I’d go for SB Cluster Bomb spam to be able to provide lots of healing with water fields. You will need a group to do this (or a ranger you could steal from) but CB is the best blast finisher in the game and can also be used to stack extreme amounts of might, give chaos armor to everyone, AoE blind the enemy zerg etc.

just make sure you are standing inside the field so you don’t have to suffer too much from CBs slow traveling speed.

I don’t care about PvE but as a guardian in general, you are not very mobile. GS and Sword are the only weapons that offer additional mobility to chase your opponent, escape from them or simply move around faster. Both of those weapons also got a fairly high attack rate that helps triggering Virtue of Justice and On-Crit-effects without high precision.

Greatswords also got the most awesome looking skins in this game :P

Using LoS is basically the key in outnumbered fights, regardless of the class you are using. I fought 2 fort ranik players this morning while capping their supply camp (they showed up when only the supervisor was left. The other guards respawned while i finished one of them though).

You got multiple abilities to heal and blocks to buy time to do this. Try to avoid heavy damage while you are low with using LoS. If there is no free straight line between you and the enemy a warrior can’t bulls charge you, a ranger can’t shoot etc.

Focus is almost perfect as it is right now, just leave it this way.

Don’t know about NA but we are currently playing in EU T5. We also played in lower brackets as well as in T3 so i guess i can compare them fairly well.

Every bracket got lots of good guilds, players and fights as well as strategy and nightcapping. Overall i’d say that the top tiers are more about macro managing your zergs and having more coverage off primetime. There are also zergs in lower tiers but mostly during primetimes and individual player skill got more chances to shine during off primetime when there are less players on the map.

3 badges in 10 minutes? That is…not really that much compared to what you could get when actually playing the game or even tried to get access to an organized WvW guild.

It has been nerfed? I truly don’t know about this, last thing i know is it being buffed to be available directly after going down.

Also, not any movement skill can escape a stomp. Thief can still be blink-stomped by guardian, thief, mesmer and ele. Mesmer can 100% escape but has to time it right so he doesn’t appear too early and must be lucky to port far enough.

JP give blueprints to those who complete it.

kill enemies -> less siege to deal with
also: enemies in JP -> less enemies to deal with on the map

Be happy that they waste their time in JP and capture their towers. You gain badges, karma, xp and silver for doing it.

Btw: Legendary wielders always get targeted first in WvW

It was the first vid i’ve found…looking for something better but i actually fought against that ele multiple times and know what he’s capable of (well, i’m playing Healway/bunker guard myself so we will likely never finish a fight before someone gets asleep or more people add).

/edit: Your vid is blocked in germany but i know how low our damage can be when we are purely built for support/healing.

Besides: 25 might stacks self buffed is bogus for ele. Its not possible.

Not permanent, but it is. Let’s do the math:

First, bunker D/D eles got 60% boon-duration.

- Switching to fire gives 1 stack might for 24 sec every 9 sec, so at least 2 stacks permanent and an additional stack for 6 sec.
- Sigil of Battle gives 3 stacks might for 32 sec every 9 sec, so at least 9 stacks permanent and additional 3 stacks for 5 secs.
- Ring of Fire + Earth dodge gives 3 stacks might for 32 sec every 15 sec, so at least 6 stacks permanent and additional 3 stacks for 2 secs.

-> At this point we already got 17 permanent might stacks with 24 stacks peak for a short time. And we still haven’t touched Arcane Blast, Earthquake or Churning Earth (not so common).

As already been suggested mutliple times: Just make tower/fort portals unusable in downed-state (or under the effect of a downed skill, whatever works). Currently this would affect vapor form and vengeance.

There are only 2 things i would change about D/D ele:

- shorten Fire Field + Blast finisher duration (20 sec in my opinion is much too long and allows a full bunker build to also deal respectable amounts of damage. I’ve seen D/D eles been able to get to 25 might stacks on their own)

- shorten RTL range or let it be affected by cripple/chilled like every other movement (not teleport) skill in the game. Or increase the CD, whatever. I feel like 15 secs is too low for an nearly unstoppable (not every class can spam immobilize) 1200 range.

A real stat buff would likely destroy some attempts to do a coordinated 1v1 or GvG due to one party being extremely overpowered. You may say that WvW isn’t about 1v1 or GvG but as long as there isn’t a separate option (without constrictive PvP equipment) there simply is no other way.

To be able to carry more supply would likely be abused easily. The Outmanned buff we got now may be the only real solution for the current state of WvW.

Hold the Line almost always fails to remove a condition for me. This bugged trait is one of the main reasons i’m using Retreat over Save Yourselves.

Price for this is it being bit slow and no jumping. But it proved itself for me pve.

A bit slow? I don’t know about PvE but in WvW you are essentially freeloot the moment you enter the suit.

7-Series Golem suffers from bad pet KI. He is capable of range attacks but almost always directly walks towards the enemy to attack in melee range. Also very fragile and the duration seems too short.

D-Series Golem is halfway acceptable. Helped a bit with blocking the salves during the karka event but that’s basically it.

I’d honestly love to see all our racial elites removed and given something usable.

I would go with p/v/t and try to increase my precision with other gear pieces. I find myself always in need of some p/v/t pieces as they allow me to get some defense without lowering my damage too much.

Well, the only thing we have to prevent that would be Renewed Focus, our Elite. Would only be fair to be able to do something with it, right? Besides, conditions are still ticking while you are invulnerable.

Defy Pain has an internal cooldown of 90 seconds, so it doesnt trigger after using Endure Pain which makes this trait pretty much useless to me.

Hmm, i’m no warrior but i would rather take the trait than using up one of my utility slots for the stance.

Well you don’t have to use ascended pieces until now and most people are doing very well without them. I would wait until they add cleric armor or use soldier’s in the meantime. I am currently using the soldier back piece (Koss on Koss) but can’t bring myself to do fractals to get the rings anyway.

I usually don’t have a problem with keeping vigor up. 4% critchance is not much but it’s something and both GS and sword got a fairly high attack rate. Also, SY! grants fury for a short boost.

Celestial might be an idea but i would try magi (healing power, precision, vitality) gear first.

Guardians can also blinkstomp when using Judge’s Intervention. It’s not ground-targeted and if the thief doesn’t teleport behind you camera (thus causing you to lose target) you will still have him selected for JI.

Against control classes, Thieves can start stomp → Shadowstep away → Shadow Returm immediately before stomp finishes.

Sure there are, but their viability depend on the size of your group. In small group it would be helpful to actually deal a bit of damage while in larger groups there are usually enough people to do so.

Adding an internal cd would help this. Guess about 3 secs would do it. Warriors already got a similar trait with cripples and, as already pointed out, are able to cripple quite a bit.

When being on my guardian it often happens that i’m rooted in place unable to move or dodge. I can still use skills but unless it’s a movement skill i will stay in place even when switching weapon sets

I guess because it is exactly what servers like Vizunah (never played against them, just from what i read) are doing currently.

They are just playing to win, even doing multiple shifts not sleeping at all so they need weeks after to recover.

That said, my guild also plays mostly for points but we also have a lot of fun during our raids. Got a little video for you ^^ You may not be able to understand the texts or voices in the backgroudn because it’s german but you will for sure understand the pictures:

I’m also against this change, but remember: Real bunker guardians aren’t doing that much damage so they also would be unable to kill you. Also, warriors can be built to be much tougher and it would become a real problem to ever deliver enough damage to a d/d ele before he completely heals himself up again.

Yeah sorry, seems i don’t really understood your post.

I fought some mesmers lately, nearly all of them were heavy confusion. In 1on1 it’s usually manageable but in larger fight it’s becoming a bit of a problem.

I was fighting a confusion mesmer and a backstab thief the other day. Managed to down the mesmer before the thief showed up but that’s when the real problems started. Mesmers are able to easily stack huge amounts on confusion all the time on you if they are downed. Couldn’t really finish the mesmer as the thief would just kill me in the meantime. Couldn’t hit the mesmer or thief as the confusion would cause me to kill myself. I could’ve tried to run away but, well…guardians are slow and thiefs are fast so i got killed ^^

Epidemic could be the a good place to start but i don’t know how to change it without rendering it completely useless. Mesmer downed state could also be adjusted a little bit as it just happened to their underwater skills, but that’s not so important i think.

I know how to play my class, thanks. All of our guardians are specifically built for support running 80% boon duration. However, most of them are consecration builds, i am currently the only fixed shout guardian in our raid. Area condition removal is mostly shared between us guardians and our D/D eles.

However, timed confusion + multiple epidemics can occur really fast and an attempt to cleanse them does a huge amount of damage. Before even doing this, an ele has to switch over to water so that’s one more tick.

It’s amazing how everything that comes up on the forums immediately gets marked as l2p by the classes that would be affected by a change.

Reminds me quite a bit of Cristos’ Healway build that has been of great fun for me since i start using it. Same traitlines, armor and even weapon sigils ^^ Might test it a bit but i somehow dislike the feeling of immobility i get when using symbols.

As already stated above, AH is useless if you want to heal your group as it’s pretty selfish. Your best bet would be something similar to the Healway guardian (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/WvW-PvE-The-Healway-Guardian). It builds around Selfless Daring combined with several tricks to grant you multiple dodge rolls (Vigor, Sigil of Energy). It also features high boon duration so you effectively help your group.

It’s not about the damage of Shield of Wrath. It’s about you wanting to reduce it to 1 block per 2 secs that renders your F3 passive useless for that time. Currently it provides 3 blocks instantly that don’t hinder Aegis from being applied and i like the way it is. I would rather see the explosion removed and a shortened CD ^^

We got hit by a mesmer – necro confusion bomb yesterday. Our raidlead, a d/d ele, died almost instantly due to 25 stacks of confusion. This is what people are currently doing in WvW and whoever witnessed it would agree that it’s much too powerful.

I use 4 of them together with 2 water. I lose a bit of healing power compared to 3 water + 3 monk but i hate doing dungeons and the might is a nice bonus for a rather defensive build.

If you can’t stay in Melee distance w/ these, you need to re-evaluate your playstyle…

I have been playing with those 3. First of all, blinds do nothing to stop your opponent from running away. The pull is extremely predictable and as stated above:

Exactly. We are the only profession that is designed to only fight in melee range yet we struggle to ever keep the enemy nearby. And yeah, we can teleport and leap but that means you can land one, maybe two hits and that’s it.

Most guardians play like D/D bunker eles not doing much burst but rather try to grind their opponents down due to being superior in longer fights. A teleport doesn’t really help with staying in melee range in this situation.

We shouldn’t be the only profession that has to rely on sigils/food for this.

Hmm, but outside of battles i’m often using GS #3 when traveling and swap weapons mid-air thus canceling the jump to land exactly where i want to be. It has never rooted me.
