For those that dont remember or werent in beta, Arrow carts hurt a crap load last time than they did after their nerf.
Its just that arrow carts have been bumped up a tad too high. Especially since this game has no dedicated healers.

What surprised me last night than anything else Fannwong last night was that all of SoR was centralised on SoR bl, and content to fight 30 guys (who stayed on that map for the very reason that even if we were overwhelmed in terms of numbers, that if you stay on one map we can take the rest of SoR’s ground with the other oceanics who log in). This is not trolling, but I’ve always been curious why SoR runs a full map float in oceanic, because we stopped doing that a while ago for the reasons that is hurting your current ppt.
That is that once you zerg a map to oblivion, you leave all of the rest of your assests completely undefended and often without defensive seige, and if we hit garrison when you are on another map, you can’t do it in halves as it seems to be an all-or nothing tactic.
A SoR commander who used to be on SoS with us PM’ed me last night to ask if I was commanding when the who lake thing happened, and their response is that they weren’t in it for the ppt, which is at odds with a lot of the NA staying up late (I often see a lot of TW and Choo hanging around in the OCX/HIRE blob, and yes I understand they are not technically the full force, just nightowls).
A lot of respect for some of the guys in SoR (a little less for one certain commander who I butted heads with when I was on SoR previously), but I can’t see how you think the fights are fun if you are literally sitting in a massive blob all the time and not achieving a whole lot. Regardless, we’ll you guys on the field.

I cant answer for yesterday, was at work, but on Sunday it was JQ’s massive numbers keeping a large part of our forces on the map. Occasionally, MERC WM and co. would pop in to steal our stuff as well :/
Can a JQ commander please tell those JQ on SoR BL that they are violating the non aggression pact we signed Friday night before reset. We aren’t suppose to attack each other.
There appears to have been a mix-up. You were given the forms for the 72hr non-aggression pact due to the week long forms still being in development.

As I recall, from an SoR point of view, everybody was either on, or well past their bed time. Commanders logged, troops logged, and then BG’s force (which had only grown) rolled over those that were left and went about PvDooring their way around SoR BL.
But you know, tell yourself whatever you want after back to back defeats if it makes you feel better.
I’m sorry but an Oceanic guild going to bed at 9pm AEST time means that either everyone is in primary school or they are teenagers/adults and that gave up after a few wipes.

Ill be in bed by about 8pm tonight. I work hard. I don’t find that embarrassing at all. I like to feel good at 5 oclock in the morning and being beautiful I need my beauty sleep.
That’s perfectly fine and understandable.
However the overwhelming majority of students and workers are active between 8:30am-6:00pm , I find it very hard to believe that the majority of a guild log off at 9pm.
I wake up at 5am to go to work, and I am one of 3 commanders in HIRE that you get to play against, during the week, no way im staying up past 11 or near that time. I work with heavy lifting and I get tired.
If you feel like we log to early, feel free to fund a commander that is willing to stay up later for us.

If you are sick of projectile spam move to a higher tier server, as in T1NA the most common fights are between guilds who run heavy trains. There are a few guilds who do use ranged very effectively (i.e. TW ele-nec cluster kitten), but guilds such as MERC, KnT, FoO, Choo and WM run CC trains that are melee based
I can confirm this. In NA Tier 1 its common when running into enemy zerg your going to run into one of two things, either a bunch of warriors and guardians busting stright through to your backline or a bunch of Necros dropping marks on you.
My next toon is gonna be a PVT Warrior hammer just because i can.
SOR is having a “just relax and have fun week”…. however, we will still be playing the kingmakers role, so i suggest BG and JQ keep their forum warriors in check.

They broke staff ele for good. It’s a shame I spent so much money in this game and now they hit with a nerf right at the core of my playing style (mistform-heal). Actually Mist-form and heal are part of the core mechanic of playing an elementist. By nerfing that Anet is telling everyone that they don’t know what they are doing.
Mist form is only 1 out 19 utility skills. It’s not a core mechanic. It’s only useful in certain situations.
It would depend also if mistform interrupts any prior casting of the heal spell. If not, you could hit heal right before hitting mistform and negate the changes. We shall see.
Can you post the patch notes today? I miss playing other MMOs where the patch notes were posted the day before.
Should come within the next 24 hours. I feel like I have jelly knees about the ele nerf.

Would like to congratulate you guys on an excellent push since reset. I think both SOR and JQ WvWers have underestimated the tenacity and determination of your guilds. It’s highly commendable.
The dedication of almost round the clock objective holds plus the spearhead of your Oceanic along with the shifting of some of your key Asian WvW commanders into EU time GMT+8 12am is very smart strategy.
Even without the Kaineng transfers you’ll probably hit No.1 this week, and with them I think BG certainly will be the top server in time to come if you can maintain the coverage and tenacity.

Yep lol you got it confused, OP. To reiterate, the RTL nerf is supposed to make it so that you CAN’T run away as much. They only want you to start battles with it. If you don’t have a target the CD is twice as long (40 sec).

they toned down movement ability, not escape ability…
target -> RTL in -> fight -> run away after 20sec CD, same as now
no target -> RTL to move -> cant run away if cough after this, because CD is 40secsee the difference? they want ele to use it to fight and escape from fights, not to move across the map

We apparently need a class on how the glicko system works.
It is very unlikely that DB would make its way into T1 unless something drastic occurs within the T1 servers themselves.
At one point, 5 weeks ago some speculated that KN would replace a particular T1 tier server, but that to never happened.
It seems JQ, BG and SoR are destined as tri-party couples in never ending “chest-thumping” and kitten stroking.

Stop camping bridges
Not too long ago we know that NA t8 was a horrible mess with so many problems in terms of lopsided matches but guess what? The same virus has infected EU t1. We can call this a T-Virus if you wish (people from EU t1 and t2 know what I mean by that). Every EU server except Vizunah Square is trying to avoid t1. Servers from t2 are fighting ‘not’ to go to t1 while servers in t1 like desolation and SFR are fighting to go down a tier. Desolation including SFR has lost a lot of hard core wvw guilds in the past couple of weeks. And we are still losing people every passing day. A lot of people I know from Deso has already quit gw2 because t1 is staled and boring. Even if we try there is no way in the world we can drop down to t2 thanks to the glicko system. We are stuck here for good which makes me sad. If Anet doesn’t step in now, EU t1 will be a zombie town and I mean it.

Undeniably fun, I mean last night flipping SoR Hills over and over with my 10 man banditos (all militia and me), sieging it up and trying to fend of 40 JQ! :P
It is fun, but burns you out, we are glad to welcome the new transfers to BG going to make SEA timezone a lot more fun and engaging!

Anet’s goal was to punish the X/X/X/30/30 “BUNKER” DD Ele build but what they are doing in fact is destroying the zerker dd ele which is in no way OP. This RTL nerf will severely limit the viability of all non-bunker dd ele builds.
Anet, what is it that you want to do? Do you want to reduce the effectiveness of the cantrip dd ele? Or do you want everyone to stop playing the Elementalist all together?
If anything they are encouraging bunker builds.

We all know that success in WvW depends on sheer numbers. It’s not even debatable. The bigger zerg wins, the more heavily stacked server wins. That’s WvW. So what is everyone bragging about? I hope we at SoR, or on Blackgate, or on Jade Quarry, are not under the impression we’re more skilled than anyone else? Please…
You disagree? Please indicate to me a server with a low, medium or heavy population that has ever beaten 2 “Very Heavy” population servers, and then climb into a higher tier. Regale me with stories of how this plucky server with next to no coverage was able to claw its way to victory through sheer skill and strategy alone.

Numbers don’t always mean everything. We just beat off the big BG zerg on BG BL when they tried to take our tower with like 2x our numbers while out manned. They couldn’t move us for half an hour.
But everyone in Tier 1, friend and foe knows FOO > SF by 100 fold on JQ, both in terms of coverage, skills.
SEA/Oceanic isnt just carried by Foo. Its also carried by numerous other guilds including aos,tkg,dc,prx,etc…
Another 8 hrs of wvw. Was fun. kitten you Monday and work !!!

I really hope these arent just fluff additions like a trait line for Arrowcarts but some real changes that will affect the dynamic of WvW.

Is the score ever really different? JQ is in the lead, likely going to win again because they’ve got the coverage. SoR is about 4k points ahead of BG and BG is about 4k points behind SoR.
Not much is going to really change, besides the gaps getting bigger and occasionally BG will pull 48 hour shifts.

Ummn, in the last 8 weeeks BG finished 2nd, then finished 1st, finished 3rd a few times, then finished 2nd again. Does not seem the score remains as stagnant as you are trying to suggest.
Overall BG seems to be higher than sor.

There were a few things said in the state of the game specifically about WvW that I want to highlight here.
1) Elementalists, guardians, and thieves will no longer be able to destroy trebuchet projectiles
2) WvW/PvE split for Confusion condition and Retaliation Boon, confusion and retaliation will do less damage
3) Thieves stealth change is being reverted in WvW and PvE, but not sPvP (back to 3 seconds revealed debuff from 4).
There are some general balance changes to the classes, including the introduction of boon hate to warriors and the ability to steal boons using a thief sword skill but I wanted to point to the things that were said specifically relating to WvW.
What to expect and what changes are they bringing to wvw?

Confusion Nerf in WvW, totally saw that coming .
Reveal nerf back to 3 seconds PvE/WvW but 4 seconds in PvP. (Don’t understand why it’s 4 seconds in PvP but whatever).
Signet stat passives boosted from 90 to 180.
Active on SOME Signets getting changed.
All Pets from all classes will no longer attack stuff you have not attacked.
Spirit Watch – Orb 40% slow affects Ele RTL. Channel to get orb increased from 2 to 3 seconds. Spawn on orb increased to 10 seconds at the start of the match.
Next patch is mostly bug fixes because this patch is a massive balance patch.
New trait in Warrior Defense line, Reduces imob/chill/cripple duration and you gain Regen (regen has internal cooldown).
New trait combined for Warrior. Burst skill recharge reduced and amount of adrenaline consumed.
New Warrior Trait. (Master i think) 3% damage per boom on the enemy.
Warrior Signet of might active changed. Next 3 attacks will be unblockable.
Thief Mug Trait can no longer crit, but now it also heals 2K (scales with heal power).
Flanking Strike tracking has been improved, 2nd hit no steal boons.
Ranger pets will now try to move behind the target if they don’t have aggro.
Ranger pet stats have been improved across the board (This is going to come back and bite rangers down the road).
Ranger pet F2 activation times improved.
Spirit pets health increased.
Ele mist form locks you out of utilities (No more #6 healing in Mist form HUGE change)
RTL Changed to be 40 seconds, but if it hits something it will be 20 seconds (Blocks/invul ect count as a hit).
Signet of Restoration passive nerfed slightly.
30 Point trait that removes a condi upon gaining regen will have a 5 second CD (Trait is dead).
Conjure Duration increased (Still useless).
Engineer healing turret initial heal reduced, overcharge healing increased and CD reduced and removes condis.
Incendiary Powder changed from a 2 sec burn every 3 secs 33% chance to 4 seconds every 10 with a 100% chance.
Can no longer use Skills during Elixer S (Same as mist form).
Battle and Energy Sigils getting looked at, among other underpowered ones.
Mesmer Mantras getting reduced by .5 Seconds.
Distortion (F4) will no longer contest a point.
Moa Elite can be used on the run. Moa #5 run skill reduced in distance.
Illusion of Life cast time is being increased.
Guardian mostly bug fixes.
Spirit Weapons health boost.
Necromancer Minions getting health boost.
Epidemic and Corrupt boon no longer blockable.
Death Shroud getting a 5th skill, a new kind of Condi but its still in the works.

In that picture, an elem is using dragon’s tooth to hit the half built siege at the inside of the wall. Anet has nerfed almost all target skills to require line of sight. I think dragon’s tooth is the last one that has not been changed.

Pardon me for my ignorance but where exactly do havoc squads fall into the current meta?
I have no troubles taking fully upgraded supply camps alone. Yaks are easy to pick off even with 5-10 escorts and I can browse the net while auto attacking down a sentry. It seems stupid to vring extra people with me when I can do everything alone, theyd be better off in the zerg ball.
There are
Havoc Squads – Designed to do loops around the map taking all camps,yaks and enemies they find in between. Aim is to prevent supply going to enemies keeps.
Gank/Spank Squads: Normally smaller than the Havoc Squad, do the same things but are more focused on PWNing enemy players.
Yak guards: Players determined to defend a Yak. Boring but meh, some prefer that.
Camp ghosts : Players that appear from no where, and hit you the moment you attempt to take a camp
Duelist: Players that run around just looking for 1v1
Hybrid is the best.
Be a good warrior and do what other warriors do when they see an ele, RUN!
Focus has a ranged stun, a ranged daze and a ranged chill. How much more cc do you want in just 8 skills?
Not to sound flippant, but how about a massive-AoE knockdown, a massive-AoE cripple, AoE knockback, and a chilling aura?
The problem with the focus is that it’s almost exclusively CC and defenses, but the dagger can at least match it on CC while not falling very far behind on defense and adding mobility (which is a very strong form of defense) and damage (Firegrab and Churning Earth are our two hardest-hitting abilities, as far as I can tell, and they’re both on the offhand dagger).
Firegrab hits for an easy 3 to 6k and e5 hits for around 6 to 10k and if you have Lightning flash, e5 can do major damage to zerg groups.
