It looks very neat!
At this point of no contents, please don’t even think of removing any content at all. TA F/U, anyone?
I got my rifle skin at level 20 and sword skin at level 29 during the time I was carried by Nikki. I have annoyed Sandy ever since.
Like, twice level 80 pre-Fracture and hundreds of run post patch without the sword skin? Please, the prestige doesn’t choose you! /jk
Very entertaining to watch. My favorite parts are how you run without getting tripped or trapped by anything and how you micromanage your wardens (their position, their off-sync) as they look quite lively.
How’s about thief next?
Jessie, you have four "No"s. I’m sorry…
Very sweet! Congratulations
Sinister has about as much precision as Berserker for you to benefit from Wall of Reflection.

Well, this is my story in a fractal pug level 30-ish.
We got to Dredge – the Cage part. Two of the party members were a tad inexperienced as they struggled quite a bit to hold their own against the dredge aggro. So when the gate was open, they got overwhelmed and downed while I and two others escaped to the safe spot. The aggro focused to the NPC and we got out of combat. That would just end there if the two downed bodies died and respawned, however, the ele didn’t give up yet and tried to mist form close to us. Obviously, he couldn’t travel that much and got stuck between the aggro and the safe spot. I fell pity for him and decided to help res. One of the dredge (the glorious Veteran Dredge of Millennium) did not leash; he now attacked me and the downed ele. Being an engi, it took me quite an effort to try to res and fend off the attacks at the same time. From the safe spot, the two other members stood watching for three minutes. Then they spoke:
- “Honestly, why don’t both of you just die and respawn? We are out of combat here. It (rezing the downed ele) is just a waste of my time.”
- “Or you could just help?”
- “I’m gonna be AFK. Have fun.”
The other watcher decided to help and we got the downed ele up. In the end, I got a whisper said “Thank you”.
P.S.: It’s not an act of kindness. Somewhere in me there is still a bit of compassion. It struck me that day not to ignore someone who needed help despite not quite vocally.

Whenever I wish for an ascended chest, it always gives me either Fractal skins or some rings.

Necro has Unblockable AoE and impressive cleaves – second best only after Elementalist. I main elementalist and have played all classes in all kinds of runs: bad pugs, super pugs, casual runs, semi casual elitists, super elitist hard core runs, etc. From my experience, the simplicity in rotations and mechanics plus necro’s robust DPS/HP makes it really easy to achieve at least 80% efficiency of the class full potential.
Necro really shines in casual runs and semi-casual runs – like a 35-45 min fractal 50 pug run. When played right, they survive well through bad fractal pugs. For group support, they give out decent vuln and protection up time. They also give plenty of CC that can be used to prevent damage – in lieu of aegis, reflect and stability.
When I play necro, I don’t even feel as much frustrated as playing ranger and thief!
Probably got kicked because the other guys knew eachother, and they got sick of bad pugs, so they wanted to invite another friend or something like that.
Also, you didn’t path the mobs before the entities, shame on you!!!
There were like no mobs before the entities, plus no consumables, mate!
I wonder if it’s better to use the event name (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascalonian_Catacombs_) for some of the headlines to make it more clear.
Other than that, the format is still not very eyes pleasing
I asked for “revenants, ping nude pics on join”.
Nobody joined.
/criesI would have Joined. My Rev is a big Harry Norn.
I’m not sure if I’m into that ç_ç
but…but…she is cute…
She? I… I… uhm… I’m a lil confused (despite having a trans character in my regular party)
If it’s a she, we can come to an arrangement. Plz send pics to my secretary and we’ll try to find some room for an appointment.
Too bad, I had Bloomie .__."
You dont waste time by running around. The waves take exactly the same time no matter if you are stealth stacked or running.
Removing the shield usually takes longer with a group kiting instead of a single player.
All you need is one Bear, then you don’t even have to kite around.
This morning, I was nonchalantly practicing the three-wisp run on my mes on level 29. I posted an LFG “Scale 29, 30 AR. No underwater Mossman please”. As my group filled up, this Mr. Bad-@s$ shot me a PM. It turns out he also blocked me in advance because I couldn’t answer him. So yeah, in case he would read this topic: “What’s the deal with you? It’s my group.”
No. If you pause the end of the clip, they voted to kick me right after the guardian was ridden.
And all this time, I was actually super confused about who was the mesmer mentioned in the chat.
Posting a record 1 second faster than the competition, pretty sad although it is to be expected from someone like Miku.
They recorded 5:45 – 6:50 at every second increment, and plan to keep on posting 1 second faster than vC c;
I knew it’s your idea all along!
Anyhow, it was incredibly fun to watch. Love Sangi’s PoV.
So, we’re gonna have our titles for having reached level 50 when the expansion hits? Sweet! There it is, the prestige that everyone adores.
Inb4 Fractals Trailblazer
Aww… not Fractal Timetraveller? or even Dr. Who?
I’m all for underwater Mossman, guys. Completely legit! Why would you even waste time for any other fractals while you can AFK auto-attack for 5 minutes then pick up rewards? Make no logical sense!
/s
For example,
“OMG, our team gets bad/stupid/difficult gambits because Wethospu wants to hold us down so that his rT guild can win the finals.” Eh? Right!
Second point, I completely agree with you. Such is the nature of any pug tournament. People can only tolerate pug to a certain extent before reaching a boiling point.
Someone on reddit leaked some of the changes to fractals 3 months ago:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/33cu1u/spoilers_unannounced_release/While he could have edited his post, the responses to it from 3 months ago indicated that he hasn’t.
He is now saying there will be raids:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3f98xb/e_returns_with_some_validity/Hope we get 10 man raids. Easier to get a group going regularly while still having that larger than a party feel.
First link, Gabo.
So, we’re gonna have our titles for having reached level 50 when the expansion hits? Sweet! There it is, the prestige that everyone adores.
Because … Silverwaste.
Most people in my guild would rather farm SW in their own pace than enduring the boredom and/or frustration of puggings. We have more daily fractal groups but almost 0 dungeon groups.
The gambits are tricky since not everyone will be streaming. It’s impossible to tell if someone is using first person or HUD.
—
Weth, i like your last idea about gambits and the numerical value, but i think it will be very hard to get balanced.Well, it’s not like we can achieve balance in any way. For example while random teams would be fair, teams will be far from balanced.
Thanks for all the ideas. I have say that some of them feel bit too complicated. More moving parts it has, more likely it will break.
Anyways, I was thinking of having 3 events. One to promote record running, one to promote tournament play and one purely for fun.
1) Monthly dungeon.
Promote record running and hardcore competition by giving a reward for the best times. Could also give some kind of internet prestige points for an accurate guild ranking.
2) Bimonthly? gambit tournament.
Premade teams. 2 weeks before tournament registration closes. A poll is made for each team. Some people give numerical value and then the average/median is used. This number would get updated after match.
A secret list of gambits is made. Every gambit is given a numerical value by the same poll method.
At start of each match, teams would get gambits based on their numerical strength.
Does bimonthly seem too often? With lots of teams there would be lots of organization.
3) Weekly? fun
Stuff like dungeon trek, boss challenges, etc. This needs lots of organization so have to find a volunteer.
Does that sound ok?
1) Like… like leaderboard? :x
2) I’m not sure. I smell a lot of drama will happen.
3) Can we find a way to have it automated?
Congrats!
@Nova: Uh huh, then I think he should apply to be an approver!
@Tomokou: I speak based on what I think.
Yet when Enko or someone from LOD does it you’re suddenly shouting about a kittening fire blazing everywhere. Just chill.
Sorry, it’s not what you are assuming. I only happen to read this thread and most people who post here are LOD. Do I care about what happens to other records? Nope, because I don’t read them. If I come across as negative then so be it. Don’t push some fancy drama here.

I feel like I’d have made spoj proud. 5X necro fractal 50
Surprisingly easy too.
Mossman -> Molten -> Aetherblade -> Mai
Mossman: necro has quite a good cleave
Molten: see above
Aetherblade: Unblockable Wells high-five, bonus if u traited for staff for an extra interrupt and confusion transfer. Don’t know what to do? Plague and pick nose.
Mai Trin: Interrupt is OP (with 5 necros, you can interrupt ALL of her teleport pistol /evil laugh). The tele minion (shadow thingy) is an extraordinaire body blocker. Transfusion is just another thing you can pick out for fun.
Whats the 4th item along on the top? Between the tequatl hoard and the fractal harpoon.
It’s the famed to- /run away in tears Bakayarooo!!!!
Can we have our bunny ears tomorrow? Just askin’.
1.) Trash mobs. At lower level fractals you cleave them down so quickly it doesn’t matter. At higher levels what should I be doing to help my team? I can apply weakness with my warhorn. Is that more helpful than the knockdown + vuln? Or does a thief’s blinds take care of it all? Should I be using skale venom?
2.) Range vs melee on certain bosses. I know melee is higher dps. I prefer to run melee, but some bosses are so visually cluttered I cant see the tells to dodge. Examples of what I am wondering. Arch diviner, mai trin, grawl shaman, moss man. What is expected of me in a fractal group? Pure melee? A hybrid? Pure range? I want to run whatever will help my team the most, but I just don’t know what that is. Are most of you able to see the animations and dodge? I can totally accept “learn to play” as an answer.
3.) Snow blind fractal : Melting the ice wall. At higher levels, say 40 or even 50, should I be trying to kite the sons of svanir around, or trying to kill them? Some hybrid with range?
4.) Snow blind fractal : Elemental source. I have no idea what I am doing in this fight. I mostly hope that someone targets an enemy and I go dps that enemy down. Should I kill the ice elementals when they are up? Or should I focus on the ele source? Should I keep a fire lit for us? Should I give up banners to bring stability/stun breaks ?
5.) Aetherpath final room. It seems pugs mostly stack on top of the one box at the edge of the room and bring stability/stun breaks to tank the lasers. Will this continue to be the tactic at higher levels?
Your advice is really appreciated.
1.) Mace off hand is a better choice, as you can actively interrupt many one-shot attacks when blind is not prevalent. For example, Aetherblade Thug’s Battle Standard, Ascalon Monk’s Empower/Heal Area, Fire Elemental’s Lava Font (not reflectable).
2.) Practice max-melee range. De-target, turn the camera side way so that boss is 45 degree from your facing direction. Slowly pull away from your target while your attack still hits but your skill gets a red bar under it. You need to have an idea of the attack cd to manage endurance, block and whirlwind attack. I always have whirlwind attack ready to break off 100b for an emergency dodge. Between two dodge, I try to bait in Riposte for an extra damage.
Arch Diviner always attacks in a cone area in front of him. If he turns around or twists his torso, you need to dodge regardless. Mai Trin has a slightly wider attack area, the trick is to start casting when you’re out of range, step in for the attack to hit then step back from her attack range (in/out like that). If she focuses on a tank (earth elementals, or bear), you can stay behind her back to attack for a bit. In an average pug, you can use a combo of Endure Pain and Berserker Stance to burst her down once her shield drops to 2 or below. If your group has a big trouble with blocking her teleport pistol, I would suggest you use mace/sword or mace/mace (instead of axe/sword) a` la Wethospu-style to interrupt her attack. This tactic works amazingly well on groups who keep CC on Mai without any good purposes. (Imbued) Grawl Shaman is fairly easy to melee given he’s the only boss with pure range attack. Grawl Shaman needs to face his target to fire off his arrows, so you need to dodge as soon as he turns to your direction. If your group has a mesmer casting Temporal Curtain or Illusionary Warden, make sure to stand slightly behind them for reflection. The point-blank AoE have super obvious tells. For the Dive and Fire Storm attack, you do need to wait at range for the AoE to disappear as they deal extreme damage plus Agony. As for Mossman, avoid doing pure melee if your group has PETS, CLONES and OBLIVIOUS IDIOTS. 90% of my downstate attribute to the Axe/Dagger/Whatever bouncing off a clone and landing straight onto my head even I already dodged it 2 secs ago. And you also have to deal with packs of wolves if your group lacks cleave, somehow. So, in that case, I wouldn’t trust others enough to melee him.
3.) 4.) Generally, I would just run back to the first camp to shake off the Frostbite stacks if I see the group cannot handle both the Ice elementals AND the Frostbite stacks. It would be great if you can light up the fire for your squishy teammates before retreating. Otherwise, don’t try to fight without proper active defense management.
5) Use a bunch of unblockable CC to bypass the charged shield and interrupt the golem’s spin, pull, punch attack. You know what is even sweeter than Battle Standard? Rampage and beat the cr— out of them.
You can’t fool us Sandy, we all know this is just a cover up for why you have been spending so much time holed up with spad!
Hmmm…. juicy. What happened there?
Most people just don’t like the extremely limiting and linear format of the dungeon, at least in other dungeons you have a bit more space to work with for some cool tactics. If we ever get more dungeon content I sincerely hope they make the areas more open and free to figure out an optimal path yourselves. The dungeons in gw2 in that way I don’t really particularly like. I’ve always been a fan of the huge mythical temples/dungeons/towers with vast open spaces.
Like… like, CM? Hue!
Please ignore the troll mesmer who is too lazy to start anything new. The record is very fun to watch. Congratulations!
My current guild does weekly mission, PvP and is very lively on guild chat. People I’m learning things from aren’t from any fixed dungeon guilds, so there isn’t a real need to join one either.
And deSade? He’s just a wallflower /sip tea.
Tobi is love. Tobi is lyfe.
It gives me the motivation to learn how to solo/duo/trio the encounter, or at least, how to bail before it gets hairy.
Solo Bloomhunger: check
Solo Champ ettin and Flame Shaman: check
Solo Svanir boss: check
Solo Mai Trin: check
Solo Hammer seals: check
Solo all sorts of trap/puzzle/shenanigan: check

I think a friend once told me that: If I’m a good player, I should be able to carry any sorts of pug. If I’m not that good, then there is no point complaining about others playing poorly. So my bad pug experience comes down to engaging some shockingly rude pug or downright (and mathematically) idiotic tryhards.

Spojski, did you see (my) block on sword 4? Oh, and another block on staff 3. Look at you, what a nec- oh, never mind… /roleplaying ends
And Gabo, it struck me that Glint spec will use shield, aaaaaand that shield… heals you a lot (from datamined skills) /shake my head At least you can use that FSP shield of yours. See the connection? FSP and Glint. kitten it, the heal hits my feel. It’s almost good.
or ele can only swap weapon instead of elements so is tied to one element if he chooses the weapon swap …
How’s about “No”?
Are you feeling alright?
Now, there’s only Glint left.
I feel like I want to yank Gabo’s collar, stare at his face eyes to eyes and scream “I TOLD YOU! GABE, I TOLD YOU! There will be Glint, and she will come to tear you apart. Hater!” /just a fragment of my fiction
Protective Solace: Fixed a bug that allowed this skill to block unblockable projectiles.
NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOO….! How am I gonna AFK attacking Old Tom at my leisure weep
On a positive note, staff gets a power up. So it’s definitely a good news for my RP plan.
The staff has a very responsive block and CC. The tablet can troll reflect quite well /giddity
Weapon swap to Revenant! \o/
The new OP?
The new OP?
The new OP?

When I pugged with my alt in EU alone, I would get kicked almost instantly (low AP). If I open a lfg for fractals, people would join, immediately leave and take my LFG down to the point I couldn’t open LFG again because of excessive spamming.
And I was a Zerker. Elementalist.
Likewise, when a friend and his other friend came to NA to play. They invited me then pugged the couple of last slots. They would ask for Gear Ping. AP check. Meta comp only. They would kick the pug flying at the slightest mistake.
If I’m looking at the Pugging experience at a whole from the Casual Pasture, the elitism is real.
Its pretty simple. You dont need to be told how to play suboptimally and safe. Thats easy. However people misinterpret the advice given on optimal play as the only method. Then again if people are stupid enough to misinterpret it like that then they deserve to stew in their own ignorance.
And the content is so easy right now there really is no point on wasting effort encouraging safety.
You have a point. But, first no reason to demonize it the way we have, I can’t help but feel that good support has simply gotten lumped in with the hate for PHIW styles because they claim they’re support. Second, I’ve come across many average groups of players, by that I mean guilds or cliques where they could very much benefit from some non meta options, but they’re held back by a few members being devout meta worshipers demanding everyone else play that way with them and being friends they all just go along with it even if it’s detrimental and leads to backing out of challenges and using exploits, just wiping repeatedly at times or worst case ranging and even simply just running in circles doing nothing.
When that happens, just play necro. The meta never exists
Necro ranks second in my easy-to-work-in-a-meh group.

Interesting! My best guess is Illusions and other Companions use different AI models. You can certainly “command” your Companions (turrets/ spirit weapons/ elementals/ pets), but you can only destroy (i.e. shatter) your illusions instead of commanding them.
