Limited anything is bad for an MMO as far as I’m concerned. Discourages new blood while offering little in the way of prestige. No, nobody is impressed over somebody shelling out a hundred bucks trying to score a rare weapon skin from the RNG chest.
That said, it probably works wonders for their gem shop.
Right now I have no expectations. They took my mini straight out of my bank, told me that my fused weapon skin wasn’t tradable after all just because and nerfed a bunch of belongings simply because they could.
It has become blatantly obvious to me that they have zero respect for their players. Who knows, they might even take active pleasure in playing whack-a-mole with us. Whatever the case is I’ve stopped hoping that things will improve. Guild Wars 2 is still fun enough but it will never live up to its true potential.
Only newly obtained skins in select sets are tradable. In the past, we intended those skins to be account-bound and not tradable. After the change, these skins will remain account-bound and not tradable. We will continue to monitor the value of those skins, but at this time, there is no plan to make tradability retroactive.
So let me get this straight. People who kept their tokens which they earned in the past are allowed to get the new tradable skins but everybody who redeemed their token, which they also earned, for skins are now SOL?
… How does that make any sense whatsoever? Are players supposed to rely on complete and utter guesswork to get anywhere in this game now? Fix your kitten issue instead of throwing around excuses. The item clearly does not behave the way it should according to its description. If this is a technical issue which you can’t resolve due to engine limitations or something then just say that.
Got the same problem with a Fused Dagger Skin which I’ve had sitting in the bank for a long time now. It says it isn’t account bound but it still acts like it is. Hope we can expect a fix soon.
She needs a grace period, simple as. The community is filled with impatient kittens and ArenaNet should be aware of this by now. It’s not cool to screw a bunch of hard working players out of their achievements just because they’ve got worse load times.
The problem is that they can’t seem to design hard encounters without resorting to lame instant kill AoEs. Yes, we get it, dodging is cool but isn’t it time we start making fights about more than just dodging the evil circles of death?
… And if not can we at least make pets take significantly less damage from them? While I’m not a ranger I do miss my minion master build.
so are you saying its fair that a single class can run around with 5 pets when most if not all skills are limited by a 5 target limit ? pet who not only provide powerful effects, but also gain the benefits from boons
Do you remember how the AoE limit came about? No, I don’t think the limit is okay and I’d like to see it removed personally but it’s important to remember what caused it.
Players still whinge about AoEs and ironically enough you’re now whinging about a hard counter to said AoEs.
I don’t see the issue here. One benefit of running a pet heavy build is the additional cover pets offer. This is working as intended and piercing counters it.
I’d rather they add body blocking. Would give smaller races a natural disadvantage and make positioning a lot more important. Doubt it will ever happen though.
except this wasn’t an exploit, there were no rules being broken.
While not an exploit in that sense people did exploit the fight for easy gains.
And then some of those people asked for the fight to get nerfed once they were satisfied with how much dosh they had made. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an MMO community as messed up as this one to be honest. The gold obsession is just ridiculous.
He sometimes just spams killshots in melee range now. Good job on making the fight all about that sweet RNG. Oh well, at least it stops people from farming him. Oh wait, no, that only applies to certain classes. Does anybody ever playtest this stuff?
And in many ways the dudes get the short end of the stick. Especially when it comes to armor designs. Just look at the Phoenix armor. The female version is, albeit revealing, a fairly creative outfit whereas the dude version is potato sack number who knows anymore. Want to trade, ladies?
Just goes to show how poorly designed these encounters really were. If it ruins the challenge of the fight then why not give the boss a way to counter it instead of just removing it?
Engineer. Necromancers are very lackluster in bigger conflicts since they lack meaningful damage mitigation. Shroud only works in smaller fights so while they excel at SPvP they fall behind when it comes to the rest of the game.
As a proud Asura all I want is a blasted boot toggle. My undoubtedly superior toes are tired of being held back by these inferior human foot devices. I sympathize with you furballs and your plight.
The PvE portion of this game is pretty much dead except for the grind and that’s a kitten shame. I blame bad encounter design. Too much AoE spam and too much one hitting which makes anything but zerking pointless. Forget about playing a ranger or a minion master because the game just doesn’t support it.
I know that feeling. It’s like I’m playing a racing game instead of a fantasy MMORPG. Where is the sense of adventure in this? I don’t think I’ve seen a single dungeon cutscene yet even.
She isn’t an unfair fight because she requires skill. She is an unfair fight because of the awful camera, the numerous glitches and the ever present culling.
The gauntlet is a great idea but the fights need a lot more polish.
Most of the whining is coming from players who made thousands of gold playing the trading post and are now concerned that other players will finally catch up. They will mewl on about the health of the economy all day long but the truth is that they just want to feel special sitting on the pile of gold they’ve amassed.
Devaluing gold isn’t going to ruin the game. In fact, it might just end up saving it. The better rewards should be reserved for actual player achievements rather than ones ability to withstand tedious farming anyhow.
I think ArenaNet has really failed in their goal of making players happy to see other players. The community is more toxic than ever and the currency farm is to be blamed.
Are you talking about a game filled with skilled players, or a game filled with grinders, farmers and exploiters? Because the latter is pretty much what the game is becoming right now.
Ironically most of the skilled players are probably farming Deadeye for mad stacks right about now. I know I am.
