8% is deserved, but anything more would be to much. People asking for a bigger nerf are stupid. I have read many threads about this subject and I agree that Anet makes a good call on this one. ICD of 7s for cleansing ire would make us perfectly balanced. Like one of the most balanced classes there are.

You’ll notice 8% but not in such a degree that it will ruin builds. And please don’t compare single out heals with each other. There are a ton of different factors you need to take into account. So many I don’t even bother to list them unless requested.

I don’t think a cool down on cleansing ire is required, not all, but most adrenaline skills hard terribly difficult to land.

Again here we separate the bad players from the good ones. I land 80-90% of my eviscerates except when playing against a s/d thief. But ye that is obvious to why.

People complain about the hambow removing too many conditions and I agree. The longbow F1 is to easy to use and in teamfights you build adrenaline up so fast you can use that one and the hammer F1 on cooldown, meaning 6 conditions removed every 7s. That is a bit over the top and is why the hambow is so so strong in spvp. Removing 3 conditions every 7s would bring them more in line with the rest.

And F1 skills were never ment to be randomly spammed and assumed to hit. The burst skills are there to be carefully set up and worked to, so you could finish off your enemy. You can even hit every earthshaker if you wanted to, just count their dodges and know which invulnerability/evades/eagis/blocks they have. Kite those out and earthshake, do full combo and you’ll most likely finish them off.

Wow, funny! Actually you’re display the separation of bad players from the good ones! Because in order to land those moves you need adrenaline in your adrenaline bar! (I don’t know if you know that!)

And I said most adrenaline skills, not all.

I was looking at a thread that a moderator posted, and it said that they are proposing reducing healing signets effectiveness by 8%. It’s not set in stone but where the heck is that reasoning coming from? Reduce it by 8%? Are they just going for a nice even number? I really hope anet doesn’t make us a non-viable class in pvp again.

Oh gosh please. I wish there was a way to filter out the least skilled players from posting on this specific forum section.

You’re basically saying that a 180ish seconds cooldown ELITE skill shouldn’t kill you if you have 2 people currently attacking you? I don’t even play mesmer and I infact hate them, but that’s just nonsense. Not to mention that most good mesmers run cloak on pvp.

So you’re basically saying that the cooldown dictates whether or not a skill should be powerful enough to be a win button.

Awesome.

By your logic, I want an elite that has a 2 day cooldown so I can log on, win, and then leave with a false sense of accomplishment.

Mindless logic has no place in the balance forums….

Not saying Moa is OP or UP…but seriously…come on pal.

I’m confused as to why this is a thread lol. I’ve been playing mesmer since launch and no good mesmer will ever touch this elite. It’s easy to stop it from hitting and on top of that it’s just overall not very useful. Sure you can try to use it on bunkers, but you literally have to bait out everything (blocks, immunes, dodges, etc.) or try to cast it from stealth, which won’t go over well if the moa’s buddy shows up. Mass Invisibility and Time Warp are infinitely more useful in many more situations. Please don’t start threads about things you know very little about. It doesn’t make you seem very smart.

not here to impress anybody, it’s a thread, it’s an issue, even though some people disagree with me, a lot of people on here agree that this skill is broken, even if it isn’t because of the reasons I listed.

No I’m not “basically” saying that. I AM saying that a skill that leaves you 100% defenceless for a number of seconds is overpowered (see the suggestions I made). I don’t think you know what “good” mesmers run considering you don’t play mesmer?

These forums have become such a joke. Is it just a reflex now whenever a bad player dies they run straight to the forums to complain before figuring out how not to die.

Moa does not leave you “%100 defenseless”, infact its defenses are probably better than most classes in the game, #5 is a evade combined with a sprint that will get you halfway across the map, dodge rolling in moa form will also sprint you. You also have weakness on #4 and cripple on #2.

You should never die in moa unless you get chain immobilized by 2+ players, in which case you would have probably died anyway.

PS. No good mesmers run moa. So im assuming this complaining stems from hotjoin. In which case you need to just ‘Get Good’.

If I had to make 5 balance changes...

Those would be the following:

1. Thieves’ Shadow refuge is now a elite skill with 150 seconds cooldown.
2. Warrior’s healing signet nerfed to absolute oblivion.
3. Necro’s dhuumfire deleted.
4. Ele’s Blinding flash (scepter 3) cooldown increased to 15 from 10.
5. Mesmer’s flawed design completely reworked.

Obviously they would be buffed back in other areas in most cases.

Why do I feel that these need nerfs?

1. Shadow refuge doesn’t make sense as a normal utility skill. It brings too much to the board in terms of utility, offense and defense. Resets fights, provide healing, cancel stomps, allow easy revives, etc. It simply allows thieves to get away with a lot of things that they shouldn’t in the first place.
>>Make the stealth stack faster as an elite and increase the healing, maybe make it give protection too. It’s an ability that absolutely takes no skill or judgment on when to use at any time and has to go.

2. Off the top of my head, other 2 classes have signet abilities that provide healing under a certain circumstance. Elementalists have to cast abilities and thieves have to hit things. Warriors in the other hand don’t need to do anything, they get healed anyway. Not to mention that on top of warriors’ already high toughness and armor, the effective HP they regen is actually much higher when compared to thieves, eles, or any class with heal (oh warriors can also get regen on top of it!).
Just grossly overpowered. This skill needs to go right away.
>>Perhaps make the passive heal scale on adrenaline or something. Give it at least a condition needed for it to proc that way, just like eles and thieves do.

3. Necros have access to every single DoT condition in the game on top of cripple, chill, vulnerability, immobilize, weakness and the rare fear. I’ve never been aware of necros balance that much, all I knew is that they were subpar and then suddenly top tier. Surely dhuumfire wasn’t the cause I hope? I’ve read that they’re reworking it to put it on life blast, I hope that’s the case.

4. I love eles, but this is too much. The scepter, fresh air burst build lacks counterplay. Most if not all classes have a way of predicting enemy skill usage. You can dodge a mesmer’s berserker or a warrior’s bull’s rush, you can even somewhat predict a stealthed thief backstab attack to some point. Scepter eles however have a ridiculous and instant skill rotation (on a 5 seconds cooldown!) that makes it hard to predict appropiately, add in a spammable blind to reduce your counterplay chances even lower.
>>Give blinding flash some damage to compensate. I know it’s useful to blind mobs in pve without entering combat but it’s either that or nothing.

5. Mesmers… ahh mesmers. I feel sorry for the “skilled” mesmer players but here’s the truth: Your class is fundamentally broken. Before you say it, I don’t have a problem recognizing who’s the ‘real’ clone or dodging their most obvious skills. The issue here is that fighting them is just a pain. You gotta pay attention to over 5 different things at all times while fighting them, and it’s just one player. They can slowly whittle you down by being persistent, because the never ending stream of spammy clones and phantasms will surely outlast you in the long run. Add the myriad of stealth choices that they have for more frustrating gameplay and disengages at will (those are stun breakers too! all while their clones are mashing you with conditions).
In closing mesmers are the most obnoxious class in the game with very limited counterplay options especially in their condition builds. Destroying their clones is pointless because they generate more with ease due to traits / weapon skills, and because doing so also gets you swimming in conditions. Not destroying them still gets you spammed with conditions due to their autoattacks and now also with the constant risk of a shatter combo (not to mention that not all classes have enough aoe damage to get rid of them, namely necros, rangers and thieves), basically every second you spend getting rid of the clones, is 1 extra second that the real mesmer gets to fire free shots at you with no retaliation. Phantasms and their cooldowns that start as soon as they’re casted instead of starting when they’re destroyed. Built in stun breakers in weapon skills… sigh. A terribly designed class with an overloaded kit in terms of defense, offense and utility.

I hope they get nerfed.

I feel that every class on your list besides the mesmer doesn’t really have any other choice to be effective while not running those skills. I’m sorry but I think the only valid point you made is about the mesmer. I agree that it takes little to no skill at all to play mesmer because most of the fight is playing cat and mouse.

when i made this post. i meant OP is…

a class than is… (1st = tied or 1st by themselves)

1st in HP
1st in toughness
1st in Armor
1st in dmg
1st in distance mobility
1st in weaponswap times
1st in healing
1st condition removal

and has invuln/blocks/protection/aegis(rarely)/blocks and the whole nine yards.

yes most classes can accel at a few things. althought they cant do what a warrior can all at the same time.

the warrior build i used was full zerk (well it had 30 in tougheness line so almost full zerk) and had insane heal insane dmg insane condi removal insane mobility insane EVERYTHING. that is op.

you give my thief…. all of these qualities and take away stealth….the GW2 community would be in an uproar. OP thief waaaa. but only way that would happen is if ANET plays thief…which they dont so apparently.

and I don’t think they’re going to be putting this post into consideration when you call out an entire profession, not one aspect, but you called out many aspects that are supposedly “OP”

Ok i claimed warriors are OP and anybody can play one decently without having every played the class before. they can make a bad player look decent or better. basically the class is the beginners class (not in the sense they arent high end playable…just in the sense its a safe class bc u have MUCH room for mistakes and still succeed).

Another in game player (thief/warrior were his to pro classes…mainly warrior) claimed the opposite. warriors arefine. not OP at all.

I said lets test it. i have never ever….seriously…ever even created a warrior. i just hate the whole “hulk smash” type of characters, they just dont appeal to me. point is i suck at warrior and could never be good if i duel without some time on the class. so i challenged himto a 1v1 , his thief (d/p general blind backstab build) vs a warrior i would make up on the spot. he accepts.

i make 0 0 30 10 30 warrior with full zerk gear and lyssa runes (crit) while using GS/LB with energy sigils. Basically my build had 23k hp. 3100 attack. 1500 toughness. very very high condi removal. very nice hp regen (410 per sec plus every 3 secs few hundred more from adrenaline), and great dmg with regular burns. a very strong well rounded build. i used ENDURE PAIN and HEALING SIGNET and DOLYAK SIGNET OF STAMINA. im sure most of you are familiar w/ it.

match one i win 40% hp left

match 2 i win 85% hp left

match 3 i win 100% hp left

each match took 45-1min 15 seconds. obvouisly i missed alot and fumbled and bumbled so im sure most could do it faster. hes not the best thief in the world but id give him a 7.5 out of 10 on the perfection scale. just to be fair and keep this in perspective. id guess i was like a 1.5 or 2 out of 10. i was clicking all the skills with mouse and reading them as fighting. popping all my signets when i shouldnt have been (figured that out after first battle which is why my left over HP went up so high).

i wanted to go against other classes he has never played so it would have been a real experiment. nub vs nub so its more focused on class ability rather than personal skill. he wanted to play warrior vs warrior which i declined bc u cant test OP’ness on same class battle. OP vs OP = even. OP vs UP(underpowered) = obvious winner.

anyway what do you guys think of this. i can try it again and get video or even with a diff opponent to prove the point. but i think warrior is OP …by alot. they lead or almost lead most categories in game, dmg, hp, toughness. armor, condi removal etc. very high ranked in everything and i dont see many weaknesses other than mobility which is why i added the sigils of energy and using 5 sec swap.

how OP do you think warrior is or is not, with consideration of this and your own experiences. i know alot of you can BEAT warriors. i can too on my thief. they are not impossible. but def OP. dont think always 1v1 either. think in battle. think about running thru AOE. think about gap closing or sprinting (warrior currently is number 1 and thief close 2nd atleast up to 3k distance) etc etc.

I believe Mesmers are more of the class you are describing…and you still have a general idea of what kind of build to put together, this does not deem you a “new player”.

When I am in PvP and I use Warrior 5 “Shield Stance” I am still able to be pulled and knocked out of it by an engineer.

I just feel that when I am in PvP matches/tournaments, if I have one or two people on me and I get turned into a Moa; there is no stopping my imminent death. I propose to remove it from PvP, or allow us players to use our utility skills, or make less time spent in Moa form, or give the Moa some skills that can actually create some survivability. I realize you can use one of the skills that lets you run away, but even then you’re still on death row when in Moa form.

Great points made from Menzies the Heratic:

Thats quite an ignorant post, as you will spend 10 seconds as an immobilized chicken being CC’d to death. An no utility/heal/elite can save you. No matter how familiar you are with the MOA skills.
And people stating:
- the skill can be dodged
- the skill has a long cooldown
- the skill has a long cast and obvious animation
only support the statement of the skill being too useless.
This skill is okay-ish in a 1v1 situation. And totally kittening rubbish in any other imaginable scenario.
Those of you still supporting this skill are afraid of improvement or come to brag how well you are playing when you are being MOA’d. Well enjoy!

The calculators don’t really work for this, so I’ll just write it out with explanations…

tl;dr version – 70% boon duration with shouts. Build has perma fury, swiftness, and 11-14 stacks of might OUT OF COMBAT with more in combat. Teammates get 6 stacks of might at 50% fury uptime. Silly high DPS ensues.

Traits

Strength 10
V – Berserker’s Power – moar damage with moar adrenaline

Arms 20
Precise strikes – 33% chance of bleed on crit
III – Deep Cuts – Bleeds last longer
VIII – Blademaster – 10% higher crit chance with sword

Defense 0 (cuz what self respecting warrior cares about survival)

Tactics 30 (cuz smart warrior is bestest)
30% boon duration (this is key)
VI – Empowered – bonus damage for every boon
VIII – Lung Capactiy – shouts recharge faster
XII – Vigorous Shouts – shouts heal (cuz why not…could also go with II)

Discipline 10
VI – Signet Mastery – faster recharge on signets (this is also key)

Gear is all zerker. Like every last bit. Runes, however…
2 Major Water – 10% boon duration
2 Superior Water – 15% boon duration
2 Superior Monk – 15% boon duration

Weapons are sword/axe. Greatsword is for boring warriors

(okay, really it’s about getting bleeds that get buffed to a fare thee well by the 15-20 stacks of might you end up with solo…25 is normal in groups…also, axe 5 inside a mezzie time warp creates 15 chaos bolts on top of the very high dps that attack has. This stacks a lot of confusion on your target)

Sup Sigil of Strength – chance of might on critical (hehehe)
Sup Sigil of Smothering – cuz CoF1 just begs for it. Otherwise, lots of things work here

In testing on dummies in the mists, this build is the only one I’ve come up with that beats the 100 blade/banners. Might stacks and permafury are just better DPS buffs, espec since bleeds ignore armor, than banners even after banners got buffed. However, this build suffers the same DPS hit as any other condition-heavy build if you group with lots of other bleed stacking teammates. It’s still excellent, but not quite as excellent as it is when you’re the only one using bleeds.

I’ve also run CoF 1 until my eyes were bleeding. It’s a perfect fit with those banner loving greatsword freaks. They get your 70% longer might stacks on top of their banners, and you get their banners. Also, greatsword warriors don’t bleed, so you’re not overlapping their. And as mentioned, mezzies create all those happy purple places you can spin in for chaos bolt fun.

Solo, it’s overkill in PvE. Then again, so is 100b. In PvP, you are the highest AoE DPS thing around (although you lose out on sticking major and superior runes so go with might buffing instead), but are also a delicate flower. In WvW, stay just back from the lead of the zerg so you can pounce on stuff without getting pounced on in return. Again, you have all that DPS, but no survival.

This build may be effective in PvE, but it has no chance in WvW and sPvP/tPvP
