When you use a tonic in WvW, does your name still appear above your head to enemies? Or could you use tonics in fun ways to pretty much hide in plain sight?
the exact # will be hard to determine but in order to not break the game and keep the price reasonable. Here is my suggestion:
Currently 30 cof tokens can be traded in to get 1 rare that typically can be salavaged for 1 ecto and maybe 2-3 mithril. (Sometimes more than 1 ecto)
so 30 tokens = 30s more or less. Now if we want to keep a price of a lodestone around 1-1.5g, it should be 100-150 tokens per.
I think this would make dungeons worth doing again. I remember the last time i ran any other dungeon except Cof and Fotm for some ascended rings.
With this addition, i would actually start doing dungeons more.
100-150 would be very very fair. You could easily assure yourself of a lodestone a day just by doing two paths of a dungeon. Then of course you could get more by farming paths repeatedly.
And I agree, it would definitely start encouraging people to run other dungeons which would be a very good thing.
I find it pretty funny in events (harathi is a good example) where you have to wait a few minutes after an event is over for all the enemies to do their ‘death’ animation as the models appear in game so you can loot them.
I didn’t see mention of pve culling being treated separately to WvW culling? Was that a dev reply somewhere?
They replied somewhere that they don’t have a solution yet for PvE culling. Really don’t know where the post was but it is 100% separate from WvW culling. This new patch that will get rid of WvW culling will do nothing for PvE
As for PvE culling…Players culling in PvE isn’t as big of a deal as it is in WvW because well, you aren’t fighting players in PvE. It’s the culling of the enemies that makes absolutely no sense. Enemies should never be disappearing on PvE. There are not enough of them to warrant them disappearing and we should NEVER have to struggle to see what we are fighting.
A big group of players failed the grenth temple cleansing event (you know the easy event after you kill Grenth) because no one could see the enemies that popped up and killed Jonez.
Out of curiosity, what would be a fair price for you? And do you think the lodestones would have to become account bound in order for them to be sold at the vendors?
6 months from now you will have laurels coming out of your eyeballs and will be complaining you can’t even spend enough of them to get rid of all the piles of laurels you have.
No…Not with only getting 1 Laurel per day and 10 per month and not with the price of things. Only people that will have “piles of laurels” will be people who don’t spend them on any single item. These aren’t dungeon tokens. You can’t just farm them.
I’d just go around and ask someone or a friend if they can see the star. No real way of seeing yourself
It should automatically show up if you have 100% world completion. Are you sure you have 100% of the WORLD? And what makes you think the star isn’t next to your name right now?
to be perfectly honest i don’t see why this would or should bother anyone, don’t want to use laurels for shards? then don’t……
because the price is absolutely ridiculous and is a trick to make it seem like we have other ways to get things. No one in their right mind is going to use their laurels to buy obsidian shards at that price. It is no where near being a reasonable ratio. Not even close. Just because it doesn’t bother you, that doesn’t mean it isn’t allowed to bother other people. If something is grossly mispriced then people are going to complain.
Each dungeon should sell a specific lodestone that you can buy with tokens from that specific dungeon. The price doesn’t need to be cheap but there should be other ways to get lodestones rather than just luck or gold.
That has to be some kind of joke right? Now before you jump all over me I know you can easily buy Obsidian Shards for karma and that is what I do. But honestly, 3 Obsidian Shards for 3 Laurels? How is that any where near a fair price? 3 days of dailies for 3 obsidian shards? You can get way more than 3 obsidian shards in karma in a single day. No one is ever going to use Laurels to purchase obsidian shards. Why even have such a horrendous ratio like that? Is it supposed to make it appear like we have different ways of getting obsidian shards?
Yeah I wasn’t talking about the event chests in cursed shore. I was talking about the random chests you find out in the world. I know Harathi has a chest that always drops a rare but it’s a low level rare. I was wondering if there was one like that in cursed shore.
As for people claiming they aren’t getting rares from the buffed chests…Well you simply need to pay attention more and stop claiming you didn’t get a rare because you didn’t see it pop up on your screen when you opened the chest.
Is there a chest in cursed shore that is guaranteed to give a rare? I thought I heard someone say there was but I can’t see to find it.
What’s this snowflakes thing? I’ve been gone from the game for a while so I’ve missed a lot.
I just need all the help I can get farming T6 mats for my legendary and this would be an opportunity to get a huge amount of Heavy Moldy Bags. I just don’t want to you know, get banned and have it all be lost if I decide to farm this event for an extended period of time.
Sometimes the penitent/shelter event chains get bugged and there is a stuck “fort progress” event that constantly spawns wave of enemies. Is taking advantage of this something you can get in trouble for?
Someone probably cornered that market so they are selling it for much higher price.
I’m doing dungeons, WvW, sPvP, farming Cursed Shore for gold/materials for my legendary item, farming world bosses for more rares, exotics for more gold or precursor for my legendary, guild missions. Haven’t even touched fractals yet and I’m having a blast.
This is a good change.
I have 3 80’s. Literally all I was doing was farming the big events all day.
With the new change we’ll still get plenty of rares… Let’s count…
1. Shatterer
2. Tequatl
3. Jormag
4. Maw
5. Shadow Behemoth
6. Fire Elemental
7. Golem
8. Jungle Wurm
9. Free Harathi chest
10. Free Cursed Shore chestRight there that’s still at least 10+ rares per day just on those events. That’s 70+ rares per week just for doing the events listed. There are others as well but these are the easiest 10.
I think we can all live with this.
Where exactly are these free chests? I went to one that I thought was the Harathi chest and got a low level rare when I opened it. I haven’t even heard of a cursed shore chest. What is that one?
A great change to a huge problem!

How does that new event timer website prevent griefing?
I’m confused…many of you are talking about this in a way that makes it sound like there will be an actual single scavenger hunt event with a chance at a precursor at the end…But the post from the dev doesn’t say something like that at all. It says: “We also have plans to add more fun ways to acquire Legendary precursor items with a more “scavenger hunt” feel than they are acquired currently.”
That doesn’t say anything like what the people in this thread seem to be getting at. As in there will be some big scavenger hunt event for a chance at a precursor. It sounds like they are just going to implement other ways in game at obtaining precursor items that make it more exciting like a scavenger hunt instead of how it is now where you basically just have to farm gold or win the lottery in the mystic toilet.
Did I miss a dev post somewhere that they stated there is going to be some singular scavenger hunt event? Because to me it just sounds like they simply said they would add a scavenger hunt like feel to obtaining a precursor so we don’t just have to grind grind grind.
So we put an overflow in your overflow so you can overflow while you overflow.
Not lying there are currently TWO overflows for Frostgorge Soung for people wanting to do Jormag.
Overflowception…We must go deeper.
This is getting out of hand.
That is what the NPC after you kill Grenth should say. A group of players just failed the event after you kill Grenth because enemies weren’t popping in because of culling. No one saw any monsters.

Um…………no.
The pre event for Arah is a great one! I forgot all about that because it has been a few weeks since I have farmed anything. I’ll have to remember that for tonight.
Do all the escort missions before the final escort to Balthazar only have enemies that mainly give LARGE Moldy Bags? That’s pretty much all I get there so it makes me not even want to farm that escort event.
Transmutation isn’t unrealistic and impractical at all. Just because you lose an item that doesn’t mean you can’t get it again. Just because you don’t want to make the effort to get it again doesn’t mean they need to completely change the gear system from dungeons.
A question for anyone who runs full clerics on a d/d elementalist: How much does each cast of a spell heal you for when using Signet of Restoration? Just looking to see how high that heal for each spell cast can get
^ What he said. Before the patch you could farm these events and ‘tag’ wave after wave of risen and get tons of heavy moldy bags. Now, these events will ‘scale’ with the number of players participating and champion level risen will appear. This slows down the amount of loot you would otherwise have gotten. These events are on a 10-20 minute timer, and if you are lucky you can run from one event, to the next, to the next, and then rinse and repeat.
And yes, there still are other sources of heavy moldy bags. But the Pent/Shelter/Jofast chain was an excellent source for lots of continuous bags and that has been slowed.
You can still get a good amount of heavy moldy bags by farming other events in Orr.
My favorite is the pre events for the gates of arah. So many waves of enemies come on that one part
Ah ok I thought it was those random events that always seem to be up. Thanks
The heavy moldy bags were an excellent source of T6 materials until the last patch. They still are, but the Pent/Shelter events where you could gain a whole stack of these fast were buffed with champions. This slows down the accumulation of heavy moldy bags if you are farming them at these events.
Still, they are probably one of the best sources for T6 materials right now.
Sorry for the nooby question but what are the Pent/Shelter events? Haven’t been 80 for very long and I don’t really pay attention to the event text haha
I’ll leave this here for you as its a good read to get a general idea on how to make money and get T6 mats.
Oh God…reading that is going to kill me. Going to buy like 1000 bags and probably get 10 tier 6 mats
Your odds are actually greater than that. Also farming these is equally as valid. You should be able to amass 100-200 in under 2 hours of playing if you run event chains throughout Orr.
Oh yeah I get tons of bags in Orr when I do the events. I hope my odds are much greater. I never feel like I have much luck with stuff like this. Will buy a ton of these later and see how I do

Like is it stacking certain stats? I see so many people mentioning that term, “bunker build” but I can’t find anywhere that actually says what a bunker build is. Is it just P/V/T gear?
Also, consider how many ectos you will need in the end and the rate you acquire them before selling them all.
Personally I’d rather be sitting on all the tier 6 materials I need and only need to farm 250 more ectos. I barely have any tier 6 materials while ectos are incredibly easy to come by. From world event chests to just running dungeons and purchasing the equipment for 30 tokens each…you can build up ectos pretty darn fast.
I’m thinking of just selling all the ectos i get now as their price is continuing to drop. It’s so easy to get ectos that I could easily get a good amount of gold each day. Then once I have all my tier 6 materials bought with gold I can save my ectos for crafting. I don’t want to hold all my ectos…not have enough gold to buy tier 6 mats and then have the ectos price drop even more
Is it better to just do things to gain gold as quickly as possible? Or to try and farm the tier 6 materials for legendary weapons? If it’s better to just try and farm the materials, what do you suggest doing? Where do you farm?
Is using the superior and major runes of water along with superior rune of the monk really worth it just for the boon duration? I know it really jacks up your boon duration but is that really so much better than using other runes that give you more stats?
More grind, added ascended gear, dailies are mandatory, game is not alt friendly.
Enjoy ^^
I love when someone posts something like this but leaves out the part where dailies are now easier than ever to get.
Which profession? What weapons? What trait setup? Just curious as I always like to have at least one character in a game that is super tanky for those times where I just want to be so incredibly hard to kill. Don’t care about damage output at the moment. Just pure defense.
Here are some tips I can give you. I only play d/d elementalist and feel rather comfortable playing it after all this time. One thing you should learn is how to use your abilities in the best way (obviously)…but I really mean is using them so they all work together in some way.
I usually always start a fight in fire attunement. The 3 ability lets you slide into the fight. A good thing to learn with the Fire 3 ability is the range, as you do an extra burst of damage where you stop sliding. So you want to make sure the enemies will get hit at the end of the slide. After using Fire 3 you can use Fire 2 which will set the enemies on fire and do some good damage. Setting enemies on fire will let Fire 5 do extra damage. Then use Fire 4 which will put down a ring of fire. This ring of fire is important! Switch to earth attunement and immediately use Earth 3. This will work with Fire 3’s fire field and give you a fire aura/shield. After you use Earth 3, use Earth 4 inside the ring of fire to give area might with a blast finisher. Set off an Earth 2 for some extra damage. You can use Earth 5 but that’s only if you feel like you can safely channel it.
From there it can be really up to you. You definitely want to be switching to water and air as much as you can because the auras you can activate from those attunements will give you fury(if you have your traits spec’d for that, which you should). You basically want to constantly have fury on you. You can do this by increasing your boon durations. In fights I always have fury on me. Swapping attunements also grants you fury if you are spec’d into it (which you should be).
Air is also really great for dps. The Air 1 ability puts out a lot of damage. If you ever use Air 5 make sure to instantly switch to fire attunement and use Fire 3 to get you right back into the fight. The distance Air 5 knocks you back is usually the perfect distance away for Fire 3.
It just really takes some practice to get down a good rhythm in fights. But the sequence I described from starting in fire to switching to earth is a pretty good place to start. Just make sure to never stay in one attument for too long as most d/d builds have you benefiting the most from constantly switching.
Looking to go back to my warrior that I started back when the game first came out. Ended up switching to d/d elementalist but I would like to have an alt to level up with a friend. So, any stand out dual axes builds?
My d/d elementalist doesn’t suffer from this at all. No I don’t sit there and go through the same exact cycle every fight. Different fights call for different usages of my attunements. I don’t feel like there is a single useless ability on my d/d elementalist and I use all 20 of them constantly when the situation calls for it.
People aren’t forced to co operate and work together or strategize like in other mmo’s that we’ve all played in the past.
Good luck doing AC path 2 or CoF path 2 final bosses with no cooperation or strategy. I’m under the impression that anyone who says that you aren’t forced to work together or strategize has never stepped foot into a dungeon.
I hate all the masks but I can’t find an actual helmet that looks cool
looks like I will be sticking to the ghastly daggers. I really like their effect and pinkish mist or subtle splashes of water are not really peaking my interest. thanks everyone!
Obviously I know the legendary dagger does…but I mean are there any other daggers that have cool effects like the Ghastly Daggers you get from AC? Those glow blue at night and so far are my choice of daggers before I get my legendary. Was just wondering if there are any other daggers that have special effects or anything.

Last week it was at dragons. Your FPS would be fine but you could barely get off any skills. Skills would be lagging or not even going off at all. Now it has made its way to WvW. We had a big guild night in WvW and while our FPS was fine, we couldn’t fight because of the skill lag. It was even lagging when you weren’t in fights at all. This is really ruining the experience for a lot of people. Did they just change something in WvW in the last few days that is causing this?
