I saw a forum post somewhere that mentioned that they are taking the pick out and putting both an axe and a sickle in.
Not sure why they feel the need to remove the pick though.
I hate RNG when it comes to stuff like this, I bought 20ish black lion keys and got nothing.
Then typically I got one for a daily and got the flame and frost weapon skin.
Human Warrior Definitely.
Saying that, my main is human war. Guess im boring then : P.
2500 HOURS!? in one game?
Wow. Just wow.
Since the game has been out roughly 8.5 months.
8.5 × 30 days = 255 days
2500/255 = 9.8 hours every day since launch. You sir need to go outside for a bit.
That’s a bad idea, this player is one of those people that keep the population high in games, you cant send him outside….Think of the population!!!
I salute you Son Of Suns.6593
Oh it and seems you found the endgame content, yeah I said it that’s right. All the epic … things you can do late game, full of content and excitement / purpose.
Dude he needs to get outside for his own good, the game will survive, let him explore the great outdoors and see the great big ball of fire in the sky, let him feel fresh air, and maybe if he’s really lucky he could see one of the mystical ‘females’ on his travels.

I love that bandit camp, can be a bit hectic but its fun and other people will usually join in anyway if they see one person tackling it. The mobs are’t that close together anyway, theres easily enough space to make sure you fight no more than 2 at a time.
Lol that looks like fun, may have to find that one.
Could be deliberate as a way of forcing the Meta event as a whole to progress instead of being halted in its tracks.
Looks awesome, those are the 2 legendaries I would have gone for. Gratz.
There’s a difference between
‘go into that field and kill 10 random rats in a field full of them’
and
‘there are 10 prisoners trapped in there. rescue them’
Yes you can, a dev stated in another thread that as the ticket actually summons the correct vendor it does not require the story to be active so you can use it whenever you want.
There is another thread asking the same question, a dev answered saying that as the ticket spawns the correct vendor the flame and frost story is not required to be active so you can use them as late as you want.
Thanks Lunasun, that sounds about perfect, Ill get in touch with you as soon as I get online, I am mid 20’s in age and reasonably mature but willing to have a laugh.
The guild I was in before kinda died off and Ive been on playing pretty much alone recently and was looking to find some people to wander this big world with.
Ill be in touch.
Looking for an active guild to play with in the 6-10GMT timezone on a EU server. Happy to transfer.
I like any form of content, generally a PvE player but happy to do anything.
I am particularly looking for a guild to do guild missions with.
To be honest I like the dragons, especially in this form as hugely powerful beings, not just the fact that they are big and scary, they all have some form of corrupting influence on the world around them, that’s the bit that makes them interesting.
I very much enjoyed the GW1 story, but let the devs expand the living story, and we should see some interesting enemies. I did like how the Flame and Frost story, where (I assume) the power used is drawn from the elder dragon Primordious, at least for the flame bit as the Flame legion are involved.
I like the idea, the ability to ‘upgrade’ some of the world encounters if you feel you have a strong enough group would be awesome.
It would be good if it was an open world one as well instead of turning it into a Raid, then if loads of people are standing around you can make it a properly difficult fight.
x per faction x, did it ever occur to you that most people are not ‘dungeon runners’. I don’t want to grind dungeons, so if its too easy for someone who spends their whole time running dungeons then its probably about right for people like me who just like playing casually.
I didn’t find it hugely difficult, but that meant I could pug it without getting frustrated.
What they need for people like you is a hard mode I think, let me run the easy one for fun and you can run something with a real challenge.
If the dungeon is anywhere near as fun as the Flame and Frost one then Ill be first in line for it.
I’m glad they are adding content here, as I missed the big event to open the place there really hasn’t been any other incentive for me to go there so I’ve barely explored it, looking forward to having a reason to go play there.
I missed the cursed shores patch but to be honest I think these are pretty cool, and any exotic reward is always good. Although they are always going to suit heavy armour wearers better.
The Illusionary leap clone summoned by a mesmer when using a main hand sword often bugs out mid leap, normally when used on a gradient, it will get stuck half way or right next to my character then stop and have to run to the target.
Not sure if this is being worked on or not but its a pretty major drawback when you can’t rely on your main mobility skill while using a weapon.
I’ve stopped relying on my main hand sword because of this. Ill put a thread in the bug forums, assuming there isn’t already one.
Does anyone else find that illusionary leap regularly bug on the ground in front of you when there is any kind of gradient to the ground?
Its quite annoying, has it been brought up as a bug before?
I would love to fight the Lich again. And the great destroyer.
it would be legit….i believe the Lich fight…which actually had mechanics to it….would be the best fit for the gw2 boss fights
Yep the teleporting around and the lava etc made this quite interesting. i enjoyed it at the time.
To be honest even one of the earlier missions that explains some of the history of Ascalon would be great, like one of the missions on the great Northern wall.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Nolani_Academy
Or one of the chosen and white mantle missions.
It was fun, and interesting, I earned about 1G 50S from it as well, which as far as I’m concerned made it well worth my time. Plus the exotic gloves with the unique skin you can earn from completing it. What more do people want?
I think this dungeon was set about the perfect level for a story mode dungeon, was interesting but not stressful, which is how I would expect the ‘easy’ mode of a dungeon to run.
If people found it easy then good for you, some people didn’t, which means it was pitched about the right difficulty for everyone for a time limited dungeon that’s meant to be a bit of fun, not the greatest challenge ever.
I for one really enjoyed it, although Ive only run it once, you could recover fairly easily from mistakes and the mechanics were straightforward but fun, meant I came out of a dungeon without tense shoulders for once.
Also if the people who are complaining about never having to move want a bit more of a challenge then take a melee character in like I did (no idea where my warriors bow went), makes things a bit more interesting, but by no means too hard.
I don’t know if this will help but when i was looking for it last night (I got some help and completed it) I found the last dirt covered object on TOP of a rock shown on the dulfy site, this made it pretty hard to spot from the ground until I jumped up there for a DE. Its pretty well hidden.
Its the one to the West of the town.
Beware though, they reset with the server, so just keep looking, you will find it eventually.
I melee’d the whole thing, then again I am playing a shout healing warrior so I am pretty resilient. You just need to spot the tells and get your timing right.
Anyway I was reading this because my second is a mesmer and I was wondering about trying to take it into the dungeon.
What about the skill that summons 2 clones? Don’t they summon right next to the target?
I loved all the prisoners you save, they would all help rez you, and there was about 8 of them doing it together at one point, almost impossible to wipe with that much support.
I would love to fight the Lich again. And the great destroyer.
The azurite add ons are a chance to drop when you mine the ore in the dungeon during the tunnelling bit, and often the loot dropped there has sentinel runes which you can salvage off, I also got an exotic sentinels drop from the final chest.
As far as I can tell though they are going to be limited time only though if you want the stats.
Ive only run it once but as far as I could tell they were vulnerable once taken outside of the ring, all we did if he dropped the fiery ring was back off until the whole party was a good distance away and continue the fight there. Seemed to work.
Generally once we got used to the mechanics we found you could focus them down before they got the ring up if you target them first. Made the fights faster.
Well I for one love the dungeons, if you don;t like them then don’t do them.
It is an MMO, designed for multiplayer experiences.
If you feel uncomfortable playing with other people why are you not playing a a multiplayer coop game?
Just a quick topic to say how much I enjoyed the dungeon from the Flame and Frost final section.
I loved how you were broken into the mechanics early and slowly.
It was a comfortable length.
The bosses had fun mechanics, were a nice balance of difficulty, and Interesting to fight.
Also they looked kitten Cool : ).
Glad Im not the only one who thought of this when i read this thread:
Now that would be fun.
I use axe/warhorn and have enjoyed using axe/mace aswell, its a good combination if you are focusing on power as the axe does high consistent damage and crits and a utility offhand like the mace for stuns or the warhorn for mobility works great.
I love this idea, its pretty close to what I imagined Orr would be like when they first advertised the area.
Have you put this in the suggestions forum?
If you are going one handed weapons I would suggest you swap out your second one for either warhorn or mace, the warhorn can boost your movement speed and you endurance regen regularly, both of which are great for helping keep your group alive, the mace can offer stuns, again also useful as a stun or interrupt on bigger baddies.
As Nashaan says, just keep moving, war offers great mobility so just make sure you are not in the way of any attacks. My usual aim is to be behind every mob. I switch between a hammer or axe/warhorn and a rifle for dungeon runs and am usually fairly sturdy with a similar set up to yours OP. I use toughness/healing stats on armour with signet of healing, and in fact ive just changed to rampagers jewellery to add a bit more dps.
Im not using any run speed skills or buffs, just got stuck in slo mo, for a good 20 minutes as well until I relogged.
Artereis, we are both mesmers, I also used the greatsword but my other weapons are sword/pistol. They could be the common causes? Though I have a supsicion its more of a mesmer thing.
I play a lvl 22 mesmer, when Im in the Tixx instances, quite early on, not long after carrying the presents, I get stuck running very slowly, possibly the same speed as you move when carrying stuff, if that does slow you down.
Needless to say this makes the instance quite a lot harder when there is no way to out run or manoeuvre around enemies, especially the toy mortars bit where im not moving fast enough to run out the circle in time so quickly run out of dodges. I still complete the instance though.
I cant remember but I have a memory of this happening in the game world somewhere too.
To be honest in general PvE you wont really notice the difference, are you looking to run dungeons etc?
My favourite, since I hate the greatsword, is axe and warhorn for PvE running around, axe is good high dps with some fun sigils on the weapons (fire and air), high crit chance (rampagers) and signet of precision, with the warhorn adding loads of mobility (can manage perma speed with warhorn and signet of rage). Add whatever utility suits you and Just rocket around throwing flame blasts and lightning strikes at everything : ).
Unfortunately I think you can only get 2 through playing the game, you dont gain enough materials per run to make a mini each day, so you need to pick which ones to make.
I might be the only one in the game but I like how these places are connected to the world outside, I don’t think you should be able to just stroll into the evil dudes base, the DE’s make it feel like you are actually deep in their territory.
I don’t have a farming mindset so I dont know what its like to try and do it super fast every 20minutes though.
Its the same for all weapons:
Cleric’s Destroyer Sword of Rage
Cleric = Main stats applied to weapon, in this case, power, toughness, healing.
Destroyer = Skin
Sword = weapon type
Rage = Sigil/Mod applied to weapon
Pretty much all weapons will follow the above format, so if you are looking at 2 weapons that have the same precursor then the stats will be identical, unless they have a sigil attached which will be shown as the ‘of whatever’ part.
The destroyer and pearl weapons are the top tier crafted weapons so they are the only lvl 80 ones you will see on the tp without sigils already attached, with the destroyer skin looking cooler and costing more to make so therefore being more valuable and rarer.
Maybe the problem is the fact that they are not meant to be soloed?
I was just about to make the same post, forgot about the 7th piece too. Oops.
I know the chance to do ‘whatever’ on crit’s stacks multiplicatively. So if you have 2 * 30% chance to trigger flame blast on critical on dual weapons it doesn’t stack to 60%, it stacks to 51% I think. Correct my maths if I’m wrong but its been brought up in a few threads before.
Jam is a cute nickname as it stands on its own. However the rest feels forced. Understandable with people taking names though! So 6/10!
Just realised I should explain that Bam is scottish slang for nutcase.
Cheaper versions can be found in Fireheart rise off Charr Hearts
Also works nicely with the shout that removes a party wide condition because it now removes 2 : )
