I am not referring to your karma train, and by “bunker down”, I mean defending a tower with 30 ppl, 5 ACs, and a ballista. I seriously did not know it took that many to defend a tower against a similar size enemy zerg. I should note that I don’t see this sort of thing the whole time I am on, but there have been several times in recent memory.

Sigh Not this again. I doubt Mag would even feel the need to hack. After all, from what I’ve seen, they are masters of AC placement and usage. A few bad apples does not a bad orchard make.

I should note that I am not on between 2-10 AM EDT. If our Asians have some massive zerg during that time, I will not see it. And I was talking about Mag seemingly bunkering down during the time I am on.

That is based solely on what I’ve seen when I’m on, and I daresay during NA prime, that number is lower. My point is, we simply do not a have a PvE population to draw from like other servers though I’m not sure it’s T8.

Wait, Mag throws stuff? I though they preferred stacks of ACs? Too bad I wasn’t there.

@ Greive: My sig is an ironic commentary on bandwagoners. The point being, I would transfer too if I could afford it (tongue in cheek). I’ve been on Kaineng since I started back in Nov.
@ Banjamin: Our NA consists of 50-60 ppl on two maps at maximum, though 20-30 on one map is more common (and less than 10 during EU prime). We have good cmmdrs who use what they have, and the fact that we’ve keeping up like we have, I think, speaks for itself as to our skill. Whereas, Mag, organized though they may be, likes to bunker down in towers and keep, knowing we do not have the NA numbers to pry them out. I understand our Asians run into the same thing. Chips is trying to focus on skill and quality rather than numbers since he knows we are lower in WvW population than either Mag or YB. I’ve estimated our total active server numbers aren’t much past 300-400 at any given time based on what I see in both WvW and PvE.

Not sure about T8, but I know what he means. When WvW shuts down during NA prime, and you see 50 ppl (everyone that was in WvW), you know you have a numbers issues. I think on reset night we maybe have one map queued. Not sure about our Oceanic numbers, but I’ve yet to see more than 40-50 ppl during that time frame also.
What this means is we must value quality over quantity. That is what Chips means. It is something taught to us by WM and others.

15 ppl? Ouch. I’ve heard Maguuma has considerably more than that in their public Mumble at peak times.
I understand most servers have some sort of public voip that is usually made good use of, but this is best discussed within Kaineng and not exactly on a public forum.

I use FT quite a bit, and when properly traited for, can give you a constant six stacks of might. It works rather well in zerg fights in WvW, though in 1v1 situations, I understand it’s more of a utility. I’m not that good at control in that type of situation but seem to do fine in most PvE settings. I use rifle for higher sustained dps though, and it’s also good for kiting in dungeons.

Does said asura guardian use a hammer? I seem to recall one in EB not too long ago that jumped my eng. I could be wrong of course. It may have been a pack of hungry wolv….I mean a group of Mag. My memory is so bad.

I’ve wondered why I have trouble targeting at times. I tend to use FT on my eng though so it isn’t as bad for me in most PvE situations. In WvW though, it makes fights with mesmers very hard for me to win. Auto-attack seems to only target their clones, and the actual mesmer is usually moving around, making them hard to click on. Using FT doesn’t seem to help either. I’m bad at fighting other ppl though so my issue may be a lack of skill rather than targeting.

Multiple mobs that use stun/knockdown one after another can be a problem. Guardians have stability so they have somewhat of an easier time with this. However, the reef drakes in Southsun are definitely a challenge to take on, especially multiple drakes. I was on my guardian in Southsun the other day and ran into 3 drakes after trying to rescue another player. I barely won, and the 3rd drake was killed from downed state.
Engineer has Elixir C (among others) which acts as a stunbreaker. I have full Lyssa runes on mine, so it’s possibly to get stability from my Supply Crate elite if I see a knockdown coming.
Regardless of class, I’ve found it’s better to only try to aggro one or two enemies at a time. Than any CC they throw at you is easier to handle. Of course, this isn’t possible all the time.

I beg to differ. My eng isn’t a tank but does have a fair survival in most situations. They are all about utility whereas thief skills seem to revolve around using stealth to win fights. Eng does take awhile to learn however, so you may be better off with thief.

I don’t speak for RE leadership, but I do know we have had trouble with trolls in the past who’ve interrupted our WvW operations. There are some of us that use the public TS as well.

I dunno, Fox. I though d/d ele were so OP, they can wipe 20 ppl all by themselves. :P

On a more serious note, I will point out that Maguuma does seems to have an incredibly fast response time, especially for defending keeps. This is likely something we as a whole do need to work on, and this is probably one of those things we missed when we rose to T2. Though it is frustrating to go for a keep and find ppl shooting you with ACs 30 sec later.

That road runs both ways, especially after they buffed ACs.

As I understand it, Kaineng would have had to maintain 600 ppt every day for 6-8 weeks to even have a hope of getting in T1. This was impossible due to our lack of coverage, specifically EU (and NA to a lesser extent). Then TC got transfers and was able to dominate our NA. The stress of trying to keep up with TC (and FA) did cause some burnout before WM and the other guilds left, but there were some internal issues as well. In the end, what is left is our WvW core.
I suppose what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, which I guess is what Chips is talking about. We have quite a few “never-give-up” types as well here.

I hope CL got a lot of loots bags from that.

So, going by the choices in music, I assume nobody plays some sort of epic boss music as they try to take a fully upgraded and seiged Stonemist Castle all the while knowing they have no hope of capping it?

Good fight with the Yaks at YB Hills earlier. I think there was maybe 10 of us there. Too bad PYRO tried to jump our catas, which delayed us, but we still had a good time.

Completed a second time. Event now working as intended. After Mardine launches all 5 cows, his assistant will then go to the nearby ranch for more. I got the vista as well. Also, Mardine’s dialogue cracks me up. Bonus points to the devs.

Just tried it again, Jeffery. Event successfully completed.

Who keeps jumping me between KN Garrison and Hills? They didn’t get my poor eng the second time, maybe cause I saw ’em coming. Made it into SE gate with under 2k hps though that mes was trying hard. :P

It’s been longer than that on KN. Me and a few other tried it last week, and it was bugged than.

Tbh, I have more trouble with the regular mobs in Southsun than in CS. I should note that none of my characters have 3k armor either, though having 3 or more mobs aggroed is tough. It seems it’s the event scaling that is the issue. I don’t see the Orr temples open as often, likely because nobody wants to mess with the Legendary Giant at Melandru and all the Risen spiders, etc.

In Soviet Maguuma, arrow cart kill you. :P

Don’t bother, Shaka, Mag is T1 when it comes to forum warriors. Does make for an entertaining read though.

Here is another pic I’ve got for those of you who like fights. It’s from the same time frame as the first one I posted. Not exactly sure what is going on here, but it does appear to be a RE charge on a Mag position, though I’m sure there are several who only cared about loot bags. :P

So, retreating from cannon/AC/ballista fire is considered running away? Please enlighten us further on this matter.

Not sure about YB, but a lot of us are doing PvE stuff, including farming certain events in Orr. Those armor repair bills sure do go up. :P

I’ve already received one infraction point for “condescending language”, I think. Guessing I’m not the only one.

That was a good fight in SM earlier. I think we had 20-25 RE and the rest militia in there but all the skill lag and ACs whittled our numbers. (Still need training for militia apparently.) Even so, I got some good loot out of that fight and did most of my dailies there. I think at one point I was running around with less than 2k hps for several seconds.

Really? The most we had was 51 and that was around 9-11 PM EST. Less than that when I logged around 1 AM. That must have been you up on the S wall of SM while we were fighting Yaks inside.

Speaking of trolling, anyone know what went down at SMC earlier? It almost seemed that Mag was trolling though I’m not sure. That was still a good fight, though our 50 man zerg got whittled down by the merciless hordes of Yaks. Lots of loots bag to be had too.

In Mag BL at least, it’s been mostly trying to keep our little corner. Not sure about score, but I think Yaks were leading when I got off. Kudos to them. Now, here’s hoping [pro] will stop making incursions on Briar. :P

I can’t say I’ve seen everything, but I see PYRO quite a bit, and I’ve not seen any hacking by them. Been a pleasure fighting Paralda’s mob actually.

I don’t see too many in Harathi here either, but the ones I do are usually doing the camps/Ulgoth. It’s too bad too, cause you can get quite a bit of karma and money from the events, and Ulgoth has a chance to drop yellows. Easier to farm Maw/Shatterer/Golem though….
