Nerf AoE

Oh man, never taken seriously.
Can we please stay on topic?

Also why do guardians hit foes around them multiple times with Whirling wrath? I thought they throw projectiles and each one should hit individually?

I did some WvW today, and a warrior spinned on me, he was only half a milisecond on top of me but fully hit me for 4k dmg, it should count as 1 hit per spin I think.

I’m giving you gold here Anet, don’t mess up next build.
Do the right thing.

Finally the change I’ve been waiting for.
Thank you Anet, great decision!

Too many eles running around spamming AoE everywhere, feels like the game became too shallow.
Engi’s grenades are still overpowered, I think another 10% reduction is in place.

Also if possible, please shrink the necro curse symbols, about the size of thief’s infiltrator’s arrow.

The current situation is ridiculous, Iooking forward to the changes.

Have you ever watched some of those sick thief vids?

Engi is still viable but requires more skill to use properly.
I agree that Ranger and Necro are just completely no viable for any real use that other classes can’t perform better.

Yeah I was thinking more of from a pve point of view…Thieves are good in pvp but no one really wants them in a dungeon group for example..and people actively KICK rangers..which is just really sad imo

Not true either, since Shadow refuge combined with swiftness, helps quite a bit in skipping content safely, that wouldn’t be possible for the party otherwise.

When I farmed my gift for Quip, I was lucky enough to party with a thief every time in CM, skipping quite a bit with Refuge, which made the runs faster.
We did the same to rez party members in tight spots.

I do think it’s their only redeeming value in a dungeon though…

Getting a Legendary in this game is the equivelent to digging the foundation of a football stadium with a spoon.

It’s long and boring.

You want Legendary?

How about completeing 10 insanely hard jumping puzzles in less than 30 minutes? How about having to solo a champion mob that one shots your face if you don’t dodge out of the way?
How about a world event dragon boss that’s actually hard to kill and requires massive teamwork and cooperation?
How about going on a treasure hunt in a 5 man dungeon chasing a mob with a big loot bag through a gauntlet of tough enemies and clever traps?

So you want Super mario wars 2.

Don’t call us, we’ll call you.

make 8 alts. 8 * 30s = 2 gold and 40s for you.

EDIT: i forgot that you can delete them lol

13g per slot.
That’s some long term investment, even just for 2 extra slots considering this might get fixed soon.

I got 16 characters, I don’t even bother doing this, simply tedious work for beggars who can’t figure out how to make real gold.

Sounds like an exploit.

All that effort for measily 30s + – which can be earned in a few minutes.
Hope you enjoy that “exploit” lol.

So many ways to make good money in this game, and you fellas worry about a few extra silver. Well maybe this thread will help to push the ori prices back up with a fix, so I guess it does serve some purpose.

I agree with how Legendaries work in GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Horheristo.3607

Horheristo.3607

The issue is this.

It doesn’t matter how hard you work towards your legendary. RNG has a bigger chance of making all of that work meaningless than it does of doing anything else.

After yet another 32 failures out of 38 attempts (in addition to my 19 10-set and other 9 1-set failures), leaving me with 9 clovers out of a possible 237, I am giving up on any legendary due to the sheer ruthlessness of the RNG. Small amounts of T6 mats do nothing to make up for the ceaseless grind for skill points.

I’ll try again if legendaries are ever even a LITTLE less RNG-dependent. This is the first (and hopefully only) time I’ll ever have this big of a problem with anything in a game.

That’s because you did 10 sets, which invites bigger failure at high risk.

With 2 legendaries at hand, on both I got all the 77 clovers in just less than 250 attempts. All in single clover attempts rather than 10, standing at the 33% odds as originally stated by Anet.
Face the consequences if you decide to take a bigger risk.

As for skill points, simply do all the skill challenges on your alts for the philosopher’s stones, and by now your main should have at least 200sp for the bloodstone.
You get 5 slots as minimum to work with, can’t go wrong there.

This game is superior in content compared to other MMO’s out there.
Problem is that most gamers don’t give a kitten about it these days, me included.

While I do appreciate all the effort put into actually creating a world to immerse with.. it is not what most gamers are looking for, and frankly am quite disappointed with Anet working even further on polishing the stories on next patch, rather than the actual game mechanics.

There is nothing wrong with current legendaries.
And there is no way to make a skill based way to achieve one besides gold farming.

Doubts about the design of Legendary Weapons

Horheristo.3607

Look at the Mace.

The Mace!

It’s a friggin’ disco ball!

Nothing wrong with that, if it lit up and rotated maybe.

It is plenty wrong. Why should players that want to use maces be punished by a “joke” weapon while players who want to use greatswords get this really awesome, or dare I say, legendary-looking weapon?

The disco ball skin belongs in the Gem Store for teh lulz, not on a Legendary.

Same thing with the pistol – it’s hard to look legendary when you’re wielding a clown gun. Unless you’re a maniac clown named The Joker.

Working on it as we speak
One of the best ones out there!!!!!!!! (Already owns Sunrise and The Juggernaut, time for a change)

Also since pistols are small and hardly visible on any race regardless of size, it will be a perfect fit for my Asura thanks to the wicked effects of the gun.

Reporting Teleport Hack

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Horheristo.3607

How are you guys reporting people who are using the teleport hack? I never was able to click on them long enough to report them, but out of curiosity I setup camp close to a node out of the way and turned on my recorder and sure enough within 5 to 10 minutes of watching my playback, I had my first teleport in, gather the node and poof gone again.

Funny thing, I did the same thing on a Vista and had a few teleport in and out there as well.

Also, there’s no guarantee that the node people are a hack either – I know some people that will park alts next to resource nodes, and then log in every so often to mine them, then log out of that character again.

This.
Got reported myself a few times as I farm on 16 alts.
I’m not worried about getting banned as I don’t cheat, but doesn’t make it less comfortable.

So don’t be so sure everyone are hackers, if you happened to catch their name after clicking the report button (short, doesn’t make much sense or simply highly increative) , along with crap armor, then there’s a good chance they hack.

Full refund for snowflake exploiters?

Honestly there is no reason to farm. Whats the point of playing a game if you’re being miserable for 200 hours to be happy for 1 hour that you got a legendary or w.e enjoy the game rather than the items this coming from a dude who LOVES loot.

Was giving an example to a possible situation.

I got a solid gold making routine (whenever I’m into it) so I’m not really worried as I’m already done with all the mats req. for my 3rd legendary besides the 500 shards.
But being worried of what is exploit and what isn’t?
kitten that, I’ll do my own thing and enjoy the game the way I see fit.

Full refund for snowflake exploiters?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Horheristo.3607

What I don’t get, or maybe what I am not really clear on, was the fact that with no warning, no obvious signs, they come into the game, and ban a bunch of people.

There was no quick patch, there was no warning from forums. People, whether they thought it wrong or not, just want to make some gold. And then A.Net gives them the ban hammer? That’s obviously poor management in my opinion, seeing as people were following a recipe in game, they weren’t dupping the snowflakes or the gold they were getting. It was legit, even if it wasn’t ‘intended’.

That’s like saying using LoS to avoid fear from dragons is/was an exploit, when its been a tried and true method of killing dragons for decades.

ArenaNet is using fear now. They want players to be afraid of doing anything that might be an exploit because there is a chance it might be deemed an exploit and thus cause them to get banned. Unfortunately every time things like this happen it creates a lot of anxiety in the game where people are worried about doing things that could be considered exploit.

The line you cross to determine what an exploit is couldn’t be any more vague or inconsistent than it is right now, so now players are either ignoring everything that could be very profitable (even some speed clears could fall into exploit definitions) and staying poor, or they are playing Russian Roulette with ways of making money or completing content, in the hopes to keep up with the ever inflating price of things and to not fall behind the rest of the pack who are using all the creative ways to make a profit.

At the end of the day it’s lose lose. ArenaNet is intentionally vague and poor at communication over issues like this one so it’s just something you have to get used to or move onto another game.

You wanna know something?
Who gives a kitten???

I’d rather take a shortcut and risk my kitten in this game than sit with a thumb up my kitten and pretend that playing by the rules will get me anywhere.
If I ever find a shortcut, count on me to be the first to use it, this game is unplayable without fast gold making, just not.

I’ll gladly accept a ban if the day comes, and get this game done and over with as long as I could create 10 hours of pure fun compared to 200 hours of misery farming like an idiot.

Since it’s completely optional, at this point the rarer these weapons become, the better for Anet as a business.

You don’t have to get one, and it shouldn’t make anyone quit the game for.

In a year from now, these weapons actual worth should be around 2kg and people will drool over their owners.
It’s a good marketing tactic – have a bunch of players run around with legendaries, then pump the prices of req. on TP.

Boom, no one else get their chance besides TP farmers and hardcore players = profit for Anet.

Have you never played an MMO with a trading post or Auction House.
If you dont like the prices, dont buy the items, go get them yourself like they had to or the players that might of originally gone off and farmed them, crafted them etc etc.

Bnning players for trying to make pixel money in a virtual economy is just NO! unless of course its is via the more shady bot side of things.. then by all means wield the ban hammer with fury… if I want to use my money to buy up all the copper ore on the BTC and resell it all for a profit, then that’s my decision and its certainly not an exploit!

Who do you determine to be at fault in a traders market.. the trader for trying to make a living through supply or the customer willing to pay the prices, thus driving the demand.????

Just NO!

Power to the people!!

JUST YES!!!

In addition to what Minos.5168 said –
Any trader who owes a huge sum of gold may as well turn to RMT and make a fortune.
Feeding off the very same plague the community tries to fight.

I know I’d do it, and I know a player who lost all attachment to the game but still makes tons of money will do it, what else is left?

Playing the TP like it is a mini-game isn’t anything new. The difference is that drop rates have been nerfed into oblivion. It makes the difference between the wealth of the ‘working class’ hero and the ‘day-trader’ player laughable. Those players who don’t want to or don’t know how to manipulate the market are left toiling away in frustration for a mere pittance of what the TP players make simply logging in to check their sales.

How much do you make in an hour? My average is 20g
And guess what? playing the TP? it’s wrong, dead wrong, so wrong that only people who make profit off it seem to think it’s right.
