I’m real glad I’m playing on EU server.
Or it could be just my server that there aren’t as many legendaries owners as some describe.
American gamers are somewhat more hardcore than Euro, so I expect in their servers that some of them got 5 or 6 legendaires and another dozen walking around at any given time in LA.
Thanks evo! I am gonna start the trading engine up I guess. Maybe I can make it by the end of the year!
Before you get your “trading engines” started…
Keep in mind that most big power traders have given up on the game already, they play a different game than us, and for them getting a legendary is simply a matter of status and make the average joe drool in envy.
Unless you truly dedicate yourself to it, you won’t see as much profit as they do.
While knowing that nowdays I make just as much gold as a power trader per day, as one of the posters suggested here – they lack the drive to play the game itself, regardless if it feels there’s anything left to play for.
I couldn’t find the topic, but there was a guy who was bored enough and made an “event”, something about dancing for 100g prize.
Another example is the legendaries on TP, these certain traders don’t even bother playing the game, rather they’d toy with everyone else and enjoy topics such as
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Legendary-Twilight-9500g-on-TP/page/2#post1045008
Or you can really just go to the BLTC Forum, Anet succeeded planting the seed to make everyone go crazy over the legendaries again without creating any new skins or improving (and there’s a quite a few to improve) the current ones.
I went off-topic a bit, but you get the idea.
Once you become a power trader (big profits, not just messing around) you stop caring why you even started making all that gold.
I made my 3rd Legendary on Christmas Eve just in time
I’m gonna set my goal for my 4th Legendary sometime 2nd week of March 2013 <3
gz! shame i ran out of legendary weapons to craft…
Both of you seemed to be of the 1st generation legendaries owners (week+ past release)
I missed the big wealth train, so I’ll settle for two legendaries (got Sunrise, working on Jugger).Getting one in a short time requires a lot of effort and sacrifice of free time.
The other way to get one would to be a serious power trader if you get one every 2nd week or so… I’m the 1st option.I don’t think I can suck up any more punishment tbh, so 2 legends are enough for me… for now.
This is my legendary owners ladder:
1. 0 legendaries – Keep enjoying the scenery, oh, you got 30k acehivement points? cool story, you’re still a beggar.
2. 1 legendary – Lucky opportunist of past exploits / low end market shift or dedicated player, hard to tell, would go with first options.
3. 2 legendaries – The 2nd one definitely required more effort than the 1st after the big market shift, kudos.
4. 3 legendaries or more – Big shot power trader, early days fast gold opportunist or both.I’m personally, slightly jealous of #4, but will settle for #3.
Pfft theres guy on black gate that has sunrise, foefires essense, the predator, and frost fang and is apperantly casually working on flameseeker, please identify him in all your glory.
Riaky.8965 .
It’s Halloween all over again. I have nearly 10 of each of the other minipets and have yet to see a single mini Snowman. Bought 10$ more of gems for some more boxes again tonight and this time it was just a ton of tonics and presents (a.k.a sweaters socks and hats).
Meanwhile, my friend has ~20 of each pet and can’t send me a single snowman because they’re account bound. I’m not spending another cent on gems because I know I won’t get it if after 50$ I haven’t already gotten it.
Is there any plan to make these pets from the boxes tradable? Because this is a bit obnoxious.
The only problem with GW2 is people like you.
I’m glad you have learned your lesson but you’ve done so much damage to the game now that Anet will probably just continue with this farcical excuse for content for the foreseeable future.
What happens when the next “holiday” content is released and they have a new mini that you just HAVE to have. Will you say to yourself ’I’ll just spend 20$ on keys" ?Think of the amount of genuine content they could have released instead of putting all the dev time into new minis and costumes. More development time could of been spent on squashing bugs, fixing broken content and balancing classes.
But NOOOO, because the sheeple in the world and the Pokemon kittenen mentatlity, the genuine gamers, the people who actually want to game, and help develop the communities of the game… we have to suffer.
If I had one wish this Christmas (and if that fat, pagan, red dressed effigy of corporate greed actually existed), it would be for the GW2 community to STOP BUYING KEYS kittenCheers
People like me? Cool bro, 7+ years of GW1 and played GW2 since the closed betas before pre-order beta invites were even conceived. I’m not crying about the game, I’m saying that RNG + Account-bound only is not a good way to go.
But thanks for your input, I guess? Even if it is worthless. I’m not a “pokemon sheeple”. I am a completionist. I strive to get achievements, pets, weapons, etc. Being a completionist has nothing to do with Pokemon you tool.
I also didn’t buy a single key. Good job reading my thread. I am bringing up an issue with the account-bound, random nature of the mini-pets available from the 10 / 10$ Christmas Gifts.
That’s quite funny what you say there, you call yourself completionist, yet I haven’t seen any of the account bound minis count towards the mini achievement.
So if anything, it is your own little personal goal that no one will ever know about your great collection feat.
It cheapens the accomplishment of crafting a legendary if someone with a lot of disposable real-life money can just buy gems, convert them, and buy the Legendary. Why would I want to spend all that time and effort to craft a Legendary?
From the day the first one appeared on the TP, I stopped wanting a Legendary. I won’t make one now, because anyone can just buy one with real money. Lame.
The only difference is the gift of mastery, before that anyone with enough real life cash could convert all the gems into gold and simply work on that one very simple to achieve gift.
So nothing here really changed, and if anything, that idiot who does buy a legendary off the TP buys it for ALOT more than its actual worth.
So you’d really pass on your own legendary because someone skipped 1/4th of the req.?

Can’t wait to finish Juggernaut.
Already owns Sunrise so I do wonder if both effects of Sunrise glow and Jugger’s chromatic look will mix together. (the shine stays after you swing Sunrise around and switching weapons)
Epic :o
EDIT:
I agree that aside the GS, hammer and the staff…. even bolt and the shield along with the rest of the legendaries are quite underwhelming.
For same reason that most players won’t equip an asura with any legendary simply because you can hardly notice it.
(edited by Horheristo.3607)
Oh, this thread again?
It’s like no one bothers to read the forums anymore.
Look at it this way… only the real dedicated people, regardless of what method they used to get their legendary (aside the 1st generation gold/precursor exploits) are players who truly care about the game and literally gave their soul to achieve such a feat.
Are you prepared to throw your whole personal life away until you’re done?
Are you dedicated enough to routinely farm gold every day until you reach your goal?
Only players who pushed themselves to the limit and willingly went down the road of legendary should get it.
Everyone else do NOT deserve it, you can keep playing the game and try, quit with frustration or do whatever you want, no one cares.
You say you don’t want it to become easier, so what is with your other suggestions?
Karma? more quests? how much karma or how many quests do you think can be done to get a legendary?
There’s no such thing as a quest too hard, and let’s not forget the hackers that can simply skip all content and finish any quests as hard as it is in matter of seconds or minutes if there’s a bulky boss at the end.
So you want thousands of cheaters to walk around with legendaries instead?
The only way to keep it under check and as a real prestige weapon is through gold.
Which by itself shows how competent the player is.
It’s only a matter of time before Legendaries get better stats than other weapons. It will happen with the first paid expansion when the item level of all gear will rise along with maximum character level (confirmed by devs).
They said legendaries would automatically upgrade to the next tier – ascended – and adding a new tier is supposed to be a one time thing, if everything goes smoothly. They never said anything about legendaries scaling in level.
Sure they could end up scaling, but probably not. They’re way too cheap for a permanently “the best” item and they’ll only get easier to make in expansions, assuming the current material trend is kept.
Did you just call an 800g – 1kg+ weapon “way too cheap”?
Besides flaming…
Anything that can potentially make the company look bad or even a mention of kittenet (intended) will result in infraction.
From now on, I suggest to say kittenet rather than the company’s name itself to avoid infraction.
P.S
This post might get infracted. (hmm I should turn that to my signature)
Why was this topic moved here? who am I helping with this info?
Ah I get it, “Player Helping Players” forum is like the recycle bin of the forums.
I guess this is one way they won’t remove a topic but instead put it a in a place no one will bother to look.
Sad, losing my faith even more.
Just when I thought an effort was made here…
It was in fact, a reskin of the lightning bug found in Metrica province
Caught me by surprise today:
@ Kacigarka.5176
You go girl.
So what is the problem again with legendaries being sold? I don’t get it either.
The only problem here (besides the outrageous prices) is the gift of mastery – that’s it.
This topic is full of rage, yet you forget we live in a capitalistic world.
Get over it.
Super hardcore players probably already have theirs OR are close to getting it done…then what ?
The game is pretty much over for them. Until new content gets released and then they’ll log off again.
But for the 95% of other players who are between casual and hardcore, this will take much longer AND it was intended for us, so ignore the “crazy hardcores” who dedicated hundreds of hours to their legendary. Getting the coolest weapon in the game through sleep deprivation and/or old exploits isn’t rewarding.
“Crazy hardcore” person here, guess what I did after I got my legendary?
.
.
.
Started the next one.
Guess what I’ll do afterwards?
What if this is still beta, and the real polished game comes out next year?
10,000 plants :ooooo
You could make 3 legendaries by the time you got em all.
Sickening, and there isn’t even a real reason to manipulate it.
I for one need 250, and will lay low until the person who imitates a woman’s genital will break down and dump em all back.
Why did you even do it? Selfish man’s member
I seriously doubt there’ll be as many people as you think that will keep putting up offers for 1.5g+ per legendary
Besides Sunrise all other offers don’t even cover 2/3rds of the legendaries offered for.
Nice, would’ve had just as much or more if they didn’t deduct my points at one of the patches.
Still unattended, so all I care about atm is just finishing up all the tiers instead of maximizing the total amount of points.
So what is wrong with Guardian again?
Highly overlooked it seems.“They’re not warriors” is basiclly it. A warrior specced towards tankyness/survivability is pretty much an immovable object too, with the upshot that conditions bother them less and they do a lot more damage.
I still think guardian is more fun to play, just warrior is easier, more powerful and pretty much just as survivable
I’ll agree with everything you said besides the survivable part, since you clearly haven’t played Guardian yet, or actually played it to the point of being able to recover from near death situation 3 times in a row without sacrificing your dps in the same build.
Warriors are made to dps, period.
But they are leaps and bounds away from Guardian’s survivability.
Lol Ryuujin, you’re like those people that got the answer for everything. (kind of like my wife)
Shame Guardians can’t wield one, such a cool legendary.
I support what Tremain said.
But keep in mind that you need around 700g ~ 1kg+ depending on the legendary you go for.
That’s 140hours invested just for 700g considering every solid hour earns you 5g.
Not to mention the waiting time inbetween and doing other stuff needed for the legendary and other ingame things in general (you won’t be farming day and night will you?), you’re looking here at over 200+ hours.
Just make sure you’re prepared for it and not sacrificing time you could enjoy doing something else, this quest will involve some nerves of steel.
OP’ll suck to varying degrees no matter what class they pick, question is what combo can they learn the fastest?
I’d say the complex and deep playstyle of the warrior will suit him.
With the current prices to make most legendaries, if I can’t make a considerable amount of gold every day…. I’d probably quit the idea.
Hoping to finish the juggernaut by the end of this week. (Got Sunrise, will make a sweet combo together)
no dungeons worth playing after you’ve done them since first week the game came out… .
Halfway to 2nd legendary and still missing a couple of paths since release.
Now you clearly understand the difference between us, moderation and enjoying everything with taste.
I’d like to ask you what do you consider as “fun”?
Not defending this game, but curious.
So what is wrong with Guardian again?
Highly overlooked it seems.
And I thought grenades Engi’s got nerfed to the ground, and they get second and third votes? Pshh..
Oh god, please don’t….
Can only imagine the headache I’ll get as soon as I turn on the volume ingame at LA.
Leave it as is, keep the prestige only left to number of players who can afford it and eventually get tired of using it.
If you’re really in love with it, you’ll find a way to save the gold for it.
By the way, lots of players actually DO care if you own a legendary or not.
Here’s a few funny moments:
- Praise and awe by 14 years old kids.
- People taking off their weapon and putting their back next to mine to imagine how it will look on them.
- /bow.
- Negative assumptions about my personal life or in-game play style.
- Players following me rather than the commander on field in WvWvW.
I’m pretty sure other legendary owners and especially the shiny ones (e.g Sunrise / Twilight) experienced the same.
@ Nayru
- PvP (both WvW and structured)
- Seasonal events.
- Achievements (all of the non-gold / grind achievement in this game are actually fun to do)I’m positive other people find other parts of the game more enjoyable for them.
If you can’t find anything, I do wonder what you’re still doing here.If that’s all the fun content then I fear for this game.
Interesting point.
Do tell me what did you find fun in other MMO’s?

I was wondering how my income increased so much
Good thing I went hardcore farming in the past few days.
Legendary became too common and most players who got their one will have that one only due to abusing past exploits and unable to actually farm the gold legitimately.
Forget about that, now the top 5% got 2 legendaries or more.
Which is my current goal after Sunrise.
Legendaries should be indeed account bound but it makes lots of sense business-wise why they aren’t.
That said, my ultimate goal is have my Guardian fully equip with all possible legendaries for his class.
The day the present a legendary armor is the day the already half-beaten economy crashes.
Me…mer….s ki…l.l li….ke t…..hi……..s
Don’t look so gloomy, you made a few silver out of it.
Look at the other side of the coin.
Only problem I see here is transmuting.
After getting Sunrise, I’m sitting with a useless Greatsaw, not able to transfer it to my warrior. or even sell the skin back on TP.transmute it to a white/blue item, this item will be account-bound. you can then transmute it again onto one of your warrior’s weapons.
:oooooo
Serious? you pay me 46g if you’re wrong!! I got your username! If you pay me 46g if I’m right
No habla ingles, sorry gut dai.

Why do I have a mesmer again?
4/10 , Hailstorm? for an elementalist? couldn’t guess
Also your family sounds like a group of bots I met once.
While under the same subject:
Character name: Harry the Botter, Elementalist.
Because Harry Botter was taken + pun on the mediocre job of Anet vs bots.
Big E Nada Smalls – 9/10
Rolls on the tongue, and the background story is funny
Can be replaced with “Oppan gangnam style” (try it)
Character name: No supper tonight,
Big black norn warrior, with multicolored pieces of armor, which he found in Hoelbrak’s backallies.
He wanted to be special like everyone else, and with what’s left of his money he bought black and white dyes, only to realize they’re 2 different shades of gray.
Now he is poor…. and hungry.
Gravelord Nito –
4, doesn’t have a catchy tune to it, easy to forget.
Uses the word “Gravelord”, as much as I support cheesiness, only if it was intentional, while adding “Nito” supposed to give it a deeper meaning, it does the opposite instead.
While not claiming mine is any better, as part of the game:
Charr name: Crazy Rabbi – Engineer with white coat, green rubber gloves and starter goggles.
(at work so can’t post a screen)

I was under the impression that 0 sigils worked before, if the ones I mentioned did,
Then my bad, and indeed this nerf is even worse than what I’ve imagined.
Rollerbeetle racing.
Just saying……..
Well we all learned a big lesson here.
Just wanted to add on the staff…
It has its uses…
- Can hit through walls.
- Large scale AoE.
- Extends swiftness (though bugged if previously had swift boon)
- Large self heal with allies around using Empower + Altruistic. (Serves as a very reliable 3rd heal)
I’d say it is a very situational weapon, would love to see some good changes myself.
But not completely useless.
