At one time or another everyone is a pug. What does pug mean? Pick up group. Why we label random people as a random pick up group is beyond me. However, it does sound cute when ppl start calling each other puggles… I hate those dogs btw.. Anyway, in society 2 is a couple, 3 is a crowd, 4 is a group, 5 is a gang by municipal standards and if you are traveling in a group in said size you can get ticketed…at least where I grew up, it was kitten

In our gaming terms to cut things short, when you have 4+ you could consider yourself a guilded group. Anything less than that, consider yourself a pug, even if you are a leader of some self-proclaimed prestigious guild.

So, you are all pugs, get over yourselves. We have formed our guilds and groups of random people that we have met over time, just because we wear a kitten tag doesn’t make us gods. We are all Pick up Groups.

I was watching pugs lead by competent commanders grinding entire guild group strategies to a halt. The only advantage guilds have over pugs is VOIP.

I literally could not disagree with this more if you had put it in an SS uniform kicking a puppy.

We don’t have pugs on JQ, we have a community of players with a community TS. In WvW its like having one big guild. Honestly Coron, you should come and experience it. Why don’t you transfer for a week and holiday over here. I am sure your guild will be able to manage without you for a week

What is SF’s normal play time?

Our team is international, so you will see tags from EU prime to Aussie prime. The US prime team sill stir until about 8pm CST. That’s typically when I finally decide it’s time to stop doing PvE or home related items.

Usually guilds like to focus fire us because we love our open field combat. It’s quite personally my most favorite part of the game. If these pesky walls and gates wouldn’t get in the way, things would be much faster for more funs!!

Good welcome back to WvW this evening. As for any kitten talk, that’s all bleh to me and I skim most of those posts for any positive notes out there. As usual, any SBI kittening about dropping tiers or coverage, please stop you annoy a lot of your servermates and promote negativity. Kind of being counter productive to the whole pulling of new guilds in to our server thing.

Anyway, in lighter news I got to play against my old servermates CDS and against two guilds I can recognize as some pretty solid teams, that being Choo and Fear. From the reports of what I heard about you guys I made sure we brought more of our A game this evening. You all bring a hell of a fight to the table.

Awesome Fights Friday and Saturday, props to SoS and SBI for the effort and tactics,
logged on Sunday and was incredibly disappointed…..

Is there an SoS/SBI alliance? I know it wouldnt be 100% but i was VERY disturbed to come to several points (especially supply camps) where both SoS AND SBI where set up with siege, all though not attacking each other, simply waiting for JQ. And by set up with siege I mean SoS and SBI set up with Ballistas and Arrow Carts just a few feet from each other.

Instances of this happened multiple times on JQ, EB, and SBI, and though I didnt play on SoS today, I was told it happened there too.

There were also instances of SoS coming to defend an SBI owned tower and then leaving as soon as JQ’s force was wiped.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but there seemed to be a LOT of cross-server coordination today and it really killed a promising night of WvW.

I would love to hear what some SoS or SBI kid’s think about this and would HOPE that the large guilds on SoS and SBI are willing to take a stand against it. If you’re really T1 material, you dont need to team up to take us out

Only mostly seen SoS on SBI BL, my interaction with JQ has been limited aside from the teams that take a run on SBI BL for a bit then relocate to a powerhouse map of theirs, being their home map.

@Profgast, “SF from SBI, frag it Jed, one of these days I’m actually gonna catch your golem rush on the scoutdar and stop it before it gets too far. See if I don’t.” We’ll see, I’ve been less golem rushes so the team has to work harder for what they take I don’t want to do the same thing over and over, hell, we might even start using portal bombs again! Something we haven’t really utilized in like 5 weeks, kinda forgot we had mesmers willing to still play their mesmers.

@SoS and JQ, I enjoyed the fights as usual, I’m not a guy that plays for score, unless it’s like ladder ranking for my team. Unfortunately this isn’t engineered like that and I don’t want to stress over a ppt I ultimately can’t control, unless I recruit in all timezones over the world work in progress All of your teams collectively fight hard and bring it, I love it, if it wasn’t for your teams out there I wouldn’t have as much enjoyment in this game. We enjoy doing a lot of hand to hand combat and you guys get out there with us, it’s fun as hell. WvW has not gotten old for my team to say the least. You help us get creative in our tactics and creative in our open field tactics, this is what the game is all about for me personally. Thank you for keeping it enjoyable.

@SBI going to T2, I think you will have to bust tail even harder to get us down to T2. We have some stubborn teams. Oh and we’re doing the thing where we turn PvE guilds in to WvW guilds and giving them tours of the facilities, let’s see if we pull more in to WvW

It would appear that I didn’t have enough time on SoS BL today before I went to SBI BL to flip that kitten hills keep!!! Although I think handing Bay to JQ on a silver platter was quite amusing before venturing off to the land of OZ.

Good fights on SBI BL all round, at least for me.

@accusations tossed at JQ for exploitation, I have personally visited their site when I needed to and stated what proof I had of any exploits to make them aware. I still have a couple team lead contacts in JQ to communicate such things.

When you bring these to ppls attention, it’s just a matter of how you approach the situation. Going at someone in a ball of fire over one bad apple makes you look like an irate child. This goes out to anyone and everyone bringing these issues up to other servers. If you carry yourself in a professional manner on said topics, you’ll be taken more seriously and will probably get things accomplished with greater ease.

@SoS having lower coverage during these holiday seasons, LOL.

@JQ/SBI hate for each other, yeah…that probably will never go away… Our servers have been fighting one another since day 1 with a 1 week break from both servers a piece from T1.

I admit JQ may have the upper hand this week as SBI spy Profitsports who xferred here since WM moved to Kaineng drains our supplies from our keeps and SMC.

Profit is not a representative of any team in SBI, or in contact with any of us.

Currently we are looking to boost the activity level all round for SBI. If you are in Tier 1 and are on an opposite server, you may have found that there has been a decline of WvW activity from our neck of the woods for the last month or so. I would like to see if we can liven things up a bit and get some extra numbers in all timezones out there.

Consolidation of coverage:
There have been inner workings that are slowly but surely going back in a more positive direction. One of these items is simply using a calendar to get the overall guild schedule down. We are not looking to burn all WvW guilds out, we are just looking to see when a team intends on being available for coverage. They don’t even have to sign up on a specific map, just the time/day is fine enough.

The current weakest times are EU and Oceanic. Currently we are seeking teams in all timezones to liven up competition for all servers and provide a higher grade of entertainment for everyone all round. Without each other populating our servers properly we will not be able to entertain each other. Without being able to kill some of you out there would take all the fun out of the game.

The officers of SF have banded together and would like to support more community members, please read the following

SF is willing to invest in SBI’s future

In an effort to help recruitment the SF treasury will support EU or Oceanic guilds of considerable size and determination who are willing to xfer to SBI. We will buy enough influence for them to rank up their guild on SBI pending an evaluation period where we can ascertain their commitment to and effect on SBI WvW.

If you stumble across a viable guild candidate put them in touch with Hoschi or Jedbacca to discuss. If holding your guild back from transferring is due to the need to level up your guild, we will do the best we can to assist in that department.

We have members farming up in dungeons to support the community and selling everything they earn in WvW and putting it toward siege or community building.

Strategies:
Per the norm we have guilds working together to always reverse engineer strategies utilized against us. As a Tier 1 server for so long we have seen a lot of interesting tactics utilized against us and have been successful at countering by reverse engineering. Our server enjoys high end tactics being utilized and being utilized against us.

Communication:
The main source of communication is our forums. A lot of our guilds are willing to work with each other on multiple voice comms and we do have a public voice comm as a centralized means of communication that is utilized on an ‘as needed’ basis.

Education:
We have a multitude of teams that are very open to assisting with players that are newer to WvW. As a GM myself I have taken plenty of players that have not stepped foot on a WvW BL and now screams at the screen shouting profanities as of someone stole his cookie dough running to kill pixels on a screen.

Community:
For the most part everyone is laid back. We frown upon exploiting, even to the point of advising commanders on other servers to assist us in reporting the bad apple. We are willing to work with other servers to keep our streets clean and safe from crime. I personally love the community and am willing to work with as many members of the community as possible. Everyone is very generous and are willing to go to bat for those guilds that cannot afford comm tags that are proven good leaders out there and bring each other up as a community. The communities focus is to mainly play for fun, yet get serious when we want to as well.

So like always SBI got 2v1ed. We were down to Veloka and our keep. While we were fighting JQ zerg in Veloka, the SoS zerg skip our keep and came attack us from behind. After killing most of us, SoS pulled back and let JQ finish the job.

I wasn’t there but its something I would do. Hit the team that is coming 2nd place. Especially since you’ve had that thief of yours constantly jumping the keep walls and flipping them. Seeing a SBI name tag just reminds me of him.

Props to StrikeForce (SF) because I believe they will not defend a tower he has flipped. I tip my hat to your sportsmanship.

Thank you sir, we do not promote any of that game play so much that we have actually relocated our whole team to different maps because of this. I want nothing near an SF tag that may give someone the thought that we play like that. We prefer proper kittening people, not backdooring with shady tactics.

This may sound stupid, but I’ve never fought a grub on EB. My time has been limited on EB, and have experienced it as every color… I don’t even know where this thing is.. I’m usually running around making people the opposite of alive..

I’d like to backup DiE on their legit gameplay. Chances are it is one person with that tag acting out of character. It happens to the best of us, the only thing we can do is help each other flush these “poisons” out of our clean teams out there. It’s already out there that many many many of us do not support bad gameplay. Even today we reported the hell out of an SBI guy that thinks it’s a great idea to glitch on purpose to “show” Anet. Well, he kinda got told by a whole map of people that, that’s not something this server does. Lot’s of frowny faces about it and I’m sure that guy left the map or might have been banned from getting reported over 50 times within 2 minutes??

SoS BL This evening:

One of my guildies found this out tonight and freaked out so bad that I think that my ears still have dried blood from my eardrums popping. She immediately hopped out of the tower because we don’t roll like that. A couple of pugs that were attacking the door somehow managed to go through as well by accident. Those guys were freaking out as well. It was a major siege on a gate with a ton of people, it was not on purpose.

Thanks to the commander from SoS that let me know immediately, those guys truly didn’t know wtf was going on. I know I reported it, I recommend everyone else doing the same. I noticed that the gate was Reinforced and at 25% if that has anything to do with it??

Oh and sorry for not following suit on the dance party that was meant for NE Garrison on SoS BL as well, we’ll try to coordinate that better next time
