Oh, i’d love for them to nerf PU, because i found CI much more enjoyable to play, but in turn they need to at least revert the Mirror Blade change and buff Chaotic Dampening.

Reaper will get damage on chill, so making that baseline would really weaken the specialization.

Besides, i actually think that Chill is one of the strongest conditions (though it has more uses in a WvW environment, where a lot of movement is involved).

First things first: Always assume that the opponent knows who is the real mesmer. Good players will and so there’s no point to cripple yourself by behaving like a clone.

Charrs only run on 4 legs out of combat.

Indeed, i lately experienced that myself when i swapped out MoD for MoR because i had 1 charge left (like always…) and got jumped by a thief during that. I basically had to fight with 2 utilities.

This has been bugged since the trait revamp and persists even after the Mender’s Purity – Mantra of Resolve bug was fixed.

When using a non-instant heal while traited in Insipiration, there is a 0.5-1s aftercast until Mender’s Purity triggers. During that time all skill input and weapon swap will be ignored.

Please fix this.

Because Eles are obviously carried by fire and air sigils instead of their huge sustains and mobility?
Or Fire and Air sigils some how do best against Eles?

Eles don’t use them, so they are unaffected by the nerf. The nerf means less pressure on them, so it’s even harder to kill them than before.

It’s not a direct buff, but an indirect one.

Fir/Air sigils and Mirror Blade are actually what makes mesmer GS viable. With both nerfed, its damage has been heavily reduced (by ~25%, i’d say) and it now suffers even more from offering no defense.

In addition to being blockable and evadable, please let me weaponswap while taunted, so i can switch to staff and back off.

This will definitely get so much more fun when Revenant hits (and maybe Berserker, too).

/edit: A ranger using taunt will using birds most of the time, which always stay on target, so taunt basically always hits.

I’ll get rid of Inspiration, too. Since i no longer need Traveler runes, i’ll instead go for Hoelbrak or similar, use -condi food (in WvW) and be nearly immune to cripple/chill/immob and hopefully resistent enough against the remaining conditions (+ stealth to avoid them in the first place), that i don’t need cleanses.

Clone death was a lazy playstyle without much counterplay besides “just don’t fight it”, so no. Besides, Master Fencer is way better than Confusing Combatants could ever hope to be.

Seeing Tempest is kinda sad, as its boon support and boonrip will make it an even better pick for every game mode and heavily steps in Mesmer territory. Perma Shocking Aura and 25s cd on an AoE pull without target limit is nothing to sneeze at, either.

On the bright side, Chrono will bring long awaited movement speed, the powerful slow and 100% critchance with Fury on a slowed enemy. The only sad thing is that i’ll need to craft another set of Ascended Armor, because i have Traveler on mine.

On the positive side, you get an amazing weapon in warhorn, taking over the mesmer’s/guardian’s job of providing boons, gaining access to boon remove, giving (nearly) every boon in the game to your whole group and extending its duration and having access to a 25s cd AoE pull without a target limit in Cyclone.

Stealth is basically the only thing the ele needs to be able to do everything in the game.

I’m in no way saying that Mesmer is balanced, but you certainly don’t have much reason to complain.

FYI, Kill Shot has a 3.25 power scaling, so 4.1 would probably hit for 15-20k.

Is it? I don’t play ranger, but the Wiki doesn’t state it’s unblockable.

The last patch changed similar stuff (mesmer blinds etc) to be evadable, so this is either an oversight or intented…in which case i’d like to see it nerfed accordingly.

Also, at least pre-patch taunt prevented weaponswap, which seems kinda unintentional.

Ah well, here we are, back to swapping out Mantras after every fight to recharge them.

Why they would actually reduce MoD’s cd is totally beyond me, though.

On a sidenote: From the patchnotes it seems like Ranger taunt still goes through evade/block.

Yes those 3 and the removal of background mantra CDs.

Background charging is a QoL improvement, so we don’t have to swap out the mantra and re-equip it if we only needed 1 or 2 (traited) charges. This doesn’t even work in ranked PvP, so we have to either burn the last charge somewhere and recharge or have to hamper ourself by beginning the next fight with less charges.

I do admit that mantras (especially the heal and most probably MoD, too) need a cd increase to make up for the background recharge, though.

The mantra symbol under your feet is obvious, react depending on your class.

Mantras need a CD increase, that for sure (at the very least the heal and MoD), but the “charging in background” part should stay as it’s a big QoL improvement over the old system.

Making these skills unusable while cc’ed will actually make burst specs better, since there is less counterplay against them.

That…doesn’t actually make any sense at all.

Mirror Blade is actually the one skill that keeps GS from being like old rangers LB, only being good for pew pew’ing people at range. If Unblockable is a problem for you, take a look at ele focus, guard shield, sword or any other weapon that does “destroy” projectiles. Those don’t count as block and do in fact counter Mirror Blade.

2v8? I don’t know what horrible players you are playing against, but i’d rather run and start by picking off stragglers, because in my matchup those 8 would probably be:
- 2 Venomshare thieves
- 3 PU mesmers
- 1 LB ranger
- 2 Well necros

And there’s just no way we 2 would survive that on any spec.

-Put a 1/4s cast time on phase retreat
-Put a 3s cd on deceptive evasion

PU mesmers aren’t even using staff, so i don’t really know where your problem with Phase Retreat is. Just remember that giving it a cast time is going to remove a LOT of it’s utility and might make staff unusable for a lot of build, causing even more PU mesmers to pop up.

DE doesn’t need a cd, it’s gated by endurance, which even took a hit with the Vigor nerf. Double dodging to burst also takes way too much time and can’t even be done from stealth since the illusions are visible.

/edit:
I’m all for nerfing PU, but 50% is tricky, since it comes to half seconds on nearly every stealth skill and you’ll have to decide how to treat those. If you are goind with rounding down, it might be better to change PU back to +1s, increase the base stealth duration on Massinvis by 1-2s and increase the Boon Duration on PU (since Chaos lost its boon duration, those rarely last longer than the stealth itself).

Bursting an ele to half health is hardly op, every class can do this. It just doesn’t do much since the ele heals to full during the next few seconds. So unless you have high sustained damage, you will never kill them.

/edit: To add to Curunen’s post. Damage needs to be toned down across the board, if any. Mesmer auto attacks are actually pretty weak compared to those of other classes (GS is only good, because it can reliably proc Fire/Air on cd).

Their F3 shouldn’t instantly remove Stability on targets. 4 shatter Daze hits should count as 1 stability stack removal.

No, 3 clones are 3 dazes. That’s how shatters work.

Shatter is our class mechanic, so it should be kinda mandatory. You can (in theory, didn’t test) combine it with Phantasms by traiting Persistence of Memory and/or – when Expansion hits – Chronophantasma.

Some of these don’t technically give immunity (Mirror of Anguish doesn’t prevent you from getting stunned, it only stuns the opponent in return), but i would generally welcome icons for usually non-visible cds, like traits. Those can be invisible to anyone else except the player.

For PvP you should pick human, as there are normalized character models (at least for ranked? I don’t really do PvP) and this way you at least see your char the way other people do.
