JQ flipped all the maps but didnt hold onto them into NA, I went to sleep that night 260vs260 ppt woke up to 350 ppt, our EU had done a great job in holding and upgrading keeps/tower.

Reason BG has been so successful and survived is our coordination between guilds who are used to working together and the new turnover, we used to have a big gap between NA and Oceanic where JQ would capitalise and take all our stuff, now with MERC starting on the dot Oceanic timezone, eliminate your inefficiencies and win.

I for one am sick of the toxicity coming out of our opponents whenever we win / do well, maybe reflect on this as a server and think about it, maybe this was the reason WM, Meow, RiSE, KO, KOR chose BG over SoR and JQ.

Just wondering why you think our guilds got burnout? Our oceanic/sea guilds still show up everyday and offer good competitions to ATM and FOO. It’s not our fault that with SoR getting a proper EU guild we are not able to compete in that time zone anymore with overtime guilds…

This does not explain your problem during NA time zone, the T3 excuse is sad when you think back to the T2 SoR vs BG months.

lol, IRON was on all three servers when scouting, SoR at the time was 3rd place but nice try. As for the second part, do you honestly feel as if your sever needs more guilds? How many guilds are you guys up to now? JQ has received zero guilds for how long now and yet they are able to keep up with BG in ppt/score. Your server does not need any more guilds, what your server needs is organization and a strong leader which I doubt you have as BG seems to quickly devour any guild looking into moving servers. Then as quickly as those guilds arrive, they begin to dissolve. It’s quite an annoying trend to watch. BG has the potential to compete at all time slots with what they have, but there player base lacks motivation which is likely due to poor leadership.

You are misunderstanding me. We are not hired help. We are here because we want to be here. We are having a lot of fun here. We have been treated with nothing but respect!

Am I the only one missing it here, did someone on BG forget to tell BT what that server is about? BG was formed purely for T1 first place, most of the guilds around you every night were purchased labor. If you think about what I just said, you would realize why BG has such a hard time keeping its players in WvW. BG is a mercenary server, been that way since they first arrived in T1 and then forcefully removed from that T1 spot so long ago. Only “Original” guild left is KnT, and potentially Icoa, that does not mean they don’t have players that have remained since inception, but the guilds around you are for the most part, “payed labor”.

Watching is different from participation, you should know that preparing a gvg requires time and effort to get to form your team. Need everyone to be traited properly and geared properly. Thats where all the theory crafting comes in, some people love to experiment build synergies but this will take a lot of time to test.

For [TW] at least, we kinda just show up for the GvG’s with what we have online and skip all the technical schizzle bizzle. But that is how Indo developed TW to be.

I’m not knocking those guilds because I think they are great at what they do, but to expect a zerg guild to go and do GvG is absurd. Their guilds weren’t built for that. But I bet if you both started at the same time in a BL and said who could get garri first, and you had the WvW guild v the GvG guild, guarantee you the WvW guild will take the garri before the GvG guild.

Ah this post reminded me of the Full BL vs Full BL between TW/Fear vs Foo during oceanic/sea a month or so ago that everyone raged about not being a GvG. lol Indo and Waha bet 5 gold for the first guild to take BG’s Garrison, SoR won btw

Good for you BT, GvG is kitten measuring plain and simple. It is the fall back “come at me bro” of WvW, and hilarious when you think about the implications. First off, and I’m sure you can relate, TSYM has chewed up zergs 3, 4, even 5 times our size before because they are uncoordinated or we were better trained. We have also outnumbered an enemy and through skilled manipulation of the terrain, a well placed piece of siege, or a 3+ stage feign/portal flank were sent packing.

The point is this, if you need that balance to make sure that your kitten remains unchallenged, WvW is not your stage. Being in situations where you are outnumbered drastically, or taking a massive force against another massive force, practicing the 5 Ds of Dodgeball until one of you makes the winning play and claim victory (and bags) is what WvW is all about!

What I think you are looking for, is sPvP/tPvP. Don’t come in here and bawl when its not balanced, or your team isn’t big enough. If you had 10 amazingly skilled people, and I rolled you over with 50, who is at fault? Me for killing you, or you for parking that little SmartCar of a force in my way? Honestly, its not OUR fault that sPvP isn’t more popular. Turns out people want to play with a more dynamic battlefield, and enjoy larger, more epic, and less structured fights.

Nothing gets a team on cloud nine faster than taking a massive force out with a bare bones small op team. Try it, if they beat you, try it again! Its intensely hard, but so rewarding when you accomplish it!

Oh yea, and BT welcome to T1. Here, when asked how many you had with you, the answer is always around 10-15.

WvW is all meta game, your not going to wipe a force with a sizable difference in numbers unless you somehow come out with a new meta that no one knows what is going on to counter it or you have a bunch of siege sitting behind u. I think those days are long gone until Anet decides to change the balance again.

You say GvG is a ‘kittening measuring plain’ but in reality it is not.. If you think wiping a button mashing zerg with rarely ever any individual player skill on never even playing grounds makes your guild good; your in for a rude awakening. I think GW2 is designed as an MMO targeting a more casual crowd – not unlike WoW, but you should not be so quick to insult the skilled players that seek that level of play within the game.

I think we will see a big difference in the separation of skilled groups and zergs with the up and coming fixes of skill lag and balance in general, much like many games in the past some still live by the philosophy SKILL > ZERG. But there is only so much you can do in a young game when the odds are stacked against you in terms of mechanics, balance and lag.

Do not take this as a kittening whining post about all the things above, instead a perspective from a guild that was founded on skill for the fields of GvG.

Also don’t get me wrong – I’ve been there leading massive zergs wiping and getting wiped by other massive zergs as one of the leaders/founders of [ICoa]. That play style gets boring fast and has already burnt out a lot of the best commanders that have ever played this game. I suggest you seek something to better challenge your personal skill and commanding skill.

Good post Joker, GvG’s are a great way to prove your guild on the field. Any guild can Zergblob with 1 ability firing, a simple 15v15/20v20/25v25 can turn into quite a test for even the best Zergblob commanders. I only wish more guilds would try it, but I fear there are too many guilds out there unwilling to lose or put there guild to a test. For the most part all the GvG’s are respectful and usually bring quite a respected crowd to watch. I’d love to set up some sort of a tournament as a united 3 server community, as we are all destined to be together forever.

Dang its rough at EU time. Keep up the good fights though! However with the 50 people screens, Im sure everyone has been in those zergs before.

T1 = Zergblob for all three servers, the faster our servers figure that out the better. I personally enjoy fighting these large scale battles, no one in history has ever asked if the opposing force could even the numbers so that the fight could be honorable. We all need to accept that it’s the way of life in T1, and adjust accordingly. No one server blobs more then the other, all three of us are guilty.

We don’t field 30 people for every guild or have militia to get that many on each map. And yes JQ has been in T1 the longest, but we do it with everything we have.

BG = Eat a wave of guilds, win 1 week, get stomped following weeks, wait for another wave of guilds to eat, etc etc. Rinse and repeat. The only reason blackgate’s server status is “full” is because of their stacked wvw population they’ve devoured. No idea why anyone would want to transfer there. JQ would be a better choice for guilds to go to, at least then you have a server who wants to fight.

JQ woulda been a much much better decision for BT to transfer too. I’m guessing The Blackhole forgot to mention the attrition rate they have over there. I personally am hoping they can bring a fight back to BG, but I’m really not all that confident after seeing so many guilds transfer there to die.

Nope sorry Leto. I know we’re both old and getting senile, but it was indeed Bay. Interestingly enough, that event and the ugliness that followed may have created one of the finer server rivalries in the game. I know it goes much deeper then that, but it may have been the catalyst.

lol was def. the catalyst, I remember it quite well. It was either our first or 2nd match up against each other and it was all respect and love before “The Event”. After the posting it became serious business, and it stirred the hornets nest on SoR which in turn got BG all roused up. One thing lead to another and now we are arch nemesis/lovers of one another.

Be careful what you wish for. Hopefully SoR doesn’t start crying when the tables turn. While I agree that you guys are fighting hard now and BG and JQ have more or less thrown in the towel for various reasons, it isn’t always going to be like that. Hope this bravado will still be there when you guys are facing equal numbers because I do believe SoR still is probably the server to beat during NA prime.

To be honest, I hope the tables do turn. T1 needs to be a match up that all 3 servers are within 20k of one another. A server losing is much more fun then a server winning, don’t get me wrong as I enjoy the much needed win we have earned over here, but if its gonna cost SoR good fights then I’m all for JQ/BG getting guilds to counter our EU/NA.

I doubt it. From an outsider’s perspective, IRON seems like stand up guys that aren’t out here for ego stroking. They came to NA looking for a different experience and to help move a top tier server into the #1 spot. They scouted all three T1 servers and made their decision based on where it seemed like they were needed the most. The thing is, I don’t think they expected it to happen in the very first week. Now they’re looking around scratching their heads with their primary goal already accomplished, and they’re not finding the fun encounters they were hoping for. Hopefully that changes sometime soon.

If anything, this proves how precarious WvW server balance is in this game. I think morale, driven primarily by a player’s perception of their server’s ability to win, has a larger impact on WvW participation than many people realize.

There is a lot of whispers of the EU servers doing a bit of shuffling. I’m betting IRON will get some good competition here in the next few weeks. Once they arrive I’m hoping both BG/JQ’s NA can start showing up on a regular basis again, gets boring doing all this PvDoor during NA.

The NA coverage has always been Good… above average to good, but right now their NA is just crazy I swear every maps got 50-80 everywhere you look. Not hating mad props lookin good in na lately. I hate that all of jq NA guild gave up and jumped over to dragonbrand because sea time still goes strong if only we had some na again. I had a 2 minute queue on bgbl last night for the first time in who knows how long. Not counting reset night though

What you are facing is the normal NA guilds that we have always had, I’m really not sure why you guys are throwing in the towel. About an hour or so ago JQ had 4 keeps now they have 1, taking a waypointed bay on BGBL received zero resistance from JQ. You guys are either too fickle to fight, or desperately need to readjust your strategies. All this pvdoor you are making us do is kinda embarrassing as you both are NA servers, giving up during the NA timeslot.

So, forum warriors, what if I told you all of the reasons that you love SoR are the same reasons that I love Blackgate, the same reasons I have been there since launch, and the same reasons that I and my guild come out to fight every day? What if I told you that we take donations from guildies in order to help guilds who can’t get all their players over? What if I told you that yes, we absolutely play more hours to offset our coverage because we care about handing off good maps and helping out our other time zones? What if I told you that this is a game and the character assassination of Blackgate is pretty old hat?

Come on guys, grow up a little. The week might be lost, it might not. You can hate Blackgate all you want, but at the end of the day we are just as resilient as you. We’ve been to Tier 4 and battled back. Guilds have moved here for our community and helped us rise through the ranks. How is that any different from your server? I understand the notion of trash talking opponents, but flat out wishing the death of the only servers that give you competition is pretty lame. Maybe we should make a god tier where you can run around in your maps all by yourself while JQ, BG, and DB enjoy a friendly, competitive match since you are so out of our league?

Let’s cut the crap here. There have been good fights, but the persistent chest thumping is pretty disgusting. Go ahead and try and hold me responsible for chest thumping. Go through my post history. You will find none. Maybe you could all follow my example and say, “good game, good fights, /salute” instead of posting about wanting to get +600 and having no comprehension of how unhealthy that really is for the game.

I agree with this post, all 3 of our servers have been through the thick of it and come out all the better. As for all the chest thumping, you really have not seen it from the major guilds on SoR as it is mainly our rallians excited about a win. JQ has done the same to us when we first arrived in t1, they posted there own page about how amazing they were from capping all bl’s and I know some of your pugs have also boosted about a win. Everyone over on SoR knows that next week after our IRON high has worn off that BG and JQ will be back at it again, and as always SoR will be ready and waiting for the fights from the best. Good fights this week SF/RK/KnT/Rise and whoever else I missed.

JQ has a bad habit of just abandoning the BL after a few wipes.

Well, tonight we had a fun time session before coming in. We probably had about 15 people total on and went looking for the least JQ populated map and that was SoR. All 15 of us zoned in and went looking for TW fights but all we found were 15 TW bags. We saw them drop siege at one point, so since we had the camp we dropped 15 pieces of siege, one for each SF member but TW’s 15 wouldn’t push so SF’s 15 had try and take the tower. After about 15 wipes of TW around the tower our trebs finally got the wall down and those same 15 TW were in there and our 15 were once again victorious and each of us had 15 TW bags to play pacman on. Then we went up to hills to scout it and there were another 15 TW manning siege and since the SF 15 were only looking for open field fights with TW’s 15 we only stayed long enough at that and each following location long enough to realize that TW doesn’t seem to like open field fights, even when they have all 15 of them online. In the end, SF’s 15 went away with full bags and lulz.
