The sigil as matter of fact made engis even more useful in PARTIES, by adding a 3rd way of additional vulnerability.
Combined with +5% C.chance, engis can easily spam the condition and hit the 25 cap.

It does not justify the 30% nerf though, could’ve been 15 – 20%. 30% is a big reduction.

I hate market resellers/manipulators they jack up the prices of items and screw over the newbies.

That’s a falsehood for the most part.

I am majoring in economics. I do understand what is going in this thread.

You are right only in the short term. Which is to say that a few of the TP speculators might gain market power to the point they can drive prices sky high. And maybe on a few select items that have relative scarcity issues. Which Anet can fix my tinkering with drop rates.

But, and this is a big but, TP speculators do drive the price to an equilibrium in a much more rapid than normal buyers and sellers of gw2 goods. The reason being is that there is a LOT of speculators and with that much competition no one person can ever gain a significant foot hold on a lot of the goods in this game. So the price plummets when speculators find a good with a large profit margin, because all the competitors have to turn over their goods or wait for a long time for those goods to be used to ever achieve profits in the heavily traded markets.

Don’t report bots, they make more money than you, but they also risk getting banned at the same time rending all of it useless.
Buying gold from those that do sell it, is still cheaper than buying gems by the way.
Extreme power traders make more money than them, are considered legit and some do resort to gold selling as well without you knowing.

If you report bots, you only do it out of spite without rationally thinking about the consequences on the market that benefit you.

"Teleporting" Bots & How To Catch/Report

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Horheristo.3607

Horheristo.3607

Catching botting is Anet’s responsibility. Frankly, it should be easy for them to find the majority just by checking the logs. The pro botters will have heavy active usage and won’t follow a pattern which is typical of a normal player.

Any halfway decent database analyst would be able to shortlist the top 80% of the most likely botting accounts. There really shouldn’t be a need for players to do Anets work and in the process report legit players.

Exactly.

You can conclude whatever you want on me.
This whole reporting business is starting to grow out of proportion, I use tons of alts and many of them are parked at one node or another on either of the 4 maps.
It is not cool at all if someone sees me popping on top of a node and immediately thinks “hacker” while NATURALLY I’ll use a waypoint right away to start my next farming cycle.

Don’t you dare sell me that bs about people being able to tell the difference between logout and teleport because they won’t and they don’t.
Every little kittener here wants to be a sheriff, and there will be very little I can do against it besides telling you to find other creative ways to report hackers.

By now all the dawn/dusk market is totally fluctuating .

If right now I got 5000g and I see 10 dusks for 300g each, I buy them all and “drip” them each for 450g into the market.

Solid profit, everyone lose, I win.
That means any new dawn/dusk that will make it to the market will suffer from the same concept.

Just so you know, Aion which is a much more polished game of NCsoft is still dealing with exploiters who use the same upgraded cheats from build to build.

Get something straight – YOU CAN’T FIGHT IT.

If hacks in the past were all done in secret and shared between the top hackers, today their developers wised up and are selling them for money.
If Sony and apple can’t fight 100% jailbreak, do you honestly truly believe that anything can be done in our case?

It’s not just T6 mats they’re farming. The prices have tanked at nearly every tier. I see them teleporting all the time in low and mid level zones.

Spending some of my time gathering crafting resources and selling them on the BLT is a big way I make my money (although not the past few weeks thanks to botters). I don’t try to play the market like so many do. I just try to earn a little money in the game legitimately and the botters are ruining it.

Do people like cheaper prices? Sure. But this is the wrong way to get them. Anyone in favor of what’s happening.. I don’t know, you’re sounding like those players who are willing to exploit a bug and feel justified in doing it. From an ethics point of view, there’s not much difference between personally exploiting and happily benefiting from one.

WTB Charged lodestones bots.

Seriously, bots are the only balance we have vs the TP fluctuation going on.
On one hand, we got sheriffs going out of their ways to report every bot every day.
On the other hand, we get threads on top of threads complaining how everything in game became unobtainable.

I thought people were quite happy with 3s T6 mats?
Stick to one belief and stand firm behind the consequences of it, don’t be a bunch of kittening hypocrites.

I for one, would rather have everything cheaper and let the botters or whatever they are, keep doing their job. And reach my goals faster instead of farming more and more for some pixelated goal.

TWMagimay.9057 – I get your point, and it is a valid one, but I never understood people who want to farm a specific less valued item.
By the time you farm 250 silver doubloons in this case, how much money could you make instead to buy them off the TP by farming something else?

Or did I miss the point myself here?

You make around 150-200g by farming karma, etc …

Sorry I had to point this out…
150-200g? I farmed 1m karma and barely made 10g off it.
I hope that “etc” plays big part in the 150-200g story.

Farmed 150-200g myself (1m karma). That was when prices were low (rares/ectos 15-20s etc). Plinx has been nerfed apparently now tho. But still, if you barely made 10g then you are seriously doing something wrong, it’s literally not POSSIBLE. You make about 40-60g just from the event rewards iirc. Please stop and think for a second lol.
Also I did not use karma boosters because I needed gold more than I needed karma.

Ok I lied, I made 40g…………………………………………. so that’s 760g to go

I feel like quitting the game due to Ascended Gear

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Horheristo.3607

Horheristo.3607

Fun fact… they didn’t stick in a gear treadmill. They added a step between exotics and legendaries to fill the time gap in between and to open the door to tons of lateral progression.

Fun fact, they added a gear treadmill that broke pre-game statments like this (from their lead dev):

“We don’t need to make mandatory gear treadmills, we make all of it optional, so those who find it fun to chase this prestigious gear can do so, but those who don’t are just as powerful and get to have fun too.”

You now have to hop on to a gear treadmill (a treadmill which currently breaks another one of their pre-game promises that you can play the game how you want) if you wish to remain just as powerful, pre-release prestigious gear meant cosmetic, if they just wanted to fill a space between exotic and legendary then it would of been cosmetic, the stats on a legendary were the same as an exotic.

They didn’t fill a space, they created an end game gear treadmill, because of whining / failure of tPvP.

Do you feel that asceneded gear is mandatory?
Do you feel that someone who’s fully equipped with can destroy you in WvW?

Can’t imagine how you guys got the patience instead of actually playing the game.
Would just like to finish here, that I make plenty of gold myself, not even touching the TP, as matter of fact I even sell at times that by hanging to my wares I could make much more gold.
Only because my personal value for gold is very little due to how fast I make it.

I still, however, believe that this whole system is wrong.

Farming Gold vs Economy

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Horheristo.3607

Simple example: I got my 100 lodestones around 2 weeks ago for 120g, now it’s 300g, the very same mats that I sell to get my gold didn’t change in prices, yet another high end item did.

If by chance it was the work of a power trader, then do tell me how this didn’t affect the market?

You answered your own question. Highlighted for clarity.

What you’re looking at is market fluctuation, not inflation. Due to a reduction in supply/rise in demand/possible market manipulation the value of one particular group of items has doubled yet the other markets remained essentially the same.

My bad! and I apologize for my lack of understanding in marketing terms.

But this was my example from the start…
Power traders literally destroy certain item groups value and make it near impossible to many players to achieve their goals
This fluctuation is a clear result of artificial supply/demand due to manipulation by power traders.

Spirit Weapon, solo build. Doing it wrong?

in Guardian

Posted by: Horheristo.3607

Horheristo.3607

Bad link.
But Spirit weapon is a very solid build for sPvP or WvW roaming.
Weapons prove extremely useful when down or when you want to take a single player, or even when you’re fighting zerg vs zerg.
They deal passive damage, practically are unkillable minions and on 1 v 1 downed fights you’ll always have the upper hand.

The Hammer’s KD is OP!!! 3s that allows you to rip your enemy to shreads, on top of adding immobilize just before he stands up.

But honestly, try it in sPvP, and you don’t even need to run a tanky build, quite the opposite, since the weapons share the same stats as you do, and give you all the advantage to disable your opponent.

The problem with melee classes is there’s too many ranged classes. That’s it really. The two real melee classes are Guardian and Warrior. They get caught in the middle while the range lines move back and forth trying to damage the other line and kill the hapless melee in the middle without being killed themselves.

That’s why melee have such a low survival rate. They should have made more melee classes to fight the melee battle instead of plink plinking at a distance.

Can’t do WvW without WoR or Spirit Shield.
I do wonder how Warriors survive though the ranged spam while fleeing or inside a zerg.

Farming Gold vs Economy

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Horheristo.3607

I’ll only address the subject of players earning “more” gold through the rise of the items they farm.
This is all artificial and I hope you’re realizing that as well…
It doesn’t matter if one makes 5g a day by selling the same high end items he needs, and at the same time other items rise in prices even more due to the constant power trading that is going on with the very same items.
Right now he’s the proud owner of a stack (or two) of charged lodestones in this case, and slowly dripping them into the market earning double the profit.

Horheristo.3607

No no, it’s just power traders that are “speeding up the supply / demand process”.
We would’ve reached this inflation in 2014, but they sped it up, come on just a little tiny teensy bit.

Power traders are a gold sink

Power traders do not generate gold, they merely transfer it from A to B, buying low (From their pocket) and selling high (From other peoples pocket), with a 15% tax slapped on top, so 15% of the gold involved in the transaction vanishes into thin air

If you stopped all gold entering the system, you’d actually experience deflation as taxes slowly drains the gold in circulation. People love to blame the traders for all their woes, but traders arn’t the ones causing inflation.

Ok, I get the idea that you are one. No need to break it down to me my dear friend.

Your example makes no sense..
First you say “If you stopped all gold entering the system, you’d actually experience deflation as taxes slowly drains the gold in circulation” admitting that power traders contribute to the gold ciruculation.
And then you say “People love to blame the traders for all their woes, but traders arn’t the ones causing inflation”.
Which one is it?
Also, consider this – the rate of making gold right now DID NOT change compared to what it was before and after the inflation, which means…
Player A made 2g an hour before inflation.
A month later Player A still makes 2g an hour after inflation.

I do however have a loving wife that I get to spend my life with, and great paying job that only req. 4 days a week.
Couldn’t really ask for more, I guess it all comes down to how you live your life, and game wise – how efficiently you spend your time in the game to reach your goals.

P.S
If I wanted, I could get another legendary – any, within another month or less if I really wanted to in less than 200 hours. Atm one is more than enough for me.

Kudos to you. I am getting close to 700 myself and have just started not too long ago on my quest for bolt. It’s tough in terms of getting the mats and all but i’m quite determined to get it. Done anything specific which you consider effective during your quest to get it?

I run 16 characters in two different accounts, 10 of them are level 80.
I’m quite big into nodes farming, I set up most efficient routes and specific nodes to farm.

This is merely one tip I can give you, I normally don’t share but this is something that anyone can figure out, but most people won’t be arsed to do.

P.S
Another good tip, don’t bother with anything else ingame: dungeons, pvp (do Jumping puzzles in WvW instead), normal mobs farming will take too much of your time.
Only focus on making gold, I’d say you better figure out a way to make 6~10g an hour or the whole process will take very very long time for you.
