What expansion?
Yet you still HAD to make a new thread about it
And the rampant posting of multiple like threads continues….
Works both ways. They don’t run normal speed when you hit them either. It’s combat speed. Keeps things even for combat. If you could just run at normal or buffed speed through mobs…that’s when it would get ridiculous.
So…they are slowed. Slowed to your speed. Which makes sense.
3. Blue…no RED! WHAAAAAaaaaaa…
Now that I look at it…Ele and Necro don’t feel the same so much…but maybe you get the idea I got from playing all of them.
:P
Guardian
Engineer
Elementalist
oh..comments
You could go
Warrior
Ranger
Necro
and add Mesmer as a variant
War/Guard are along the same lines
Ranger/Engineer/Thief/and maybe Mesmer the same
Ele/Necro same line
Not saying the same…but the feel of the classes…to me
(edited by Gestankfaust.4216)
I do agree with what everyone else has said. I know I don’t get bored mostly because of the people I play with. Heck….I stand around changing dyes and stuff with my mom. She takes her look a bit too far sometimes. She is a girl after all :P
Depends. I sell them if I need money or salvage them if not. I also sometimes save enough of them and dump them in the Forge. Though that seems more a waste than not anymore.
I honestly hate this answer as many use it as a cheap shot….but as I see it, this game has dried up for you. It’s not for you as much as you would have liked it to be. After reading everything you wrote, I would have no answer except that I hope another MMO comes out quick so you can play something you like more and don’t get bored with as fast.
This community is seriously the biggest collection of cry babies ever.
It took me all of about 45 minutes to finish my daily yesterday, and the only one I had to actively seek out was the Kryta Slayer one. If 45 min is too much time for you to invest in something, then don’t play an MMO.
You have literally ignored the entire point. The point is many players have completed all the overland content and want to enjoy other aspects of the game; but there is no point in playing the rest of the game and doing the things that we want to do Fractals, Dungeons, Spvp; because we have to magically control time and add 45 minutes to our day to do the daily. You obviously didn’t even read anything. Like where dozen or so times I have already said is what I want to do is spend 2 hours doing dungeons; but there is no point in spending 2 hours doing dungeons if I have to spend an additional 45 minutes doing dailys.
This gave me a giggle…
You say that the other person missed the whole point, then went on to prove the what he/she said.
People are crying over doing something that, since the change, I have only had to “set aside” time for 80% or so of the last of the five needed to complete dailies. Most of the time, I just have to craft something or see the laurel vendor. Maybe stop and box someone in my guild as an ooze. Five or ten minutes out of my way. Not at all tedious or boring.
You say you only “want to do Fractals, Dungeons, Spvp”? That’s a choice you make. The other 99.9% seem to do fine getting dailies, and now even monthlies, done without bother. If you people make it seem hard, its because of what you “want” to do, that’s your choice.
I bet if they started a program to give everyone’s characters an allowance, like when we were kids (say 50sp), some of you would complain “It’s not enough”, or “It should only be account wide, not character”, or even “Why am I being punished for not having 5-8 characters?”.
Holy skritt on a stick…

On leathers I use iron, earthen, cinnamon, dark chocolate, combos of dark reds, browns, and dark blues usually.
On my guardian, the main armor is midnight blue. Looks awesome with a red fringe on any tassels or other pieces.

MMO does NOT mean grouping, guilding, or raiding with others. It NEVER HAS.
Massive/Massively – A catch all word for the vastness of the world, content made, and amount of players playing.
Multiplayer – Just as it seems. Many people playing at once in one world/server. Nothing else. Has never meant anything else until some people started saying otherwise. Say it as many times as you want, it will STILL only mean…people get together in one place/server/world/bathroom/football field/donut shop…whatever.
Online – Just that…online
MMO is a prefix for the game type. Not a game play style. The style is determined after the prefix (FPS, RPG, RTS…so on) You notice, however, that none of these have a “G” for “Grouping” or “Guilding”. Interacting with others in a game is as good as grouping. If I run around in the game helping the zone out and chatting, I am not being anti-social. I don’t “need” to group….until I “need” to. Has nothing to do with the prefix “MMO”.
So, to the OP, you get what you “play” for. I have grouped and soloed almost every area in the game except dungeons and such where you need to group. I don’t see what’s so hard about it. Any event that pops, I join in or don’t. Heck, my mom who is 65 or so soloed most of her two 80’s and this is only her second MMO.
Tried hard…not seeing it. A clue?
Would you pay to breath? Would you pay to have to talk to strangers?
Other pointless questions at 11
I think you’re probably fighting in the area that has incorrect dynamic leveling, I posted about it in the bugs forum a while ago.
There are lava elementals and flame legion around there that are level 69, but the game delevels you down to 63, making killing any more than 1 at a time, very difficult.
I can see that as an issue…not one for me as I have cleared the area twice now…..but….
You also get a gold star next to your name :P
Did you seriously believe you’d get a legendary for simply completing maps?
I knew you wouldn’t. Also know this isn’t aimed at me. Just wanted to know what you did get
If you thought you’d get a legendary….then you only got that info from some morons on here. I have read some…really misleading stuff
Players have basically migrated to a few top/high population servers. If you are on one of these servers, you will lots of people, all the time. I’m an Australian playing on Tarnished Coast; on my weekends during the US daytime, maps are packed FULL of players. Even on my weekday evenings, a time when most US players are sleeping, there’s still bound to be about 10 – 20 players in any given map.
If you are one of the other Med-Low pop servers, you’ll probably have the exact opposite experience.
False…again
I have been on multiple servers an seen plenty of players.
Just don’t know or get what ppl mean when they ask about population.
He may have become a god among men too. I have had that feeling after downing multiple foes at once. Maybe he found his footing there.
I’m rooting for him
:P
Let’s just face the prime facts here, they are really more than enough people against this patch to warrant postponing the patch until a later date pending further investigation into how guild missions can be deployed in a better fashion. I personally haven’t logged in since Saturday ever since this was announced because for me, personally this is a total deal breaker – and from what I can gather talking to other people, a lot of other people will mostly quit too, some probably tomorrow, and others probably within the next week judging on how this plays out if they decide to push ahead.
The signs are already apparent that this is irrevocably destroying many small and casual guilds and the patch hasn’t even gone live yet. I think this really is the last chance for anet, do the right thing here – put pride aside.
What people are totally not getting the idea of what a small guild really is. This is purely because of the huge population imbalances on servers. Some servers are highly active, and others are dead – so many people here are only seeing one side of the issue, and lets face it – there are many issues this patch is bringing up.
Wait wha?!
You are speaking as if you know…and you do not. Facts are…we are waiting for it to happen. Not fearing it
One thing is the crossed swords icon above their heads. That means aggro on you.
Or anyone in your party. So the surest way to know that the aggro is on you, is when the mob actually chases you instead of others around.
lol…sorry your post made me laugh. So simple, yet….
:D
Why…this thread?
One thing is the crossed swords icon above their heads. That means aggro on you.
Might not be a joke…but my mom and I were playing and she noticed a player stuck inside a rock. She said “why does that rock have a name?”
I lol’d
Guess this thread is useless to us then. Seein as how the OP can’t be bothered to return and post?
I getcha…but when I played GW1, I never saw that. Was it something you had to search out? Cause the year or two I played, there was no wondering where you were going. It was just playing and having fun. Guess that’s still where I go wrong?
I went to 80 with my guardian the fastest and the most fun. On GW2DB.com…I went with the reaper build. Great damage dealer…but on dungeon bosses…down a lot. Prolly just me being a doofuss. I love the class more than any other. Ranger was my first 80 and loved it too, not as much though.
How so? I’m nearing completion so….would like to know a real opinion
No, you use that to help craft a legendary weapon. There are a lot more components than just the gift of exploration. You have a LONG ways left to go.
yeah…you ventured into another thread than you meant to?
As to the OP….
I like the Guardian more for PvE, but Warrior seems to be the favorite for most
I can see where you are coming from though – why should anyone play the game unless the entire plan for the future of the game is laid out in front of you, you need to know what the level cap will be in three years to enjoy playing (below that level) now and next week!
This part contradicts your last statement…is that intended?
If it is serious…I would have no idea why anyone who had this opinion would ever play an MMO period.
You didn’t play Guild Wars 1 did you?
I did…and it matters why?
I hate GW2
:P
It has nothing to do with being a warrior.
The man just isn’t playing correctly. I never once had an issue with Fireheart Rise on my warrior.
Here’s some motivation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6npO-NoOPOgnever said warriors cannot…
But the player being a warrior that doesn’t do it right…might make what I said a bit right…eh?
Wasnt a knock on your statement so much as it is to the OP believing mobs in FHR are OP especially against warriors.
I found it mildly comical, considering most mobs there can basically be dropped by 1 use of Hundred blades (Excluding Vets / Champs).
gotcha and agreed
Kind of a fun zone to me

I heard it on the internet so it must be true!!!
Duh, how else would we know everything? I’m just glad Oprah invented it when she did, where would we be now without it.
Gestankfaust.4216 is right- Al Gore invented the internet
Oprah invented bad-mouthing-the-people-from-the-country-that-made-her-filthy-rich-and-making-girls’ schools-in-other-countries-to-make-herself-look-good-instead-of-making-positive-changes-in-the-country-that-gave-her-tons-of-money-which-is-a-disgusting-cop-out-that-is-characteristic-of-stupid-celebrities.
You better be careful…she has a following
- Place 3 rich ori nodes and 5 regular ones in Southsun cove
- Turn it into a shared zone between all servers in each WvW tier
- Watch the fun
This could work…I mean, if it could work
:D
Nah, to be honest, I see way more people playing in the open world now than ever before, for whatever reasons. Last year, there were times many areas seemed dead except for the bots. Now, there are minimal bots and many, many people farming and doing events… it seems the population is actually increasing, from what I’ve observed.
shhhh….don’t ever say that out loud looks around you wanna rouse those people?
So I would say it’s because you are a warrior. Maybe…
Went through as a Ranger and Guardian and never had much of a problem. I know it has some hard hitting mobs, but I adapted.
Sarcasm in the middle para…
I don’t think anyone with that attitude is going to have any fun in life at all!
Well…you never really know if what you read is sarcastic or not here
is why I asked and not bashed….not that I bash normally
:D
I’m concerned that our guild has been hard gated out of building this new content ourselves. At our current rate of influence gain, without mass recruiting people which we will not do, we’re looking at 60+ days of influence gathering plus build time to get AoW to lv 5. Please reconsider introducing missions that smaller tier guilds can initiate, possibly starting around 1k influence to build. With that floor, even single person guilds can amass enough influence in a week or two of casual playing to at least initiate one mission.
Why dont you just buy influence with gold?
^ This.. is the answer. This is EXACTLY why Art of war 5 is required. Its called buisness sense. Most guilds DON’T have AoW 5. the Majority is PVE based and do some wvw on the side. The first thing we all think of is USE GOLD to buy influence. what happens when we dont have enough in game gold? well, we buy gems and exchange them for gold of coarse. Don’t expect them to change it from AOW 5. That doesnt make MONEY. I dont blaimb them for doing it this way as a buisness man.. But as a player, Im extremely irritated. Id rather pay monthly for the game than have them dump this crap on us 3-4 days before the new content drops.
….CONSPIRACY!!!!
I really want them to add tinfoil hats to the Trade Post.
Me too…this forum needs more tinfoil.
10 pages of posts about something we haven’t even seen yet
Class?
You can have all exotics and it wouldn’t matter if you are overpowered by mobs. I find the area tough but like the fact that it is.
I am avid pvpers, i do kill a lot of ppl in many open game MMORPG. After playing GW2 for a long time, i think i have an answer for this question
Do Open PvP can be applied on GW2
Hell no, you simply can’t, there’s no way Open PvP can be applied on Current pve map. The map already designed to be one sided, adding open pvp feature will screw the whole structure. Plus there is no “Alliance/Horde, Rep/Empire” faction in here so….na’ah.Is there any solution to apply open PvP on GW2
In matter of fact there is, i spend a looong time meditating on WvWvW and i found the system are quite solid, need a lot of teamwork, enemy name are hidden to prevent personal issues. I think they able to put these concept on the new map and make it pve oriented .Insert the same system as wvwvw, make it less competitive (no base rapping), make it pve oriented (like killing the giant dude, scavenging event, etc). There you go, a brand new open pve map.
agree…kinda….but not the same as what’s being asked. They really could make great maps/areas for more PvP. But they cannot take the world (PvE) as a whole and make an open world PvP server.
People should stop even asking
No! to dueling. I don’t need another reason to block players. If they made an arena…fine. Stay away from my home city
I can see where you are coming from though – why should anyone play the game unless the entire plan for the future of the game is laid out in front of you, you need to know what the level cap will be in three years to enjoy playing (below that level) now and next week!

Again, a single PVP server.. Really? Didn’t you read posts,
Again…didn’t you read where they’d have to make another game to accomplish this?
PVP alone is 40% population on WoW and I have seen population over that at certain times, so by those standards we would need alot more than one. Why cut out half the customer base? That’s like telling mcdonalds, you should only sell in USA forget about the UK.
See above
If you like lame cheeseburgers, fine. If you went out to get a burger and entered KFC, you then could not ask for one…could you? Same thing here. No open world PvP here…sorry.
The world would be like 3 times as big, leveling was a tad slower, and more level 80 areas so people would shut the kitten up about endgame.
Yes..I said kitten…no filters were used here

Al Gore invented the internet. Who is this Oprah you speak of?
Nice try on the save.
He gave a perfectly reasonable reply. Kinda funny that you’d rather insist he’s just covering his kitten than accept it.
Or as you and your ilk might say: “Why so bitter, bro? Troll more, bro.”
Any “I did it because” is an attempt at a “save” in this usage. I merely pointed out this reasoning given only make him look just as bad in my opinion. And that maybe next time he (they?) should think more on who’s going to see/read what they’re saying. Lastly, I don’t understand the last part. Since you don’t have a way to possibly know me, nor reference posts where I would type like that, I’ll just disregard it. Point still stands that they should have thought more of the reader than the interviewer in this case. If the interviewer is clueless on the game, better to educate them than stoop to their level. It helps more.
LoL!
Just wow.

I have been playing for months now…and I just noticed it was an MMO!!! I actually saw another person and I thought I ventured into the Twilight Zone!!
20 areas so far, not a single soul seen
You are on the wrong forums…the Vanguard forums are elsewhere
Seriously…stop outright lying. You have to try hard to find 20 areas without seeing anyone.
