how does a fast channel time improve it against dodging? that only means that you can avoid a bigger part of the skill with a single dodge.

windup time needs a decrease tho, i agree. takes way too long for my necro to lazily raise his arms and finally start leeching.

If it had a faster channel time it would be easier to get the whole heal off.

A nerf request to Death Perception

The way it works now this trait gives 50% crit chance, this is equivalent +than 1k precision. A single trait giving so many stat points insane. It allows people with 30% to get 100% crit change with fury. No other trait in the game gives so much stats like this one. And it is not like enter in DS is a hard thing to do. It is spamable.

My suggestions:

-Make it increase your crit chance by 50% OF your base crit chance.
For example if you have 40%
40 + (50% of 40) = 40+20 = 60.

This way offensive builds that invest in crit chance will still have a great bonus crit chance and the bunker ones wont get such a huge advantage.

DS skills criting are also not the biggest problem. The major issue is that it affect wells droped prior to entering in DS and sigil of fire/air. It is basically problem that old lich form had. Maybe the extra crit chance should be add to the DS skill itself and not as base stats.

Please keep the discussion constructive, no flame.

Nerf the only viable necromancer build that is still sub par, great.

OP please play necromancer before you ask for this nerf, this is clearly a learn to play issue. Asking for a Nerf because its not “fair” to other classes is redundant. Why not give necromancers stability, mist form, moa morph, stealth, clones?

How would you fix warrior?

Please keep some simple things in mind

  • Try not to let the stigma affixed to warriors play a role in your input. Yes, they were abhorrently overpowered in comparison to every other class at the beginning, which created a lot of resentment towards them. That is far from the case now.
  • Remember the role they were intended to fill and how they were intended to play. There are eight different professions in Guild Wars 2, each was meant to have its own unique play-style. They’re not a complex class capable of evasive utility. They eat damage directly.
  • Warrior, admittedly, has simpler mechanics to play with in comparison to other classes. Simple and overpowered are two entirely different things.

Warrior is drastically in need of some form of buff. In its current state, they may as well be bait in the water if they aren’t using the current meta of “HamBow” they’ve been forced into using, due to a severe lack of other alternatives that can effectively stand up to the competition. With the recent changes to adrenaline, numerous traits have been rendered disadvantageous, if not completely useless.

What are your ideas on how to go about helping the warrior out of its current crippled status? In no way are they looking for a direct damage output buff, or having them return to how they were long ago before the nerf to frenzy. That is what created the “Warrior OP! Please nerf!” stigma in the first place. In no way should warrior have its few good remaining abilities stripped, either. This is not a thread for those who want to further debilitate things like healing signet and reduce warriors’ mobility, thus essentially turning them into walking balsa wood, incapable of escaping. Regardless if you’re a warrior who desperately wants to be more viable, or any of the other classes who have a withstanding hatred for something about warriors, try to be constructive. We don’t want them to become overpowered again, but at the same time, they need to be pulled out of the dirt.

Warrior doesn’t need fixing. They are in a good place.

Finally Dagger #2

They have finally decided to increase the healing on dagger #2. A couple months ago I made a thread asking for this in the profession balance section and I got raged at and was rudely shutdown by so called “necromancer players” (hint: I don’t think they played necro because they said dagger #2 was fine as is but its healing was terrible and half of it gets dodged)

Moral of the story: There are so many people in the profession balance section who will tell you they play the class but they really don’t. So keep on making threads about how we can help the necromancer!!! (We should push for arena net to make dagger #2 siphon the same way Death shroud #4 siphons)

Necro minions in PvE

This would then have to be done for spirit weapons, elemental pets, ranger pets, possibly aspects of mesmer clones, and turrets. The you open way to many other needs, such as the problem of turrets being immobile. I am not saying your wrong by any means. I am suggesting that the problem may be a much deeper rabbit hole then it initially appears.

Necromancer needs this buff; necros are easily the worst dungeon class, other classes are fine.

P.S. rangers pets do have stats relative to the ranger.

Please post any changes to the necromancer class that you would like to see put into effect in this thread.

Let’s try and make them realistic. These changes need to help the class as a whole and they need to be focused on helping the necromancer find its place in tpvp.

1. Give the stability from flesh golem to the player instead.
2. Make plague form a corruption skill. Reduce cool down to 120 seconds.
3. Remove the cast time from Epidemic (it is too easy to miss the opportunity to capitalize on this skills affects)
4. When using the healing skill “Consume Conditions”, gain 5% life force for each condition consumed, if no conditions are consumed gain a random boon. (Any boon really).
While rolling the current meta condi build for necromancer, you easily find yourself not reaching over 25% life force. If you try to roll a build that gains life force more efficiently, your team and yourself suffers because you simply don’t play an effective role in tpvp now; too many ultimatums when choosing your build as a necromancer. Most of the traits are really separate in terms of synergy.

These are just a few of the much needed changes for necromancer. Please make your changes realistic, and they must additionally address a certain necromancer problem. I didn’t create this thread for people to come up with new auto win buttons; let’s build off of what we already have, just like I did above.

Realistic eh? Flesh Golem giving us stability is never going to happen – We already have stab from the other elites – Stability every 40 seconds from charge? Yea right I wish

Plague a corruption skill? Sure but it’s a transform – This skill is overall pretty darn good right now I do not think it needs anything

Epidemic needs nothing – It is not really all that useful in PvP and in WvW when you are hiding behind a zerg who cares if it has a cast time – Keep in mind they would just up the cooldown to compensate – no thx

Buffing Consume Conditions is definitely not where we need to go when we have garbage like Signet of Vampirism

Overall, 2/10
This is not what Necromancer needs nor are you looking in the right places for buffs – Here is a few hints —> BLOOD MAGIC Siphoning and Heals in Deathshroud

I see your points about consume conditions and epidemic, but certainly not about my first two suggestions. And yes, I agree that blood magic and heals in deathshroud should be implemented; may be you should make some suggestions instead of dishing out poorly thought-out criticism.

There are threads everywhere proclaiming that each profession is completely uncounterable, overpowered and down right un-fair.

Personally.. No.. 7/8 classes being OP doesn’t make sense. It really doesn’t.

Can you stop blaming classes? And start blaming the tools every profession can use?

Did EVERYBODY forget about that huge sigil/rune patch? Is everyone so blind to this?

I get it. A necro destroys you, you think he’s op. An ele rips you a new day, he’s op now as well. And a ranger makes you question your faith. Everybody thinks it’s the profession.

Could it POSSIBLY be runes/sigils?

Necromancer is not for this game

Its fine a new player in gw2 to start with a necromancer and enjoy the class to level 80, but after that if he’s looking ahead for an endgame will be disappointed.The class has no place in pve, wvw and maybe pvp(its still ok).People will ask you to change class if you want to do fractals and the reason is just that doesnt bring any utility for the group (that is a sang song i dont agree) other classes are capable to deliver(might stack, reflect or stability).
A new player will like that class and then see he was trolled by the game developers mistakes, which are gamebraking(minios – 6 utility skills with their traits useless) for almost a year old and still no fix.
Im playing this class mainly cos of fun only and will do till the day anet admits they never wanted necromancer to look this way, so it will be over with it, or some total makeover.
My advise is dont bother with the necro. Stick with the living story stuff!

We can cast spells when we are stomping, some of them but ds is a transformation I don’t think it’s a bug, honestly it would be slightly op if we could go in and out of ds while stomping.

Four professions have instant cast stability that can be used during a stomp without interuption:

guardian – stand your ground
warrior – balanced stance
elementalist – armor of earth
mesmer – mantra of concentration

engineer & thief can stealth before stomp
ranger – at least has stability that can be cast before stomp and will last the full stomp duration

Necro is the only class lacking all of these options. Mechanically speaking the OP is right – instant cast DS shouldn’t interupt a stomp. They could always “fix” it by making FitG base 5 seconds instead though. (yes I know that’s unrealisticOP)

The elementalist can also mist form, and the engineer has an elixr to make him invul

Longbow the slow?? weapon?

Longbow by default is suposed to be a sniping weapon used for longrange to be fired at a slow pace with high precision. The current update to it makes it in theory the quickest ranged weapon in the game wich is somewhat contrary to the principe of a sniping weapon. While i agree longbow did need a massive buff skill such as rapid fire would have been more fit in a shortbow setting.

Longbow… what it should have been

1. Auto attack (based on current distance)
if hunter shot is activated turns to snipe wich charge an attack over 3 second while invisible and deals damage equivalent to rapid fire on a single arrow
2. Crossfire (for 10 second all arrows ignore dodging and blocking and the target takes 10 stack of vulnerability)
3. Hunter shot (turn invisible and change auto attack to snipe)
4. point blank shot (same as before)
5. Barrage (same as before)

This wouldn’t work, they need to rethink the on enter and on exit DS skills to not be balanced around you spamming them for maximum uptime. They should simply give this trait an internal cooldown and then give a much longer duration. If you could get 8 seconds of stability every 45 seconds, or give 4 seconds of aoe stability every 30 seconds, suddenly this becomes a really good trait. At the same time it would balance the class and allow us to actually use our class mechanic while also getting stability.

Cmon lets be a little serious, this is a ds stun breaker that lasts for 3 seconds (base) with the possibility of a 5 second cooldown that can be achieved in that same trait line . Not to mention that trait line allows for a shorter cooldown on very useful spectral skills, some of which stun break. FIG duration increase is not necessary, like at all.

Deathshroud does not break stuns, please do your research on the class before criticizing its changes.

The amount of healing it adds with 1500+ healing power is less than Healing Signet base passive heal… The “activate death shroud on lethal blow” even more pointless… Damage goes THROUGH Deathshroud and usually when this trait goes off, you will be out of Life force.

When you are stomping and people are damaging the kitten out of you to the point where you’re going to drop but your deathshroud is on cooldown, then you will miss unholy sanctuary.

Hi, I would like to propose the idea of the Necromancer grandmaster trait “Foot In The Grave”, having its stability duration increased by 1.5 seconds, in order for it to be more valuable during a battle. It is no surprise to anyone that the opposition will try to interrupt your finisher, and it is commonly noted that in tpvp, the use of stability is largely implemented whilst finishing your opponent. I’m not requesting for a huge overhaul, but this leaves us with a slightly longer window to execute our finisher, as many other classes have access to the same mechanics, but in a more effective way.

Granted if this is seen as an absurd request, and is viewed as “Overpowered”, an alternative to this buff would be to allow the Necromancer to place himself in deathshroud whilst in the animation of finishing a downed player. This means that going into deathshroud will not cancel the action of finishing a player. If that isn’t really clear, what I’m asking of can be compared to an elementalist going into mist form while finishing, or an engineer using his elixir, or a mesmers invulnerability (can’t remember the name of it).

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the reason for this increase in stability is because we do not receive a substantial amount of stability to execute a finisher effectively, and yes you can spec into boon duration, but then you lack other useful abilities, and then this puts us right back at my second suggestion.

EDIT 2: It seems that people are on the fence about the stability increase. The big push here is the Deathshroud interaction cancelling the finisher. It does not have a cast time, it shouldn’t interrupt us, and this goes for every skill with a 0 second cast time.

You have both nightmare and reaper’s protection procs.

Imo Reaper’s Protection is a bad trait and no one should use it.
As to the fear proc of nightmare runes: the only reason they are being used over other condi runes is the 4th bonus.

Also, a fear proc with 1 hour cooldown is hardly a good counter measure to being pinballed.

Reapers protection is an aoe fear; are you stupid?

It’s most definitely not a bad trait at all, and I would rather take that than greater marks. Marks are easier to land.

I dont think it should be able to be sold on TP. otherwise it might become too easy to get. Having it soulbound makes you craft it yourself or actually go out and find some from the hardest content. If you could just buy it, it would be no harder to get than exotic armor. Then I could just run CoF and champ trains to get it

out of all the classes in the game what class do you feel is no challenge anymore ?

this thread is entirely based on pvp / wvw metrics , pve talking points need not apply for debate .

in my opinion i feel necros got the worst of it . minions are still useless in wvw and flesh golem is even more worthless , well of blood got hit with a nasty nerf , anet is clearly trying to force necros to be a melee based class when they as a caster class should be ranged . i just do not see the point of playing such a worthless class when their wells are the only thing considered of worth in wvw , not that it matters much when condition removal is taking so much away from a necromancers pure offense , stability and break frees wreck necros crowed control in fights . i seriously think that this will be a class largely ignored for wvw / pvp fights. when was the last time you saw a minion master and tremble in your boots ? maybe never and even more so after the latest patch .

Deathly Swarm works perfectly fine as-is. The only change it could use is a faster projectile, but even that’s not necessary.

Now you can understand the pain of those who do fractals. I have two bank tabs full of just ascended rings.

Adrenaline = Life Force

Post changes, how come a necro can engage with full life force that they built up pre fight, yet warriors have to build adrenaline from 0 always after the changes.

nerf death shroud if they get to do that. if any class gets the mechanic changed, shouldnt all classes tthat use the mechanic of building up “x” in a bar to power them up pre fight be changed?

Necros can’t gain Life Force as quick as a warrior can gain Adrenaline. This will never happen unless they boost the amount of Life Force gained from skills and weapons.

two thieves

I’m not sure how to put this, but in SPvP vs any two thieves its basically impossible to control your character for any amount of time when they are on you with the continuous boon steal. This is even worse on a warrior considering the amount of damage warrior steal does. with steal for boon rip, larcenous strike, stuns and immob there really is no functional way to deal with this.

I understand I am talking about a 2v1 in many cases, however, unless you are in tpvp with ts, any coordinated set of thieves will 2v2 by easily focusing one player down and avoiding any cc the other person is attempting to do by randomly evading or dodging.

Yeah I’d rather have 2 thieves than 2 of any other class on me. Thieves are easier to handle.

I’ve stored all the gear I can store… I wish I could put it in my personal guild bank, but you cant put account/soul bound gear in gbank… So I’ve began selling all acended gear if its useless to me. I’m currently storing over 40 pieces already and I have no more room for it.

Yeah that’s exactly why we need to be able to salvage them, or at least sell them to merchants for a decent price.

Or how about Ascended gear drops, and you can select the stat combo.

Not a bad idea.

Oh! I just received a piece of ascended gear, but it’s a shame I do not require the stats that come with it. I guess I’ll just salvage it and expect to receive at least a glob of ectoplasm because it is a higher tier than exotic; so that’s what I would expect.

WAIT I CAN’T.

Why the heck can we not salvage ascended gear? Am I just supposed to let it collect dust in my bank?

Give us a public test server so the good players can give feedback on the atrocity that has been the past 2 feature patches. Mainly because the first feature patch not improving the Necromancer, and the Guardian didn’t receive anything useful in the first feature patch, so please let us run some tests on these updates!!!!!

Arenanet skipped out on the Necromancer for this feature patch just like they did in the first one. When are we going to see some REAL changes?!!?!?!? Can they just kittening make our siphoning builds effective in PvP already?!?!

Perma Stealth.

Thieves can perma stealth off of structures.

They have zero risk to themselves and nothing but benefit. They can attack players and if they are failing, use any wall to target and perma stealth.

Also, they risk nothing when in stealth and their attack misses, and they get to ambush again. There is no downside to need to weigh in on.

High DPS, High Mobility, Perma Stealth.

Does that seem like a balanced intention?

Remove ALL bunkers

No, several professions can make a bunker won’t die to TWO people for a very long time (minutes).

Bunkers are OP in PvP and need to be removed. They serve no purpose except to make complete imbalance and require NO skill whatsoever to autowin. If I were to use a bunk engineer and squat on a single point, I would win at least 7 out of every 10 games without doing ANYTHING else.

This sounds like a learn to play issue

I believe I can play power necro/hambow/sword dagger thief/bunker guardian equally as good but I’ll let you be the judge of that
I’m 19 yo from Canada currently in Alberta on an internship as a construction materials technician as part of my construction engineering degree
All I play is MMOs and currently for the past year gw2 has taken over, I also used to play dcuo and PvP is my main focus.

Thieves Evade spamming is Out Of Control.

Read the above..End of story,I dont even have anything else too add.Being able to be in a constant evade spamming window while being able to port around,stealth and blind spamm on top of it is just a plain bad gaming design.

What does the thief accomplish? He wastes his initiative and kills nothing. All he is doing is creating one long evade; this isn’t a problem, it’s more a learn to play issue. He’s kiting, don’t be stupid and follow him.

3X lich form

Not complaining, but have you guys seen players with multiple necro toons in tpvp popping lich form>die>log on to next toon, lich form> etc.

Owned our team lol.

I’m pretty sure you get dishonored if you switch too many times.

Sigil of Paralyzation on Fear

I was testing some stuff and realized that this sigil is not working on fear. I dont know if its intended to be like that. I remember you changed melandru runes. Because fear was getting effected from both stun and condi duration reductions. So stun durations were working on fear before that update and now they don’t ?

paralyzation used to work on fear but it was ridiculously good.
