This is bugging me so much that I have actually sent a private PM to two devs with a link to this thread and a brief explanation.
And I was sent a PM, too. About this and several other game changes. After the build was just a few hours old.
Please, forum members, don’t flood ArenaNet team members’ PM boxes with individual requests, feedback, or reports. Please post, with details, as you have done. Please use the in-game system to submit a report. And then please allow time for bug reports, suggestions, and feedback to be reviewed, discussed, and decided upon.
Noting “no response” in less than 24 hours simply is not giving our team sufficient time to read, review, analyze, perhaps consult with others, and then reach a conclusion about an individual report or request. If you recall the huge number of changes that were made yesterday, I feel sure that you’ll agree that allowing time for this request to be noted is entirely fair and appropriate. After all, no one wants to be “that guy or gal” who says “I want it, and I want it naaaaaoooow!”
Thanks for understanding that the team will need time to review your feedback. And that’s for your patience in giving them the latitude to make the best decision in each case.

The best part.
Well, in my opinion.
And that of a certain amphibian friend o’ mine.
Impossible to complete LA Exterminator achievo solo as an engineer since the karka rifle is lost when entering water (need to traverse waterways to access some of the karkas). It will auto swap to harpoon gun.
Thanks for the reports. The team is aware of this and will roll out a fix when they can do so. One workaround mentioned in this thread and confirmed as functional: Unequip all kits (do not have them in your skill bar) when you attempt to complete this achievement and you should be able to do so.

Keep posting your karka spots, and thanks!!
But…but.. who has no idea who Malificent is?
Thanks for posting. This is a known issue and the team is working on a fix. There’s not timeframe for the correction, but it is on the list.
If/when we have more info, we’ll try to get back to this thread and give an update.
Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to let players know the status.
This is not an exploit. You’re A-OK.
Quick note: The Lion’s Arch Exterminator achievement is not a short-term option. You can complete the achievement in the future, at your convenience.
I’ve just spent the last 2hrs finding these things – 35 of them at least – and wanted to say that this has been such an amazing amount of fun as I tagged up and had a bunch of guildies and pugs following me around for the entire duration. Met some new people, had a lot of fun with the guild, and enjoyed the content itself a hell of a lot.
Some of those hiding spots are just cruel though, ANet. You cruel, cruel people
Thank you, HwaRyun — we’re glad you’re having fun.
As to the cruel, well… I like to think of it as clever. Diabolically clever.
Thanks for sharing all these, guys. Very helpful to everyone. <3

Awesome, Phoenix!
There’s a new threat in Lion’s Arch. While it’s not as dangerous as Scarlet Briar and the Breachmaker, brave Lion’s Arch residents still intend to defend their beautifully rebuilt city against this latest invasion.
Head to Lion’s Arch and look for Turl Sharptooth. He’ll explain what’s going on and how you can help. After talking to Turl, head back to this thread and share your tips on how to rid Lion’s Arch of its latest, unfortunate infestation.
As you know, we’re rolling out a large build tomorrow, including the introduction of the newly-rebuilt Lion’s Arch. Check out this thread if you’d like to know about player-hosted events and what the Anet Team will be up to on this momentous occasion.
The standard edition will be available in a “boxed copy” version from some authorized retailers. Some of those retailers are engaged in the pre-purchase program. Others are offering a pre-order, which is not the same thing and will not gain the benefits of the actual pre-purchase.
Hope this helps!
“The standard edition " Also the Deluxe version right? That is what the Faq says, however the retailers I checked only had the standard edition.
You can upgrade to the Deluxe through the in-game store. The only boxes are Standard.
I just wanted to update this thread with a bit of new information:
We are really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, and even more, to you seeing the beautiful new Lion’s Arch!

Hooray! As someone who bought the core game after 23 Jan b/c of the old FAQ, this is really all I was looking for. I will now happily plunk down for the Ultimate Edition, b/c I love this game (just had a bit of an issue w/ the marketing team, or whoever writes the FAQ).
Question, Gaile (if you see this in the flood of responses):
As a post-January/pre-July buyer, is it safe to pre-purchase now & trust the refund to happen, or should I wait until the refund system is in place before buying HoT?
(NB: “I have no idea we haven’t built the system yet” is a perfectly acceptable answer for now.)
Whoa, fair question and I’m really not wanting to give you the wrong info. If you’re going to seek a refund, would you kindly click Support at the top of the page and talk with a CS agent about it? They are happy to help you with information or with the process!
I appreciate your candor. Thanks!
No problem. I am going to ask the head of our CS Team myself, so maybe I can give information. I believe I read “automatically” but I want to be sure you have all the accurate details you need.

If you bought deluxe before this, do you get an extra slot or how does that work?
It’ll be rolled into your account soon. And yes, as a purchaser of the Deluxe Edition, you get the one with the expansion pack itself and the one extra, as well.
Hope that info helps.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
Thank you! Pre-Purchased just now :-)
Thanks for your support!
yes thank you gaile for bringing that to our attention. this is what i felt was right
See nothing to panic over. They’re always listening even if it doesn’t seem like it
It’s true. We are. We do. We always will.
I wonder if this means I’ll get another slot, after buying the Ultimate package.
If not, RIOTEr, uh, I’ll behave.
Thanks so much, Gaile. Glad the team had such a solid response after all the vitriol.
Yes it does. It’s an extra for you.
As we mentioned in several posts on the forums and in various other media, we have been reading and gathering your feedback about the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns pre-purchase.
Please see this blog post for new information on the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns pre-purchase.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts!

I should be a bit more clear: Please don’t take a comment like “we’re reading your thoughts” lightly. That’s truly not a dismissive comment, but one that is intended to let you know that feedback from our forum members and players will be shared with the team as a whole.
In fact, I’ll edit my previous post to make that a bit more visible.
Yay! I think just knowing that we’ve been considered, whether it results in anything or not, helps put our minds at ease about the whole ordeal.
Also when you say that you’re “reading our thoughts” are you SURE you weren’t suggesting telepathy?
Oh gad! You’re right. That really should simply be “reading and sharing your input.” I hesitate to go back and edit that post, especially since it was quoted a time or two. But I hope you’ll forgive the poor wording by looking at the good intentions it symbolizes.

Hey all,
We understand that there are many opinions and suggestions about the game versions and the pre-purchase program. We will continue to read your thoughts and thank you for sharing them.
Edit to add: We will share your input with the team.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
I’m sure this is understood, but it seems like a good idea to formally say this: The update notes shared in this thread (and distributed to our fansites) were presented in unedited form. (You probably figured that out. ) As always, all game updates are subject to change while being finalized. The final notes that are presented here on the forums as the formal Update Notes will be edited before they go live. This will allow us to tidy up typos, make sure each stat is accurate, and also verify the inclusion of all elements (and the removal of any that are not going to be included).
yeah stop them by spawning 100 teq’s!
I am firmly behind the idea of a Tequatl Horde (!) invasion of the freshly rebuilt LA.
No Tequatl Horde. But there’s something goin’ on. Mum’s the word, but things may not be all they seem. Or may be more.
Info coming.
Eventually.
:D
Awright, you guys! Enough of this nonsense. ; Why didn’t one of you use the Froggie Light in the Sky™ and alert me to my typo, hmmmm?
I just edited. We will try to STOP BY the parties. After all, we love parties. We have no intention of stopping them. We encourage parties morning, noon, and night.
There will likely be Kegs, Feasts, Boxes o Fun, particle effects, drunk people, and compromising screen shots.
As long at they don’t include me, I’m ok with this.
Nice! Thanks for this info.
Hey all,
Thanks for these reports. The team is working on a correction for this issue. We don’t have a timeframe for this just now, but it is actively being reviewed and worked on.
Hey all,
We don’t normally cross-post but a lot more people read this sub-forum than may think to visit the In-Game Events forum, and we’re pretty excited about the idea of joining some of you for player-hosted events around the Lion’s Arch Reopening.
If you’re planning an event, please consider posting in this thread if you’d like to share the news! As I mention, ArenaNet team members will try to stop by several player, guild, group, and fansite hosted parties and celebrations that take place in celebration of the June 23rd reopening of Lion’s Arch.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
As mentioned in our May 19 blog post, we’re really really looking forward to the opening of the new, rebuilt Lion’s Arch. And we know a lot of you are, too!
In order to celebrate in suitable fashion, let’s gather any info about planned player parties in this thread. Are you thinking your guild will get together to explore the new Lion’s Arch? Is your fansite planning a gathering? If you have some solid plans, share them here:
We have several Communications Team members who will be out and about in Lion’s Arch next week. (Well, some of us are in Lion’s Arch on a daily basis, but you know what I mean. ) The city has changed, so you may want to come back and edit your post to update with an exact location after checking out the new environment. Or choose a “near this waypoint” location, because nearly all of them are the same.
If you let us know your plans, one of us will try to drop by and say “howdy” from the ArenaNet team!
As mentioned on today’s Ready Up, Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns will introduce the brand new Mastery system. In preparation for the release of the expansion pack, and beginning with the June 23 game update, Level 80 characters no longer will gain spirit shards (formerly skill points) through the leveling process. Instead, these characters will be able to acquire extra spirit shards through drops in the open world. For more information, please see our June 10th blog post about the changes coming to the Guild Wars 2 Wallet.
I’m very sorry to hear of this loss. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and guild members. To know that his wife is facing health challenges at this time makes his death especially poignant.
I don’t know all of the plans for guild halls. But I think your suggestion has a lot of merit and I will be passing it along today in the hopes that this is something that we can add in the future.
Again, sincere sympathy on this sad event. Our hearts are with you all.
Can´t believe I´m the only one with a soft spot for Queensdale! O_o
Partly because it´s at the foot of mighty DR and also because it was my first glimpse of this game in videos, back before launch.
The overall art design is great and the events also are good. I almost miss the days of the Queensdale champ-train.
Oh I totally agree with you! I love Queensdale for its look and feel and for its music, too.

An update on information releases:
The “deep dives” have been running along nicely over the last months. In recent weeks, we’ve had details on various Specializations, combat changes, a major update to the Wallet, World versus World improvements, and much, much more.
Next week, we’ll be sharing information on Guild Halls at E3. Read about that here.
Those of you who want to keep an eye on info releases definitely want to bookmark our news page — guildwars2.com — because there’s a whole lot of great information heading your way in the coming weeks!
Lion’s Arch. Well, the new Lion’s Arch.
Please post reports and concerns about the 28 July build in this thread.
Having this one main bug report thread will help the team track bugs and get attention on them as quickly as possible. Consider this the “One thread to rule them all” in this case.
Thanks for your reports!

Update: Just heard from Ray that this issue should be solved for nearly everyone. He said there will be a few who may have difficulty queuing for a completely different reason, but for most, this bug has been zapped. (The other situation seems to be under review, too.)
Thanks for your patience while the team got this sorted.
Thanks for sharing that info. Yes, game world and real-world locations are helpful.
Dont know what do you mean by “general location” but i can send you a vid instead ^^
https://youtu.be/Bz9_dba4x6k
Sorry, general geographical location, like California, Germany, Minnesota, London…
Thanks for asking.
Hey guys,
I just caught an e-mail thread and the team is aware of this issue and is actively working on it.
By way of information, could you please post with your general geographical location, such as Florida or France or Koblenz or Kalamazoo?
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
I am sure that many of us will enjoy fighting him. Alot.
Fighting? Or killing? Because I can’t tell you the number of times I’d have liked to throttle that cagey creature!
I think we might fall into two categories.
“Different strokes for different folks,” as the old saying goes. I fall into the second category and I admit it, sometimes it makes me a little sad to know how much some people miss by not savoring the moment, as least with one character.
This is something that the team is still working on, and it has not been back-burnered. We’re sorry for the time that it’s taken to correct this, but as mentioned previously, we want to ensure we do it right so we’re taking the time to research every aspect of the fix.
I just was discussing this with Roy and then saw this thread. You bet — that’s definitely coming!
I love the connection to the past, as well. I think it will be fascinating to play as a revenant and to play with revenants in my party. It’s just a fascinating concept, I think: to be able to channel much-revered (or much-feared) characters from days gone by.
