While your post does have some merit, and I do agree with you on something. However posting these types of threads is fruitless. It’ll just get lock, and a bunch of can I have your stuff comments.
Best thing to do is just leave, when Anet sees their population keep slipping maybe they’ll do something about it.

How do you get so many Gauntlet Chances?
Isn’t it one per boss kill in QG, or is there a place that rewards them I’ve not picked up on?People translate 1 Ticket to 1 Chance by repeatedly killing Halmi?
What I do is;
Full zerker dps builds.
Play at off hours, so you don’t have to wait.
Halmi with three gambits. This will give you four chances per kill, easiest gambits I found are cripple, burning, and bleeding.
Heavens Rage
Did another 200 tonight, and no luck at all. Just tokens, guess I’ll try again tomorrow night.
Heavens Rage
Seems like a decent spot, very similar to the shark/tuna farm on Southsun Cove before they nerfed it.
Heavens Rage
That’s why you don’t see a lot of dps guards in higher levels of play. Sure, you can make it work and do relatively well. However you are better off going another profession for the most part.

I opened +500 so far, and all I got was two minis. The rng in this game is really disappointing.
Which ones?
Reef Rider and Toxic Hybrid

This should clear up any more confusion;
Zealot’s Defense: Updated the description of this skill to clarify that it doesn’t block projectiles, but rather destroys them.
Heavens Rage
There are a couple of ways Anet could go about this;
Keep the map the same, and just remove it from soloq.
Remove the glass panels, and make Skyhammer dodgeable. Leave it in soloq, and possibly add to teamq. Fixing these two things would significantly reduce that amount of frustration on this map.
Heavens Rage
Considering gw2 hasn’t had any real competition since release, it only makes sense that it’s one of the best on the market atm. Once some of the other bigger mmos are release this year and next, we’ll see how things go for anet.
Heavens Rage
I, too will being moving on to WS. The last ~two years of GW2 has been great. However this isn’t the game I’m looking for, and I don’t like the direction it’s heading in. Anet made a fantastic game, but it’s not for me. Like other players have stated. The two games are complete opposites, and they attract different types of players.
Heavens Rage
I pretty much stopped playing all together, insanely long que times. Even when I do finally get a game, they are always blow outs on either sides.
Heavens Rage
After playing WS for a bit, I can honestly say I miss the trinity. It’s nice not having to rely on anyone in gw2, however I believe the trinity will get you better fights both in PvE and WvW. I like gw2 attempt at something new, but it’s far from prefect.

Conditions are the best way to deal with Guards. Yes they have a lot of removers, however you can eventually wear them down. Playing against a team with a skilled necro(s) is one of the most frustrating things to do. A good engi(s) can also be a problem.
Heavens Rage
This happens from time to time. The leaderboards won’t update for a few hours, I’m assuming it’s a bug that they never fixed or looked into.
Heavens Rage
This whole Lawless set has been completely underwhelming.
Heavens Rage
I’m also not really a fan of scepter when it comes to bunker. When it comes to CC, you’re better of going hammer. Besides Chains of Light, scepter doesn’t really have any utility. Sure you get a range option, but your damage is going to be low. So that’s not a huge factor. I’d rather have a lot of CC to help my team (hammer), or more of a support tool (mace). For the most part I run, mace/shield/staff or hammer/staff. I will go hammer/mace/shield, but that’s just for Skyhammer. There’s nothing wrong with going scepter, however in my view there are better options.

The main sink for Karma, though, is Obsidian Shards – and we can get a whole bunch of those (along with the Mystic Clovers that they’re used for) from the reward tracks.
I was wondering how we’d get Karma when the announcement was made that all items needed for legendaries would be available within PvP – I’m quite happy with the Obsidian Shards instead of Karma (though we still get a tiny amound of the purple triangle stuff from dailies, monthlies and the occasional champ bag).
The only things I might want to buy with Karma that aren’t Obsidian Shards are skins (and getting to the merchants that sell them will probably generate enough for what you want) and PvE-only items (like Fire Elemental Powder) that you’re proooobably doing PvE events for anyway.
While karma to shards is one of the main reasons for it. There are others reasons for karma; gearing and profit. If they got rid of the shards in PvP, and replaced it with karma. This would give the player the choice to spend it on shards or how they please.
Heavens Rage
Karma is available in every other aspect of the game except pvp. I believe they should add karma. PvP matches are a type of event, so it’s only fair they be rewarded as such. I’m not asking for a lot, maybe around 300-350 for a win, and 100 for a loss. This would put it on par with PvE/WvW events. This wouldn’t vastly effect the game economy, and it would be beneficial to the players.
Heavens Rage
Losing streaks happen, it’s the luck of the draw. Just the other day I went from the top 25 all the way to 400 something. Generally when I hit really bad streaks I’ll do one of two things. Either I’ll just stop playing for the day, and forget about it. Or I’ll take a serious look at my own gameplay, and see if I’m at fault.
If you’re a strong player you’ll easily bounce back from it.
Heavens Rage
I pray to the spirits of the wild, but they rarely answer.
Heavens Rage
I just salvage all the fine, masterwork, and rares I get. Sometimes exotic depending on how much they cost. I have a base MF of 175%. MF works, but it’s more of a long term investment. It’ll take time to actual see a profit.
Heavens Rage
In my view, Guardians are in a good spot. However there is always need for improvement. The biggest issue for me is the lack of soft CCs for a melee heavy class. There are ways around this through the use of runes, sigils, and consumables. However it should be built into the guard, and I shouldn’t have to rely on third party items. Some traits also need slight tweaking, and other need complete overhaul. Kindled Zeal is a prime example.
Overall Guardian is in a much better spot then most professions.
Heavens Rage
Magic Find has always been terrible, this is nothing new.
Heavens Rage
I was up to rank 29 at one point playing warrior but then I wanted to git gud at thief, ele, and guardian, and so I lost a lot of rating learning those new classes. Now with the insurgence of scrubs into soloq it’s extremely difficult to rise back up because most of my progress is getting muted by 4v5’s. Idk why but I feel like I get a lot more 4v5’s than I do 5v4’s.
Don’t worry about the leaderboards. They don’t mean anything, there are way too many factors in soloq for people to take them seriously. Just play the game and forget about it. If you’re not having fun anymore, I recommend just taking a break from it.
Heavens Rage
I highly recommend soloq if you’re a masochist.
Heavens Rage
Lately I’ve been using this for my tpvp matches, it’s a pretty common build I just changed the ammy and such. It’s extremely tanky, and still hits hard. It relies a lot on might stacks for your power, you average about 15 stacks of might by yourself. Even more if you op to use rune of strength, but I prefer speed.
Heavens Rage
I’m all for long term goals and carrot on a stick per se, but 10k with no other kind of incentive along the way is ridiculous. It should be restructured to something like this:
2.5k wins= Elite Brawler
5k wins= Champion Brawler
10k wins= Legendary Brawler
Like the person with the most amount right now has what? Like 5k or 6k, and it’s been almost two years. So it’ll take someone either three or four years to get a single title.
Heavens Rage
(edited by Harbinger.8637)
People would have got the old level 80 before getting this title. 10k wins is a bit much.
Lets say you play four games per hour, and lets even go as far to say you win them all. That’s 96 wins in a day, so it would take 104 days of playing non-stop and perfectly to achieve it.
Heavens Rage
It’s not working for me either. Restarting or relog doesn’t help.
Heavens Rage
I think the biggest thing is to find a guild that has similar goals to you in WvW. If you can’t find one, you can always make one. Solo roaming can be a bit frustrating I agree. However small group is some of the best times I have in WvW. Very fun and rewarding. Also you can xfers to some of the lower tiers, they are less zergy however there are still decent size groups.
Here’s some small scale roaming in bronze league. (yeah I know bronzeleaguelolz)
Just remember it’s a game, try to have fun!
Heavens Rage
We’re not asking to remove the map from the game, it’s a fun map and you can tell a lot of detail and work went into it. Just remove it from SoloQ, if it’s not in teamQ it shouldn’t be in SoloQ.
Instead you remove Raid on the Capricorn!

You can’t really fault them for using the builds they did. They used the most effective comp. Do I like their play style and builds? No, it’s boring to play and watch, with a very low skill cap. However the point of a tournament is to win, and they did what they had to.
Heavens Rage
I agree there is no reason to have these, they show nothing meaningful. All it does is lead to egoist gameplay and arguments. Now if they showed stats that actually meant something such as; damage taken, damage output, healing, and etc. Then I would be more be more inclined to have it.
Heavens Rage
Very good advice so far, only thing I’d recommend is using Benevolence over Life. This thread goes into more details about it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/balance/Sigil-of-Benevolence-vs-Sigil-of-Life
Heavens Rage
I don’t agree with lack of different game modes. I think conquest is perfect mode and no other mode can ever work.
However, PvP is in very bad shape right now. I couldn’t care less if I win or lose a match. There is no benefit from winning at all. Leaderboard is pretty much a fail at its current state. Something has to be fixed about that.
I agree there is no reason to win for the most part. Even if you lose you still get rank points and points towards your reward track. So it really doesn’t matter, sure you’ll get it faster if you win. However that’s a very poor incentive.
Heavens Rage
Selfless Daring is one of the few skills that scales very well with healing power.
I love many don’t read that i’m coming from an spvp PoV where Selfless Daring got nerfed significantly. Revolving ones build around this trait is also mindless in the fact that you’re promoting random dodges in the hopes that it keeps your health up.
Even though SD coefficient isn’t as high there. More then one build can use it effectively. Sure it’s not as strong on DPS builds, but that doesn’t make it a bad trait. With that being said, I do agree with you it should have a higher coefficient in pvp. I thought I remember reading somewhere that Anet was buffing it to .7 in pvp, but I guess they changed their minds.

Harbinger, I was wondering what build you were using in your [List] roaming video, as it seemed to have decent damage while being quite tanky. My guild does small group roaming as well, so it would be a perfect match!
Sure, I was running a support build.
Heavens Rage
While I can appreciate all the work that went into making this tournament. It just pretty much highlighted everything wrong in pvp.
An extremely boring meta with Asuras.
Game breaking bugs and server crashes.
Rewards somewhat lacking, so teams (or individual) don’t feel the need to play.
Heavens Rage
Yes, this is extremely boring to watch.
Heavens Rage
Guard has always had very high burst potential. However it’s extremely predictable and easy to read. That’s why most people don’t have an issue with it.
Heavens Rage
I wouldn’t recommend Exuberance either. They are extremely expensive for what you get. The conversion rate on the stats is very minor.
Heavens Rage
Selfless Daring is one of the few skills that scales very well with healing power.
Heavens Rage
New video is up, and I’m also almost done with utilities section. I’ll have it up sometime this weekend if everything goes to plan.
Heavens Rage
Flame Legion would be more beneficial for guard. Pure condition guard builds are subpar compared to a direct damage build. Flame Legion gives you power and a damage multiplier, so you could make a decent hybrid build for direct damage and condition.
Heavens Rage
Doesn’t matter how high you get. You’ll still have teammates that are completely clueless at times. While that match making system does its job fairly well, you still get players that are way out of their skill range.
Heavens Rage
While it’s an interesting build, that’s not really the point of a bunker guard. Bunker Guard is used for support, this is pretty much just a tanky 1v1 build. Very little team synergy. Other classes can do that better.
Heavens Rage
They both have pros and cons. Melandru is a bit more selfish, and focuses more on self preservation. It also allows you to run other things then shouts. Trooper is better for team support, and the stats distribution is much better.
So it really just depends on what you’re trying to accomplish. I have Melandru on a set, and Trooper on another. Can’t go wrong with either.
