Guild Wars 2

I just started a Mesmer a couple of days ago overall I enjoy it, but I’m more of a melee player then range. I know they excel more at range then melee. Right now I’m trying two swords and sword/torch. Having a hard time in PvE and WvW. I pretty much get hit once or twice and I’m down.

So what I’m asking for is builds, traits, etc.

Shelter: No longer blocks.

Yeah, I just started a Mesmer the other day. Around lvl 30 now, and I have alot of bad habits I need to fix from playing my Guardian. The more I play the easier it gets, still alot harder then my Guardian for sure. Big thing I’m figuring it out, is it’s all about the shatters.

Really can’t wait until I get to 80 and unlock the full potential of it. Probably will become my main.

Why do you care if some dude spends hundreds of dollars on GW2 pixels? You didn’t spend hundreds of dollars on GW2 pixels so I’m pretty sure you came out ahead in the deal.

What is the point of playing to get rare items if rich people can just buy them from the start? It’s stupid – it would be like going to an amusement park – everyone pays the same $60 to get in. But the people who have $1000 gets to pay their way to the front of the line to go ride the Legendary rollercoaster, while the other 95% have to wait in a 500 hour line. Would that fly a Disney World? Hell no, it wouldn’t.

Alot of amusement parks have a pass that let you do this….

Well you could do either one. Zeal works fine for me, but you could try Honor too.

Sucks that it’s not 30% and only 15%, but it still works great. I personally love this build I made from the Crithammer. Never lost a 1v1, 2v1 are manageable, and 3v1 depending on the skill of the other players. Anything pass that I can down players, but getting the kill is a bit problematic.

Only 10k health?!?!

How does that work at all in wvw/pve? won’t you just get insta-killed before you’re able to react to anything? (Thieves especially, Cloak in Shadows > Steal > Backstab)

I can acutally take quite a beating.

Perfect Inscriptions and Purity means I lose three conditions every ten seconds. Plus I take 30% less dmg thanks to Signet of Judgment. I’m running the crithammer build for dmg and heals. It might not look like it, but I hit very hard and can take it too.

Plus I running x6 Runes of Rage which means I can get close to 60 seconds of fury, thanks to the Runes and Inner Fire. So I’m running around for close to a minute with 80% crit chance. lmao

This has me contemplative. Very interesting strategy you’ve got going. The one thing that had me raise my eyebrows is your use of Perfect Inscriptions + Crithammer. So both those traits require 30 radiance and 30 valor. Where did you put your other 5 points, out of curiosity?

The part that really fascinates me is the synergy between Perfect Signet of Judgement and Crithammer. Lower health pools + high flat damage reduction (from toughness and judgment) = much higher effective health from Crithammer provided you don’t die.

Put 5 in Zeal and Virtues. So that way when my hp does drop low. I get a free symbol for dmg and heals.

Well we are getting wrecked now, and I know why. Freg and Devona are out for blood.

The huge reason is War Machine is gone. They where the reason we where getting crazy night caps last match up. I know the other guilds do alot, but War Machine gave us a huge edge at night. Too bad they where just using the server as training and went back to Stormbluff Isle. If you guys didn’t know WM is one of the top guilds in this game, and owned hard in the first GW.

O well, still should be a good match up.

The Druid is alot better now. Before it would just stand there for the lols. Now it actually does things. I would use it more, but I hate the long CD it has. Also the cast time is a bit long so you can get interrupted.

Just think of it as a tank to take all the dmg.

Remove conditions
Immobilise

Never really bothered me.

Yes, my guardian played as part of the OoW. It was great, you’ll love Tybalt.

Well I bought alot of cool things.

Full tier 3 cultural armor
Everything exotic.

Alot of cool weapons imo that look better then legendaries. Corrupted Avenger, Immobulus, Deathwish, and etc.

So overall I’m happy with my purchases. I just hate being poor again.

This is probably the closest match up this week. Have to see what happens tonight, but if it’s anything like the other night. Kaineng should have the lead tomorrow morning. Just have to keep it through out the day!

Very fun set up. I changed a couple things around to suit my playstyle. Went 5/10/30/20/5. Went 10 in Radiance for Inner Fire. (you gain Fury when set on fire) Most people probably think that’s a meh major trait, but it works great with my Runes. x6 Rage.

(1): +2% Critical Damage
(2): +20% Fury Duration
(3): +3% Critical Damage
(4): 5% chance to gain Fury for 30 seconds when hit. (Cooldown: 60s)
(5): +5% Critical Damage
(6): +5% Critical Damage while under the effect of Fury.

Also running GS/Hammer with both Superior Sigil of Rage.

Hammer. Maximum AOE dmg.

Maybe. Updated score.

Only difference for me is I put five into Zeal and not Radiance. That’s just more Boons(for heals) and dmg.

I just did acouple of hours with the staff and it’s a blast. Never really bother with it until now.

Staff + shouts w/Altruistic Healing. You’re pretty much invincible, with all the boons going everywhere getting you heals lol. Plus using Empower then switching to the greatsword for lulz dmg.

Definitely going to be rocking the staff all the time. With either a gs or hammer, just depends on the mood.

I agree something is up. Take the supervisor at supply camps is WvW. These guys are glued to me. They’re +10 players pounding on him, and he will chase me none stop. I’m not even attacking him.

Another great thing I love to do. Great for buying time and trolling.

Health drops below 20% become invulnerable for five seconds. (Rune of Svanir)
Renewed Focus right after five more seconds. (if using elite focus)
Finally Shelter block two seconds.

That’s twelve seconds of invulnerability. LOL

Haven’t tried it since I run all shouts, but I’m sure you could use Sanctuary after Shelter. For another six seconds for a total of eighteen seconds.

I’m more of a bunker build atm, running greatsword and hammer. Pretty much I jump into the middle of the zerg and cause as much chaos as I can. I can break their line most of the time. I run all shouts w/Altruistic Healing. Which is great in WvW because all the allies around you most of the time.

I love Guardian in WvW you just feel like you’re invincible. Well I do…

Most of you guys are doing better then me. Just hit 3k kills the other day with only ~400 badges. Not that it matters to me, all the gear and weapons are ugly. Once I get Gift of Battle I won’t care about badges.

Thanks to Dawn, I finally got my tier 3 Sylvari cultural armor.

So I finally sold it for 300g. I think that is more then reasonable. Throwing it all back in the forge will probably wait. There’s alot of things I want to buy now.

All extoic rings and accessories
Maybe commander

Pretty happy with my decision.

If you guys want a nice looking scepter. Get the Immobulus. Alot easier and looks amazing. Check it out. I’ll be going for it.

Just started trying shields and can’t complain so far. I’m going to keep trying these because the cheapest rare shield is only 15s and I haven’t seen The Chosen on the TP.

32 rares= 5 rares and 2 exotics.

The Flameseeker Prophecies is a golden shield with a decorative book on it. When the shield is drawn, the book will light up with a blue shine and start flipping through the pages.

I can’t wait to see the Flameseeker Prophecies.

There’s only so much you can do with a shield. lol

This has been discussed to death. Guardians have a ton of heals and defensive abilities. They would be extremely op if you had one running around with +25k hp.

This has been happening to me alot lately. Plus the game crashes after the humming sound. So far it seems to happen when there’s a alot going on. Like a large WvWvW battle or a boss fight.

Grats. Sucks that it’s not really up to par with the others, but hey on the bright side still has to be better then Frenzy, Maw of the Deep, or Kamohoali. What’s the point of those unless you plan to spent all your time swimming….

Anyone use this over Signet of Resolve? Ok it has a shorter CD time by 10 seconds and blocks for two seconds. Resolve on the other hand cures a condition and heals for almost double.

I just don’t see the point. The block is nice, but that’s not worth giving up more heals and curing a condition every ten seconds.

Well, I thinking about doing something abit crazy. Most people will probably call me an idiot, but I talking about going all in. I could sell this Dawn right now for 226 gold, then I turn around a put it all back into the forge. I’m pretty sure I could make a killing on this if it goes right. 226 gold is like 1000 rare gs. Chances are pretty high I can get another, and I can just keep doing it.

I’ve made up my mind. I’m doing it. I’ll keep you guys posted. BLEH is going to be awhile I have to go grind. I need 12 gold to even sell it lol.

Thanks Harbinger. I’m not really at the point where I have any amount of disposable income to take a serious crack at them, but I might start throwing the odd 4 in here and there and see if the RNG gods are shining on me.

That’s the best thing to do. I hurt myself bad trying for it. Pretty much everytime I got some gold, I’d throw it all into the forge, and walk away broke. This thing is a gamble. You don’t throw your whole life savings into a Vegas Casino. Pretty much by the time you get all the other items you need for your legendary. You should have either Dusk or Dawn.

Just my two cents.
