Level scaling is good where its at now. I can already steamroll events in lowers in exotics & that makes my kitten feel good.

(There are parts of zones though that are downed leveled too far by about 5-8 levels that come to mind. 1 with lava elemetal worms near a vista and water, and another with wolfs just up a hill that all get pulled once u get to the top of the hill.)

Engineer traited Swift Kits in the Tool line – 5second swiftness with a 5second cd when u equip any kit – combine it with medkit’s Drop Stimulate and Elixir B; You will run forever.

Karma will be a great start. Hit the cathedrels in the Orr zones & you will find all the exotics u need through karma. Heres a good site to have with all the karma vendors from each cathedrel with different stat combos – http://dulfy.net/2012/09/08/gw2-templegod-karma-armor-sets/ – Legendaries however are very expensive, either in gold to buy off the TP or your play time to make it, it takes alot to get one.

TIP: Use those karma jugs when u have a Guild Karma banner buff, Karma Booster, and Ice Cream Food to get the most karma outta the jugs.

Power/Precision/Crit dmg. Greatsword does not bring conditions compared to other weapon options mesmers have. Its perty much raw damage

I would like to take this moment to remind those that do die to look around & see if there is a player that looks like they are heading your way through mobs just to get to you. Its worth the wait for that rez

Sounds suspicious that a person is banned 3 times for the same reason.
If your friend can ask support what specifically (in detail) is causeing this banning, maybe then it will narrow it down.
I do hope Anet is able to provide your friend with a detailed responce. Good luck though to your friend and this situation.

Something popular will sell much better then some “unheard of” or “no use” item. Divinity rune is great to sell if you ever get any. It leaves alot of room for spec swaps on the fly since it just buffs every stat u got = everyone and their mom wants it.
Best you can do OP is farm up/sell mats, run around Orr for events with a group, kill dragons, do your daily/monthly, or play the TP for profit. But save any & every coin you make, walking is free but waypoints cost an Arm & a Leg.

I salavage all white items & some blue as well. Masterwork/Rare I sell either TP or vendor. I have maxed out cloth/leather mats from using the 88C salvage kits on ALL salvages. (Except Master/BL kits on exotics/rare for the runes/sigils)
My leatherworker/tailor have been fine without the need to hit the TP for mats, I do not feel its “Unfair”.

Are you making your 1st toon with Leatherworker/Tailor?

If you have the Pop-Gun rifle skin, and are a Charr, slot ur racial “Hidden Pistol” & use your toolbelt ability with ur rifle equipped to annoy your friends/enemies!

I have come across 3 “teleporting bots” in all of my gaming since release. In every situation, their original locations are at entry portals to zones with herbs/mines/trees. More specific, one I came across at the portal entry to Hoelbrak in Wayfarer Foothills. Another was the portal entry to Kessex Hills in Queensdale. Both cases the bot would disappear, return with conditions/in combat stance, disappear, return with lower health, and if they are there long enough they will start porting naked (can’t get more obvious then that). Any profession can do it, not just the obvious ranger with juvenile bear.

Keep an eye on characters at entry portals if you see them, if they disappear & reappear after 3 seconds more then once/twice – its a bot. Take note of where they are standing & its possible to click them before they even physically show up, giving you enough time to report them. Best part is if they have an animation on them from weapon/ability (Fire,Frost,Swiftness, etc.), you can see the animation trail from the node they ported to/from.

If you can’t get the report off, a screenshot/video will do and send a email to – exploits@arena.net – with your proof attached/linked.

This wont get you banned due to this “Addon/Plug-in” not modifing files or giving an advantage in gameplay compared to other players without it.
Anet’s stance with this 1 in particular though has come across as “its a 3rd party addon, but you gain no benifits by using it”

Settings for the addon itself are fully customizable – from fog thickness, sharpness, and color saturation. You can even play the game in full black and white. It is a neat addon to play with & tweak as u play, definatly worth sitting down in lions arch & tweaking as u check the city out with a different look.

The top image is with the addon, & the other is without. The 3rd is just my engineer standing out in some human field. I do not use this addon to its full potential, but i wanted a sharper look & to adjust how far I could see.

For Lion’s Arch, when facing the bank from the entry door, the Guild Armorsmith and Weaponsmith is to the right on a deck.

Gives me time to get a quick drink, stretch, hit the bathroom fast, see whats going on tv, talk to the woman, pet the animal, scratch my butt, adjust myself in chair, do 10 jumping-jacks, participate in Scrabble, etc.

Something else to keep in mind to help you save on repair costs in the long run, Damaged Cost = Broken Costs.

Damaged armor does not reduce in stat value the more it is damaged. Stats do not benift the player once broken, which then becomes invisible until repaired.
(You can spot a bot if they are running around naked killing things in a path/circle. Also you can tell someone is AFK if they are dead & naked, let them stay dead cause your rez will only bring a higher repair bill)

If you scroll down to “Repair”, it mentions “Broken armor will offer no benefit to its wearer”.

So you can run around with damaged armor until u replace it if leveling, or just repair it ONCE it breaks.

If you want abilitys or certain words of importance, maybe just BOLD them, but I too don think they are that important.

Thats interesting the underwater turrets have same bug as underwater elixirs – shockwave.

WvW is only 1 piece of the pie. You also have people in sPVP tournements , players running around the world doing PvE activities, and players doing RP. Since Tarnished Coast has become the “Unofficial RP Server”, that makes every RP player flock to it which explains why the server is always full.

The “BandWagonPlayers” of WvW that intentionally hop servers just to be on the winning side are being brought up because those are more likely to leave TC then other players who dont care for WvW.

Best advice we can give you is pick another server for now, and keep up with your friends on how TC is doing in WvW, that will give you a decent “Gauge” of when the server will become available, during late hours &/or middle of the week, not weekend. (More then likely, when TC starts losing WvW is your best chance. Its how I got in.)

I am at central time and I make completing my daily the 1st thing I do. Considering it resets almost right after I get home from work, I make it a point to complete it immediatly on reset so I’m not in a rush the next day. Nearly any zone can complete it (less likely in Orr zones), but I prefer any of the 1-15 zones since there are more kill varietys there. If you have trouble with events, post in Map Chat and you might get some people mentioning an event near a waypoint you can take.

As for what I think of the timer reset, I don’t have an issue with it currently.

Downscaling seems to be alright in the 15+. However in the 1-15 starter zones, I feel it doesnt scale down enough. For when I want to knock out my daily, I will run through a starter zone to get that knocked out since its much easier. SO in that aspec it is great. The only thing I have had to change up is when in an event, to only use auto-attacks if any at all since I hit so hard. I am asking other 80’s to please just get a couple of taps in for an event & move on, or stay & make sure it follows through for the lowbies that are there – Don’t make it harder for lowbies to get great exp.

I believe u can still transmute 1 factions gear to a white, low level item, put that item in your bank, switch characters & then transmute that white item to the gear you want.

The new transmuted white item from the 1st transmute will say “Soulbound” but it actually acts like its “Account Bound”.

This is all based from previous posts I have seen on the forums on this subject of “Wanting a different faction item then yours”

I have not done this myself since I havent lvl’d an alt high enough to do it myself.

To get the most out of the daily, do it on your highest level character. You will get more coin since it scales according to the character’s level you complete it on.
Guarenteed rewards are always a Mystic Coin, Jug of Karma, and coin. There are chances to get Gem Store items also.

Oiled Pack – A bag that holds only grey/junk items seems pointless since when u sell to vendor, u hit “Sell all greys”
Craftman’s Bag – A bag that holds all crafting mats seems “meh” considering I always hit “Deposit Collectable” or I just sell on TP.
Equipment Box – A bag that holds only gear could be useful, but the only gear that would matter is my other gear for Farming/Dungeons/WvW/Etc. But that can be taken care of with a Invisible bag/Safe Box

I dont think any profession can make Divinty Runes, otherwise the market would be flooded with them since they are nice.

If you only want the look, I would just by the cheaper (Blue gear) from the hearts, instead of the masterwork (Green) so you dont spend too much karma.

I see a mention of a specific ability going on cooldown for land once its used underwater. However, its ANY ability used in any slot underwater with a cooldown that puts that slot on a cooldown on land. I use elixirs underwater with grenade kit so I always have CD’s when I come out on land abilitys, constantly putting land kits on 20-45 second CD’s. (CD is determined by the elixir used underwater)

Mainly found in 15-40 lvl zones.

I do my daily in Queensdale everyday on my engineer. I’ll get maybe 3-4 in MF gear, and 0-1 in regular gear. I do a good wide circle on the map until I complete the daily, then leave. If I wanted to really farm dyes, I would hop 1-15 zones doing same method.

I left WoW/Rift to get away from stat dependancy to make up for peoples lack of knowledge of their class. I was under the impression GW2 will bring to light the players that do know their class, & can preform even more adequately just from themselves alone.

If this patch is the 1st step to the “Gear-Treadmill”, it will only reduce the quality of the community as stats grow with time. People will rely on gear stat’s more then a person’s ability/know-how of their class. People will spam for players to link gear with “requirements” decided by the poor community at that time to run any dungeon. Letting their gear stat’s carry them through all content that is put out. I definatly do not feel this is a step in the right direction for Anet that had a much different philosiphy before this announced patch.

Having said all that, I will continue to play & see where this game leads. I love where the game is currently, playing for fun. Please dont start making me play “Catch-up” to current content.

Holding right click will turn your camera & character as well.
Adjusting your mouse sensitivity up also will reduce the time it takes to turn too, plus you move your hand much less across your mouse-pad.
(I bumped up my sensitivity for Mad King’s Clock Tower since majority of the time you made rights)

I play as an explosive engineer (grenades/bombs). Majority of the time Im range, and I noticed he does throw rocks at range, and also does a ground traveling knockdown (Like warriors off-hand mace Tremor). The giant will use the fear/weaken and stomp though if I run in with bombs if I am his target.
People still have a hard time dodging the stomp though I have noticed while throwing my grenades… oh well

I have gotten that red circle too at random times while fighting mobs, also other party members have gotten that circle that I can see on them.
That’s the 1st time I have seen that circle on a mob.
I would like to know what that means as well.

I would check daily, mornings & nights (looks like you are), especially during the middle of the week. Also keeping track of how Jade Quarry does in WvW can give you a hint of when people leave just because of 1 time lows if they are losing.
Thats what I had to do to get a friend of mine on Tarnished Coast the 1 time it finally opened up (after losing in WvW). Just keep at it & it will eventually open up, just be patient.
In the mean time, he can level up a toon on another server & check the server sizes too – 2 heads are better then 1. You can still mail him stuff too even from another server.

I have manged to make a Vent server and we tried that. What I got from most of my friends is “Meh, it does what it’s supposed to.”

I’m setting up later tonight/tomorrow for Mumble to give it a try, and see how that goes.

I’ll be looking to give Teamspeak, Raidcall, and C3 a try as well after about a weeks worth of testing for each.

The other day (13-14th?) I went on a heart search for all the cooking mats sold in bulk. I did manage to find peachs, which are sold by this Grawl – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nrocroc_Chief – for 154 karma, as pointed out by CHOAM above.

As an Engineer myself, I stick to grenades underwater. I’ll use the speargun/harpoon gun for net and thats about it. With grenades I’ll just use Elixirs like Elixir U to throw grenades faster.

For my engineer, my gear stats are power/condition dmg/vitality (Carrion), but I plan on getting toughness through runes/gems. If I want more toughness then ill get power/vit/toughness gear (Soldier) and rune/gem condition dmg.
Maybe runes/gems will give you the extra stats your looking for?

Upgrades & Influence are tied to the server it was made on. You can transfer over but you will be starting over.
