I’m going for Frostfang now. I love it, I love the subtlety of having to kind of look for the features. It’s much better than some of the outrageous skins.
The issue is also in game design. They push us as a condition/ support class but don’t allow it to work in PvE. Necro won’t be useful until PvE mechanics are addressed
OP did you start farming for the ticket when the skin was released? It’s been 5 tickets for some time now. However I think it’s an important point to distinguish that it took a player more time than the sale exists to acquire the skins through in-game methods.
Of course it can be argued that the skins are designed to be purchased with real money, but I think it still stands that OP saw something he wanted and playing the game was not enough to accomplish the item during its prime availability.
This is a problem because ANet stands resolutely behind the fact that you can play their game at a normal pace to achieve anything you want.
Of course if OP began farming just before the sale needed then this is a totally different story but the fact that it happens outside of this particular case is still something to think about.
My theory is that they are afraid of shooting themselves in the foot with posting the Winter’s Day event.
Maybe reward or an event is failing to meet the deadline, and they are debating on releasing the details and information.
They have a horrible track record on that.
EDIT: That or they are working to pry Scarlet from the Winter’s Day storyline, because people are not responding well with her.
Wintersday content was finished 4 months ago
bleed caps alone is no where near the only thing needed to fix the problem
“It is not remotely hard to make money in this game.”
Must have been playing wrong for more than a year I guess.
Without
grinding dungeons / champ farming / Orr Event farmingplaying the game how do you make money?
fixed that for you
It is most likely a bug. The kit is definitely buffed though. I’m waiting for everyone to catch wind, buy it, then ask for a refund when they fix it.
As long as it stays advertised as a basic kit I don’t think they’ll be so fortunate with the support tickets.
it will get removed
be optimal and use PVT gear
-no one ever
Twice so far I have experienced client crashing after a fractal completes. It crashes as soon as the boss dies, presumable when the chest spawns.
They are all dropped in the fractals. And before an argument is made that it is unfair that you can only get them there, you should know that infusion is ONLY required for fractals.
Thanks everyone, for the feedback
The font for the item is purple legendary – but like I said there could be a number of reasons for this particular font. Don’t get me wrong, I hope it is a harbinger for new legendaries as much as the next, but I’d hate to see more hate threads on these forums based on speculation.
He also said that the new legendaries will unlikely be weapons, but an accessory. As for the Raven Staff from the data mine, I wouldn’t take much stock in that being a legend. Considering it is in development, they may just use the purple font for instructional purposes, considering how it stands out (the text was DO NOT USE).
However if it is a new legendary staff, that thing is great and I’m looking forward to a new shortbow.
Is the kit advertised on the BLTC as basic quality? This sounds like something that would have been noted, as it would certainly lead to massive sales.
Never hurts to stock some Transmutation Crystals
I am getting tons of sigils from my kit now, so confirmed for me as well. Will begin salvaging rares tonight and post results ;p
Should receive it at 31 if zerotwo is correct, as you receive daily rewards for any fractal within the tier now, not just the even instances.
I think I should add that I am fairly experienced at Thief, as well as most dungeons. I’ve played my Thief most in dungeons, and Guardian I hardly ever touch. I have a good sense of game mechanics (dodging etc). I know both can bring interesting utility – Guardian more so. What would you guys say most experienced groups prefer? I tend to pug but am looking into getting active in more organized play.
So I’ve finally given up on my Necro. I’m going to be maining either Thief or Guard next. Both are zerker/scholar, etc.
Suggestions?
Seeing the Grenth Hood in game I’m going to pass. I think the skull part is too thin.
If it’s an in game reward (lol) I’ll get it but I won’t spend gems
All I can think of is Scarlet killing Abaddon now lols.
I guess those of you that voted Kiel preserved what little Guild Wars lore is left. Thanks!
or blue
Any information on where this thing is available from? Is it on the store yet??
Is grenth helm in store????
If I didn’t play the game, and was considering it, this would have completely turned me off and made me run. It’s so awkward and uncomfortable and… I don’t know. Just weird.
How would Disease be a zerg buster with all the AoE cleanses?
The issue here is not the difference between armor classes. What matters is the viability discrepancy between the “useful” classes and those not so useful – those that can, and those that cannot. Making this argument about armor class gives any developer an easy answer, and it’s unfortunate that that was how this thread opened.
The content is tailored for optimal efficiency through maxing raw damage. This shouldn’t exist in A.) a game with 8 professions that have vastly unique personal abilities or B.) a game that was advertised under the banner of “play how you want”.
Whether it was intentional or not, they allocated the most useful abilities among half (roughly) of the professions. I will give them credit for recent content, as it is friendlier towards different types of group compositions, but ultimately DPS will reign. That isn’t a bad thing, it’s just that I think the content should give all play styles as meaningful a role as straight DPS. A lot of it has to do with boss mechanics (or lack of). There is a thread going on in the Necromancer forum about the restrictions content places on classes (and I believe the Necromancer community feels the burn of this more than any other).
Back on topic: I’m betting that they are holding out their more exciting releases to coincide with TESO, EQN, and other upcoming MMOs. If they keep pumping out one mediocre piece after another then I will have no problem jumping ship to another MMO when it launches.
It was largely relating to uncategorized fractal and its connection to Thaumanova.
@Stephen no it wasn’t that one, it was actually very well thought out and realistically applicable. I’ll try to dig it up.
Enjoy it! It’s the best focus skin.
Who had the theory months ago about the Skritt and Thamuanova
Well I don’t like living story so I feel like I’ve been missing out.
See how this works?
Oh hey, it’s this thread again
I would bet my gold that the new fractals will be multi-class friendly, similar to the newer instances. Necro wasn’t a bad choice before (for most fractals) and I’m looking forward to running mine through the new ones.
But what if I wana play my necro
Then play your Necro…
I’ve played mine exclusively in fractals, PL 45 and I do fine. People not letting you in? make your own.
The mined data says that the recipes will be found anywhere a precursor can drop, so if they are even remotely as rare as a precursor then the whole thing is moot
I think this would be great.
Yes that’s also my belief. I’m interested to see how they implement the other dragons, and what they’ve learned from Zhaitan.
Yeah that’s the main reason for the part of me that agrees with you. I have been hinging on this “force of nature” concept since release because I thought it was a very unique concept for an antagonist. Because of that concept I find a lot of contradictions for the dragons’ actions/motivations(or lack of).
Do you think they know the reason for their awakening, as in they’re like “okay I have to awaken and eat this magic” or just that they come awake when there is imbalance in magic and they follow a formulaic form of their purpose (to consume)?
What’s the connection between this awakening and the previous in regards to the dragons themselves? Are there Elder Dragons, or the Elder Dragons. Are we experiencing the same dragons that awoke in the previous cycle, or physical representations of (for lack of a better term) generic elder dragons? Yes, they are named properly so this gives some indication to the answer, as well as the fact that they went to sleep but the dragons have been described previously as a force of nature (I’m not sure if that has been retconned yet). So comparing them to, say, a hurricane:
We get different hurricanes but, the definition of a hurricane is always the same. Are we experiencing Zhaitan, or a Zhaitan-like awakening of an elder dragon?
I feel like I’m having trouble finding the words for what I actually want to ask… I’ll edit later if it comes to me better.
Thanks
WoodenPotatoes brought this theory into play I think, or at least he made it popular. He has a lot of theories which are fun to watch, but usually pretty outlandish.
I think what this type of content will need in the future is more of the dynamic event road blocks that they have throughout the tower. Where they are, they are very good at keeping players in one place long enough for others to catch up and participate.
Hopefully we will seem some DAT mining done soon for fractal rewards.
My group used to roll Harpy instead of swamp as first zone, and me (thief) and our mesmer would stealth through/portal the first harpy zone, blow up the champs/Tom, and skip second harpy part and finish in about 5-8 minutes.
We spent about 15 trying to do the Blink trick the other night. So sad. RIP
