This reminds me of the weight loss fad/industry. Some are overweight and don’t care. Some care and have found the gym. You either know it’s there and go, or know and don’t care. That’s far from some treadmill that’s ruining the game

You can be objective about the game, even if you are happy about it. I think GW2 has some flaws, but that doesn’t mean that i can’t enjoy it at the same time.

Not taking sides is healthy for the gaming community, and the developers. Be objective.

My main is a Mesmer and I have another one at 51
I also have an Engineer and those are my two favorite classes hands down.
I find my Ele much more difficult to play than my Mesmers btw.
Just pick whatever you find most fun to play, you will be happier in the long run.

That kind of defeats the purpose of AoE… plus even if that was possible, most AoE attacks take time to cast/travel so whenever your target would be moving, you would miss because you didn’t aim ahead in your target’s path…

Bottom line… impossible and even if it was possible would be a terrible idea most of the times (unless you’re face tanking everything on a guardian)

If your targets path is you…then how would you miss? If it isn’t, then you don’t have to worry about aiming so much.

But I think you may be thinking of some other AOE than the many an Engi might use….cause I don’t miss much

Gives good class builds. On my Engi, I am able to either just use my rifle to kite, use grenades, or just run around mobs dropping bombs. Great class IMO

I have two 80s and the one with no MF finds way more exotics and others than the one with around 75% MF

The one with MF finds better dyes…if that matters

I just don’t ever see a difference. If you don’t see or feel a difference…then it sorta trips the mind. Is it working? Or do I have such bad luck that I required at least 75% MF to play?

I dunno if this will help….but I double tap my AOE’s on my engi. I can still move the target a bit cause i hold the right mouse button down while running and just move the mouse around while strafing.

Makes sense to me…but maybe the explanation doesn’t :P

Yak’s Bend is great if you’re looking for a NA server. I’ve been on a few different servers and am very happy I chose to settle down here. Lots of friendly folks around. If anyone ever has a question in map chat, people are nice and offer advice. I rarely do a dynamic event alone no matter where I go, there are always players running around on every map. We have a great world events crowd, too. Some of my best times in game have been spent waiting for dragons to show up! As for WvW, I’m just a casual but every time I go in, I have a blast with my fellow Yakkers. I’d say YB is an all-around great server to be a part of!

Great to new people and (as far as I have seen) very active and helpful to new people.

I dunno…I never run out of things to do. I have fun selecting a character and going through zones I’ve been through and never gotten bored. Guess I’m not the typical gamer we see now days.

Mom leveled an Ele to 80 and loves it. But not easy for her. Between the Ele and Mesmer, I’d say Ele is a bit easier for most. I find them kinda equal.

I’d hate to draw you to any of the more easy classes though. I feel you’d be much more satisfied getting to the higher levels with classes you enjoy more. Mom did

So first off, for those who don’t know what it is.

“Inspecting gear” is a feature where you can check anyones gears in a UI. By right clicking or something else.

My view on this:

It would make it easier to check out someones gear if you’re curious. You wouldn’t have to link every piece.

But then again, It would also increase the level of “gear checking” for dungeons, etc. At that would pollute the community. “You must have x gear to enter this group”. Just like the “You have to be warrior to join this group”, only worse.

It would also make it easier to bash somone because of their gear.

These are the only things i can think about when it comes to this topic.

So, i ask you.

Should it be implented? Or not? Give us your opinion!

No but we should be able to preview gear on the trader before buying it. Its kitten that we can’t.

Dodge is easy….I don’t get why ppl don’t get it.

I can’t use the normal double tap to dodge cause my hands/fingers are kinda twitchy and it sometimes makes me jump off high places. Yeah…as in multiple times. Jumping puzzles…out.

But the daily is easy to me. Turn it on and get my dodges within a half hour, turn it off.

Nope, I can’t.

I can dodge, yes. I hit a key and my toon dodges. It’s easy. The thing is, the 0/20 count or whatever the Dodge requirement is for the daily, DOES NOT CHANGE. It doesn’t work. I can’t get the count to change by dodging. Then I go back and look at it an hour later and it says 3/20. I didn’t hit the dodge key, so I don’t know why it counted three dodges because I didn’t dodge.

Maybe it’s a bug, maybe I double-tapped and dodged without realizing it. But I have not been able to finish any daily that included Dodge but I have finished every daily that does not. So I’m looking forward to actually being able to complete the daily every day.

If they would look at the mechanics behind dodge, they’d see what we do. But if you change mobs, you’ll get it.

Go for mobs that have a wind up. Centaurs have this, so do bandit scouts. Basically, it’s any mob that has an intro to their attack. Or any mob that has an AOE. It’s really about the mob right now, not the dodge.

Always wondered this myself…but refuse to delve too deep into the shiat to find out. Seems kinda kitten to not offer weapons…leave it at that

I agree with this…but…

The visit the laurel merchant you know is temp cause it’s new. And I agree with it being in dailies for the purpose of eliminating the “where’s da larel merchent?” spam.

Some others seem to get old though.

What I see is that no one will ever be happy with dailies though. Which I could care less….happens all the time in MMOs. Just do it cause it has a reward. So much complaining about easy tasks mostly.

A channel would work…so I don’t have to see the spam

I think the Dredgehaunt one next to Sorrow’s was mentioned as well. This one actually caught me by surprise cause I got the vista and jumped off only to learn there was a jumping puzzle achievement just a hop and a skip from the vista (kinda where the love/hate comes into the equation :P)

Once I actually got there (which was a chore to find the start), I actually, instinctively, saw that I could go forward. So I think it should stay as is. For those who have that crazy sense of exploration that I do.

The point is, should it be a grind. People seem to pull their shoulders up on this issue a lot, while others are hotly contested against this fact.

I am and will remain certain that there are better ways to build your legendary weapon. Tasks, achievements and components specifically tailored towards each legendary weapon, all of which are story driven in such a way to give each legendary weapon it’s own identity. Rather that than merely throwing all of the rarest mats already used by other crafting items, and being content to have players rummage through those to pass the time.

Shouldn’t legendaries be more legendary than merely functioning of off the droppings of other lesser gear.

I’m not talking about vendors, I’m talking about the Trade Post (TP). And I’m not talking about just any gear, I’m talking specifically about the Legendary weapons, you know, the items that are supposed to be the end-all goal.

I’m also not making a slight towards how you find your gear, I couldn’t care less how you worked to gear up, that’s how you play the game. And it’s great if you earn your gear through blood sweat and tear, not crafting, which is a rather odd thing to point out. In fact, I’m not even sure we are talking about the same thing.

The point of the thread was to point out that I personally (as in my opinion) feel that the goal of legendary items are to obtain them through a journey, be it an epic quest, or crafting them piece by piece, or doing difficult tasks. They ought to be your personal beacon of prestige. I feel a legendary weapon should not simply be bought with a large sack of gold.

And Im talking about if I don’t want to ever craft, what should I do? If I sweat more than you, but don’t want to craft, cause I earned the gold…..?

Speed is fine also…at least twice that as the long bow…which is by far faster than a real shortbow (which is not made any more…for years) has ever been shot (depends on the user…you know that of course though)

Yeah…seems like a ripoff. But I do get that you can’t get a rare every time. I knew that from the get go. I just figured you would, at the very least, get uncommon from crafting a rare. Out of three rares now, all were just ordinary boring colors.

Should be that when you craft master dyes, you get anything below rare, but better chances at uncommon than crafting basic dyes. When crafting rares, they should be anything but commons. The chance to get a rare wasn’t really what my gripe was. I get that it might be 1 in 20/30/50 or something.

Why in the heck would a rare dye recipe come out common? Every try…I get a common dye as the result. You trying to make me quit trying?

I have done a few times now and resulted in nadda. Just a few common dyes. Not sure this makes sense on any level.
