Tarnished Coast has joined the ranks! Congratulations everyone!
Is it me or does that look like a zerg fest after all?
Zerg ball yeah, it’s better that way instead of being spread out so turrets can buff on area and clear one posioned area instead of all over the place, thus diverting their focus to keeping #2 on CD. It’s also best so if you go down you can get right back up. Lots of benefits to being in a ball versus being spread out. Still, most people get hit by the tidal wave, and get killed/downed.

I honestly believe it will take time for each server to finally be able to successfully down him more often. I also agree though that smaller pop servers need some sort of buff or something to help them with the fight. Some more proper scaling to the fight, or something. Some nerfing needs to happen, but not on a huge scale. Nothing outlandish. I think ANet has done a good thing here, and I am not even an elite player. I’m a pretty casual player.

Has anyone gotten close since Blackgate’s success last night?
Tarnished Coast is on the fast track to beating him soon. (I’ve been guesting there as I have a friend on their server since my server is smaller and doesn’t quite have the fight down yet)
Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
Has he been killed on any other servers yet?
Or again on bg?
I believe no one has done it again. TC got as low as 10-15% before we ran out of time. :<
Blackgate has done it, but I don’t think they have since, probably because the majority went to bed/do something else after spending a great deal of time working on it. Tarnished Coast(15ish%) I think has been the 2nd closest to completing it, but I could be wrong there.
EDIT: Terribly sorry, I didn’t see “again,” Haha. /tired

When I was a new player, my first world Boss wkittenterer (<— Lawl, it’s blocked. The Dragon in Blazeridge). Man I was excited. Big Dragon that looks incredibly awesome. This fight is gonna be extremely tough and fun.
I was sorely disappointed. Jormag was my next world boss, and it was better, but it still lacked a real big challenge. I was a new player, and I felt the bosses were not bosses. Just bigger group events. I feel this way even today (a year later). There needs to be tweaks to these bosses. Maybe not quite on this scale, as it alienates a large base of people (I personally love this new Teq), but enough to still offer a challenge but still beatable with effort.
It’s hard to balance everything. They may have been over ambitious with Teq, but it’s possible to kill. I don’t think my server will accomplish it anytime soon, but I think we’ll eventually get it. We’re not Blackgate, but we still have fun, even if we fail. That’s all that matters in my opinion.
EDIT: I do want to point I would love resources put towards new bosses as well, but updating old ones is okay too, in my opinion.

I’m pretty certain it is permanent. What isn’t, is the boss week stuff (Such as the Wings). (I’d wait for more people to confirm this, as I am just assuming. I know the fight is a permanent thing in the game now, so I assume the title is as well.)

I wager it ends tomorrow as most Living Story content lasts between 1 and 2 weeks. It could last maybe another week, but I’d play like it’s supposed to end tomorrow just in case. If it was posted somewhere, then you’ll have to wait for some one with the knowledge to reply, I’m just speculating.

I loved World 2, but I do agree it was a bit over enthusiastic. There were times my internet got really bad (Storming) and it was extremely aggravating. (Basically the game registered me doing one thing, when I wasn’t and I would insta-die for what seemed like no reason)
Going from World 1 to World 2, it’s definitely a difficulty spike and I didn’t really enjoy that. The whole time playing (especially through Zone 3) I kept thinking “I feel really bad for people who were casual players but loved World 1, World 2 must be way frustrating :/”
As for Tribulation Mode nearlight, there were only two spots that really sent me over the edge. World 1 Zone 2, those jumping rocks. I died on each one at least 60 times, because my internet was being a huge butt. (The first one at least 100 times before I quit, I did it this morning one try and never looked back, until I got to the next one when my internet was being a butt again, dang storms).
I love challenges, and Trib Mode was great fun, I just wish some of the mechanics in Trib Mode weren’t broken if you had bad internet, because if you do, there are some spots that are way harder than they need to be. World 2 was a great deal of fun, my only huge complaint was Zone 3 and it’s really asinine ledges, and all together to far apart check-points. Assassins knocking you off and having to run back from a far away check-point got old pretty quick. I’m looking forward to the reworked World 2 in the next SAB update, where I will try Trib mode for World 2, and run through W2 again on normal mode.

Yay! Replies!
I’ll correct two things.
When I say checkerboard, I don’t mean like, textures are missing. I mean just the lines (from the pictures) go across the environment and form a sort of checkerboard effect.
And it actually doesn’t worsen over time, that’s just what I thought happened. But when I logged in one day, only after ten minutes, I noticed the lines, which lead me to believe that it has nothing to do with how long I’ve been playing, but they’re just there.
I am not using a laptop. I have an HPE500f tower, though I’ve upgraded a few parts (Graphics, and Powersupply). I don’t think I’ve updated my card before, or I could have updated it fully, and I should roll back to a more stable version, as suggested.
If I did have a laptop, I can promise you I wouldn’t leave it on a blanket, and I am not playing in bed. TV is just convenient for my tiny area to have my Xbox/PS3/DirecTV/and PC hooked up to it.

Okay, so this is a reoccurring blemish in my game world. I’m certain it has to do with something on my end, but I’m just not sure what that something is. In the past, I just assumed it was from straining, or long play time, which usually lead me to finishing what I was doing and taking a break.
It appeared (to me) the game was fine and I could play, and then it would show up again and I’d get ready to stop playing. Now, the kicker is it would show up at random times into my play sessions. I hadn’t thought much of it until tonight.
I logged on, have only been on for about 10 minutes tops, and I walk into a cave and there are these lines again. Then it occurred to me. I only have seen these lines inside structures. Not in the big open game world. So it’s quite curious to me as to why it’s doing this. It does it on both low and high settings. (Max, Auto-Detect, and Best Performance). It does not do this in other games that I have noticed personally.
Part of me feels it’s my graphics card (dxdiag at the bottom of this post), part of me thinks it could be my TV (I do not use an actual monitor), part of me has no idea what’s up. But here is two screen shots (Auto-Detect; Best Performance) and my dxdiag information. I’ll try to provide any addition information I can. Also, at Auto-Detect, I run a smooth 40-70fps given the situation (I average like 10 in megazergs, which is horrendous.) So, let’s have some insight; any one got any ideas?
Best Performance-

EDIT/UPDATE:
I forgot to mention that these lines, are multiple through out the caves or indoor structures, nor do they appear in all indoor areas (noticeably at least.) and they are like checkerboard. They also don’t always appear that green color either, sometimes they’re black and it looks as if the pallet is shifted slightly off key.

Currently my main is my Sylvari Guardian, of the Priory. But I am really loving my Necro. So it’s a toss up of Sylvari Guardian Priory or Sylvari Necro Whispers.
Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
I have both a Warrior and a Guardian.
Guardian was my first class choice and currently my only level 80 (I play her a lot, I neglect my other characters). Guardians have great survivability traits that keep them in the fight longer. But they suffer from a smaller health pool compared to warriors. I use a Hammer on my Guardian. I also noticed someone say they suck in WvWvW. I have to disagree. While maybe not as great as some others, I can easily hold my own as a Guardian in WvWvW taking up to 2 or 3 people at a time. Most people’s gripe with Guardians is trying to keep up with a zerg, or a group of people in general, to that I bring a staff to keep up and it’s no problem. (I also alternate between ‘Retreat’ and ‘Save Yourselves’).
So far, on my warrior, I deal a nice amount of damage, and can kill several things in no time. My primary is a greatsword, and man is it great. As I said, my guardian is my only 80 so I really don’t have much to say about the warrior other than I kill things faster than my guardian.
Honestly, if you have two slots I’d suggest doing them both. They’re both excellent classes.

Chances are if they bring back zones like Elona, Cantha, Crystal Desert, they will be in future Expansions/Chapters, and become a permanent part of the game world.(Well Crystal Desert might be more of an update kind of thing instead of a whole Chapter/Expansion) I am wondering how they will handle it though. Will it be like Guild Wars 1? Where they release a chapter that can be played apart from the original game (Ala Don’t need Guild Wars to play Guild Wars: Factions).
I honestly liked that set up a lot, and with the the way zones work (Scale your level down to match the zone) It would work great in this game. Granted, it didn’t ruin GW1, as being max level didn’t mean much, but that idea could still work in this game easily. Not to mention, when the new chapters came out, you didn’t need to be max level, or even complete the other Chapter(s) to travel there. So it was lower level friendly.
But all in all, to answer your question, those are huge area’s. Continents. About as big as Tyria if not a lil’ smaller, or a lil’ bigger. If they come in the game (They probably will) They’re going to be like Tyria, with zones, and new quests, new Main Story arch, etc. I just hope it’s like a “Chapter” like they did in Guild Wars 1, instead of a full blown expansion.
They said early on that if they do expansions or anything, they will require the base game. They will be for max level players and expand the level cap and would not be playable until after GW2 vanilla has been completed.
It will not be a standalone game, but an actual expansion (like Eye of the North).
Aw, that’s a shame. I really liked the chapters of Guild Wars, but that’s fine.
Either way, Area’s like the ones suggested in the OP would probably be introduced in Expansions, and become permanent content (With the exception of Crystal Desert, I see that more as an Update/Permanent Content thing, but I could be biased towards the size of it from Guild Wars 1).
I honestly hope to see some newer area’s. But I’d love to revisit all the places from Guild Wars 1, too, as unlikely as that is.

I like the Nearly completed section, I’ve already done a few of them as I was closer than I thought with some, but I don’t really like the over all usefulness of the new interface. Obviously I’ll get used to it with time, but I feel the old one was easier to read and less bulky.
That said, this achievement tab looks a lot better than the old one.
Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
The engine definitely isn’t designed for platforming… Don’t know if I would call it crap though.
Try playing it with high ping then.
I live in a rural area, with really terrible internet. My ping is constantly high. Jumping Puzzles are probably my favorite content in Guild Wars 2. I’ve done every single one with the exception of Halloween. I didn’t own the game then, and from what I’ve heard about it, It seemed hard, and I’m sad I probably won’t get to do it. (If they bring it back next year, I’m sure it will be different in some ways or glitchy area’s would be fixed, and thus, I wouldn’t get to try the original version).
Jumping Puzzles are not for everyone, just like Dungeons aren’t for everyone, or PvP isn’t for everyone, etc. I do think this update being so focused on Jumping is kind of unfair for people who do not like jumping puzzles, but I do enjoy that they are releasing more Jumping Content for the game.
I don’t know. Not every update is going to please everyone. But even if an update doesn’t please me, I still participate in it and enjoy it. I mean, it’s new content every 2-3 weeks. That definitely keeps me coming back to GW2.

I purchased the Quaggan Mini Pack yesterday and I did not receive it. I figured it could be my internet or something of that nature, and I check back in today and I still have yet to receive the purchase. Is this happening to anyone else? I’ve sent in a support ticket (or in the process of doing so), but I was just curious.
Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
I honestly thought the Aether JP was quite easy. Even the Goggles wasn’t to bad, though I’ll admit it was a stupid dive point. And honestly, I’m all for harder Jumping Puzzles. There isn’t a lot of super kittenes in the game, a few, but not a lot and I really enjoy them, especially when they’re giving me a challenge.
Though I do think they need to rework the camera angles for characters. At least let us zoom in all the way in the First Person mode. You could do that in Guild Wars 1, I never understood why you couldn’t do it in this game, and it would make some jumping puzzles a lot easier in spots, especially for those bigger races like Norn and Charr.

While we were trying to make a push, I saw that Men Gap was being attacked while under DH control. I ran out there once and hid in the water right next to the IoJ spawn area (Right under that water fall). I decided to take a peak only to see DH swarm over IoJ, which also resulted in my death. Sadly, I was lagging really bad and I didn’t even see me die, just kind of fell over and all the Yakks on the map sped up and zoomed across the map (Was quite hilarious to watch). So, after that I decided that I’d pop over into DRBL but I saw the swords appear, once again at the DH Men Gap. I decided “Why not, I’ll give it one more try” I ran over there. Followed behind an IoJ as he went up the stairs. I waited on the stairs and saw IoJ rush across the bridge, knowing it was time I ran up the stairs and made it into the gate as it closed, thus getting my 100% Map completion.
Was fun, dancing inside the tower as IoJ beat me down but I was happy to finally have that done so I can focus more on WvW instead of having that 1 last point I needed for the last few weeks. I did the same thing with Anz two or so days before the reset last week as well.
Now that my OCD has been satisfied I can enjoy WvWvW a lot more now, as I originally came to WvWvW only to get my map completion, I found that WvW is extremely fun, win or lose, outmanned, or what have you. See you on the battle fields.

I don’t know how rare they are, or where they can drop, but I got a Super Shield Skin (The one I wanted the most after the Great Sword) after I beat Zone 3. As I said, not sure if I just got lucky, or you get a chance to get one from there every time, but judging for how scarce they are on the TP, I’m going to say it’s a chance drop.

Just about every DR on the forums is so pompous and annoying. Maybe that’s intentional to make us mad or a defense mechanism for losing every week. Either way, enjoy last place, DR.
As long as I’m having fun, I don’t care if I’m last.
And regarding my first post, I wasn’t trying to come off as “pompous” and “annoying” I was just trying to state that I had a lot of fun, losing or winning, that night while storming the Castle.
Don’t assume all of DR (And I can promise you, I bet barely half even post on these forums), are all the way you say we are. In fact, during the castle double zerg last night, we didn’t eve think we were going to get the castle. We just went to be apart of it, and I’m glad we did. It was a lot of fun, and honestly that’s all I look for in PvP. It’s less stale than PvE. And while I do feel like we lose a lot (and we do), doesn’t mean I’m not having fun in the events I take part in, and that’s all that matters to me.
I don’t know if your comment was directed at all of DR, or a particular post on this topic, or what, but I just felt I should defend my position, since you included “just about every DR forum poster” in your ‘observation.’
I can have fun and lose, just as much as have fun, and lose. That’s my opinion though.
Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
I am completely surprised we even grabbed the castle. We were outmatched big time, but we got it and I was able to finally get my map completion. I’m not a fan of zergs, but that was hands down, one of the best moments in WvWvW for me.

So, on Devona’s Rest, this has been bugged for a long while. Just stuck at “Preparing a forwardbase”
Well, since the update we have not been able to tell if it can finally get past that part, as there is an army of 30ish Noble’s and an Vet Risen Abomination standing directly infront of the gate, and when ever we got close to that point they wipe out everything in matter of just seconds.
I dunno if this is a bug or what… but we had 10-15 people try and kill them and we all died nearly instantly because of all the sigil’s not to mention the escort failed before we even hit the ground.
Some one noted that it seems everytime the event fails, they don’t despawn, but instead just gather at the gate, further increasing the amount that is there for the next escort to happen.
Is this happening on other server’s or what’s the dealio?

I’m not exactly sure where to ask this (with out contacting support directly).
So, I primarily use Opera Web browser. As it can have problems with other websites, I have Chrome as a back up. I tried to go to the hom.guildwars2.com website, to check out my progress, but on Opera, I’ll type my character name in, then it gets stuck on the the little arrows moving, as if it’s loading, but it’s not (been sitting there for about 10 minutes now). I’ve refreshed, tried again. Nothing.
I thought it was odd, as I’ve never had an issue before, but I opened up chrome, did the exact same thing, but instead it loaded the page all out of whack, and briefly for about 1 second I saw the word “Error” right above the character dialog box. So, I I tried again on IE8, and it did the same thing as Chrome. I decided to copy the address, and try to load it on Opera, but all it did was take me to the homepage. And to test the link worked, I copied the address and entered it in Chrome, as well and it just loaded the page all weird.
Does anyone have any idea why it’s doing this, and if so, provide a solution? Things I’ve tried are Refreshing, clearing Cache/Cookies. I restarted my computer, I even rebooted my internet. I mean, it’s not like a huge deal, but I’d really like to view the page.

So what you are doing is:
You click the image of the barbaric and it slides over to the center and the gladiator image disappears.
You click the stats of the gladiator and it slides over to the center and the barbaric stats disappear.
Ah, I never actually clicked on the items. Never really occured to me to try it, nor was their any indication telling me to do that (That I saw anyways). So this was indeed my own ignorance. Thank you for the help. It worked.
Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
I could be entirely possible I don’t understand how to do it?
But I am trying to trasmute the look of the Barbaric Coat, onto my Gladiator Coat, but it won’t let me do it. No matter how I put the item in the transmute, it won’t let me.
I am using a Fine Transmutation Stone, and they are both heavy armours.
I didn’t know if this was a bug, or something I didn’t understand. I also searched other threads and solutions, and each one simple said “Appearance on the Left, Stats on the right” Which, I am doing to no avail.
EDIT: Just realized the armour needed to be repaired so I repaired it and tried again, still not working.
