It was tickets AND badges of honor… Not badges of honor only…

You end up fighting people on tradition wvw more often than on EotM because there will be people comming back to defend their points, oposed to the karma train mentality (Let them take, so we can retake) of EotM.

Reward-wise, EotM is much more profitable if that’s what you’re wondering.

Just because they don’t want to fight doesn’t mean you can’t kill them…

I get quite a lot of kills by having a superior AC set up on Workshop and a superior AC set up on Arid Fortress inner wall. If you have friends to man extra ACs, you can get more kills as you can down warriors/guardians which can usually ignore 1-2 ACs.

I don’t call having 30 people sitting in front of your spawn waiting for someone to come out fighting… Its more like a meatgrinder waiting for, well, the meat…

It might be fun for you to be spawncamped as you can just step out and and try to do somenthing, but it will be extremely boring to the server that will control everything…

Because being spawn-camped isn’t fun… And that’s what gonna happen when server’s with bigger population face servers with smaller population.

The colours are semi-random based on the RNG roll that happen on reset to set the matchups.

You still need one more before you can beat the 14 weeks straight for SF/ET/FC, EBay/AR/BP or BG/JQ/SoR.

As for HoD… the server had an average of 15-20 players on all maps all day Saturday. Orange swords and even a commander were somewhat unusual. I think they have returned to high Bronze populations.

Dude, if what you saying is true, your server will be sitting at my side in a few weeks… Because even high bronze can field more than that.

In my opinion the Mist Forged weapons should have been something for the winners. A unique item which says “Hey, we were number one!”. If everyone has it, it no longer is unique. Its more like “I did WvW for a bit, look what I got”.

But IT IS actually “I did WvW for a bit and look what i got”. You didn’t got in WvW and fought 9 weeks with servers that had the same ammount of people you had and won by pure skill, since the winners are nothing more than servers with superior coverage compared to all others (Except for JQ due the T1 2v1 thing).

You’ll still have extra tickets that you’ll be using on future seasons… The servers that ended last will not.

Also, WvW is about coverage and not skill. It’s not right to punish a server because it doesn’t have people to compete. This only promote server stacking which end up in servers collapsing when the goal is achieved (like HoD), turning WvW even more unbalanced than it’s already is.

Also, the top server now have access to 2 mistforged weapons, which is already somenthing extra for the “winner”.

Fighting for second is always easier, and everyone rather the easy path… Besides, why stop FA? Let them move to their T2 GvG heaven, since no one can opose them down on T3 and see if you can fight DB once it come down…

Dude… He meant that if you want easy karma just go to EotM. You can get crazy ammounts if you’re green (Overgrowth), since overgrowth always seens to have more people. But really any colour is good for it.

Also you can’t salvage the weapon, so don’t expect getting ectos from it.

When you have outnumbered on 3/4 maps in WvW and EotM all day, you know somenthing is really wrong.

Siege decay is important to prevent trolls as others have mentioned.

In addition, I’d like to see an individual player siege cap. No player should be able to have more than 5 siege deployed at one time on a cap. This is again to prevent the trolls. A individual should also be able to despawn siege that they deployed. That would allow a commander to despawn their flame rams after taking a tower.

But that would prevent a single player from decently sieging a keep too (Or sieging multiple towers)…

For Overlook for exemple I use 10 pieces of siege for inner and 8 for outer, making a total of 18 sieges to be placed… If I can only place 5, I would have to count with other people to do that, and it’s hard to find willingly players these days.

I guess extending superior and guild siege decay timers would make sense, it would be extremely expensive to constantly spam them to siege cap while keeping the regular stuff at the current timers.

Superiors aren’t all that expensive these days (If you actually MAKE them) but the troll would need to rack quite a few skill points to keep up the siege griefing.

Guild siege shoudn’t have decay, as they have no difference to superiors besides looking cool (Except for catas that need only 25 supplies).

Valley is by far the easiest to assault keep of the 3, and Lowlands is vulnerable from any of the 4 towers. One falls, trebs go up and walls go down.

WTF? Valley is much better than lowlands… Its compact, so you can cover it with very little siege. It’s perfect for defending with few people. The only issue on valley is that you can’t put a treb for watergate, but 3 superior ACs down there will melt any zerg.

See I don’t necessarily agree with this. In world cups, we see again and again surprise teams making their way to the top and sometimes even winning. The stakes and the excitement of getting to the next stage make people perform beyond their usual. I am sure of course the top realms will be forces to be reckoned with but it doesn’t mean the others will throw the towel.

The league system actually cause this early onset of fatigue with the end results becoming clear very early on. In a cup, anything can happen any time. People can rally their realms to perform beyond expectations..

I think there is a third way: put all your non char bound stuff into the bank, delete all your chars, transfer for free, start new chars.

Depending on the number of characters, this is the best option with the EotM endless Karma-Train… You can get back to 80 in no time…

Well, the bow and the bear are just because that’s my zerker scrubling ranger (PvE you know?). But the signets are part of the build. I need the buff from signet of the wild and signet of the hunt prior going on bear form.

I personally think Anet hate red, even tho it’s the colour of their logo. Arid Fortress in EotM is also the worst keep of the 3 colours…

Personally I’d give Overlook to Green, Valley to Red, and Lowlands to blue.

I think that Valley is a much easier keep to defend than Lowlands, and it can cover the back towers with quite ease.

While you have the advantage of holding the front towers from lowlands, if the enemy go straight for your keep, you’re likely to be in a huge trouble if you’re the weakest server (Outer lowlands is a pain to defend, as much as a contantly trebbed Overlook). I’d take being able to defend my keep over being able to hold 2 towers (Besides, QL can pretty much defend itself, so Durios is the only draw back from blue side).

Actually they are missing FA, who tanked got pushed to silver by DB getting their rating inflated by SoR’s collapse. Wagonbrand doesn’t belong to the “T2 GvG heaven”.

Anyways, my take on it would be that initially BoH dropped like candy from the EB JP chest. People were quick to get alts and mesmers portalling your alts to the chest. If you had a few alts you could get say 100 BoH a day for 30mins worth of work as well as get siege weapons etc. This was back when the chest was toon bound not account bound.

Since then we’ve had EotM K-Trains that give you heaps and if your on a high tier server you get a lot just because your fighting/killing more.

So there’s an abundance of BoH in the market and ANet want to control that because it will have an adverse affect on the market if BoH gets dumped on it.

Some people have Millions of Karma and Karma gear, while not salvageble, can be thrown in the forge… To not mention how easy it is to get Karma, as you can get it by doing PvE and/or WvW. Saying that having a lot of badges in the game is the reason that we can’t throw WvW gear in the forge is rather absurd…

all joking aside, you were probably blinded, or they had aegis/stability. most wvw roamers are smart enough to use that so they can stomp before a zerg roflstomps that area

Well, many people don’t expect a ranger to one-shot them, so they are rarely prepared (except guardians which always have aegis up before combat).

But you gotta admit that’s quite a feat for a bearbow ranger which is, by far, the most useless class+build for pvp in the game.

I beg you to differ… My full signet zerker bearbow can 1-shot a person every 3 minutes with Become the Bear #5 (Norn Racial). And this is only possible because it’s a ranger (this combo isn’t as effective with other classes).

Your downed skill 2 Daze (not knockdown) the target and should interupt the stomp unless the one stomping is under stability or any kind of invulnerability. (This applies to most professions downed skills: like warriors, rangers, guardians, engineers and necros)

Now about Ranger pets being kittened… Well, that an almost 2-year issue…

There is a 130 rating gap between Dragonbrand and Fort Aspenwood (6th and 7th respectively). RNG can bring you down to face the T3 servers, but you’ll be facing Maguuma and Sea of Sorrow for a while if this gap don’t get smaller…

Since it was Anarchy that teached me how to mesmer long ago, that’s the build I ended up working with. I decided to revive this topic now that I’m playing mesmer more seriously so I can get some opinions about it.

However, I did some changes to adapt it to my playstyle.

While Anarchy used Cavalier/Valkyrie/Knights/Berserker to get the most of Power, Precision, Toughness, Vitality and Ferocity, I decided to simply toss in Celestial as I will get all stats overall… While I get less power, I have some Condition Damage and Healing power that I belive to help (See below).

I don’t like staff… While it’s very good to have phase retreat and the AoE daze from Chaos Storm, I feel I’m not damaging my enemy enough with it so I swaped it for Greatsword. With GS, i have a knockback that can be used as AoE interrupt, I have a ranged attack that deal more damage the farther I am from my enemy and the iBerserker cripple is very good to kite enemies or catch up a fleeing one (Also only iDuelist seen to deal more damage than iBerserker).

Since I prefer playing more aggresively, I removed the 3 points on Chaos and put it on Illusions, so I get (III) Compounding Power which increase my damage by 3% per illusion active. I also get the benefit from the two minor traits Illusionary Retribution (All your shatter skills cause confusion) and Illusionist Celerity (Reduce the recharge on illusion summoning skill in 20%), which allow me to do some shatterings as all my iDuelist/Berserker and Clone (iLeap/Mirror Blade/Decoy) spells will have lowered cooldown and deal some extra damage with confusion (I have condition damage from Celestial gear oposed to Anarchy’s stat combo).

When I’m get in larger fights I change to a more suportive role. I drop the signet for MoP, so I can give my allies some healing while still doing some damage (I have healing power from the Celestial gear and MoP have 1s CD only, so I can kinda spam it) and I cast illusions for shattering to deal damage and add confusion, since I can’t rely on keeping phantasms alive.
