CD doesn’t matter. There is huge amount of warriors and when your zerg respawns you normally got enough time to get Warbanner off CD.

If i had to decide based on the individual player skill i would nominate either the old BNF (before they got more members, they need some practice atm) or REQ. Those two guilds are pretty small, mostly running with about 5 people but are able to defeat much larger groups.
That said, this decision is based on which guilds i fought against so far (that means: no RG for example).

A cripple would enhance our ability to “melee stuff” more than it would enhance our ability to kite.
Exactly. We are the only profession that is designed to only fight in melee range yet we struggle to ever keep the enemy nearby. And yeah, we can teleport and leap but that means you can land one, maybe two hits and that’s it.
I’m actually getting kited forever by every profession except for necros (only if i can keep swiftness up which requires high boon duration and 2 shouts) and maybe mesmers. /edit: …and other guards.

I also get this problem quite often. I can still use all my skills but can’t move or dodge and the only thing that frees me is a movement skill like GS #3. Weapon swap also does nothing unlike those “stucked in recently built siege”-bugs. Never really tried to do an emote.

As a support guardian, i’m using Mace/Shield in our raids. Channeling Mace #3 before entering the fight + Shield #4 afterward gives nice protection boons. I’m usually laying a symbol afterwards and switch to GS to do my share of damage.

Hold the Line and Save Yourselves are the shouts that don’t work. Sometimes they remove a condition, but never grant the corresponding boon.

Try to always be in a town before entering WvW. I personally prefer Rata Sum because bank and tp there are close to each other and Lion’s Arch got long loading screens most of the time.

Haven’t been able to really stack burn so far. Most of the time, i’m just doing 1s burns that add a bit of damage and are not worth any point in condition damage.
Eles are way better in stacking burns.

The next time you see an enemy thief daggerstorming into your group, try pressing your “Area Retaliation” Button (usually Stand Your Ground! or, if you are stacked up, GS #4) and watch the poor thief die almost instantly. Really fun ^^

Started using Pain Inverter on my guardian yesterday. Without any condition damage, those 3 stacks tick for a little over 400 damage per action. It literally destroyed people that didn’t expect it.
/edit: I wasn’t stacking might. Maybe 2-3 stacks due to GS autoattacks but that’s it.
Currently leveling a mesmer (asura for sure). Can’t wait to see those zergs die from their own actions.

Guess we are doing okay currently. Reset was hard with a lot of pressure from Drakkar and Dzagonur seemingly absent. Still are some points behind Drakkar but we got a good night and morning and depending on primetime might be able to shorten the gap. Don’t think we can take 1st place today or even tomorrow but might be doable until friday.
T1 will be quite impossible i guess But we already got more than enough zerg play down here, and i don’t really like that. I’m more for smallscale and roaming around picking good fights with small groups instead of steamrolling everything ^^

Also got this lately. Was fighting in WvW against some player that try to cap our supply camp. After finishing the first one i got stuck unable to move or dodge. The other players then easily killed me…
I got no conditions on me and was still able to use my heal and other skills. Movement skill on that weapon set as well as weapon swap were on CD so i couldn’t try to escape using them.
/edit: Stunbreaks didn’t help.
I also got stuck a LOT after buildung siege weapons. Usually happens if the siege got finished before i put all of my supply into it but also in every other situation. Though weapon swap usually helps…

On my guardian (T2 cultural armor) i am currently using celestial and river to give it a few shiny blue spots. Might be switching to another blue but it looks nice currently. Before getting my celestial i was using Icing which is way cheaper but also looks nice despite being a little dull compared to celestial.
On preview those colors also looked nice on T3. Just a little too expensive for me ^^

It’s not just small group fights. 1-2 confusion mesmers + several necros can totally destroy a zerg using epidemic to stack confusion. We are currently trying to build an extra mesmer-necro group because it’s just that strong.
Zerg players often have autoattacks queued because of latency and might not be able to recognize that they just got stacked with 10+ confusion so they just die.

We were forced to play zergy yesterday due to our enemies doing the same. We had 2 commanders and i wasn’t able to see them most of the time (only on minimap). Also saw about 10 people around me when we were in fact 30+.

I don’t remember exactly, but i don’t think there was anything regarding swiftness (like on aura apply) in that guys’ build. Don’t know, why we are even arguing. This build is totally gimmick and dies everytime he can’t hit all of his enemies at once (and even then: His hp/armor is low enough to let his enemies kill him in downedstate. That’s why he is almost never shown finishing an enemy).
I’m not saying that scepter/dagger is always a bad build because it’s not. But that particular build is…well, the forum filter would say ‘kitten’.

That elementalists damage might be high, but as stated multiple times before: It’s a pure gimmick build. After doing his thing he is left without any means to survive.
If you could actually manage to dodge his RtL → Updraft start, he is basically already dead as his build contains no stunbreak, no escape skills and no heal ^^

100 members for me is a really big guild ^^ We are currently at 57, containing multiaccounts, honorary members and inactive ones ^^
That said, i’m still very proud for having stayed on MS after all those lows we had in former times. Guilds left us, tried to taint our guilds and servers name, but we still stand proud and fight in every circumstance. That’s why i love my guild, my server and the people playing here.

If you don’t want to run condition removal, you don’t get to remove conditions.
I am currently running 5 condition removers (+1 unreliable due to Pure of Voice still being bugged for months). The problem is, to cleanse confusion you have to use a skill → 4-5k damage in your face. That’s 1/4 of my total hp. If i ever dare to dodge (Selfless Daring) or even hit once after i got those stacks on me because my actions are still queued and i can’t interrupt them (well i can, just need to dodge…oh, wait…) i’m half dead the moment i cleanse the confusion on me.
Not counting cover conditions that make me use more than 1 skill to remove confusion → i’m dead.
Alternate option is doing nothing until confusion wears off, including dodging. Not like mesmers could burst me to death while i’m unable to do anything

There is 1, maybe 2 situations where he actually downed more than 1 player. But still, still build is a pure gimmick. He gives up every piece of defense for a single attack. The thief has no need to do this, so those arguments are invalid.

The amount of work for a thief to deal this amount of damage is really too low. And combined with stealth it means you get maybe 1-2 sec to kill the thief or he just vanishes and either runs away or proceeds with the fight…totally his decision.

What mode are you playing: PvE oder WvW? (Can’t be PvP because of racial skills).
I would always recommend Judge’s Intervention (JI) when using a hammer.
JI + Ring of Warding → Trap your opponent instantly.
JI + Banish → Insta-knockback.
Both only really work against other players as mobs walk towards you either way and can’t be knocked off cliffs.

You really need to watch the video that was linked. That elementalist was clearly having no trouble running into big groups and taking out multiple targets.

Also, updraft knocks you up, taking away your ability to dodge. So really, no, you’re wrong.
Everytime he charges into a group the current scene ends and he isn’t even shown finishing his target. I guess that’s because the other players ripped him to shreds after he used all 3 utilities, his elite + his escape skill to down a single opponent. Also he mainly targets twinks.
Also….dodge before updraft? It’s not like you wouldn’t notice a huge ball of lightning moving towards you while making loud and easily recognizable noises.

We are good group/team players. We really shine at supporting and defending points (only really useful in PvP).
But: We quite suck in smaller teams or solo. We need someone to do the CC for us or go heavily towards damage to not be getting kited forever. (That said, i really love to do smallscale with my necro guildie ^^)

I’m using 2 Water + 4 Altruism runes. Works fine so far and no need to do dungeons for it. You lose a bit on healing power but the might on heal is a nice boost.

I also hate doing fractals (lvl 7 atm, just too repetitive…) but can’t honestly be asked to wait 3 months doing my daily everyday and monthly on top of it (where i need to do even more PvE….yeah, 5 dungeons this month -.-) until i can get my ascended rings and amulet and never be able to get an ascended back (well, i was lucky enough to get a vial on fractals lvl 3).

1) Thieves are generally squishy, so if we are to be revealed for a couple of seconds more, then at least make us more durable to last a couple of seconds more as well. Increase our base health & toughness to last longer in proportion to the length of time of us being seen.
