Tanought and Mitz — thanks for the reports. Passing them along right now. (Can you give me your locations, and whether this is a new issue for you?)
We have a report that this issue has been corrected. Could you please post if you’re continuing to have issues? Thank you.
Hey, thanks for letting us know. And yes, I forwarded the concerns earlier today.
We believe that this issue has been resolved, and apologize for the inconvenience.
If you continue to have problems connecting, please update here.
Thanks.
Throughout the day today, players who were impacted by a game bug and lost Mordrem Blooms in the early part of the event were sent replacement blooms via the in-game mail system. A member of the development team mentioned today that the distribution covered the period that the bug was active—it was corrected early Friday evening—but would not include losses related to disconnects that may have taken place at other times over the weekend. The reason is that we’re able to retrieve game-related data for the losses incurred due to the bug, but disconnects can have a dozen different reasons behind them and they are not something that we cover through distributions of this sort.
You will find your replacement blooms in your in-game mail. A Mordrem Bloom Researcher NPC is located in the Durmond Priory and you may exchange your blooms there. If you have any questions, please contact Customer Support through a ticket and they will assist you.
Thanks for hanging in there as we got those blooms sent out!
Since we have a solution to your question, I’ll close the thread.
Welcome to Guild Wars 2! Are you playing the game for free? You’re welcome to read our forums. To post messages and interact with other players, we recommend using a new forum launched for Guild Wars 2 free players at Guild Wars 2 Guru, hosted by Curse.
There are a number of additional resources for players including our community-supported Wiki and a number of fansites that we work with closely, as listed on the Guild Wars 2 Wiki fansite page.
But how about this question: Will Mordrem Blooms be used in the future, or should we use them all before the vendors disappear?
As explained here — https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Mordrem-Invasion-Update-11-September-12-30-PM/5487900 -- I do not know the answer to that yet, but have asked.
….If you earned blooms during that period but did not receive them or received fewer than the intended amount, they will be sent to you via in-game mail. NPCs will remain in place — particularly in the Priory.
I am curious if those affected by this (like myself) need to submit a ticket for it, or to simply wait?
Valid question, thanks for asking: I’ve seen the spreadsheets for distributions passing by in an e-mail. At this time I would say that you do not need to submit a ticket to receive rewards that you earned but did not receive during the period when the bug was active. Participation and missing rewards were recorded in game data, and distributions will be made based on that data.
I’m going to stick this post, but I need a little help from the community: If you posted a build that, through game updates, becomes less effective or completely obsolete, could you please update your own post in the thread to update about that? In that way, the sticky thread is relevant, and people don’t see a build on page 2 that, on page 5, is replaced or recognized as no longer worthwhile.
Thanks!
Just a note that this sort of post is perfect for the Players Helping Players sub-forum. Please feel free to ask other questions there any time. As you can see, our community is great about assisting one another.
I see a couple of valid questions:
I will ask about those tomorrow — it’s the weekend here in Bellevue — and will answer as soon as I know more. I’m sorry that I cannot give that information today, but I truly do not know the answers to those two questions.
A note, please: The moderators continue to report comments to me with questions about their value. I think I covered this, but as a reminder: Someone commenting “I don’t like this” or “I did it and I quit” or “I had lag and it’s your fault” isn’t helpful. Why? Not because that person is being “negative” or because we’re in denial about what they believe is a network issue, but because they are not offering any points of action, any suggestions, anything that helps us with the objective of this thread.
Commenting "Rewards would be improved if you [offered this] or “I’d like to see this event again if you [did that]” is the sort of info we’d very much like to see. Why? Because we want constructive ideas that help us make future events that are fun, meaningful, rewarding, and involving.
There are many, many helpful ideas in this thread, both large and small, new and old. Thank you to those who are contributing in a constructive way.

What’s the point of offering specific suggestions as a way to improve this event when there are no plans to change it or repeat it?
For upcoming events maybe – and I hope there will be more invasion events.
Yes, Jana, correct. We’re actively reading and participating in this thread to let players know we understand they have concerns about the event, to gather as much consensus about the concerns as possible, and to use that information to plan future events.
It’s interesting to read the feedback as whole. While some things leap out as a general piece of feedback that seems very broadly felt — and it’s really good for us to know this info — others seem very individual.
Lag or disconnects, for instance, have been tracked and reviewed by the network team, and no pattern has yet been found. Someone at one location may have perfect ping, and someone else in the house next door may have lag. The team is investigating each ticket but please note that forum posts don’t help, so please submit a ticket. The specific instances I’ve read about today in network team e-mails point to the customer’s ISP. (This is data from a traceroute, which is solid, impartial data.) Now, that’s not to say that every instance is a result of ISP issues, but again, the lag and the event do not seem connected and a ticket is the only way for us to figure it out, or help you figure it out.
Back to the broader topic: We’ll continue to read the constructive posts and to use your suggestions to the benefit of future event planning.
Hello,
I asked the head of the GW2 Design Team about whether we would be making changes and rerunning it, extending it, or repeating it as it currently is designed. At this time, we are not going to extend the event, nor do we have plans at this time to repeat it, either amended or in its current form.
The Mordrem Invasion event will run through its allotted time. It ends at 9:00 AM tomorrow, Monday. As explained in my earlier thread, no changes will be made to the event beyond the fixes that were made on Thursday and, of course, the distribution of earned rewards for those who were impacted by that bug. (The bug ran from 9:00 AM until about 4:00 PM Pacific time. If you earned blooms during that period but did not receive them or received fewer than the intended amount, they will be sent to you via in-game mail. NPCs will remain in place — particularly in the Priory.
I hope this info is helpful to you. And thanks to those of you who provided constructive suggestions about the event — your thoughts are very appreciated. What’s constructive: “Rewards might be [this]” or “I like the rewards in [that] and suggest you adopt that system for this sort of event.” What’s not constructive: “Rewards are bad” (with absolutely no suggestions for how they might be improved).
I think you guys get it, and I understand that some of you are pretty “hot under the collar” about the event. But please try to give us ideas we can work with — that’s to everyone’s benefit.

I mean, ones that they will respond to, like a conversation or something – specifically about profession mechanics.
The developers read the forums every day. And they start or participate in profession-specific threads on a regular basis. If that is your interest, go to the forum for the profession you’d like to discuss and post in a thread where you see the red “ArenaNet logo.”
But…
A few developers/designers mentioned to me on Friday that they will be posting profession-specific threads very soon, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. These will be an “after BWE #2” view. So you may want to hold your feedback for that thread, because it’s more relevant to share feedback after the Beta Weekend Events and after you see what the devs have in mind for the future based on beta player’s input and their own observations.
Hello,
I asked the head of the GW2 Design Team about whether we would be making changes and rerunning it, extending it, or repeating it as it currently is designed. At this time, we are not going to extend the event, nor do we have plans at this time to repeat it.
A couple of you wondered about our mention of an afternoon event on Friday. That event was not going to involve any changes to the event; it was simply a dev/player gameplay session. We will be scheduling what I call IGEs (In-Game Events) in the future, but it wasn’t possible to hold one on Friday. We regret any inconvenience that you may have experienced through the cancellation of that session.
The Mordrem Invasion event will run through its allotted time. It ends at 9:00 AM tomorrow, Monday. As explained in my earlier thread, no changes will be made to the event beyond the fixes that were made on Thursday. As promised we will distribute earned rewards for those who were impacted by that bug within the next several days. The bug ran from 9:00 AM until about 4:00 PM Pacific time. If you earned blooms during that period but did not receive them or received fewer than the intended amount, they will be sent to you via in-game mail. NPCs will remain in place — particularly in the Priory — so that you can exchange your blooms.
I rarely come here to post or reply but I just want the devs to know how important it is for us players to not be punished in any way by having a disconnect in the middle of a play session, more importantly if we are going to lose any progress we have made in a said event. If there was a way to “save” that progress for a few minutes so we have the time to log back in, it would be great, and yes I know we can do the next event in 30 minutes but for some 30 min are alot and dont have time for more.
We completely agree with you. The team will be working on a way to address this. I don’t know if progress would be saved, that’s a question for a designer or programmer. However, at the least, we don’t want someone to lose their rewards!
Past week has been full of lag/disconnects and I’ve lost the stacking buff TWICE now over the past 2 days that I have free time after work inevitably resulting in getting zero reward. Nothing. Absolute zilch.
This is wrong.
There should be a system/feature in place that saves your stack of buffs for at least 2 minutes or so in order to reconnect.
As much as I really want to work for a particular reward, it is simply impossible due to the constant lagging/disconnects.
This thread applicable: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Absolutely-Insane-Lag-Spikes/first#post5473541
Still happening.
Thank you for pointing out that thread. I have responded in that thread in detail and with process suggestions that I hope will be followed by players, to allow us to help them.
We need to see Customer Support tickets for these incidents. Last night and again today, I read through an extensive e-mail thread and the issues were being caused by a variety of things, nearly always outside our control.
Here are some assessments from our Technical Support Team:
Clearly, not everyone having issues is located in Malaysia or Argentina, but when you submit a ticket and provide the requested data, you can see that our team will investigate the issue and will be able to tell you some possible steps to resolve it. (In the cases above, I imagine the player will be given the suggestion to contact his/her ISP, because that’s where the problem lies, but I leave advice-giving to the Technical folks.)
Sadly, I’ve noticed that with tickets of this sort, the player writes, the team responds and asks for information, and the thread is not answered by the player. But we really want to help you! So taking a couple of minutes to send the requested file would be to your benefit, for sure.
Thank you for providing this information and for following up on the requests from the team that enable them to help you.
Hey guys,
I noticed that this build is from 2014. Due to game updates and changes, it may no longer be relevant to today’s Mesmer. Can you — the experts in this profession — let me know if this should remain stickied? Or should we await an update from Osicat and resticky, or turn into a whole new thread?
Thanks for your input on this.
Thanks to all of you who are posting solid, substantial feedback or even just a few thoughts on the subject. The thing I particularly like is that you’re sharing constructive ideas and suggestions that the team can use in the future to offer improved events.
Thanks, and please continue to share if you have other ideas!
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
If you could please post your constructive suggestions for events in this thread we’d really appreciate it. Thanks.
If you could please post your constructive suggestions for events in this thread we’d really appreciate it. Thanks.
We are aware of an issue where if you disconnect during the event you will not be able to rejoin. If you experience this, you will be able to participate in the events that follow the one from which you disconnected. For instance, if you were disconnected during the Kessex Hills incursion, you’ll be able to get into the next stage when it takes place in Diessa Plateau.
Sorry but…so what? Who cares? There’s no carry over from one map to the next. It’s like saying “well, if you’re doing world bosses and you get DC’d you can always go and do the next world boss.” Yes, of course you can, but how would that answer an issue of consistently not getting rewards for content completed?
Happy to explain: We got questions about this, because the events come in a wave of threes over a four-hour period. So someone who disconnected in the first of the three “waves” of the four-hour event asked if they needed to wait for the entire cycle to begin again or if they could go to the next point of incursion. The answer is, they can do 2 of 3 or 1 of 3, and are not required to do all 3 of 3 to get rewards. I hope that explains it a bit more clearly.

Could you clarify as im now confused – you said previously that nothing could now ben done to improve the event – but you say Dev’s are working on improvements? does this mean the event will come back soon?
I’m sorry if my answer wasn’t clear. The devs are looking into a way to prevent people from losing rewards when they disconnect in the middle of an event. It is not possible to make changes to this event, but the information gained through player reports will help us address problems in the game and prevent them in the future.

Thank you for asking! Posting in this thread would be great.

Anet increased the bloom in yesterday update and they saying they can’t fix it.
Is it you can’t or you won’t?
They actually fixed a bug that was making the bloom amounts not distribute as intended. They didn’t arbitrarily pick a number to increase to.
Thank you, Rose, that is accurate.
We have been tracking player response and recognize that this event has not gone as intended. We’re at a point where we can’t change anything more about this event for this weekend without risk to the greater portion of the game. We also are going to postpone our plans to organize an in-game event around the Mordrem Invasion this afternoon. Instead, we’re going to continue to monitor for your feedback and collect information that will help us improve on these types of events going forward.

We encourage all of you who’ve participated in the Mordrem Invasion to please share your constructive thoughts on how we can improve on these types of experiences in the future. Please share your ideas and suggestions in this thread.
Thank you.

Just a reminder and to be super clear: We’re offering a pair of tickets to 5 winners. We are not able to host travel, lodging, or any other costs.
If you’re local or can get to and stay in SFO on your own dime, please consider entering!
I do not use Reddit or Twitter. I will never use Reddit because I hate the website lay out. I will never use Twitter because I despise social media.
Please, for the love of god, barring bugs like you explained today, use your own websites for updates too. This has been a problem since this game launched, and it happens all to often that you guys communicate every where else BUT the very website you should be communicating from first.
I think I’ve already addressed this, but to repeat: This is the official Guild Wars 2 Forum, and we communicate often and with the highest priority here.
Looking at a personal history of 9,000+ posts and 3,200+ PMs, it seems clear we don’t engage that heavily elsewhere.
And now, we return you to your regularly scheduled forum by closing this thread as the subject has been fully addressed.

Update on the Mordrem Invasion Event — 1:45 PM Pacific 9/10:
Some of you have asked about rewards for defeating the Mordrem during their attempts to invade Kessex Hills, Brisban Wildlands, and Diessa Plateau. Here’s some info from the dev team:
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
BTW, I just tried to play one of the events in the second map (Kessex)… Couldn’t find it… I’m old…
I think if you use the overmap, you’ll see symbols for where the Mordrem are attacking. Quite honestly I’ve been too busy on the forums to check the game, but that’s what I was told by the key designer. I’ll try to verify and report back, but encourage you to watch the upper right for invasion messages and try using the overmap to see if you can locate specific areas of attack.
I will be posting on the subject of rewards within a few minutes. I’m just getting what I provide you reviewed, so you have the best information possible.
Update to add: While an early note was shared elsewhere, due to technical issues, the first detailed information was presented here on the official forums in this thread.
We’re posting bug-related information about the Mordrem Invasion issues on this thread.
We’ll post event-related updates here as they become available.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
I’m 46. I do not do Reddit. I was so happy to see an unexpected event today, but before I started I saw the posts here about the reward issue. Hey, no big deal, we all make mistakes and I’m sure it will be fixed through a patch very soon. Can you just please post status and update info here more often, instead of Reddit?
BTW, I love the game, it’s the only one I play.
I post here first, always. Unless—-as happened today — our forums have a glitch that prevents it. We are unable to log in for some time, although many of us tried. You may have had the same issue this morning, as well.
This is our official forum and my team and I treat it as such. Apologies for any confusion that the post on Reddit caused, but I weighed waiting for the forums to right themselves against the benefits of giving players needed information, and decided upon the latter. I’m sure, on reflection, you’d agree that’s the way to go when circumstances demand it. Fortunately, the official forums are quite stable and we seldom have to make that choice.
New information:
The NPC will remain, so you will be able to exchange your blooms.
Mordrem Invasion Update:
- Those who earned rewards and did not receive them will be given their rewards. This could take several days, so please allow time this to happen.
I hope the NPC that exchanges the blooms will still be there after those “several days”
And that is an excellent question! Thanks for asking — I’ll see what I can find out.
Mordrem Invasion Update:
We know that some of you are experiencing issues with the Mordrem Invasion Event. A few notes:
Thanks for your patience as we work on the resolution of this issue.

While I understand the concern was about short-term events, and not quibbles about the exact number of days, I did want to take this opportunity to say that we posted an incorrect end date for the Mordrem Invasion Event. The actual event ends on Monday, September 14. So it will run a full four days.
Apologies for that error, which we are correcting. Again, I do understand the question isn’t about 3 or 4 days, but this update was news I thought you’d like to know because it does mean that it will run through the weekend.
