I completely agree. There’s a line between having a conversation and spamming and the actual system absolutely does not take this into account.
If inspection is about knowing the name of the armor skin and being able to preview how it would look on your character that’s fine.
Otherwise I second what has already been said.
Considering the prices of Celestial and Abyss dyes (as examples), two basic colors that everyone would like in their palette, skyrocketed to 10g and 20g respectively, yeah, I think dyes need to be account bound. If nothing else, at least the rare dyes should be account bound.
I’m an altoholic, so in order to have both a true black and a true white would cost me 240g for all 8 characters. I’ve been playing this game since mid-September and I only have a little over half of that amount total and that’s without having spent hardly anything.
If they don’t make dyes account bound then I’d really like to see them revamp some of their dye acquisition. My suggestions:
- Dye packs from the gem store should guarantee at least one rare dye.
- Crafted unidentified dyes should never result in a lesser quality item. Example: If I make a (Rare) Unidentified Grey Dye then the result when I open it should be a random rare dye from the grey spectrum. I find the fact that it takes ~1.5g to craft and has a chance to be uncommon or common when you open it ridiculous.
That exactly
No, this does not need to be in the game. The ability to stay alive in a dungeon is what we rate people by, not by what numbers they can do. I don’t see how this would add any challenge into the game other than a unwanted competition between players.
Making things more challenging and more fun involves improving the dungeons. We need more mechanics rather than the boss having a big health pool and a one shot skill. That’s what we’re missing, not a damage meter.
Well said.
Since there is no real trinity no one is supposed to be a pure DPS. A damage meter would only encourage people to go for high numbers instead of learning how to master their character’s profession.
That would really be a great improvement
Utterly annoying I agree. Rezing, looting and talking dialogs should not pop up randomly one in place of another.
What really grabbed my attention here are people talking about roleplay in a topic asking for nudity…
Are you sure you’re playing the right game?
My very fist MMO was a korean one, so basically fully open world, all skills available at all time, 10 bars to put shortcuts to skills, gear, macro… and grind, grind, grind. I really loved this game but after 3 years I was forced to stop because I could not launch it anymore due to a bug on my computer.
So I tried GW1. At first it was a real shock! Instance everywhere, only 8 skills available at the same time? Only 20 lvl? omg wtf?!
Still I played to GW1 more than 5 years. And I still feel like I want to play it (too bad it’s so empty now).
Why? Because I felt in love with what I consider to be the true essence of GW1 : Build decking. Getting to lvl 20 was only the beginning. The more I played the more I realized how deep and interesting the combat system was. I loved to test a lot of strange builds, finding a solution for every situation. Trying again if it was not such a great idea after all. And that feeling when I had created a great build, really there’s nothing comparable here. There is no way I’m going back a to a korean style grind fest MMO after that.
However in GW2 we only have cookie cutter builds which are so dull. Except for dodging aoe here you can just press the keys randomly while watching TV. Sometimes I even go back and forth to win for some facebook chat during dungeon fights, because there are plenty of time when it’s not such a big deal. (And no I was not killed and my group did not wipe). That’s really something I would never have done during a fight in GW1.
I wanted to love GW2 so much! It’s supposed to be GW after all and I anticipated this game for so long… But to be honest I’m really disappointed.
Yet I don’t want to give up hope on GW2 already, I can’t help but thinking that maybe they’ll do something about it… hopefully
I completely agree.
I second this. I’m right handed and my left hand starts to hurt when I play to the game for several hours.
I don’t get why everything is concentrated on only one hand, the one that in not even the lead hand for a majority of humans.
At least in GW1 we had the choice to use keyboard, mouse or even both.
they should never allow this…if you don’t want an elite skill, then it’s actually a failure on the dev side….
in GW1, NO one would have suggested this because elite skills were amazing…you were seriously gimping urself if you didn’t have an elite skill on your skill bar…..unless it was some crazy farming build
In GW1 no one would have suggested that because you were not forced by the game to have an elite skill in your build. I knew some people who could create some very good builds without any elite skill at all. It’s all about synergy.
Fyrebrand said it all, it would be a terribly bad idea. In addition to costing money travel would become slow and boring.
It probably won’t happen for one simple reason….
Underwear + Flesh Tone Dye = Naked
Already answered :
In talking with some people they suggested it may have not been implemented because of some dyes matching the color of the skin so it would look like they are nude, which is bad for a family atmosphere game. So how about being able to dye the underwear but also have it limited to a set number of colors?
+1
It would really be great to have some more flexibilty on this. Their are professions where the elites are not even as usefull as a utility skill. Not to mention the fact that the choice is even narrower when underwater.
I completely agree. The actual setting is not logical since it’s suppose to loot automatically, plus it’s annoying. For example in dungeons when you kill a big bunch of monsters, you move during the fight so you’re not near the corpses (especially is you are a range class), the groups moves on and you have to say “hey wait I’ve got a loot at the other end of the room”…
Also sometimes you want to rez a player before he dies and…. the game only gives you the option to loot until you have picked up everything near the player. Another issue a real auto loot would solve.
That would be a great feature.
This please. It’s such a pain having those random target change in the middle of battle. I don’t want to select anything with the right click NEVER EVER.
If you don’t want to remove it at least give us an option to turn it off because this is really ruining the gaming experience of a lot of people.
Thank you
One solution could be a bag that store soulbound items automatically. It’s not a perfect solution since lower level gears are not always soulbound when you use them but it would be great for endgame gears.
where is the original Guild wars 1 team? (my honest opinion)
<—— guild wars 1 fan 100%. Guild wars 2 fan 45%Face it, guild wars 2 is not yet close to its prequel. Yes better graphics, a jump added, and strafing, but the core of what made " Guild wars" is missing.
I must admit that I share this feeling.
I really long for content with bigger groups and more complexity like The Deep or Urgoz’s Warren.
I agree with OP, being able to use our unlocked dyes on our underwear or at list have some color choices would be nice.
If I’m going to show my underwear to the world every time my armor break I would prefer to have some nice looking ones.
Besides it would be kinda hard to do with Sylvari since its not really Underwear but grown leaves from their body
Sylvari and their cultural armors are made of leaves and we can choose their color so I don’t think this would be a real issue.
I second this. I like to change my armor’s color frequently and it’s a heartbreak that I can’t match the color of the weapon too.
So that people start to report others hoping they’ll be able to get their character name?
Here is what I miss from GW1
Skill, build and fighting related :
- The huge skill diversity and number
- Secondary professions
- Skills independant from weapons
- The ability to change attribute points at will for free and to save templates
- Interrupt skills
- Seeing what skill the foes are using
- Elite skill hunting
- Elite skills feeling elite
- Rangers without pets
PVE related :
- Boss drops
- Actual drops from monsters
- Elite zones like FoW or Urgoz
- Bigger groups
UI related :
- Point and clic to move my character
- First person view
- Moving and resizing every piece of the IU at will
- Changing the order of ALL the skills in my bar and still having the number corresponding to their place in the bar
- Not having a “works for everything” key. I hate it when I want to pick up a drop or rez a player and the game opens a chat window or try to rez a stupid NPC
Holiday related:
- Free hats at all the holidays events
- Wintersday gifts that drop nice stuff like candy canes instead of trash
- Halloween event based on fun and not about how many gory/scary stories can the staff think of
- A real epic madking says !
Last but not least armors for female warrior that allows you to look like a female instead of a keg. Please.

wow I could have felt into it to, thanks for sharing.
There is no way I’m going to buy a one time only skin for that price… all the more considering that you have to buy the whole set even if you just want the legs for example.
It should work like the reward from the all of monument : unlock it and use it as much as you want.
Maybe they should buff runes/sigils to make them more useful instead of nerfing a consumable.
Don’t dream, Anet is quite famous for nerfing not buffing.
I also feel like the fights are generally boring.
I’m not against the dodge system because it’s actually the only thing preventing me from falling asleep while fighting… I like the reactivity that it implies.
The skills however… I swear thinking about them just made me yawn.
Except when I decide to make a combo (that my party will not even notice) I could easily press the keys randomly as it would make no real difference.
It is especially disappointing considering how much the combat system of GW1 was interesting.
I loved to adapt my play style depending of if the foes were melee fighters or casters. Keeping an eye on annoying foes (like the Wardens of Earth for example) while fighting others to make sure to interrupt their big damage dealing skill and saving my party a hard time. Putting a life drain on the foes that are likely to die the last to enhance my survivability during the whole fight.
In comparison GW2 make me feel like it was designed for 10 years old kids.
A dedicated zone like there was for Urgoz’s labyrinth would be great. Even greater if it could be cross server
Sayeh al’ Rajihd!
She reminds me of the dark elves in Lineage 2 <3

Logan Thackery is a reincarnation of King Adelbern’s son, Prince Rurik. I can tell by how useful he is.
Yeah he runs into every single pack of monsters all by himself without caring for the group just like Rurik!
No. I was looking forward to play a necromancer like in GW1 but they ditched all the mechanics that made me love this class. Sadly there’s nothing here that can compare to spiteful spirit, spoiled victor or any of the old hexes.
To me and many old GW1 players this doesn’t seem the same game company anymore.
That’s exactly how I feel! As if all the people who used to work on GW1 and create great content has left and the head of the company only focus on how to make players buy gems. Where is the fun?
This game should not be allowed to be called GW2 because it has nothing to do with GW1. That’s such a shame
I liked the wintersday presentq in the original GW MUCH better, at least you could get cool items like the candy canes instead of some socks to buy presents that will give you more socks….
I agree with the OP, there is such a lack of communication it’s hard to believe. It’s time they realise it has a negative impact on how players feel about the game.
Jumping puzzles give me motion sickness so if you add a need to hurry I just can’t do it.
It’s really annoying that you can’t share things with your friends because everything is account bound or a bannable offense because there are some gold sellers on the game. I understand you want the cash the gold seller could get for yourself but stop being paranoid and punishing legitimate players, you’ll only make us flee and won’t get any cash at all.
But a very big issue if one of the account is hacked because you loose two accounts in one. This is silly.
I changed my GW2 password maybe one month ago, then today I tried to log to GW1 and my GW1 password would not work. I tried my GW2 password ‘just in case’ and it worked….
I’m really concerned about this because I don’t want to use the same password for both games. If one of my accounts were to be hacked it would be like giving them the other one as a bonus.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Thx
I agree with most of what is said there. The DR is actually punishing real players whereas people using bots are not affected so much. Moreover there seem to be a general ‘buy gems already’ feeling to a lots of the latest changes in the game…
I just realised I could by the frames lol
Got the princess tonic after 4 tries^^

When you run a event where you know that most players are going to die several times you should provide everyone with an instant repair canister in addition to any reward.
I second this.
Providing a fair gaming experience for your CUSTOMERS should be more important than any “It’s just one time because it changes the world”. Not to mention that nothing has changed on the map after we beat the ancient karka, they are still all over the place…
Disappointing….
There was almost nothing that was not bugged. The scavenger hunt was not exciting at all. There was a big lack of explanations. I mean, when there is a scavenger hunt we are supposed to get hints right?
The finale was boring. Killing the same monster twice every time because when you take down its life it’s full again…. that’s just stupid imo What’s the point? Giving players false hopes? Just give them a big life bar already.
I did not feel connected to the event at all, it was mostly about following the herd. I think the NPC supposed to lead us talked like once… There was no emotion.
Events should not just be about giving players something to do but about FUN. The only interesting part was when we had to throw rocks with the geysers.
Not to mention how the amount of coins received for the event was completely ridiculous considering we all had to get repairs after that…
