They should make a rule set to minumum requirements though..
Like in normal situation and the lowest settings you should be getting 30 FPS or something like that.

About to switch to a 3570 my self.
Wasn’t really gonna go for it but now with the halloween events and getting like 20 fps all the time in Lion’s Arch on my phenom II @4 Ghz .. Getting really annoyed.

Pls tell me you I5 3570 users are getting descent FPS in LA with the events going etc,,

Hardcore players should look els where to feed there addiction.
I like the casual part of this game.. it’s the main reason why i play it.
Specially when it comes to PvP. I love the fact i can win vs nolifers with SKILL, instead of them one hitting me cause they spend there days grinding gear 8 hours a day.

And this has nothing to do with beeing lazy just got to much time to spend on work/real life.

Oh and equality is needed to make this game balanced/skill based the more the beter

Should be able to run everything on medium/low settings.

There are probally some old driver files lingering in your system.
You should uninstall your ATI display drivers.
Then start windows in save mode and run Driver sweeper.

+1 to you my friend your correct, this game suxs donkey crap… For me its a time toilet till something good comes out. Because games today are sooo fing bad, I am tempted to stop playing any mmo’s all together. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER in history guru3d and game spot have made post’s and video about games of today being tooo dumbed down. This is a rising issue for vets that have had years to hone their gaming skills. As a true reality it is becoming, video games arnt going to be the same any more. A good mmo needs grind, thats what they were about. Take away that element and you got games like this. 3 weeks 4 hours aday = done, I have nothing left to do. Games of today are focusing tooo much on new generations of players and forgetting about the vets. OR maybe people are just lazy as hell now and dont want to work for anything.

As an example to how fail this game is, myself and my friend have grinded to lvl 68 with out using any armor or accessories. WHAT game out there, lets u grind almost to end game with out using any armor?? its unreal… this game is a amusement park, not a mmo.

In 2006 Cabal online came out, the only game I have seen where u could run a dungeon 10000 + times and have maybe 0.5% chance to get a forcium drop or a cape. Games like that arnt made any more, its all about “hand holding now”

You should stop playing GW 2 now. This is SO is not the game for you.

Oh and farming a instance 10000+ times to get a 0.5% change to get something
isn’t something i consider fun….

Black Citadel is pretty heavy on the GPU as well.. try turning your shaders down and see what happends.

i am actually running a phenom II 965 @ 4.0 Ghz with a 6870 × 2
I am curious as to how some ppl in this thread consider WvWvW playable considering i am only getting 11 FPS in big fights.
I am using a G15 so i can see my CPU/MEM load all the time on the little LCD and in WvW my CPU caps at 85% showing the CPU is the bottleneck which is to be expected.

Just curious if there is someone that’s getting beter performance on a some what similair CPU.

I run an nVidia card in my subpar rig and the game is both playable and looks nice. I don’t get 60fps but I don’t need to since the human brain processes about 24fps into fluid motion.

Massive diff between 30 vs 60 FPS and that’s just watching it.. You can totally feel how less smooth a game is below 60 FPS.

Personally i consider 30 FPS playable but 60 FPS is the sweet spot

AC average fps is 28-35

The game engine is not efficient enough to enable 60 fps during big WvWvW battles. The highest fps your likely to get there is 30fps.. that thats with a heavty cpu.

60+ FPS is easyily possible in pve however.

The kind of rig you would need is.

I5 or I7 at 4.5ghz+
Single OC’d 680 or equivalent. Or 2x Sli 660ti ..or triple sli 500 series. (this is to get the higher than 60 fps in pve)
RAM ..anything above 6gb will be enough tbh.
A SSD will help remove or reduce any stutter from loading textures and such from the drive.

You ‘shouldnt’ need a rig this powerfull for a MMO ..but GW2’s engine just isnt capable of giving good performance in heavy situations atm ..so a heavy duty rig is required to compensate.

It’s pathetic though that you need to OC your i5/i7 high end cpu to get normal FPS in this game..

So what are the recommend requirements to run this game maxed out with 60+ FPS in ever situation..
Cause browsing these tech forums i am starting to feel the PC needed to run this game maxed out with 60+ FPS hasn’t been invented yet ! … -_-

I am running a Phenom II 965 @ 4ghz oc + a HD 6870

The lowest i have gone in PVE is 15 fps in a massive event normally i am capt at 60 fps (vsync) without it am between 50-100+
WvW lowest 11 FPS in massive fight.
However in Spvp i am at 60 FPS Haven’t tried without vsync.
The log is Spvp one 3 minutes in fraps

So with a 4ghz you can basicly play everything except WvW

This is everything maxed except shadows and reflection.

Erm, i wouldn’t get a Phenom II cpu for 150 and be proud of my purchasing decision. It would be one of the crappier dual or tri cores and be kittened inthe clock speed. I was referring to the x4 965 (which is out performed by the 920, and priced comparably).

The only reason why the 965 is that cheap now, is because of
1. oversaturated stocking.
2. AMD can’t push crapdozers while the superior Phenom II’s are still available.

that 920 is 300 because its out of production, and stock is extremely limited. (prices are actually rising)

You can usually pick a 950 up at a bundling discount for $200 + the costs of the mainboard.

You don’t pay 100 for a cpu and expect the performance of a 200+ cpu.

I already gave you a source proven to you the price off the amd chip was allot cheaper then then 920.. Specially 2 years ago.

It’s a fact that the price/performance ratio was best for amd 2 Years ago.

Now a days it’s Intel by far.

Then again maybe in your Neverland the prices of the i7 920 where equal to the phenom II 965.. But sadly i ran all out off fairydust.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing DE’s to their conclusion until I ran into the plethora of broken ones in the higher level zones, granted they will be fixed over time but it did put a damper on release, had we only be able to test higher level areas during beta then overall the sentiments on launch would have been better for me personally.

Back then the phenom II was the best price/performance cpu by far.
And so far i managed to run everything maxed out.. and it still is.. except GW 2..
But yeah i agree with you if people gonna upgrade any time soon Intel is the way to go.

I love these hidden events/caves..
Running in to the pirate cave in Lion’s arch was one of the best things i have experienced yet !
I am playing this game like i would play Skyrim though.. exploring reading quests enjoying the detailed environments.. playing super casual lol.. no rush in anything

HD 6870 × 2
8 Gig ram windows 7 64 bit.

In massive WvW fights i am getting about 11 FPS unplayble imo.
In massive PvE events i gotten as low as 15 fps.
Standard questing i am anywhere between 60-100+ fps
Towns: Lion’s Arch i am getting in the fountain/Center area about 28-35 FPS.

i srsly doubt ppl come read forums here before picking up the game..
I take real reviews over 90% of these wow adddicts any day!
and the real reviews just so happen to have insane scores for reason.

Obviously this game has some seriues issue’s that they have to fix.
Every mmo that came out however had pretty much the same rough start.
