can also get T6 fangs from Southsun Sharks I believe, as well as the Scales that Wanze mentioned.

It would take too much time to develop to an appropriate standard. Either it would be a hash and not a “child” at all and rather like the small chocolate from the boxes, or everybody would turn into the same generic model.

There is another parameter, that people forget to mention. Did your friends returned from a long offline period? Or do farm a lot more, than your friends? There is such thing in this game, which called diminished returns (DR). If u was farming yesterday for a whole day and, then, today, tested your chanced with a friends, who was away for a weak from the game….I would totally expect such results.

The “offline” mechanic is a rumor. Sure, diminishing returns is a thing, but it doesn’t work like that, it doesn’t take days to reset, I believe it is just 1 hour in a different area, so you can still be logged in.

The 15 point Minor in Strength means using your Burst gives 1 bar of endurance back, so that’s worth bearing in mind.

If it’s in regards to escape mechanics, our movement skills have always been slowed by cripple & chill – players are wizening up to that and making sure a “weak” Warrior remains under those conditions.

I need to retrieve my Scholar runes from my Saphir (Assassin) set come the Ferocity change as I replace them with Zojja (Berserker), but I simply can’t salvage for that, and it absolutely is not financially worth buying an extractor from the gem store. Silly, really.

Not to mention, your sample size may have been pathetically small. You’ll be surprised how many people farm for 1 measly hour then complain how rates are bugged.

Either you got less kills/hr, or you simply got unlucky in your hour. You had a higher chance per kill to roll for the “rarer” or “more desirable” drops, your friends were just fortunate.

Do note, that Magic Find does NOT take prices into account. For example you are not more likely to get “Yakkington’s X” (worth about ~10g) than you are “Khilbron’s X” (worth a lot less) at 200% magic find than you are at 20%. All you are is more likely to roll a level 80 named exotic armor piece.

Get what you like, not what you use (assuming you use the one you like at all, of course). If the Dreamer is your favourite, get it. If you prefer a Greatsword, get that. If the Spear is your favourite, get that. It’s not really an issue. Ultimately, you can just get several.

Off topic, but honestly, I find Thief a lot easier for PvE. You have blind spam, pistol whip, weakness and the possibility to trait for Feline Grace while learning the ropes.

The “refunded” ones may be account bound. Much like the PvP ones currently are.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the refunded ones follow the same. It would be very logical to have them that way.

You really don’t seem to get it. Want to know when the price for precursors started skyrocketing? It’s no coincidence that it happened at pretty much the exact same time that you started getting increased rewards.

It’s called inflation. More gold in the system means it costs more gold to get what you want. Want to reduce prices? Reduce the gold in the system.

Exactly. A lot of players get their money from champion bags – which are notorious for containing several silver each. They are changing this, so they give less gold. As compensation, they are being affected by Magic Find.

So this means that there is less gold and more things like T6/Exotics/Rares. It’s probably too late to cause a major effect, but it’ll stop prices skyrocketing again – at least until they announce something major again.

I think the “cultural” part is that it represents a specific culture, not that it should be usable by those only. You can look at, for example, Norn Stag armor and see that is represents a Norn’s culture.

Why would the Norn insist “We will only make this to fit Norn” when the armorsmiths would become rich by diversifying their potential customers just by offering to fit to other races too.

Regarding the video. I always find it a bit shameful that “preparation” (walking, buffing) are not counted in speedkills. You interacted with the boss when you walked to the wall, the timer should start there. No other speedkill does that though, they just want to make it look impressive with an unfair timer, so whatever.

This was a fair change. Don’t forget they buffed both to make up for the huge increase in investment required. It was too strong to have them both at 10 points. Personally, I think Berserker’s Power is fine where it is, but Heightened Focus should be a 20 point trait.

This is a funny one. Ele’s have a 25 trait investment for theirs, but it’s a minor trait. Warrior only requires 10 points, but is major. Awkward to balance there, especially since Warriors often go 25 points into Arms for a 10% modifier. Thief vuln on crit overpowered, same investment as Warrior but no ICD. Needs balancing and being put on par with Warriors.

7. Mace Nerfs/Unsuspecting Foe (GS/-Mace Shield build)

Was nerfed because most people assumed it applies to all disabled. It doesn’t. Not a good choice to nerf this one, but if it’s as powerful as people think they shouldn’t mind investing 20 points, right?

I don’t think the issue with Flamekissed was that cultural was available to all. The issue was it was an “improved” (subjective) version of Human T3, for cheaper & usable to all. If every cultural armor was usable by every race, sure it loses its “cultural” nature, but nobody would be feeling cheated.

I’d like Asura T3 for my Human Warrior, but not something I ever expect.

This is the first time a Precursor has reached a “stable” price of >1000g. Any other occasion previously has been due to some muppet trying to monopolize (it never works).

Reasons for this are:
1) Account Bound Legendaries.
2) Confirmation that anything to do with Precursor Crafting/Scavenging is NOT in the 15th build.
3) Wardrobe system.
4) Inflation continuing – gold being more worthless than ever.
5) A lot of people believethat unlocking Sunrise/Twilight skins post patch, then crafting Eternity to sell on the TP and keeping SR/Twilight skins.

A ranger isn’t meant to be someone who attacks “from range”. They’d be called an Archer if that was the case. A Ranger in this case is a roamer, a wanderer. Common misconception. Naming the class Ranger was a terrible decision for this very reason.

Honestly, a speedrun would kick you at the sight of you being an Engineer so you wouldn’t be able to get in a pug quality one worth its salt. Pugs be pugs.

Crit damage is, but Precision will still be extremely important.

At launch for a short period, all races could use all other races cultural. This was changed, can’t remember the reason.

Then that Flamekissed armor came out in the Gemstore – which if you didn’t know the Light armor was Human Light T3 reskinned to be “flamey” – this caused a gargantuan uproar. ArenaNet rightfully caved in and admitted their mistakes, removed & changed all existing armor to what it is today.

As to why I can’t go to an Asuran vendor and buy that awesome T3 for my Human Warrior is simply unanswerable though. If all races could use all races armor, there would be no crying anywhere. Those seeking “exclusivity” in an online community are foolish.

You haven’t given any information on what class you run, or where you intend to use gear. So follow these simple guidelines as a base:

• WvW Zergs? Go PVT
• PvE Dungeons? Zerker only please
• WvW Roaming? That will require you looking more indepth to your class
• Open world PvE? Why do you even care about your stats?

No thanks. Keep the Gem Store for Cosmetics & Convenience only. This item goes a little beyond being “convenient”.

Use the sword and amuse yourself all the way to level 80. Not only is it the best weapon set, but it is by far the most fun weapon set in the game – especially if you’re a large character.

Short answer:

1) All classes are viable when played/built correctly.
2) The classes you mentioned are often excluded because PUGs are notorious for running the wrong build. Bearbows, Staff Necro & FT Engie most of the time, all of which are atrocious and offer literally nothing to the group.

Elementalist, so you can stack Might resulting in your friend being able to put down that awful Greatsword and pick up pure-axe.

Shout builds are atrocious for a commander. What use is a commander who isn’t running stability, but has FGJ, SIO and OMM? Oh yes, none, because you’re getting flinged around by every Tornado, Spectral Wall & blocked by every Line under the sun.

That is my thought. I know I wouldn’t bother doing the event, and there’s no way to “guest” to an open server using API sites. The real question is will it be enough of an offput if it is a problem to have a large effect on supply.

To be honest, you guys have thus far really screwed over the new players who have just recently purchased the game, or came in after the glory removal, who want their cultural skins.

Gold is worth less than ever currently. 119g is nothing in comparison to what it was for “older” players when they wanted their T3.

With the Megaserver change, it is reasonable to expect it to be much more difficult to run contestable dungeons. Namely COE & COF, which drop Charged & Molten cores/lodestones.

Charged lodestones are needed in great numbers for:

• Bolt
• Sunrise
• Meteorologicus
• Mjolnir
• Infinite Light
  And to a lesser degree (7), Light of Dwayna.

Molten lodestones are needed in great numbers for:

• Juggernaut
• Incinerator
• Rodgort
• Volcanus

With the addition of the wardrobe system too, it is also reasonable to expect the demand of the above items to increase. Am I overestimating the reduction in supply and the increase in demand too much, or am I correct in saying lodestones are going to rise?

There is likely an ICD. It’s a bad trait anyway, a 6 second might stack overrides the longer ones from Eles.

It may be a seasonal thing (although I don’t see the correlation), but when money is involved, I’m sure it’ll spring back out of season soon.

I agree with Flissy although I do understand why it is seasonal.

It’s been out for 1 wintersday. We don’t even know if they intend on bringing it back for next wintersday. Regardless because of the shear volume of people asking for it I think it is likely we will see it again.

But is it actually seasonal, can you explain how, or are people just assuming it is because it happened to be Wintersday when it was released?

Lorewise, grenth is one of 2 or 3 gods typically associated with wintersday in Tyria. Grenth and Dwayna are the main gods, but I did see someone mention balth but I don’t know that lore. Anyway that’s why they are considered festival hats.

It’s difficult to gauge.

A few things to bear in mind:

• Character slots are on sale, and bag/bank slots were on sale a few days ago. This means gem prices are high currently.
• People will want to buy the gem-store armor sets after the feature patch leading to an increased cost of gems.
• This is a speculation of mine, but with the account bound nature of dyes coming, it would be unlike ANet to miss an opportunity to flood us with the Gem Store dyes again – especially as they were not included in any of the March sales (except the new releases).

If I were a gold→gem merchant, I’d exchange on the 13th or 14th.
