7/10 I like it, sounds perfect for your description of him.
Jam the Bam, human warrior, slightly mental, likes hitting things, name says it all really.
I usually have an off hand axe and it normally clips slightly with my face, and that doesn’t have a massive spike sticking out the back of it, probably my only concern about getting a destroyer axe.
Congrats, extremely jealous right now : P
Is it just me or is that some nasty clipping going on there?
OP I like the idea, personally a lfg tool would be great.
My char is Jam the Bam in game, and Im looking to do HotW and CM.
Give me the invites and Ill play.
Also all dungeons count as night, glows all the time : )
The Barbaric armour set that can be crafted has the same icons, presumably its the same set, if you just want it for looks you can get blue ones for just over a silver each off the TP.
The crystalline blade has the same skin as a precursor, that’s got to be rare if there’s a world drop.
I want the rit to be brought out in GW2, I loved that class.
Where about is the door? Is it in the basement? I don’t remember seeing that.
Do the butler path. Now, the door that brings you into the cellar after you defeat Seamus is the exact same door that will take you out of the basement in the asura path when you find all the golem parts. Seamus stands in that same room with the rifle and net turrets.
Cheers Ill look a bit more carefully next time I go in.
Think the reason I missed it was due to particle effect blindness from having 3 ele’s in a small space….
Thats not a dungeon one, that a expensive mystic forge one, I can’t find the recipe for it but the skin is a replica of the elementalist summon.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Conjured_Flame
Presumably its similar to the two below which are also ele summons:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mjolnir
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Volcanus
Go for some of the rarer weapons maybe? There are some being discovered on the mystic forge that are pretty sweet (you can get the skin of the ele summoned hammer), try collecting them?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge/Other_Items
Or if you have too much feel free to give it to me….
I agree, although I want the lodestones as well, there should be a fail timer, and some sort of consequence, maybe remove the corrupted weapon vendor and make the area become a corrupted camp or something, then there would always be plenty of corrupted to kill AND you can do the dragon event.
The axe or the hammer? The hammer is my target, but its going to be a long road, 250 lodestones at between 70 silver to 1 gold 20 silver is a lot….
I would imagine the axe will be similar.
OP have you thought about the destroyer axe? It should be cheaper.
http://www.gw2db.com/items/66821-knights-destroyer-axe#
Similar but prob not got the same particle effects.
That is the same skin as the lava axe you can get from an ele skill, it is craftable through the mystic forge, same as:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mjolnir
but it will be destroyer of molten lodestones and gift of fire? possibly, the recipe is around the forums somewhere.
I like it from a lore point of view, it would feel a bit wierd If I could just stroll into a bosses hideout or the Inquests secret lair, then again it is a bit annoying when it takes too long to do that stroll.
I would love a personal version of this, damage one, physical and condition, heals done etc, would make a really good tool for comparing builds, you dont have to tell others what you did, just make sure there are no percentage damage done stats so people can’t infer your damage.
Where about is the door? Is it in the basement? I don’t remember seeing that.

Just the ones I encountered last night, it did kinda work well, he played near me and i removed his conditions while he dps’d away, I did have to rez him a lot though…
Can I just point out what a lot of people seem to be missing here, dungeons are TEAM content, so whatever build you have is useless unless it fits in with the team and the dungeon, I prefer the healing shouts/soldier runes/hammer build because i love the control and protection and support it gives the team, which is great in certain dungeons and especially (common one this) when people struggle to remove enough conditions. Damage isn’t great but thats not the point.
If you have a crit build that provides enough survivability then fair enough but please remember the rest of your team, frankly the people defending signet build have used the word ‘I’ way too much, fantastic if you can keep up constant fury etc but I value being able to help my team more, If your team already has enough utility to cover you then go for it. Either way its about what the Team needs, not you.
They are simply Different builds with Diffferent purposes, not better ones.
(also to those who say haha my signet build lasted longer than the other warrior, you are missing the point, my cond. removal/control build means we both stay alive)
It’s funny that you think people in pug groups care about what anyone else in the group using. Which is what the OP is complaining about.
The solution as I already pointed out is to just not pug. Form your own coordinated groups. Problem solved.
Complaining on the forums about the “problem” is just an enormous waste of time because the people here probably already know the downsides to the build.
Which is exactly my point, if people in pugs dont care about anyone else then you are pretty much guaranteed to end up with glass cannon style builds all round, so if I come in with my support build then its only going to do some good. In fact I played AC last night and noone else seemed to have ANY form of condition removal on them, it was strange considering they must know about the 2 min posions and the necros stacking 6 conditions…
Anyway, Im not having a go at the OP, just the people defending their amazing signet builds when rarely do their arguments mention any bonus to the team, in fact there was one argument there saying why should they use FGJ when they can gain more dps using the signet, I just didn’t realise people were so narrow minded.
My guild hates AC, but I’m in a place with crappy net so AC is one of the few dungeons I can actually run, doesn’t require great reactions like CoE, so I often have to pug. And its fine having good dps along, makes it run faster, you just need to make sure the support is there too, and as I said most people go dps so I go support, all works out fine.
You probably want to find the trait that increases the longbow range to match the rifle if you are intending to use both.
Can’t really get much more comprehensive than that ^^^^^
I would add a bit more on just to get used to the game and find everything, if you want to do it just make sure you use the wiki plenty, everything is known on there so save yourself time and just look everything up straight away
Also make some friends, players are far more powerful than heroes so if you can get a few to help you will do things faster.

Hmm Im going to have to give this fight another go, I think the problem I always had is that I didn’t pay close enough attention to his animations, the corridor does make it pretty tricky to circle strafe though.
I have had issues with this guy too, how do other groups deal with him? there must be a way, I cant figure out how to control or mitigate his damage when everyone infront of hi is just bounced around.
Tips would be muchly sppreciated.
Would be nice if you dont need to get naked before jumping trough this
Or maybe they should add a feature that will automatically strip you naked. Like, the Naked Beam.
Now that is an awesome idea, or maybe it could teleport your armour to the other side. Gotta go retrieve it
I agree, I love the casual playstyle, makes life so much more relaxing
I Vote for Jormag!
I like skiing, an endless winter would be heaven : )
I do agree to a certain point, but proper exotic gear will always be better in a dungeon, if you need magic find buy some rare gear for open worlding with, its easily good enough for most situations.
Ive used the healing shouts build in all dungeons apart from Arah, i love it, I know the heals aren’t huge but thay have got me and the team out of a LOT of sticky situations, especially when the other classes have much lower HP than us.
Ive found the build to be quite tough generally but its like any build in a dungeon, its only going to work with intelligent movement to back it up.
The way to make it really shine is to use superior runes of the soldiers which have shouts remove conditions which is far more valuable than the heals. If you can stop the conditions in the first place then you have done far more for the groups survivability.
If you are looking for a rune that gives you a party wide buff the rune of the monk is probably your best bet, I use rune of the soldier because I use a shouts build, everything else is mainly self target only. Unless you use healing skills a lot as there are a few like
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_Balthazar
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_the_Centaur
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_Dwayna
that give aoe or party wide effects when you use a heal.

I am the same build as Sil above, works great in dungeons, I prefer to go Hammer as my main weapon though for the Kd’s and stuns in dungeons, with soldiers runes (shouts remove conditions), using full clerics gear and some utility stats in the rings etc.
For general PvE often use MF gear, but the stats i got for are power, cond damage, and healing. I prefer the sword main hand and axe/warhorn depending on where I am in offhand.
One reason warriors are great is simply that so much of the difficult to mitigate damage in this game comes in the form of stacked condition (think AC EXP necros who can get 6 different conditions on you and fear you), until the Soldier rune warrior comes along able to remove 4 conditions per 25 seconds from the whole party = massive reduction in incoming damage.
Personally I couldn’t believe it when I saw the soldier runes and thought of the possibilties.
I see your point OP but I would disagree, I love the idea of one time events from a gameplay point of view, world changing events give you good reason to explore more area or re explore old ones, it makes the world and the story much more interesting.
I probably won’t be able to join in on this one either despite it being good timing for me (UK) due to work commitments, but I don’t mind on on one condition:
They MUST also implement something to explain the changes from the point of view of someone like us who maybe can’t make the big event, I’m hoping they manage the best of both worlds. The worst would be to log in and find everything has changed for no apparent (to you character) reason.
I love when people jump in the wrong gap, then it gets you to the last jump and doubles back and kills you : P, cheeky trap leads people on.
Theres nothing quite like getting Neked as a way of getting to know each other.
I was thinking I want a zelda style dungeon with changing water levels and secret passages, proper puzzle dungeons and drop some of the crap mobs.
I love subject alpha, its the only boss fight I’ve done where I really need to be on my toes for the whole fight, though he could do with a slightly smaller health pool. The though of stacking might on him as well scares me.
About the new class you were suggesting:
I think you are looking for ‘Skirmisher’, although they typically had lighter armour I think that’s the play style you are looking for. Spear and shield, alternating between throwing and close combat. A Roman legionnaire also has a similar style, carrying 2 weapons, a throwing spear and a short sword, able to operate at 2 distances, before going back to ‘turtle’ mode.
In GW1 there was a class called the paragon who used a throwing spear and heavy armour (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Paragon), which is a similar idea so the class style is already in the lore but it was an elonian (nightfall expansion) class. The shout style of support play would need to be reworked to avoid being to similar to the warrior but the basic style is there. The paragon was Anets attempt at a hybrid support class similar to how all classes play in dungeons now.
Anyone else really enjoy little puzzles like this?
It took me 3 runs before I was doing it within 3 goes each time, I like this style of puzzle and think we could do with more in place of trash mobs which really don’t add much to the dungeon experience.
Maybe ones that don’t involve dying so much, not that that’s an issue if you remove your armour first (does produce some great screens though).
I play a warrior but I wouldn’t say its sought after, like any class they can be built to be extremely helpful, and I think its easier to see how so they tend to be better at support more often, then gain there are so many glass cannons running around you never know.
Guardians on the other hand always make me feel better going into a dungeon
As long as you have a build set up for party support and not just solo play and can describe and demonstrate this then you will always be welcome.
Personally I like having an ele along because a good one who can manage his attunements can be incredibly effective. The same applies to necros, and I have played with some great mesmers.
Not sure if this counts as a bug, just wondering if the Devs have noticed that if I search ‘Guild Wars 2 Forum’ in google (UK) the official forums aren’t even on the first page of google searches, GW2DB, guru, unofficial etc forums are all above the official ones in search rankings.
Just think the official forums should be available easily if people are looking to chat about the game. Some google search tinkering required.
If this was to happen I think it would require a system that showed your true armour class in PvP, you say you can rcognise it from skills but you shouldnt have to wait for you opponant to have played out several skills at you before having any idea what they are, and if there are 5 of them? which on is which? How can you concentrate fire on one class when they all look the same (you know this would be abused). Lotro had a cosmetic armour system which let you do this but it would only show your true armour in PvP which was better.
Though I would like to make my rifle warrior to look like a samurai or a pirate, you can’t beat a pirate, especially with my pirate runes making me shout ‘yarr’ and summon parrots…
I knew there was something else I had missed, that’s, it achieves the same purpose though.
Have you realised that each dungeon boss or challenge counts as an event, you will do most of them in one run of AC, which is easy, nets you tokens, quite a few enemy types and your karma and xp.
Easy way, apart from the gathering bit, of gaining lot of rewards in a very short time.
In GW1 there was a few missions in which you could ‘infuse’ your armour with spectral essence which would protect you from the skill which the enemies from that point on in the story used, which did a ridiculous amount of damage. The idea being that you had to have all your armour pieces infused to continue or do certain other missions. This acted as a form of progression gate or marker. Note: one infusion worked on all pieces you were wearing, it didnt require multiple runs.
Guild Wars 2 does not have a gear grind, we don’t want one, its all about looks, guild wars 1 was, this game should stay the same.
BUT we could still have some form of progression end game, for example using a style like that above which means you must have completed a certain challenge to gain an item or effect which would allow you to survive/fight the next dungeon/boss. Each successive one would be harder than the last, spread all over tyria. You are free to try the fight/dungeon but chances are you wont survive without the item/effect.
This special thing could require clues to figure out etc, but the point is this form of progression would provide an endgame continuation without the whole ‘must have gear x to complete dungeon y’ grind which is always tedious, just give us a Challenge progression.
This would mean that there would be a form of elite dungeon or challenge for people to work towards which simply requires an entry requirement, and gives people an aim at 80 that isn’t grindy (I dont like grinds, can you tell…).
The one thing that keeps people hooked is a challenge.
Let me know what you think and anything that could improve it.
I like all this if it happens, though I do agree the soldier idea is too similar to a warrior, a new weapon on the other hand would be awesome. Spear/pike kind of weapon with skills maybe somewhere between the hammer and greatsword for the warrior would be cool, also i just want to look like Im from 300…
My idea for another heavy armour class was a Warmage, a semi caster class which can only self target with skills, a heavy armour user which supplements its natural strength with magic, a cross between the Guradian and Ele, similar in operation to the attunements from the ele but up close all the time. A class which would work very much in modes of play, the old Mana bar could make a return for this, attunements are only active while Mana lasts meaning it would be about timing and energy management but if you run out you are still a big dude with an axe.
Im a bit dubious about the tengu just because the in game models I have seen so far are so rough.
The flame legion headquarters would be cool, similar to the Flame temple Corridor from GW1, I loved that area and the story to go with it, maybe the devastated look from the first game with an overlay of snow and ice, and pockets of new growth. The idea of a forest region would be awesome, about the only kind of area missing so far is a dense forest.
