You can use +75, but I always used 80s. Don’t know if lvl increases the chance.

CKS is all I ever used. Never understood people using exotic. You’re using four exotics to get one exotic….

I understand the chance is higher with exotics, but it doesn’t seem worth it. Atleast with rares you can get an exotic from it. I had a couple of runs where I got +5 exotics in a row.

My dps is fine, not too worried. These are my stats right now. Pretty much balanced across the board.

No, Dawn doesnt have particle effects, not even an unique skin. You can get the same skin on a named 2g worth sword, forgot the same.
Same with Dusk —> Naegling.

Wow lame. They’re some rares with particle effects. Yet one of the hardest weapons to get doesn’t. Plus it doesn’t have a unique skin. lol how does that make sense Anet?

Question does Dawn have any particle effects or anything? I look around the web and can’t find anything about it. Don’t want to equip and get it soulbound…

Other exotic gs have them. So I’m guessing a precursor would, but who knows lol.

Does Voice of Pure work with Altruistic Healing?

Voice of Pure: Allies affected by shouts convert one condition to a boon.

lol I didn’t know that about Altruistic Healing. I was using a mediation build for heals. Need to try a shout build now.

It doesn’t. Badges of Honor would have been better, but that still wouldn’t help. Best way would be some kind of voting system.

Ok, a little about myself. I’m a guildless Sylvari Guardian on Kianag thats been playing since early release. For the most part all I do is WvW, once in awhile you could see me grinding on Cursed Shore. I have +3k kills in WvW, and I love it in general.

When I first started playing I remember thinking how awesome it would be to be a commander, and the minute I got my 100g I was going to do it. Now that I actually have the required gold. I don’t know if I want to.

Do I want people constanly following me around, asking me question, and looking for advice? Plus you have all the people that are going to troll you. I mean it would be nice to get the help I ask for if I become one and people would acutally kinda listen to me.

So this is mainly aimed at commanders, but I’d like everyones opinion too. Is being a commander worth it and the gold?

Now the big problem, keep or sell. Right now I really don’t want a legendary, but I use a Greatsword in all my builds so it could be beneficial, but Dawn doesn’t look that great, if it was Dusk I’d keep it in a heartbeat.

So comes the second question. Selling it I can make alot of money of this thing right now, but I don’t know how much. What would be a reasonable price? I know I dropped atleast +100g in the forge so 200 would be the minimum I guess.

Yes, that is correct. Just like all the other precursors. It’s incredible hard to get.

Yes it is. I’ve been running this build for quite sometime now, and I’m happy to say I’ve yet to lose in a 1v1. Won my fair share of 2v1/3v1 also. Anything pass that is ridiculous I can down one, but the kill is hard. :P

Greatsword/Hammer, and I use all meditations with Signet of Resolve/Renewed Focus.

This build is all about meditations and retaliation. I mainly use the meditions for heals and cure conditions, but they also do dmg. Then retaliation is one of my main soucres of dmg.

I have a pretty good combo going on my hammer right now. I run gs/hm.

Glacial Heart: Critical hits with a hammer have a 50% chance to chill your target for 4 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 45 seconds.

Rune of Svanir: +15% Frozen Duration

Superior Sigil of Hydromancy: Freeze nearby foes for 3 second when you swap to this weapon while in combat.

2) You can atleast get an exotic out of it, so you get an upgrade. 4 exotics=exotic not much room for improvement…

I tried Consecration builds before they’re not bad just really situational.

I can’t get away from my Meditation build. I just love the heals you get from it. <3

Which will take you awhile. For an average gamer I’d say atleast three months if you don’t nothing, but work on it.

The endgame is great too me. It’s a bit overwhelming sometimes.

I not going to lie, I’ve spent alot of gold trying for either Dusk/Dawn. Everytime I get to 20 gold, I use around 15 of it just in the Forge. I’ve spent more then 100 gold so far with nothing to show for it. It’s ridiculous how low the % is. I had a nice couple of runs before +5 exotics (from rares) in a row, but no Dusk/Dawn.

Yeah, I’m guessing it’s the Rune of Noble.

I’ve been thinking about switching to Kaineng. Started off at GoM and then hacking went down and the server took a nose dive. On SoS right now which is a good server, but it’s mostly Oceanic peeps.

I generally like smaller servers because there’s better unity and a tighter bond because you pretty much just see the same players.

Most of the legendaries do seem underwhelming, but you have to remember we haven’t seen any of the effects for them. Only Sunrise, and that looks great. So I’m sure Anet did something special for each one.

Guardian are pretty legit if you know what you are doing. I can solo a supply camp in WvW as long as the supervisor doesn’t have Righteous Indignation.

Not really. I’m running a GS/Hammer combo.

GS has a leap and pull
Hammer has two immobilise.

Then I can always run Judge’s Intervention.

I wasted around 20 gold on the forge trying for a Dusk or Dawn.

I pretty much give up. You probably have a better chance of getting it in a chest or random drop. (ppl have)

I assume Frozen duration benefits the Chill effect, in which case you could use that with the Hammer and its valor trait “Glacial Heart”,but even then i find that trait kinda bad due to the long cooldown.
Does +% Frozen Duration increase your block of ice duration as well?

I never even thought about it, but I tried it out and it works. Not a huge buff though. From 4 to ~6 seconds. The block of ice is still five seconds.

(3): +50 Toughness
(4):-50% Frozen Duration
(5): +90 Toughness
(6): Become a block of ice for 5 seconds when you fall below 20% health. (Cooldown: 90s)

Yeah I know the Frozen is pointless, but I love the block of ice. This plus Renewed Focus is eight seconds of invulnerability. Great for WvW trolling. lmao

Pretty much become a block of ice, then I pop all my virtues. Go into Renewed Focus by the time I’m done it should have bought time for my utilities to reset.

Only thing useful was the Alpha Siege Golem blueprint.

Guardian is great for keep defense. Use the staff and spam AoE on the gate. Plus Tome of Wrath spam on the gate.

I somewhat agree. Why would I choose sPvP over WvW?

In WvW you get larger battles. Plus you can go off alone and get into a 1v1 if you want. The rewards are better in WvW and there’s also PvE content.

I can understand tPvP, but sPvP I don’t get.

Alot of people probably know about this build, but I’d like to share it. I have yet to lose a 1v1 with it, and won +2v1. Easily the best build I had so far for dmg and survivability.

So why is this build so effective? It revolves around two main things Retaliation and Meditation. Retaliation is your main source of dmg and you are using Meditations to heal and cure conditions.
