Mesmer will always be the strongest profession in WvW, and glamour was hardly nerfed into the ground. It was brought back to a balanced level, if not still a little OP.

Before this patch 10vs80 was not hard to do for hills or garrison. Not in the least. You didn’t even have to be on voicecomms for it. Of course this is going to make 5vs 100 doable.

Use SR to stealth a group of 5 in to wreak havoc on the Arrow Carts remaining, giving your zerg enough time to get in there.

Yes because a group of 5 is gonna take out 6+ AC’s that are being defended by 50 defenders. You also forget that any wall/door that goes down is now a choke point and anyone with half a brain will build AC’s to cover that breach immediately lol. Do you play this game??
I gotta tell you that there is no way a 5 man group is going to get through any breach in a tower/keep that i am defending. I will have every tower/keep siege capped with AC’s, so will the enemy, they already did before the buff. I’m sorry you guys don’t know how to defend your Towers/keeps and it was so easy to take them before and appearantly even easier now for the lower tiers? I guess you guys never have T3 upgrades?

Yup I’ve seen some of them, they are pretty good as well. Also wouldn’t mind facing your 5 man ingame sometime.
AD is not “a” 5-man team that runs dedicated professions every night. AD is a larger guild where whoever is online may jump in and play. That’s why you will see us field anything between 2-10 players, the occasional uplevels and completely random team compositions. We will also frequently team up with NoQQ and BSty simply because we enjoy running with them
Thus you will never see “our 5 man ingame”. We simply do not have one.
Glamour mesmers are extremely tanky while at the same time dealing extreme amounts of damage. That’s not how thieves function.
Confusion is one of the few viable mesmer builds that works against elite sword + d/x or SB thieves in duels. Though good counter against certain type builds, I never found confusion spec op in duels. I lost to condition thieves, condition rangers, certain type guards and to glassy phant mesmers. I also lost to good enough d/d eles once they learnt to watch their dodges after a few failures.
Oh yea, tanky phant spec might also work against those thieves but who wants to play that crap: it gives you ties 90% of time.
What’s the purpose of WvW? Solo killing players or large scale battles?
Hmm, I think I’d prefer another solution. How about if you could only capture supply camps if you had, say… 30 people in the circle? That way you wouldn’t lose them all the time in your BL when your zerg is on another map, and when you see a camp flip in your BL you can instantly react and move a big zerg there to shut any attempts at taking keeps down.
I don’t see how you will be forced to respecc after a simple nerf to confusion.

You are joking right? All my damage pretty much comes from Confusion. The only other way I can damage is my Warden ( which rarely does any damage since all you have to do is move two clicks in any other direction. UNLESS i combod it to shoot more confusion out) or my Warlock. BOTH which usually die within a matter of seconds.
Bear with DR we have spent the last few weeks having to play zerg ball it may take a little bit for the non highly organized guilds to find their way again.
I’m not sure I agree with this sentiment. Bandwagon guilds took DR from T8 to T5, and they all left shortly after that.
I don’t think anyone on DR expected to stomp or even win this match up. That being said it should be a lot more even than match ups we have had previously.

Are you saying that a toughness/condition thief with a shortbow doesnt deal AoE damage while being very tanky and stealthy? The theif still has this option, its just that not many choose it.
Different builds, different things. A BS theif is an extreme example, just like a confusion Mesmer is. And the BS theif does 10x single target dps than the AoE based Mesmer.
Hardly as much AoE damage as a confusion mesmer.
I am saying that confusion mesmers are way stronger than BS thieves, and that they should not be used in an attempt to justify the current state of confusion.
I’d expect to see more bunker guardians and d/d eles in the upper tiers, maybe some more power necros too. It’ll be harder to find mesmers for porting etc, I’d expect most mesmers who don’t change class to be a roaming shatter build with a couple stealths (the stronger build in small scale fights)
I seriously doubt that. D/D eles are getting nerfed again.
Honestly it’s not so much the fact that they stomp servers for 1-2 weeks on their way up.
It’s when they transfer off these failed “projects” and leave the server originals to fight in a tier they don’t belong in month after month after month.

very refreshing to hear someone say that. . I would say this though, i think t7 is a different animal now. henge and shiv peaks are viable opponents…when we were in t7 with gates and henge it wasnt nearly as competitive as it is now. So who knows.
All i know is im dying to face off with sorrows furnace …i wanted a rematch with henge also since some of our folks went over there .but it sounds like they have been kicked around a bit. maybe a lil low on the self esteem.
but that happens to all of us at one point or another.
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like you’ll get a chance to face off with SF, since that’s who you’re switching places with.
On a related note, it looks like GoM is swapping with HoD as well, so you’ll be up against us and NSP this week. I assure you a lot has changed in t7/t8 over the past few months. We’re much more organized than we once were, and we’re starting to get a more consistent WvW player base.
Granted, we may still lose, but I believe it will be at least a relatively even (and therefore fun, imo) match.

There IS something worse than losing every week (2nd place is 1st loser, right?)… it’s winning every week. What the idiots who decided to give up and not defend so that we can drop a tier seem to forget is that we’ve been in T7 and T8 before, it wasn’t fun. Weeks upon weeks of nothing but PvDoor because we outnumbered the enemy enough that they quit wvw’ing. Every morning, we would log in to see the entire map owned by DR, so we would log out just to see if maybe we could log in later and catch a group out trying to retake stuff.
Unless T7 got a major influx of players, this is the tier we belong in. Suck it up and go fight instead of hiding, or do us all a favor and go to another tier (and take your entire alliance with you, imo). If we do drop, we’ll be back next week, we just have too many people for T7.
Yes because nothing happened to DR in terms of population since the last time we were in T7.
I don’t see AD / NoQQ / BSty moving anytime soon. Like Oozo said, we are very much interested in staying on the same server together, and the amount of organization a move would take between our three guilds is quite large.
AD isn’t a small 5-man guild who run together with the same 5 members every night either. Who is playing and when is very much dynamic rather than static. Some of us also have guilds outside of AD, using them as platforms for other types of content than what we normally do within the guild, and as such we have other obligations on Devona’s Rest.
I’m not at all the leader of AD but this is just how I see it.

I think many people are failing to understand what the term “WORLD” means. Wouldn’t you look at world and see that it is involving that world as a whole and not as individuals or small teams? Individuals and small teams would fall into arenas and or guild vs guild like in guild wars 1. World implies huge amount of people. And if your world has less resources, it would usually fail in real life and should be in game as well. If you go in there thinking you should be able to solo another world, then that part of the game doesn’t exists. Trust me. I’ve tried it. I thought I can and should have been able to solo a zerg. For some reasons, Anet forgot to buff me enough to withstand damage like Seigerazer… Yeah, maybe that can fix it. Provide such buffs to help me counter zergs and I can video that and youtube it…

If you are talking about the people complaining about them, I’d say it’s more a case of wanting to have an impact on the battlefield even if you run in a smaller group.

you do know we’re kicking your butt’s during YOUR prime time right now, right? Don’t underestimate our aussies either..they’re what closed the 12k gap and actually gave us a lead of 5.5k. DR is just a bitter server, there is always an excuse as to why you lose be it zergs/double team/or exploits (not valid reasons since DR has double teamed and zergstomped IoJ plenty of times; although atleast from what I’ve seen you guys have the integrity to not use exploits) still however DR and DH have a far larger WvW population then IoJ does and the reason we’re beating DR right now is proof of our superior tactics.
and for a side note: DH is actually a good server, they know how to use their numbers and disperse them into remote groups to hit multiple fronts all at once. As far as tactics go they are just plain better then the ones in DR

Complete rework:
- change confusion so it doesn’t stack in intensity; increase base damage and maybe duration instead, but make it so that one stack wears off on skill use; that way you can cleanse, dodge or whatever without taking an instant 10k+ damage
- increase condition availability/reliability for mesmers so condition builds remain viable
That approach would actually also be very helpful in PvE.
This would actually be a good solution.
Perhaps double or triple its damage, then have someone take the full damage of one stack of confusion on ability use, which would then remove that one stack.
So for example, if you had 8 stacks of confusion on someone, that person would take ~1,500 damage per skill use for his / her next 8 abilities, making it ~12,000 damage total. It would still be powerful, but it would not have the same instagib power to it that got 100 ’nades nerfed.
So now you resort to calling me a nab and insinuating that I am a moron? SS might behave like confusion, but the amount of ways you can remove SS is 100x higher than the amount of ways you can remove confusion (this is not a made up number).
Unless you can convince me otherwise with some awesome arguments in your next post I am done trying to reason with you.
