it’s not as easy for a hacker to add a phone number to the account. We require a legitimate cell phone or landline phone number, not something like Google Voice, and we verify the phone number. Hackers don’t have an unlimited supply of cell phones and landlines they can use.

Alternatively, you can use something like Google Authenticator instead.

FYI — I’ve had Google Voice numbers rejected a few times when I’ve tried to use them for various purposes. I don’t know how, but many systems recognize the nature of the number and reject it, because they desire a “real” number and not a referring number.

Don’t take it personally — it’s just the nature of how some systems work.

According to the e-mail threads I’ve been tracking, the log-in issues recently reported have been resolved. This came in about 2:00 PM Pacific time, and the report indicates that the problems were present on the EU servers.

I am having the same issue with GW1 as well as GW2. Cannot connect to server. Seems like its at ANets end.

I don’t think it would be appropriate at this time to draw that conclusion. If you think about it a general Internet issue would prevent login into both games. Let’s wait and see what the technical team is able to figure out before we draw any conclusions. Thanks.

We’ve received notification that the people who were disconnected from the game A couple of hours ago should be able to login at this time. I know how frustrating this can be. As someone suggested in another thread, this may very well be an Internet issue far larger than simply something related to our servers. It is being looked at by key team numbers, and our objective is naturally to get this fixed as quickly as possible. Everything within our power is being done as promptly as possible.

As I said in another post, this is actively being investigated and will be resolved as quickly as possible. If you have submitted a ticket please watch for a response. It took me maybe 5 minutes to find the GW2/Twitch booth? Because I KNEW before hand they had partnerd up for it. I Could have looked up their spot on the website, but i was being lazy.
I knew the line would be long, since everybody would want to play
So i came prepared with a book and my DS. (Seas of Sorrows, if you’re wondering)
While in line, i played Streetpass and read.
After enjoying the demo (not the beta i think, cus it had some audio bugs i didn’t encounter in the beta.)
I got my T-shirt and lanyard.
I would deliver some stroopwaffels and spend what time i had left in a nice spot streetpassing away.

Thats basically what i did all 3 days i was at gamescom. And it was awesome!

It was fantastic meeting you. And thank you and the many others who so generously shared the stroopwaffels. I didn’t open a single package but co-workers and I brought them back to the studio where they were much appreciated!

As gamescon is bout to end just wanted pop in and advice the team to get some Reissdorf Kölsch. It is a german local beer from the cologne area and tastes really good. Didn’t had time to go to gamescon this year, but maybe next year. Hope you had a great time, looking at the posts here it sure seems it was!

The thing about Kölsch is that not only is it really tasty, it’s also very hydrating. After a day with 35/95 degree temperatures in the Messe, I admit that Kölsch was my salvation.

Went to Gamescom 3 days and played GW2 all 3 days. We had to wait quite some time but it was worth it.

The demo was a lot of fun, on the third day we fully completed it! We met some new ingame friends while waiting in line.

Last year I managed to obtain my Charrlie, this year my friend got one aswel! So mine is not lonely anymore. (Next year a quaggan plushie? ^wink wink^)

The only thing I’m (just a tiny bit) bummed about is that they had no ‘female’ t-shirts. However I love the design and the colors and I can imagine that having both male and female t-shirts would require a lot of work.

Gaile it was lovely to meet you! Next year I’ll make sure to bring you some liquorice. I love our picture together and I hope to see you again next year at Gamescom!

The team is looking into this on several levels. The work-around will work for some, but we recognize that it’s not a full answer for everyone. And in the meantime the team is going to fully correct the situation so no work-around is necessary.

If you received the in-game mail in error, please don’t be offended. If you could see this as proof of our intentions to protect the value and rarity of your earned title, that would be a good way to look at this.

I’ve asked our QA Team leads about this, as I know you’d like to know more. Is it a bug? Is it a feature? Time will tell and we’ll post an update when we have more info.

Idle question, Gaile: Do people playing the demo get to log on with their own accounts if they want? Possibly bring in their own gaming mice to plug in?

I know that I would be screwed if I played a demo with default settings and a two button mouse because all my muscle memory involves my preferred keys and my HEX. Since the demo time is limited there’s not much room to alter all that to personal preferences.

Though I guess a hacker could shove malware in via a mouse driver download, somehow.

We’ll have setups at the booth and accounts specifically made for the gamescom experience. Those who visit the booth will get access to the BWE throughout the show, so obviously we can’t enable that on someone’s personal account. We wouldn’t be able to allow added hardware, sorry.

A couple of highly-active Guardian Forum members mentioned that some of our stickies seem to be out of date. So I thought I’d ask you folks: Are there any stickies that we should UNsticky at this time? Or do any of the OPs of the stickies intend to update them?

Builds change things over time, and it would be good to limit our stickies to guides that are current right now, and not incomplete, out-dated, or inaccurate.

Please let us know — judging the content objectively — if you note a particular thread that should not longer be stickied. We’ll take a look at the collected input and make a decision in a couple of weeks.

I`ll be there on thrusday, the first public day and last year it was kinda barren, with only some PvP Players I presume around.
It felt a bit out of place and just shoved in, in the whole twitch booth.

I really loved the experience just before release, where it was clearly designated and people were actually named.
Can we expect something like that this year around?

I don’t think this year will be the same as it was last year. I think you should stop by on Thursday and meet us. And watch the website, we have a blog post coming with info on the show.

The team is working on this, but I like being able to share the exact code you’re getting.

We just did a live build. We fixed a bug that prevented progress from being displayed properly on certain characters. This correction will address issues related to a character’s training, collection items, living world progress, hero point totals, PvP reward track, mail carriers and a few other related issues as well.

There are still issues with the game, and the HoM, as a result of the build of 7/28. If you have come across bugs that have not been reported in our bug-tracking thread please add them. Otherwise, rest assured the issues will be resolved as soon as possible.

I think it’s best at this time to close this thread, because the issues to which it refers were addressed and any remaining or new issues can be handled in the bug thread linked above.

Thanks for your patience as we got to the HoM adjustments, and we’ll tidy up any remaining issues ASAP.

We have several threads on today’s issue, and this one doesn’t say anything different and seems filled with a lot of negativity. We have a thread to collect legitimate bug reports. If you have bugs not already reported, leave the side comments aside and post in the bug thread. Closing this one.

I was able to access HoM and get my skins from there but some guildies says the vendor is still locked.

Traits and skills have unlocked in the hero panel for what seems to be all my toons. Some guildies say it’s only the first character they logged in with. I can change skills but not traits without relearning those.

All Living story parts are gone and shows I have to pay 200 gold to unlock. The achievements are blanked out as well as achievements from SW and Dry Top. The Points haven’t been removed from my account though so probably just display bug?

I did the LS 1 recap on one toon. It shows on the achievement summary. When I log onto Another toon and look under achievments / hero it displays as still to be done.

That’s what I have seen so far…

Dang it! Last I checked, Thursday and Sunday were available.

It seems according to DBZVelena (and from what I also heard) there may be some access if you’re willing to chance it, but that certainly wouldn’t be prudent if you needed to travel to the city, not knowing if you could get into the show. Is Saturn in a network, or might individual stores still have tickets?
