~ Its still a sync problem. I am almost a 100% sure of it.
Why else would almost every other leap or rush skill suffer from similar issues of just not connecting to the target.
On top of that, have you guys not noticed that often when you try to hit some guy that is already downed you dont even hit him because he actually lies 10 feet away?
Or that dolyak whose corpse suddenly jumps a full screenlength further down the road after killing it ?
Has nothing to do with the skills themselves.
Edit:
Oh, couple that with all the performance and lagg frustration that is going on atm.. yup.
On top of that, Anet might not be the fastest with content and other awesome stuff, but bug fixes usually go by quite fast like with that thief bug that just happened after the update.
Of course they wont notice any issues with rush etc on their testing servers because those most likely dont suffer from sync problems.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Lol at that insane furious reaction buff.
The warrior only needs one thing right now: 3 second delay before adrenaline decay after you recieved it.
Wow. I just wanted to create this topic!
Please, consider giving it neutral colours so that it fits with every armordyes.
This orange browny colour is just not going to work well with pretty much any colour.
Alright, so what you want to look for is exotic items. Don’t bother with rare or below most of the time.
There are now multiple ways of getting the gear you want and it depends on the stats you want to go for.
If you have been doing WvW the cheapest gear can be bought from the WvW-armor NPC. 80s-1g on average + some WvW tokens for a one piece of exotic gear.
You can also run some dungeons and buy your gear with dungeon tokens. This might probably take a few days if you have not done any yet. The dungeons sellers are in Lions arch on the far east. A row of coin-staples on the map. You’d have to run the flame citadel for berserker gear a few times for example.
If you have the crafting professions already leveled it is very cheap to craft yourself some armor and weapons. If you have yet to start any crafting professions it is going to be a little of a gold investment. 20g on average to get to level 400.
However you want to level those at some point anyway, since ascended gear can only be crafted.
Of course you can also buy your gear straight off the TP, which is what I did on my first character but I did not know better. I paid 15g for a full set where I could have gotten it for half the cost on those WvW-npcs.
15g is not much at all, but on your first character it matters I guess.
Then there is Karma and the karma-vendors. 42k karma each piece. I guess you most likely wont have enough karma on your first character though, I sure as hell did not.
Edit: Trinkets you’ll have to buy from the TP or craft btw.

Killing mobs should give a lot more exp in general. Atleast 3 times as much. If not even more to keep up with the other ways of gaining experience.
I am not sure how it is now but pre-patch farming some ore node gave me 3 times as much exp as killing a mob.
The very first character I played and leveld up I did a lot of mob farming around the citadel of flame. Infact I did 4 levels just by grinding mobs. Thats it, not even a single quest or event. Just grinding the flame legion. (All dat linen)
Once I reached level 80 I actually went back to that place to grind some more for a few days. (Even more linen! was quite profitable back then.)
Anyway, little did I know back then kitten like Diminishing returns on mob loot exists. I often felt I would get less after a certain time but I did not even know this mechanic exists or is being used. Never have I encountered it in other MMOS.
Dont get me wrong, I am super happy its not another grind MMO that take 3 months to reach level 80 and another 6 months for your gear. I do however genuinely enjoy grinding mobs in a small area.
Getting back to topic (somewhat):
Its especially tedious to level up alts. All this walking around and all those heart quests and events.. GAAH! It was fun the first few days but it gets old reaaaally fast. EoTM is even worse, you dont pay attention for a second and your zerg is gone.
Why cant I level up alts as fast as others by just grinding mobs for 30 minutes in an area and then move on to the next spot. That way I could atleast contribute to the thoughtful discussions on teamspeak and not having to read the thoughtless quest tasks and skipping through 3 films worth of cutscenes, lol!
Man, sorry for the little offtopic, had to get that out for once.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
I have noticed the same. Pre-patch I always wondered why so many people have problems with Rush and Bull’s charge etc. Mine always hit.
But the last couple days I noticed it too. I’d say atleast 1/4 of those attacks are not connecting.
I imagine it has something to do with sync problems? I cannot imagine it being a skill bug since it happens on all those leap abilites.
Bump!
on top of that, my smallest sized norn lady is super small in the preview window. I can barely see the detail!
Some major buggs happening with preview windows since patch. Please fix!
I agree with adrenaline on hit being baseline.
Its would help us greatly.
On top of that if someone slaps you in the face you gain adrenaline and most likely want to slap them even harder
The problem ist we are unheard. Simple as that. I highly doubt Anet employed guys that simply read the forums and summarize all the feedback for the rest of the team to work on it.
Being honest, It would be quite a ridiculous job anyway with all the kitten that gets posted on a daily basis and most of it 3 times in a row.
We as a community should work on summarizing what we actually want to get changed and then hand that to Anet via I dont know how…
Look at this one:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/What-if-Arching-Slice-was-like-this/first#post4404624
I was honestly suprised many just agree just like that, no complains. And its true, that would certainly be a viable and great fix for noodle slice. Something like this should be done to rework all the warriors abilities to make them balanced.
Noone knows how to balance anything better than we, those who play day by day.
Its rude to say and probably not fair but I bet we know the game better than the devs. To be honest its not something they should be ashamed of anyway… They’ve got a lot of other stuff to do aswell. Its only logical we know the game better and that has been proven on many other games aswell.
We should help them to help us because at the current state nothing is going to happen, face it.
We need to take the initiative here.
What do you think?
Op talks about roaming and you guys suggest Longbow.
Longbow in WvW is medicore if not bad. It only is that great in PvP because you have to secure areas which happen to be smaller as the burst shot radius.
Longbow in WvW have never been meta.
Brb, gotta press F to entertain the cow.
Great post!
Its really sad seeing a great company like Arenanet struggle with their game, but once a compay gets to large it has to rely on unreliable metrics and statistic rather than actual feedback from people who play the game every day.
It is understandable though. They would have to hire atleast another 20 people to read, sort and collect all the feedback. Filter things that get post multiple times etc.
Its probably a lot more than 20 people in the full pipe line until community feedback hits a patch.
All that costs money… because games this large have become a business rather than a hobby you do because you love it.
On the other hand indie companies manage to listen to their gamers (most of the time) and sell millions of copys of their game with just a handful of employees.
Thats life.
It is really bad. To put it into perspective:
You kill a risen mob on cursed shore and managed to get your adrenaline to full.
You want to eviscerate the next risen for full damage (all 3 bars) that is about 5 meter away.
You CANT. the adren dropped below 2 bars already.
Pre-patch warrior would walk over half the map (crused shore) without combat and without loosing adrenaline at all… the difference is insane, lol.
Longbow shines the most in WvW right now. The rangers or now archers best friend is making sure to suprise and abuse the unawareness of the enemy.
This games archery sucks at roaming, atleast the longbow. You need to go glass or you deal no damage and when the enemy is prepared he can counter you sooo easily.
Its all about the suprise factor. Make sure the enemy is busy and probably spent most of his dodges/skills and then BAM 22k damage in ~2.5 seconds.
Make sure to stay at max range all the time and just circle around the hotspots on the map where zergs meet. Circle around your commander but never go closer than 2000 range. Once you picked your pray make a step forward to get in range and kill him. You dont even needto stomp him – just keep shooting.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Puh, not ingame atm. Out of my head I’d say it feels like it takes ~5 seconds. And the decay starts instantly when ooc. The decay rate has been twice as long pre patch but thats not really the problem. The rate is fine now, the instant decay is not.
3 seconds before decay would be optimal and balanced as it is right now. Hell even 1 1/2 seconds would help.
More importantly should there be a delay between gain and decay when OOC. I already stated in another thread that all adren gain abilities are useless ooc and in combat aswell because there are other methods to gain adren faster than you can spend it in combat anyway.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
I agree man. Its really really good.
I do not agree with the condition roamers though, lol. Atleast not on my server.
Havent fought a condition build since patch and I’ve been WvW’ing the whole time.
I honestly have not seen much pre-patch either.
Interesting how this varies between servers.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Oh I see… while reading I had thought you have troubles expressing yourself (lol whoops, sorry man )
I just could not imagine Anet would make such a mistake, well actually I am not suprised now after second thought.
lol
Mad about the 5% dmg nerf on 100b and Whirlwind?
- No
Wanna have that 5% dmg back?
- Got that covered already. Applies to my hammer aswell
I am serious. I am running empowered right now because I felt leg specialist is getting more and more obsolete since I now run bulls rush aswell on my GS/HA war.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Oh wow. I get it. Fully built for eviscerate and AA spamming.
You never want your bust to non crit in this case. Thus the Grandmaster trait.
also exchanged the vuln. shout for the banner. Gets you back the lost critchance since I went for full zerker gear now. (you’ve got enough vuln. with the axe #2 and the trait.)
The zerker gear gets you much more power and crit damage aswell.
Also went for a power stacking sigil to get even more damage. You want those evis’es to hit as hard as possible.
So yea 66000 atleast. the last 2 points for the traits currently in adren gain when shouting. You can take empowered if you want aswell, you’ll have plenty of boons in a dungeon party especially with a guardian.
You could also take warriors sprint or even trait to reduce signet recharge for more elite uptime. Pick at will.
Edit: you might want to drop the shield btw. Get a mace for more vuln.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Sure, if its not the same sigil type. Otherwise you would not benefit from fast hands since most have a 9 second cooldown. Theoretically you could have 4 different weapon swap sigils on 2 axes.
That being said I wonder if 2 main hand axes is good for anything, especially post-patch.
If you only have one axe that you use on both weapon sets (Possible just like that) you would not be able to get the effect every 5 seconds on weapon swap since it has a 9 second cooldown and counts as one weapon.
If you have two axes it should work like normal. I dont get it though, you have only one weapon swap sigil selected, so what exactly are you asking for ?
Well, its tough. I tweaked my build a bit and I am doing okay, not nearly as good as pre-patch but that probably has to do with the changes of other classes just as much.
I find it harder to fight guards now and I have yet to win a dual against a mesmer since patch. Actually those ~8 mesmer encouters I got #rekt fast man!
Thiefes are the same as before, if he knows how to play you loose. If he does not → free bag. Medicore thiefes are harder to fight as before though.
Add in the factor that I am not the best warrior and still need to get used to my adjustments.
I barely encouter any condi players though, cant say much regarding that. The new trait is doing wonders though and condis in larger groups are non-existant for me.
Just happened to slap a sigil of rage on my GS aswell while testing new builds. Glad there is already a thread concerning this. Did you also submit a ticket? Posting on the forums wont help.
Great posts guys!
After I got my head together and cooled down a bit I sat down and thought about what just happened to the warrior and how to get back on our feet.
The changes ANet made are actually spot on, its just that they went a little bit to far.
Except for the longbow abuse I honestly have to say the viable build diversity has increase a lot! At least for WvW and PvP. I am not really a PvE guy and since PvE is all about damage which I find boring I wont talk about it as much in this post. (Sorry PvE guys)
Pre-patch WvW builds were mostly about that 00626 GS/Hammer roaming and bunker builds that go deep into tactics for zergs. Aswell as the hambow in PvP. Imo, these have been the most effective at their department.
I have now crafted builds like double endure pain, Gs+sword, bullsrush or effective LB/GS builds that seem to be on par with the GS/Hammer meta in roaming for example. They work quite well atleast. Even the Shield and reflect got indirect buffs because of the probably new LB ranger meta. I certainly see a lot more viable builds now. Even for PvP although not as much.
Let me talk about the patch for a bit.
Greatsword nerfs – meh, whatever.
Other minor buffs – why not.
Now, our problem child AS. I wont see myself using AS a lot. Its more of a condition cleanse for GS/Hammer builds now instead of an execution skill. And because of the adrenaline nerf everything that uses 2 powerful adreanline skills got nerfed. Post-patch you certainly dont want to spam burst-attacks anymore.
I even see it being used in Zerg-builds. 15 conditions cleansed with one attack – lol. Brilliant!
However I feel its damage needs to get buffed or else it wont be what it was advertised to be.
Adrenlaine (If you skip large posts, atleast read this paragraph below – important!)
The adrenaline on loss – Awesome, I love it. Was needed for a long time.
Adrenaline decay is something I have to talk about now.
With the current changes its virtually a waste to use Healing surge, signet of fury or berserker stance outside of combat. The gained adrenaline just falls of the second we get it. You cant even maintain one bar of adrenline with berserker stance.
Also the decay as you go out of combat is to fast for PvE. In WvW it was an essential part of the warrior to retreat if things got to hot, let healing signet heal you up and go back in. Its not being a kitten, its smart play.
How to fix those two things while not making it as broken and lazy as it was before?
Easy.
A 3 second delay before decay begins outside of combat AND after you gained adrenaline at any time. That allows you to use Zerker stance OOC and gain all 3 bars with 3 seconds to do something with it. It allows you to use signet of fury and healing surge and actually use all 3 bars!
Also it makes it possible to open up with evis or something on PvE mobs when farming. It also helps tramendously to keep adrenaline up when a thief tries to get you ooc now. It would fix all our problems, because as it stand now 3 of our adrenaline gain skills are useless and its impossible to use our class mechanic in simple PvE farming and between elite mobs in dungeons.
Tl;DR
- Buff AS by atleast 25% damage below the threshold, or give us what you promised us.
- Implement a 3 second time window before adrenaline decay after combat and adren gain.
- Make combustive shot require a hit on enemy (not ground) to trigger CI to increase build diversity even more.
Do this and the warrior is going to be in a perfectly balanced spot that requires skill to use and is usefull for any game mode if being build and played correctly.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
>The solution is obvious. Nerf FT.
That would render the sword useless on a power spec. Not gonna happen. Two handed weapons already are far superior than most dual wield specs, which is silly imo.
@Skylight
2.5s actually. Rangers dedicate a 60s CD utility to produce the short of burst you are thinking of.. which again.. Warriors or nearly any class can do with their burst they just choose not to because they want other things.
nice try but with a trait its less than that. all you really have to do now to be good at ranger to kill any light class or even some medium classes is press 2 and then 3 and then 1. thats it. its the new dummy class.
You never ever want to open up with Rapid fire (Except the enemy has aegis). You loose ~3k damage if you do. Boost your opening strike AA with percentage damage and then follow up with RF. on average its 6k + 15k damage. Lowest has been 4k + 9k on some heavy armor warrior. Highest around 9k + 18k damage within 2 seconds it feels like.
Edit: oh, add another 1300 damage to any of above if your lightning strike sigil procs.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
It really is kinda OP. The tradeoffs are huge though. It only becomes really OP as a full zerker ranger.
Just a few minutes ago. Some 3 people capping a guardpost in WvW as I walk in.
- 9k AA crit against some super low armor/HP elementalist with only 70% health left.
- Followed up with I assume some 15k RF (average atm for me) on a thief just as he goes into stealth.
- killed the third guy with a mix of AA – invis – maul crit etc.
The first two people didnt even see me coming and could’nt react to it at all.
Then again, A full Rain of arrows into a zerg gets me killed most likely (retaliation).
If I get caught once I die in seconds. Conditions eat me for breakfast and signet of stone only helps that much on a class that cant ecsape like a thief or warrior.
The range and the buffs certainly helped to make a longbow sniper viable – I consider it viable now and pretty OP in certain scenarios but it also gets killed as fast as it kills.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Surely it is in PvE. But I never liked all the hassle with 100b in WvW, thus i rarely used it in this game mode. I was looking forward to the new GS burst.
Of course it still hits harder as it did before, but considering the huge adren nerfs a GS/Hammer build is not optimal when you want to get the most out of your adren, not anymore and certainly not with adren health.
Well… GS+ sw/sh has some devestating power if the enemy is blow 50% now. Its super fun, but getting there is the problem. Its much much easier to control the oponent and bring him below 50% with the hammer, it always was.
Thus I’ll try sw/sh+Hammer again for a while as I think it makes the most out of your adren. If you land ES you wont need adren health that much since the enemy is stunned anyay and couple that with other CCs you have its fine. Flurry is no skill that you “need” you have great bursts with final strike.
Considering the longbow ranger infestation what will likely take over for the next months, shield reflect seems reasonable and fun
Of course you’ll lack movement with this setup. Its all very frustrating to me atm.
So, are you still using GS in WvW? I am trying to come up with something close to as good as what I had before this patch, but its hard. Probably going to be Hammer+sw/sh again.
See, this is what I meant. All of the changes are great actually. Adrenaline is harsh but kitten is it fun and challenging.
Its just that burst skills are not fun anymore. All of them hit like noodles or have a risk where I’d rather not press f1, keep adren health for the current fight and stab my oponent with final thrust.
And then the worst of all – empty promises. All would have been fine if they’d kept it like in the preview. AS would have hit so hard to compensate for the other burst skill noodles (for now).
Well, look at it in a positive way. Sword and board might actually be worth another look now. Especially since 2/3 players are longbow snipers atm Already reflected some crazy range crits, lol.
Ahaha, you creative little bugger. Those might stacks are kittening brilliant! How come I havent tried this. Difficult to use in a practicly way, but not impossible. But yea, this needs to get patched asasp. Glad multiple key-press macros are a ban reason, else youd never see a warrior without 25 stacks.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
I wonder why we havent gotten any official response yet.
I was so pumped to finally use greatsword more often but I guess I’ll stick with Sw/sh in WvW. At least final thrust does execute someone with ~40% health. Hell it doesnt even use adren.
The greatsword probably cant even keep up with a full hammer rotation in terms of raw damage, I am pretty sure it cant.
Where did they say 100% ? I already stated in another thread that we got a toned down version which is just unfair without any explanation.
In the ready up video he says “bonus damage to enemy below 50% health”… It leads me to believe this phrasing was intentional to open up the chance for them to change it if they feel like it.
Well, the new version is a lot better than the wet noodle we had before, but its not enough for the risk involved with all the adren changes.
Warrior is getting parked now.
I for one, will work on my ranger longbow burst build next. Dat attack speed guys.
Archery is going to be viable now. They got as strong as archers in Lineage II
I forsee them dominating in organized groups.
Edit: yup, just double checked.
The version we have is nowhere near the same as the guy in the ready up video used. We certainly got ninja-nerfed.
You see, its not the worst thing that I may miss 3-4k damage on that skill now, its more that we got promised something we did not recieve without any statement.
Somehow I still hope its a bug.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
I did some heavy calculations once I saw the video. After comparing everything I came to the conclusion the tooltip dps would be around 2400 in my build. its 1800.. WHAT?!
4k crit ? thats it ? nto even the 7k I was promised.
I’ll do some further testing, but to me it looks like yet again, a ninja nerf.
Edit: where has the great animation gone btw. we were shown some great new instant bang. Its essentially the same as the hammer swing now.
Edit: 6k crit with 2700 power and 205% crit damage. Against a low armor risen. We should be in the 7k region on mobs with some armor now.
could maybe push the 7k fully buffed with food and atleast 10might..
Yep, all dreams gone.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
Thanks Stephane. I do not questions your research, and maybe everything is justified. I might even be a better experience for new players.
But for the love of all of us, come up with a solution for veteran players. Please address that in the next meeting of yours.
Maybe, upon reaching level 80, give us a scroll to instantly level up an alt to level 80 (or 40) who also gets that scroll. After a few alts you have seen it all and just dont want to grind again.
An interesting thought Valento. The reputation might suffer from this, have the devs not thought about that?
We’ll see.
PvP (and WvW) is still available at level 1. Just the icon on the top of the screen is hidden. You can still get there through a portal or hot key.
Ah, alright. Glad I never use the portals or hotkeys, guess I get some hotkeys going if I ever need it.
From reading those forums, I think I start to get it. The majority of the people whining about GW2 are the ones who bought this game only for the PVE when it’s NOT meant to be a pve game. GW1 was ALL about pure pvp and Anet tried to please both ends with Gw2 but they failed (because pve in gw2 is EASY as kitten and has no challenge at all).
So you people should just go find some random solo rpg-like game if mindlessly bashing creeps is more your thing instead of whining about how the pve is boring and plain in a game where the PVP is the interesting thing.
This guy gets it right.
All the easy instances, the laugable bosses etc etc should be a hint enough to everyone that this game is not a PVE game. If I can steamroll a max-level dungeon wiht 3 people only by pressing a button then its not meant to be challenging.
This is infact a pure pvp game much like GW1
Sadly, you have to grind your butt through Pve to be good at WvW. and even PvP is now only available at, what, level 15 or something?! lol
I have to agree with the OP.
New players are always awesome. I love helping new guys and answer all their questions as much I enjoyed getting my questions answered in the beginning.
Seems like there is no need for that anymore. It indirectly dumps down the communication in low level zones and even teamspeak and among friends. Sad.
I guess its the way things are inevitably heading. It is alraedy incredible hard to communicate with stranges outside because everyone only stares at their kittening smartphones, now it continues online…
Spoonfed society. Where is the thrill and fun of the unknowing and exploring… the “wtf is that” moments and trying to solve the mystery of why I got killed and rally’ed a half a second later… ah, forgive my drama. :<
edit:
This is like Fisher-Price ‘My First MMO’, seriously.
:D True, funny and sad…
It would make no sense whatsoever to raise the level cap with the current game mechanics. Infact I am happy to play a game that is not about grinding levels for half a year.
A clear NO. No plans, no news, wont happen anytime soon. Hopefully never.
The target audience is now officially not the gamer itself, but kittens.
This game is the easiest(!) MMO I have ever played. Its newb-friendly, easy to understand the mechanics and you level up so fast you dont even have the chance explore the entire map without hitting level 120++, just that it caps out at 80.
1) Downstate at level 5 is no good for new players. They get used to one system and then suddenly have to adept and probably go like “Wait, wut happening.. I can throw stones?” Instead of letting them learn this feature from level 1 on. And no, a “Did you know” window wont help. Who reads tutorial windows anyway?!
2) No Wardrobe at level1…. WHAT?! That is the most important thing to me. The first thing I would do after the tutorial sequence was going to have a look at what skins are available for the character. This determines wether I want to play the class or not. Now I have to waste even more time before I get the chance to look at the available options.
3) All skills unlocked at lvl10 instead of kills per weapon is fine to me. On most classes it would take longer to unlock all weapons now as it would after the patch. To think players are to dumb to read 5 (FIVE!) skill tooltips is insulting. This game has only 5 active skills at a time.. kittening five skills. Other mmos have like 30+?
4) What was that about having to unlock vistas and point of interests on the map now? Thats probably okay for new accounts, but certainly not for alts. I leveled a character to level 6 by fully exploring all major cities – cant do this anymore.
Back when I started GW2, my friend would join me in the starter zone in his full exotic gear and tell me to follow him. “Sure thing buddy…” After 5 minutes I begged him to slow down because I diddnt know what the kitten was going on and why I’d get random XP everywhere.
So yea, probably a good change for fresh accounts, NOT for alts.
5) Until level 9 you wont see ores and trees on the map anymore… haha, this is so dumb I dont know where to begin with. As stated above, after my friend dragged me around the map for 5 minutes just after me entereing the game world I created a NEW character and took a close look at everything myself. I quickly noticed I was going to need gold. Level 5-10 I did nothing else than farming copper ore and trees. I was shocked that I would level that fast farming materials since I initially wanted to wait for a third friend of mine who bought the game with me… well, I left him behind that day.
So yea, new players cant even get some easy silver now.. Sad, really really sad.
6) As for the ranger in the video, no pet command until level 6? You might aswell remove the pet entirely please. Enjoy your pet eating AOE attacks left and right while you try do doge around and get that copper ore, or wait – I almost forgot…
Don’t get me wrong A-net. I loved this update so far, I even seem to be among the only ones that welcome the warrior nerfs and I main a warrior. But those changes are just absolutely horrible. Glad I probably wont need to go through low level content anymore.
On a side note, its sad to see people think this game is hard, or was hard. Infact the hardest thing was to open the game-box if you even recieved a physical one.
Meh Banners need more work anyway.
But I agree with the OP. It says “fully revive” but its actually a heal. It esentially is a misleading tooltip.
While I am at it. I always hated the banner system. I’ll drop some offtopic thoughts since I dont think something like will happen anyway thus I spare you another topic…
The skills that come with banners are a joke. The only really usefull ones are the ative buffs like fury or stability on the battle standard. Id say get rid of the rest of them and rework how they function entirely.
A) Only one banner per warrior allowed, you cannot summon two at once.
B) Do not make them summon on the ground, I want to wield them on my back as I summon them, thus remove the option to pick them up, too.
C) When I have summoned one of them onto my back I can run around with the banner and use the active buffs as an addtional skill. (F2)
Especially for WVW that would be amazing, I could run around with my Battle standard on my back while still wielding the hammer and all its skills aswell. If its needed I can pop stability (F2) and the passive banner bonus always follows us around.
The Strength Banner active could give some might, the tactic banner regen maybe. Etc.
It might turn out a bit to strong, if thats the case reduce the banners uptime or effects.
Or replace the burst skills with the banner active.
Stationary banners are just boring and not fun.
(edited by Flitzie.6082)
I assume you will only spend 2/3 of your adrenaline on a miss aswell.
So yea, we kinda depend on it even more. But not only that.
Since the new arcing slice will deal full damage on only 1 bar of adrenaline I foresee a lot of awesome dual burst-skill action which many builds can profit from.
Yeah I am against it, too. Legendary weapons turned this game into starwars already. We dont need more flashy/glowing whatever effects.
I, for one, welcome the warrior changes.
Good thiefes are certainly the hardest thing to fight against, not as warrior maybe. But I have my troubles with it on my warrior. Landing an Earthshaker on a stealthed thief and seeing my adrenaline go down was a great indiciation of wether I hit him or not and I was able to follow up with more skills to damage the thief.
This mechanic will be gone now, ill miss it. Thiefes will be even harder to fight.
Additionally, whenever a thief attacks out of stealth there should be some visible effects. I’ve seen it sometimes and then I can dodge. But the thief attacking without revealing or effects is kinda stupid. I have no counterplay to them.
Considering the fact that warrior skills most of the time are easy to doge, its quite hard to fight them for me…
halp!
Psssh. Juba – let noone know!
Yet again, all my builds are getting buffed. Sure as hell I keep playing.
If you want to run dungeons with friends you can probably take whatever you want aslong as its somewhat built for damage.
This game suffers from a lot of “elitists” though, which will bash on you if you dont run a certain build.
That being said one of the best reasons to have ranger around in a dungeon party was his frost spirit which ulitmately got ninja nerfed and has a 10 seconds cooldown on its effects now. This spirit, pre-nerf, would give the entire party around 7% extra damage. Now its probably around 1 or 2% so its not worth it anymore.
The Longbow is not a good weapon for all those close quarter dungeons since you will most likely never be able to hit at full range for its full damage. Swapping it for a greatsword is probably the better option. Melee zerker ranger is dangerous though, you need to be able to dodge well.
Now, I would’nt kick you for using a longbow aslong as you dont push those mobs around all the time. There are people who do that, so be prepared and dont loose your spirits!
tl:dr – For dungeons there are certainly better options than a ranger, but if its the class you enjoy then stick to it. All this meta game needs to come to an end anyway!
if you want to min-max your ranger for dungeons I suggest looking at this video:

Edit: UnitedChaos said something very valuable. Dont limit yourself. He is certainly right. Explore your class and do what you think is best for you.
If it still does 6k+ damage. Sure, why not.
No, leave it as is – The Greatsword needs a high spike damage skill again after those millions of hundred blade nerfs.
Edit: Change 100b to a skill that cleanses 2 conditions if it hits. 300 range. 10s cooldown.
