As a member of [MERC] I had a very good laugh when I spotted an enemy [MERC] with a guild name along the lines of “too poor to transfer”.

I had a lol experience on the weekend. I was running with a modest sized zerg of about 25-30, sneaking around the back of hills in one of the BLs. There was a fight out the front and Hills was contested. I noticed a few people start to fall out the back of Hills. So we quickly rush forward to clean them up. But they just kept falling. Next thing we know there is a sea of players just falling off the back of hills. I swear to god there were over 100.

Ahahhahaha if it is the moment I’m thinking of too then that was epic, at least from my side anyway lol. That had to be one of my favourite wipes in awhile lol :p

I’d suggest mesmer, but they don’t have great escape ability.

Mesmer is ok in 1v1, but not as good as thief, ele or ranger when it comes to “fair” duel on open field. Mesmers excel in areas that have lots of cover though, such as the ruins near the blue keep. In “unfair” fights we are almost as good as thieves, mainly because of our high burst.

If you’re getting crushed you’re not doing it right :P
You should be able to 1v1 or 1v2 fairly easily.
The only classes that annoy me are other well played mesmers and tanky D/D eles

These are American servers, which means you write dates the American way, or it’s the wrong way. If you don’t like that, then go play on an EU server, there’s lots of them out there for you.

EU time is the weakest time for all the T1 servers except SoS. All this week VotF has invaded jqbl to take whatever they want during EU time because JQ doesn’t have the man power to defend. I think SoS loses most points during the final hours of SEA time, not EU time. If EU players are considering moving to NA tier 1 servers, choosing SoR or JQ will enable those servers to hold off VotF. You will have enemies to fight. Or you could go to SoS and help them pvdoor Jqbl.

@Op As far as summoning zerkers on to people on top of towers. you have no clue how often I get “Obstructed!” Please do not tell me we don’t need LoS to summon illusions because they changed it not only to where you need LoS but you also get obstructed at some of the most obscenely unobstructed things. Its quite sad.

^ I get ‘obstructed’ if there is a little pebble on the ground, if there is a 1cm or more inclination or if there is a 1cm wide pole or structure around.

I use two monitors on my PC. This gives me a great advantage, since I can play the game in fullscreen windowed mode while keeping VoIP, documents, maps and so forth on-screen beside that.

ANet, I can’t help but use my second monitor, because failing to do so will hurt my team. However, it is simply not fair that other teams, and even my own team members, can not do the same.

Please nerf multiple display support in GW2, or give all players a second monitor. Thanks.

Just Wanted to give a bump from a friendly JQ player. These guys really need you in the days to come, if you enjoy hard fights, there’s no better place to prove yourself at this point, I will admit that JQ has become a bit of a monsters, so PLEASE think about transferring your guild over to SoS, I’ve heard that they have a great community, and they definitely have the type of organization that can make WvW really enjoyable.

Posts like this is why I love “trolling” the JP.

Imo, ranger is bad in 1v1. You’re probs not gonna feel (that) useful running in a huge mindless zerg with any class unless your zerg is coordinated and running synergy builds. But in terms of 1v1, go something like mesmer, d/d ele, thief or engineer.

We have a love/hate/deep respect type of relationship with SoS. Our matchups with you were probably the most fun many of us on this server have had.

I don’t normally complain about thieves, but since I saw this thread I’ll comment. Thieves don’t normally bother me in a 1v1 situation because you are aware and their moves become easy to read with good timing and me being a mesmer makes it easier too. But I do sort of have a problem with them in skirmishes. If you’re not aware thieves can burst you in less than 2 seconds. They can pop in and out of the battle near unnoticeable and then just burst people down again, rinse and repeat etc.

-This ss: took over 20k damage in less than 2 secs and im not even glass cannon (2.5k armor)

SoS after winning first week and beyond…

“We didn’t have the numbers. We were doing fractals.”

“We didn’t have the numbers. We were all doing the lost shore event. You’re still not good.”

“It was the grub this week!”

“Wintersday event is here.”

JQ finally wins a week during the new years period.

JQ: “Omg omg omg we’re the best! There is no excuses in war! If you can’t make the numbers. You don’t deserve to win! This is war!”

SoS: “We were out celebrating new years because oceanic celebrate it early. Meh, it’s-ok. We’ll be back next week to win.”

Current week arrives.

SoS: “Told you we would be back to win.”

That pretty much sums up what has been going on for the past 4 months for Tier 1 WvW. All sides making excuses. The only difference is SoS backs up their claims.
