But now the good part. Once Nike went public with his initiative, he was met by disagreement from the community. Also, Weth made a proposal for a better initiative. I am sure that Nike wanted what is best for the community of course. But I am not sure why Nike argued as much as he could against the will of the community, why he used dishonest political language and why he antagonised people. I am not sure why he changed his prototype record page to a page where he openly insults Weth and rT.

I think we can all agree that a responsible guild leader who cares about the health of the community would have seen the advantages of Weth’s proposal and therefore he would have promptly moved to support the better alternative.

Obviously this is not what happened, but luckily the will of the community prevailed in the end.

Still, we can all see how frustrated some DnT members are since those events. Just read the weekly discussion threads, it is breath taking.

My original intention was to create a warrior build that didn’t strictly follow the meta but was able to perform effectively in dungeons.

Personally I would like to see more variety in builds for each class but it’s hard to rationalise much change because alot of what there is to offer in the ways of different traits and utils just isn’t very relevant to what’s needed in dungeons.

Using a ranged weapon on mai trin is a bad idea.

Using a melee weapon and then running in circles at 15% hp for almost the whole fight is worse. Apparently you share the mindset with the guy I described (and had the “pleasure” running this exact fractal with). The Ele we had in the same group was using d/d, with pretty much the same result. Dead people don’t do dps, and people who have to pick up your worthless body from the ground don’t do either.

I’d give some more explanation but I’m about to go out. Should be easy enough to work out though.

In dungeons, the time you spend building up condis is not worthwhile vs direct damage given how fast bosses die. Personally I think it’d be great to see more variety, where there’s more choice but as it stands atm zerk is still going to be the most suitable.

I am however quite happy about the new meta build including a torch and getting to throw it multiple times due to the trait, it’s a refreshing change for a weapon seldom used before the patch.

Here’s a complete build guide for you OP, it contains all you need for the berserker guardian build in dungeons/PvE. It is the most effective build for dungeons.

I recommend you aim for scholar runes and Night/Force sigils for your first set. Subsequent sets can have x Slaying sigils for daytime dungeons.

Your weapon sets are a good choice, also consider trying out torch instead of focus for increased damage.

Acquiring gear:
As for where to get berserker gear I recommend an easy way which is to do these dungeons listed easiest to hardest:

• Citadel of Flame
• Crucible of Eternity
• Arah

Turn in their tokens for berserker stat gear from the dungeon token merchant in Lion’s Arch, be sure to select the correct stats.

When considering Ascended gear, start off with exotic and then aim to get ascended Accessories > Weapons > Armor. These can be acquired via:

I have yet to find a pug that understands what pathing is. It’s only understood in filthy guildmate and dungeon forum cliques. I am doing my best to spread the word of pathing to the masses.

Trait lines, especially the new symbol trait make mace surpass sword in dps. Mace vs sword before the patch was already very close.

Wish these ‘dungeon’ (lol what are dungeons) players would just go away. They’ve been ruining immersion for everybody from day one. The only reason they even get a subforum is because Arena Net has a humorous side and now a bunch of people have taken them actually waaaay too seriously and now we’re stuck with people who think there are dungeons in this game. Hah. Ridiculous. kitten off.

I paid for the game with money. That’s it.

You can make child like characters in other games. Never seemed to be a problem in the ones I have played. Think the main reason you wouldn’t get it here is because it’s extra work that’s probably not worthwhile. And then the complaints roll in.

Forget about the base game inclusion, it’s 50 bucks regardless

What you should really be considering is if the expansion itself is worth your money.
Given the information so far I am of the mind that it is not worth 50 dollars.

I am happy to wait and see what is actually in this expansion before spending the money as it is my personal impression that this is more of a giant feature patch with some maps thrown in than a large content inclusive expansion that I would feel happy with.

However, as a friend put it, I’ve been playing this game since beta pretty hardcore, it’s not whether I will buy the expansion but when. It’ll happen. I’m comfortable with missing out on a character slot from pre-order to see where this goes, are you?

Yesterday I jumped in a zerk only pug party cuz I was bored and the person who started the group was running what had to be “dungeon tank\healing support shouter”. This has happened a few times where the leader wants zerk only but is himself not really contributing, idk what’s going on there…

From a dungeon perspective I think we’re doing fine. Really enjoying the new Zephyr’s speed.

they used the guild for their own agenda and there are very, very few of them that actually give back to the community.

There’s even some that only go there so that they can get Dungeon Master title easily and then leave.

Maybe what’s in the wrong is not the Mentor’s dedication, but rather the abuse from the others.

so i basically sold everything of value to guy a char slot. made a ranger but I only had about 7gold to gear him out so I could go into dungeons. Technically 2 but I sold most of the food I had collected over the years.

Had to grab Rare sin gear because even Zerk was still to much Runed it with Runes of rage.

Did a lowbie dungeon. Someone failed a run then I realised everyone still had 2 mins of Fury. Im enjoying ranger. The sword auto attack isnt as bad as I recall. overall i like the ranger :P

this balance patch throwing all game modes out of whack with ungodly damage output, skills with an accidental removal of the aoe cap and massive condition bombing clearly demonstrates this

It’s a really missed oppertunity imo, mounts are always the best selling cash shop items in any game, they could be making a lot more money with this.

WoW, I always see tons of people with the new $25 mount when it comes out, that’s half the price of the expansion, if they sold more of those maby HoT wouldn’t of had to be $50 bucks…

Meanwhile, Anet release a pair of white wings for a back piece on Tuesday. Judging by the vast number of people I see wearing the white wings, I’d say Anet made a good chunk of money that day. Same thing happened when the black wings came out. Any anytime there’s a new outfit, people are buying those up, especially if it’s a good outfit.

Pretty much. People even buy virtual rocks. Why bother making real mounts and things that take effort when you can sell reskinned items and pet rocks. -_-

With 4 rangers + 1 warrior, 5 + 4 + 4*5 + 5*2 = 39 targets (5 players, 4 pets, 20 spirits, 10 embers + ogre pets), ~20 burning stacks per target ~ 750 burning stacks should be possible.
