Guild Wars 2

Mmm. I love me that AoE Blind. Comes in super handy. For the most part, I use my Virtues when I’m in a tight spot (Overwhelmed) or fighting boss’s or champions. ’Cause you buff people around you with your virtues as well, not to mention, with my build, I also heal myself with each boon on other players.

If you gear yourself right, and trait up right, you can be pretty indomitable and invaluable in group scenarios. My favorite profession by far.

Guild Wars 1 handled Expansions brilliantly in my opinion. No reason Guild Wars 2 couldn’t do something similar.

I missed out on the LS1 from Tower of Madness forward because I just got so burnt out on trying to keep up with the content (Probably my fault). So if anything, I’d love to be able to go back and do those.

Ok, time for examples.
Lets say you are playing a guardian, the chances of getting a light/medium named exotic armor will decrease, but get a heavy named armor will increase.
In the same scenario, get a Dawn or a Zap for example, as a guardian, will increase , while getting a Lover or Tooth of Frosfang will decrease.

So they aren’t making precursors harder to get, they are just making it different.

There are people who exist that only have one toon, you know.

Then why would they want a precursor that they couldn’t use anyways? A Guardian has no use for Lover or Tooth of Frostfang so there is no reason to even attempt getting it if they only have a Guardian.

If they planned on rolling a toon that /could/ use it, or are helping someone else farm (for whatever reason)

My three in my particular order:

#1: Guild Alliances
I remember back in the day where I was stubborn, and I wanted to have my own guild, my own hall. Mine. People could join (Everyone could join), but no one did. Alliances were fantastic. It’s like my Guild joined a guild and I loved it. Well, I’m still that same person today. I have my own guild. Been working my bum off (by myself) and I’ve upgraded everything to III on my own and now I’m not so keen on representing another guild. I would join an alliance in a heart beat though. Maybe add some alliance objectives/upgrades too.

#2: New Classes/Races
This one is a given in my opinion. I hope this game see’s something like that. Or as one poster already listed, Hybrid classes akin to that of Guild Wars 1. It was unique and make the game a lot more fun to play and made your character feel more unique.

#3: Updated UI’s
One of the UI’s I hate the most is the BTP. I wish I could search by Heavy/Light/Medium. I wish it was more fluid, neat, and such. It’s just kind of clunky and it’s my least favorite menu to be in.
I’d add crafting UI to the list too, but that’s already being worked on. In what capacity I don’t know.
And just some general personal ways to customize one’s UI would be great. Guild Wars 1 had amazing UI customization.

I would love a different UI for the TP. I personally hate going through it. Hell, even just an option for that would show only stuff my character can wield/wear/use would be a huge improvement.

The only Legendary I will waste my time on is Kudzu, and maybe The Flameseeker Prophecies. They are the only two I think look decently cool, but I don’t think any of them are worth 1000g+ it costs to just get the precursor, so I’ll probably never have a Legendary. (I mean, it took me two years to get 200g… seriously. I’m bad at money in MMO’s).

Either way, I can see easily why someone would want to change the skins of their Legendary weapons. I probably wouldn’t do it though just ’cause.

This is a free to play game. Buy once, play forever. They need to generate revenue somewhere. I personally feel the transmutation charges are fine, and I only have 26 myself.

I really have no argument other than that to be honest though. I’d welcome being able to use my Gem-store armors for free like my HoM armors and Achievement armors or outfits, but at the same time, I’m perfectly fine with system.

AS much as I would love new races/skills/traits/classes, I’m pretty content with the Living Story stuff. My only huge beef with this game is earning gold, but that’s my own problem. (Seriously Geno. 2 years and you just only recently gotten the Golden Title? Come on man…)

Of course they are going to censor it, it would be bad marketing for their gem store escapades if players were made aware that they sold an item that that had infinite uses in one area that was made available for a small time frame only to find out that area isn’t coming back any time soon.

I LOVE this armor set guys, seriously, but I can’t help but feel like Arenanet could make it better by allowing the “outfits” section to be worn in pieces like you’re regular armor. Also a Hooded version would be cool too. I don’t have anything against being an elementalist and looking like I’m wearing heavy armor, but I just personally think a hood version would be awesome as well. Think Diablo Tyrael for example.

I can see so much of this armor looking good combined with the Radiant skins too, or maybe some us would like to take the helmet off and see our hair.

So PLEASE Arenanet make “outfits” more “pieced” and consider making a hood version to the ceremonial plate.

They used to be that way you know. Changed with the Wardrobe update.

EDIT: I should note that the difference back then was you couldn’t use your outfits in combat or underwater.

But really, I never felt more disconnected with an MMO than when WoW introduced flying mounts. I didn’t mind it in Outlands, but I loathed it once it hit outside of Outlands. Made world PvP less interesting as well. (Seriously, you could fly all the way to the City Leaders. Booooring. I killed the City leaders when there was no flying mounts. Grand experience that was)

I hope this game never sees mounts, and if there are mounts, they don’t increase your speed, they’re just a cosmetic (Kind of like the Broom, or even the drill if you count that).

You do realize that even WoW is leaning towards ditching flying mounts now, right? And they have more opposition against losing flying mounts than game this game has support for ground mounts.

Man I love my flying mounts( aesthetically) but boy do I love my ground mounts more. It took me months, if not at least a year trying to get Ravendire’s Mount on my alliance character. Not to mention I finally got the Brewmasters Kodo as well. My Spectral Tiger mount as well.

I only fly when I’m in a hurry or bored. Other wise, Ground mounts always.

They’ve mentioned on multiple occasions that Cantha won’t happen (And if it does, it won’t be even close to how people remember it).

That said, and to agree with Sinifair, they need to finish the area of Tyria first. There is the near entirety of the Maguuma Jungle they still need to get in there among other locations.

There is ofc a reason, as their original ideology of the gem store seems to have drastically changed… you used to even get free items !!

This is one of those things that didn’t make the transition into Guild Wars 2 from Guild Wars 1 that I never really understood. I thoroughly enjoyed having my cape.

I remember once upon a time in WoW, me and some other alliance pulled the Elite T-Rex from Un’goro Crater all the way to Crossroads (Level 60 was max at the time, so this was eons ago), and it wrecked havoc for a good hour or two before the horde finally killed it and drove us out of the crossroads. It was pretty awesome.

This is not a bad thing.

They were great memories, but this is Guild Wars 2. I think the instanced maps are fine. Besides, with the Megaserver, I doubt all the maps being converted into a big open world would be any more or less seamless. Megaserver would probably just make it even harder to do and cause more problems than there needs to be.

I got to be honest. Even though it isn’t exactly ‘honorable’ it doesn’t detract from my fun or rewards, so honestly, this kind of behavior doesn’t affect me.

I can easily see why it would upset people, but it’s never really bothered me.

It’s a gift for your specific character. While I don’t have a blaster myself or have any idea what it does, I’m perfectly fine with it being only available to characters 2 years old. I’m sure the novelty will wear off of it for me quick anyways.

I support this as well. I only play to have as many characters as classes, and right now they’re all above 20 so any and all future level 20 experience scrolls are pointless. Even if there are new classes in the future, I already have enough for 2-4 more characters to be boosted to 20 anyways.

I picked up the Quiver when it was available the last time and still use it today on my Ranger. It’s pretty awesome piece and completes the ranger quite nicely in my opinion.

But yeah, I would assume it would be there until the 10 days is up, but it’s really hard to say if they will start removing things after a few days to make room for new things (Make room?) as to not clutter up the store to much with all these temporary promotional/theme items.

Hopefully you get it though.

EDIT: Actually it’s up in the air when they will disappear. The Quiver and other weapons/Ceremonial Armor came out on their own, and not because of the anniversary. They could disappear today or a week from now, or later. If it’s like previous items, there will hopefully be a day indicator on the item when it has a week left.

While I’m not doubting a lot of people probably use them now, I personally haven’t seen more than 3 or 4 on the same map (and they were together, not scattered). So it really hasn’t been a bother to me.

If you bought more than 3 (so 4 or more) you get refunded 100g for every tag bought after the 3rd one bought.

FPV is almost a necessity for many jumping puzzles.

I wouldn’t say necessity, especially on Asura. But I got through every single jump puzzle on my Sylvari with no camera issues, and FPV wouldn’t have helped much on my Sylvari. (For me personally). But on my Charr and Norn characters, platforming is a pain, especially when there is a lot of stuff for your camera to get caught on.

I dont understand the issue here. GW2 is one of the best games for quick leveling. Run events for quick leveling/WvW zerg trains also help leveling faster the game mechanics should not be changed any quicker. GW2 is perfect in my opinion.

The game has a linear leveling curve.
It takes just as long to get from level 10 to 20 as it does to get from level 70 to 80.
While some agree this is good, I personally think it’s better to level up faster when you’re low level AND get the traits unlocked at low level so you can try out different classes.

Now you get to see if a class is ’’fun’’ after you’ve reached at -least- level 30. Elite skills become available at 20 and it takes a long time to get to level 20 already.

Quests don’t give you so much experience either and the main story line does, but has these level recommendations. For example when I am level 16, I cannot do the level 20 story line quest without dying every second. So the experience I get from finishing it may be more than normally, but it is not as frequent.

Elite skills are level 30.

Yeah the easiest way (As far as I’m aware) to get Tomes of Knowledge was Crown Pavilion, and the experience scroll is when a character turns 1 year old.

I usually just go for map completions, but I have a lot of left over EXP boosters and such from my first time completing the map that those help. There is also food that can increase you’re experience by 15% or something like that. (Can’t remember what food it is, I’ve used it once).

Events are a great way for experience as well. I also wait to do my personal stories until later as they give experience relative to your level. At least I think they do, don’t quote me on that.

The only reason I’d use first person view is for Jump Puzzles/Platforming. Especially on Charr/Norn. Their camera angels are so terrible that, for me, first person view is basically necessary.

Guild Wars 1 had an alliance system set up for their guilds. Was pretty awesome and there was always chatting going on constantly because of it. I’d get my guild to join an alliance if it were possible.

Pure signet Guardian, most signet have useless active on guardian, and also don’t benefit them, 10% damage reduction (not nearly as useful as it sound), 180 condition damage, remove 1 condition every 10 seconds.

At least warrior have useful signets, with goo active (most of them) and benefit the different warrior’s build

Yeah I don’t use signets on my Guardian (Except maybe the healing one but I don’t remember). My warrior runs all signent’s when I’m just running around open world, but if I’m doing something a little more demanding, I switch it up.

I would welcome something to that effect, seeing guild members and friends on your mini-map. I don’t see why not.

Guild Wars 1 did this pretty often, and still does today as far as I’m aware. I know there are boosters and such, but a that shouldn’t be a reason to not have those types of weekends. Maybe weekends that increase the amount of Dungeon Tokens you get, or something, yeah know?

the farming community is actually pretty nice, its like a pool of gasoline running a machine.
but then the matches(anti farmers rich elites) come along and light the gasoline and guess what kitten explodes.

the toxic players aren’t the farmers who just want to make money and not have to be some TP warrior who drive the prices up of goods for their own gain so they don’t have to farm to pay for the increased prices of goods.
the toxic players are the ones preventing people from making money and having a good time.
what do you think happens when you stop a farm? people go do other events? no they sit around and wait or go find something else to farm.
ending farms just kill the map and bring it back it its regular dead self.

Apparently you don’t play MMO’s that much. In WoW, one guy was undercutting me in the Auction House on ore to the point that even if his ore sold, he was still below vendor price. You’d be surprised how far someone will go in order to keep a good farming spot hidden or to sell mats and not let people in on how good it is.

You must not play GW2 that much. If you’re selling on the TP for less than vendor value, then you’re lying because it doesn’t work that way at all. Also, TP flippers don’t work that way at all. Also, this farm isn’t a ‘secret’, obviously, because there is this thread here on the forums about it with a Dev’s response. Would you like to debate anymore silly anecdotes?

On regards to the blix farming, I’m not really for or against it. If I’m participating, someone caps wants to cap it, I usually just say “If they want to cap it, let them, it’s only a game.” Sure they may be doing it to ruin the the event for all the people, or the genuinely don’t know what’s going on (People who have their chat off, and the such).

I’ve enjoyed the Blix event farming simply because I suck at making any sort of gold in this game. I can’t join dungeons because I get removed because I don’t know the paths, and everyone always tells me “Do dungeons, it’s the best” they just forget to add that I need to know every path completely because no one will bother explaining it to me.

Either way with it being patched I’ll dip back down into trying to get money again, but at least I made a decent bit of gold while this is active (Only 25g so far, but hey, that’s the fastest I’ve ever made gold).

100 is very very easy now, 300 will be very very easy in the near future. Money (gold) in game is not the hardest thing to get your hands on.

I wish 100g was easy. I still have the hardest of times earning any sort of income in this game.

On topic though, I don’t think Commander Tags should just be given out, but I don’t think they should cost gold either. But there isn’t really any effective system for obtaining them anyways. I’d love a commander tag, I feel I’d be a decent commander when all the big commanders are away, or even just a PvE commander. But 100g? I’ll never in the near or far future want to drop 100g on it. Been playing since 2012 December, and the most gold I’ve gotten is 168g. ~Shakes fist at my inability to succeed financially in MMO games.~
