I just had a discussion actually. There should be a separate calculator for PHIW builds.
The DPS meter would be converted into an FPS meter (Feels Per Second).
As an example:
Nomad’s double bow ranger with spider and bear pets has one of the highest FeelsPerSecond ever emotionally calculated. It’s the must have staple to every PHIW team comp.
Feels Per Second is the mathematical measurement of emotional attachment to a build.

I farm everyday every dungeon. I notice that if I take a break and don’t even log in for a few days, upon return I always get more shinys :o

I stopped keeping up with what’s on the gem store almost a month or so ago since the ratio of gold:gems is so terrible… it’s like 100 gold for 650 gems or something awful like that now

Yeh it’s pretty bad, more so because dungeon money reward remains constant. At least ectos/mats from salvages can be sold for more. I’m poor IRL atm though so grind away I will :P

They’re everywhere. Earlier my bf got the harpy fractal and the guardian in the party refused to use reflects because he insisted that he was a ‘support’ guardian and so therefore could not change his utilities. These are the people who breathe through their mouths I swear to god.

We need dredges that follow you the entire map and comes out from the walls like ghost before and after being killed… and a clown car that becomes a ghost clown car after being defeated(condition dmg only)

Which then explodes into multiple lesser oozes which then collapse into giant pools of water which the player then has to dive into and fight against the HOTW end bosses, which are then replaced by aetherblade mobs who are upset that you killed their Sons of Svanir friends. After all of this a total of 1 copper is awarded per final enemy slain to make it worthwhile killing them. Anyone who skips this trash mob fight will be subject to banning as not killing these mobs is against how the game was intended to be played.

4-6 months? That is generous. Most MMO players seem to eat through content quickly. Although GW1: Factions was not an expansion but another game release, it only took about 2-3 weeks to get through the content.

Here is exhibit one. He has yet to say anything to support his game changing opinions. So it is with great pleasure that everyone has had a ball with him tonight.

Many people live in their own little bubbles of thought and they never leave them. Usually that’s fine, until they decide that their bubble of thought is worth something more, that their idea of how the game should be is on greater footing to the thoughts of other people. When this bubble of thought cannot be backed up by evidence or rational argument past ’it’s what i think is right’ it becomes very problematic for this person then, to try and force their ideals onto other people. They risk looking foolish and can fall victim to emotional episodes.

The lesson today ladies and gents is this. If you have a problem and you feel that the game should be drastically changed to suit your bubble of thought, back your skritt up with rational reasoning and sound arguments otherwise prepare to get fried.

Bunker- fine for wvw, excellent for spvp.

I have played bunker guard in spvp and it’s been a great experience. I suggest you go for a build that doesn’t rely on AH, because the main role of spvp guardian is to support the team. Of course you can try AH if you are just starting out.
The virtue line is imo one of the strongest trait lines for helping out yourself and your team. For Spvp I suggest aiming for pure of voice (honor line) for condi cleansing shouts, and when going down virtues pick traits that can give you stability and condi cleanse on use of specific virtues. One of your main jobs apart from cleansing and staying alive is to provide stability for people/yourself to stomp during heated group fights. You may also want to keep an eye out for a trait called Resolute Healer down the Honor line that causes a knock back to anyone around you when you go in to res your team mates because it will interrupt the enemy attempting to stomp.

For dungeons: Bunker is usually a bad idea.

You’ll be wanting a more dps/group support oriented build for dungeons with around 25 points down virtues for support (longer consecrations (purging flames, hallowed ground, wall of reflection and in some cases sanctuary) + condition cleanse virtue of resolve traits) and some pts down radiance for constant might vauln and blind spam off Virtue of Justice to mitigate damage to you and your party

It has a few different build choices to pick from depending on how comfortable you are. I recommend you try the Max Utility build of 4/5/0/0/5

Unfortunatley there is no one build that can go across all 3 game modes and be optimum, but fortunately it/s very easy to get gear and swap up traits for whichever mode you are doing.

Why should I, as a RANGER be forced to stand in melee range with my LONGbow? It’s called *long*bow for a reason, it’s because it’s meant to be used at long range. I can understand that my bear pet needs to melee, but that doesn’t mean I have to. Seriously sick of the elitism that is rife in dungeon parties these days, the community has really gone downhill.

Back at release I never had trouble getting into groups but now it’s just stupid. They don’t care about me at all, and I’ve had enough. When they’re all on the ground complaining about not enough dps, I’m the last one standing and I alone am ressing them. I have been standing outside of the stack every time and playing as the game was intended and what thanks do I get? A swift kick. Now I understand that there’s a ‘meta’ now, so yes, I have adapted.

I now use a whiptail devourer for the pet because everybody dislikes bears so much. I have really gone the distance to satisfy people here while still staying true to what my class is supposed to be. I even used Search and rescue to res people when their stack dies. I have done nothing but play for the sake of other people since day 1 but nobody care, they are all incredibly selfish. Enough is enough, Arena Net has to make the changes because I’m done making changes to my game play for the sake of other people.

You can actually provide more support with meta build I have listed than the ‘shout’ build. This is because in this game, killing things faster leads to less bad things happening to your group, while you can still provide cleanses, blinds and boons such as stability, aegises etc. along with reflects. Take it from someone who has run both builds for thousands of hours. Look at the link I have provided and spend some time thinking about how it works. I cannot agree more with what Keksmuffin has said. I’m sorry but really, you shouldn’t even bother asking for advice if at the end of the day it’s going to come down to your ‘feelings’.

Look, Guild Wars 2 is an ARPG: adaptability and evasion should be king. If you don’t understand how everyone exploiting the system by huddling in a corner breaks this, then I don’t even know what to tell you.

The whole irony of this is the diehard stackers tend to be the ones that I’m having to peel off the dungeon floor because they haven’t learned what x or y mob actually does.
