lol, when you are so much waiting for dutch stroopwafels, which are nothing else but 2 thin waffles pressed together with caramel syrup in between, then you should eat here in Germany a real hot waffle (belgium/brussel style) with warm cherries, whipped cream and powdered sugar. Alot more delicious than those cold tooth terrors, that are stroopwafels ^^

Items have a way of returning to the Gem Store on an occasional basis. The store doesn’t have a set rotation of items, although in some cases it would be sensible to predict the return of, say, Halloween-related items sometime in the fall.
In the case of Rox’s items, these are non-seasonal items so I’d simply keep my eyes on the store because it does seem likely that these two items will be featured again in the future.
I really encourage y’all to turn into Points of Interest on Friday on our Twitch channel. They’ll be showing the warhorn and skills and all that good stuff, and then you can better get a view of how it works as the Elementalist’s elite specialization.
Yeah… lets talk about display names. I had mine fixed via ticket before I quit the game shortly after launch. I’ve since come back and become addicted once more, but i’m not even bothering with my display name again because it reverted to my old key again (not my gw2 cdkey dont worry). My guildies have begun lovingly referring to me as “cdkey” or “serialguy”
It’s strange that it reverted, and I’m sorry for that inconvenience. The CS Team really would be happy to help you out, so if you ever get tired of being Mr./Ms. Random Letters and Numbers, do let them know.
I have to admit, there are times where the system doesn’t do what it should do, and it would be good to have the option.

People are forgetting something about this beta… this whole event wasn’t in their original plans. It is a “bonus” event for extra feedback on the Revenant, as we have seen, because the short CBT they had didn’t give them enough feedback.
Colin said this himself, they don’t consider this a fully fledged Beta Weekend Event. Part of the reason this test exists is because the gear in the CBT was the same used for the convention demo and they basically said that while they had reasons for having that gear set for the demo in hindsight they should have changed it for the CBT event.

Consider this an “early peek,” and by all means share any of all feedback you have! We have an actual Revent forum set up for your feedback, and it was created specifically at the request of several Development Team members, so you can be assured it will be given a very high priority for review. This weekend’s testing is not at all a “marketing event.” Marketing events are good, too, but this weekend consists of a real, honest-to-Dwayna test, with feedback invited from all who participate!

That’s a question that I cannot answer, I’m sorry to say. From what I recall, entry is determined by the folks at the door or the gates — not by the exhibitors. ArenaNet doesn’t have the means to invite people into the venue in advance of the posted hours, but you’re welcome to inquire of the gamescom organizers on what their requirements would be. If you don’t get in that day, stop on by when you get a chance!

You bring back such a wonderful memory, and probably one of the reasons I’m so fond of gamecom. Our first tournament was at gamescom in 2006. I will never forget how European Guild Wars players filled our space. And the space behind it. And the space behind the space behind our space. And how they cheered, and roared, and supported the tournament players. It was glorious!

We had a brief (about 45 minute) issue with the billing company, but that should be resolved now and all those who completed a transaction will have received their gems.

Do not contact Digital River. Do not attempt to use the in-game system, as that clearly states you will not receive a response and there is no option for payment or billing support.
I’ve never been banned, never hacked, never even reported.
But in all fairness and for full disclosure, since you have asked for information about this situation, records indicate that that you’ve had issues with purchases since 2013. Customer Support has done their best to assist you, and from what I have seen, they explained the situation in the level of detail that they can offer. However, this is not a new situation and the issues preventing the completion of purchases is not on our side, nor on Digital River’s.
I truly hope that you can purchase the expansion pack! You may be able to do that through an online partner or through a local retailer. You then could upgrade to the DDE, if you desired to do so, by purchasing gem cards and upgrading through the online store.
I’m confused, I’m angry, and I’m without options at this point.
The option you do have, which you have not yet pursued, according to Customer Support, is to submit a ticket to Customer Support and allow them to assist you. A senior agent informed me that they have received no tickets regarding the account associated with your display name, or at least no tickets in the last couple of years. Please submit a ticket so they can help you.

I’ve worked with Customer Support for years, and I have never seen such a response from Digital River and cannot understand why our partner would answer you, nor answer in such an inaccurate manner.

Note: You cannot purchase Guild Wars: Heart of Thorns through the Gem Store. The only option in the Gem Store would be the Digital Deluxe Upgrade, which is an upgrade to the expansion pack instead of the full expansion pack itself.
We have seen some reports from players (and have observed internally) that from time to time, a character will die without any apparent reason. Basically the player will be in a map, not taking damage, and then just fall dead. If you’ve experienced this strange death situation, we’d like to ask you to share details with us. Here’s the info we’d like to have:
Date, time, time zone
Account Display Name (that’s the same as your forum name, like Fred.1234)
Game world
Where you were on the map
What you were doing
Include a GIF file of your untimely death, if you can do so (One player was able to do this, and it was really helpful to those analyzing the situation)
Any spell effect or other identifying animation that you see when your character dies
Additional details or observations that you can share
We really appreciate you helping us troubleshoot this issue, and we’re working to resolve it as soon as possible!

If you are having difficulty submitting a .ZIP file (which seems to arise most often with PSD files) then please consider one of these two alternatives:
You may wish to submit your entry using Option 2, the “D.I.Y./Do it Yourself” option. This means you will need to provide a .ZIP with the required files. Please review Option 2 in the rules and guidelines for more information.
You may upload your entry onto a platform or host of your choosing, as long as it is free and does not require the purchase of any tools or software to function. If you do this, then send us a link that will allow us to download your entry. The link should be sent via e-mail to forums@arena.net using “Guild Emblem Contest” as the subject line.
If you choose the second listed option, please be sure to include the following details in the e-mail, in addition to the link:
Your in-game display name with the numbers (example: Name.1234), or, if you don’t own a Guild Wars 2 account, your first and last name.

These are the Guild Wars 2 official forums. We want discussions to be related to our game and have no interest in hosting an off-topic forum. I administered a busy OTF years ago and it was incredibly time-consuming and volatile for me and my team.
We encourage game-related discussions, and sure, those can head into areas that are more real-world than in-game. But a forum strictly dedicated to non-game topics simply isn’t in the cards.
Customer Support has expanded the reasons that they may reach out to a player via e-mail. Here are the current things that may prompt an official e-mail from ArenaNet:
A chat violation. This e-mail may contain a warning or, in rare cases, may inform someone of an account closure due to the large number of violations involving the account or the sensitive nature of the chat violation(s).
Botting: These e-mails will point out that the account was closed for botting.
RMT/Gold Sales: Accounts are closed for engaging in gold sales, for advertising, for delivering, or for supporting this disallowed activity in any way.
Please keep in mind that e-mails will come from Guild Wars 2 Support. Official in-game mails will always bear the ArenaNet logo, and will not bear the warning that the mail is coming from an unofficial source.
I’ll pass along the suggestion about rainbow dye. I don’t know if it would work, given the way dye is added to armor and items, but the art team would know about functionality and they can determine if it’s something that we would want to add to the game.
We seem to have slipped far away from game-related topics, yet again. I’d like all of us to just stop and think about the wonder and beauty of rainbows — because, really, who doesn’t marvel at a rainbow? There’s no need to see this as a divisive or contentious topic. Rainbows rock!
We’ve reached the point where this has become a circular discussion. It’s clear that many are posting repeatedly and redundantly. We feel that at this point everyone interested in the topic has had a pretty good opportunity to express his or her opinion.

The NPC will remain in the game. After all, as many have pointed out, you’re free to avoid interactions with that one NPC, one of more than one hundred different NPCs in that one of six cities, more than 25 explorable zones and regions, and throughout the innumerable maps and areas of the game world, both large and small.

Out of curiosity, what is the “focus” of this thread? Title is pretty much “thanks ANet for this character” and it seems opinions on Sya qualify as topical. Are opinions on the larger issue topical? Are debates that have reached a natural (natural?) no longer topical afterwards?

While some have asked us to lock the thread, we’d really prefer to leave it open. Certainly we understand that there are a lot of people here and opinions vary. Some feel one way, some another. A few have no opinion at all… which means they’ve probably turned away from a 14-page thread.
But this started as a game-related discussion, and while I hate to trample an interesting (for the most part ) conversation, I think some of the comments have wandered far astray from the topic of the in-game NPC, and it’s clear that a few back-and-forth debates have reached their natural conclusion.
Let’s see if we can keep this a bit more focused, please.
However… I believe we should be able to have a conversation about this without the moderator team being required to lock the thread. Don’t you agree? Especially when, as several forum members have pointed out, this is one NPC with a few lines of dialogue who it not part of the story or of an event. You may interact with her, or not, as you choose.
