Glad to see DB is doing what we couldn’t. I’m torn between rooting for TC or DB cause there’s all these awesome ppl on both. Hope Wyld, Jayne, and the rest are having fun vsing Mayo and his boys (and girls). Wish I could be there to watch.

Sounds like you guys on ET have a real problem. Hope Jayne or somebody can figure something out. I know not too long ago, we had a troll in our TS, while we were trying to run WvW operations. We ended up switching to a private channel. Also, one of our better cmmdrs responded to two trolls in LA and got banned for 3 days. So, yeah, I feel for ya, Roosta and your boys.

I use Lyssa rune on my eng, and I have more trouble with thieves, d/d eles, and mesmers than with rifle warriors. YMMV though I guess.

I see quite a bit of zerker gear in WvW. For example, when I get hit by a backstab that does 6k (regular 2-3k), I know that thief is using either zerker gear or trinkets. Does it make him more effective? Probably. But in that case, he’s a glass cannon and so can die easily if properly handled. I prefer PVT or Valk for survival myself. Whatever floats your boat, I guess

I’ve found my eng to be the best for most PvE situations. I run a mix of PVT, knights, etc. atm. My atk is over 3k and my armor is over 2800. Like the OP, I use FT/rifle and elixirs/TK/bombs, only with 30/0/30/0/10 traits. This setup has high survivilability, medium sustained dps (over 1k crit with rifle auto-atk), medium cond damage (bleeds mostly). I’ve run CoF with only minor issues, and in WvW, I can survive getting chased by some classes (depending on the situation-hard to run from a thief). I’ve found I can handle up to 5 regular mobs or 2 vets in PvE without dying, and I was exploring Orr at lvl 68 (got to Straits at 63).
I’ve found my lvl 78 guardian has a higher dps but it’s not as easy to run around in PvE (again, depend on the situation and zone). Possibly the lower base hps affects this.
Just throwing this out there.

Getting back on topic….

Some good fights in KN BL in the last 2 hrs. Ran my poor eng all over the map doing early warning of the big bad TC zerg (ZN and friends) and keep/tower defense that finally culminated in the loss of garrison. Too bad we didn’t have more engies with FTs.

Here is TC getting mopped up by our well known “naked zerg”. They snuck in through the water gate awhile later while we were distracted.

You will be missed, Jarvan. I, for one, had no issues with you. I wish you success wherever you go.

Ever try to spy (scout) on TC? I think my poor eng has got spiked most of all by TC doing that of any servers I’ve faced. Honorable mention, of course, goes to FA. I think both of these servers are paranoid sometimes…. :P

Good fights with TC and FA. I’m one of the few old guard KN left, and I must say that the epic three way fights was some of the best times I’ve had in this game. I will miss you all. May your loot bags never run out (or capping would be too easy).

I’ve been to that camp. Good place to farm, though I’d watch for the bomb layer bandits.

YaY! I do something better than an engi! Hang 10 zerf surfing thief! But, I never TRY to. It just happens. Like, EEK ZERG, surf or drown!

9 times out of 10, the pod drop lands on me. Ouch. That junk is heavy. You engineers really should watch where you call those in, someone could get hurt.

Quite a bit has happened while I’ve been gone over the weekend I see. I will miss Sarabi and the rest of CO. Unlike some, I have respect for them. Same for WM.
As to “spies”, I can tell you that a good scout is equal to or better than any spy. I recall more than one occasion in the last 2 weeks when I sounded the alarm. And a quite often, a massive fight ensues. This happened earlier at Mendons, when I came around the corner to find 30+ TC knocking on the gate. Yes, I’m the suicidal eng that tries to get through TC zergs. I don’t recommend doing what I do, but my eng is the best equipped for WvW, so I use her and not a thief. In any case, guessing where a zerg or raiding group will go or using sentries to keep an eye on them is one of those strategic type things not always appreciated in WvW.
In this, I must say that TC, for all their alleged numbers, is often easy to scout (though quite dangerous for my eng, I’ve found). To their credit, they seem to make use of scouts and roaming groups of 2-3 ppl to prevent scouting of their positions. This, combined with their numbers and good communications, seems to partially be the reason they are doing so well.
Of course, this is just some observations and I likely don’t have all the data, so if I’m wrong, feel free to correct me.

Some crazy fighting going on at SM in the last 2 hrs. I was that eng running around with the flamethrower. Good fight with that FA ranger and guardian (TAL guild I think); you guys had me on the ropes there till a guildie and some others got involved.

After reading all this, I guess I should pull my eng off scout duty. Currently have near 2700 armor and 22k hps, but every time I encounter a thief (quite often), it means nothing if half or more of my hps are gone in the blink of an eye. Than all the thief has to is stealth and wait for my flailing attempts to aoe or heal, then finish me off. Even FT seems to have little effect. Though this may say more about player skill than class.

Well, after considerable time observing TC in KN BL, I see quite a lot of cohesiveness. Therein lies the tale….

As an old Kaineng hand (t8 days), I recall how we tended to focus on defending what we had (due to Devona). Either we have come to rely on numbers too much and have forgotten how to defend, or we have quite a bit of “untrained militia”. In either case, I wonder if we need to pull back and regroup as it were. Granted I’m not in WvW all the time like some, but I see signs of disorganization. Going up against two organized servers with numbers worked for awhile but it seems that strategy has passed.
Having said all that, I know our TS server is mentioned often in mapchat and that there are efforts to train new ppl. I commend those cmmdrs who are. But I fear we have become the Polish facing down the German blitzkreig (for those who know their history). Maybe a stay in t3 is what we need.
I may be out of line here and not have all the info, and if so, I apologize, but this is what the situation appears like from my viewpoint.

Here is what certain ppl were up to tonight. I should note FA was also using golems in their assault of TC garrison.

BT never had more than ~35 people in the same group together, and that’s pushing it. And we started out with even less. 15 of us were stuck in queue for the first 30 minutes to an hour.

Scouting of towers, eh? Seems my job is now not merely needed but demanded. Well, I’ll have fun tonight trying to keep tabs on TC/FA.

I was busy fighting the hordes of TC in our BL when this went down, but I understand much amusement was had by all involved. Next up: PiNK zergs FA garrison with dolyaks?

Come to Kaineng, where Cmmdrs Jarvan, Mayoken, Chips, Ethersin, Sista, Jang, and others give TC a run for their money or die trying. Every time I run with these guys, I seem to always get many loot bags.
Then there’s the totally off-the-wall stuff that goes on, like the naked golem zerg. We may be crazy, but we have fun.

I use the 30/0/30/0/10 trait plus full Lyssa runes for precision. Wayfarers trinkets add more toughness and some vitality with some Invaders thrown in. I use rifle or FT and elixirs, sometimes tool kit when needed.
With this build, I can take on 3-4 mobs or 2 vets in PvE or just run past them. In WvW, FT is useful for zerg fights, rifle when solo. I don’t do sPvP so this may not do much there, but I’ve found this build gives a lot of survival in most situations. I’m sure it can be refined, but I’m still learning. :P

This is a good example of what TC militia do.

I should point out that I do not recommend this to anyone, and yes, that is me facing off 20+ TC with a flamethrower.

Yeah, I know about that naked zerg. The ppl who did it are class acts. LOL. Now, I don’t know if TC has the best militia, but it’s certainly better than ours. I think we could learn something from them.
Also to that guardian from SOUL who we chased nearly to FA spawn: You are a slippery one. Every time we thought we had you, you threw down your wall or used your book. I was the eng with the flamethrower. Good fight imo.

I dislike trolls. They have that nasty poison cloud skill and like to stun you.

Typical Kaineng POV of late. All I can say is “OH THE HUMANITY!”

When we are outmanned on our own BL during NA prime, we just might have a numbers issue. Which means we can barely hold our own, let alone cap anything in FA BL, etc. We still did well though, in the 3 hrs I was in our BL. Kudos to Cmmdrs Chips and Sano for the great work.
