Got chain-held to death by two from Yaks yesterday morning… Not very sporting, as it was already two against one. x_x

Dunno who the d/d ele was yesterday morning, about 6 AM (Feb 19th, USA Central) that kept trying to solo takeover Bluewater supply depot (EB Borderlands). Whomever she was, true I managed to stop her from doing so both times she made the attempt, but I needed the help of the NPC’s to do so. Kudos to you, whomever you are. Even with all that help, it was an amazing fight on my part. I’ve run over countless eles on my own without assistance, you’re one I will remember. It’s not often I have to push tactile home turf advantage and drag in the NPC’s on a 1vs1 to save a depot. I tip my hat.

I dont think we have the numbers to beat you Yakkingtons or you CD players. We at Ebay have this weird population stuck between T4 and T5 with our recent transfers. I don’t think we’ll stay forever in T4, but you guys are only beating us by 23k so far.

I wouldn’t call that getting “crushed” or “terrible” and there has been good fights so far this week. Have you gone up against our PK/FTF/GH groups? Have you seen our roaming community? I think that is where we definitely do well. I know I have been having fun roaming and trying to score kills against your much bigger groups.

I’ll be looking out for [Vile Faith] Norns for sure.

I’m not going to beat the underpopulated server issue, it’s a very dead horse. Regardless of how true or not it is, handicap or not it’s part of the pile on the table of things for us to work with/through. Maybe it doomed us from the start, as the scoring system in WvW often directly promotes having higher numbers present for success. None of that is of any real relevance. As it stands, here we are, and we’re fighting. All in all, I think we’re doing fairly well.

As a solo roamer, my task is simple enough. Move about as quickly and stealthily as possible from one point to another, acting as spotter, informant, and if possible counter-measure on a small scale. Sure, my contribution in sheer point value is seldom ever going to be over +5 in one instance, as such is the worth of any one supply camp I manage to take. In the happenstance of meeting a player group more sizable than the 2-3 that I can conceivably handle with success on my own, my job then turns to using subterfuge and diversion to await help or by any other means lead that group into ambush. To even the odds.

In closing, any trash talk on my part aside, I’ve found you guys pretty worthy opponents over all. Sure, I’ve had some confrontations that left me wondering if I just killed a player far below my level, but this happens in any match-up. In any event this weeks pot is a far better one than we and DR had against Kaineng. Who literally pretty much owned the entire map round the clock.

Lol, again, by all means keep that underestimation flowing. I’m used to killing 2-3 at one time (and not even a thief). Simply because you cannot/will not roam solo doesn’t mean there are not those out there that are highly skilled at it.

As for dueling, I’ve seen folks doing that, I find it disgusting. WvW is a war-type simulation. There’s not place for pride or gloating in war. There’s nothing for the single soldier to prove in war. If any soldier becomes famous or infamous through his/her acts, it should be through word of mouth of others alone, and not by his own boasts.

If it was you, then good fight. I think I was closer to losing than you were, particularly when I seemed to have half of quaggan lake chasing me around. If not then as I see you are a fellow roamer then I hope to bump into you some day.

As to the matchup in general, if you can ignore the one bad apple souring things on the forums then this has been a really good matchup so far. Seen some good things from CD and Ebay, keep it up.

Nope, but I’m pretty sure I know of who you speak. I’m a ranger actually. Nobody thinks much of rangers, but that’s okay. I prefer to be underestimated. I don’t think much of Mes, thieves, and eles. Other than the fact they excel at running away, lol.

Only solo necro I’ve seen lately, was the one that was camping on the glitched invincibility spot under the cliff in the Ebay Borderlands SW supply camp. He got me down once, but when I revived I had him running until he went back to the glitched spot some more. I eventually got bored and just let him slip away. Whoever he was, he was pretty good. Just not a particularly climactic end to the battle. =/

I’m wondering if they reason they whine is either because A) Since they lost a lot of players (probably based on the whining) they don’t have the numbers to compete in anything above T4. or B.) Good fights in Ebay BL today, some large scale battles back and forth betweem Ebay and YB, was very fun.

I think pk is a great guild, from what I’ve seen they definitely contribute a lot to wvw for Ebay. They have some really good strategies and some fine skilled players. Ebay is a fun opponent!!

I don’t understand why it’s hard to admit when you outnumber someone, and win because of it. It’s like saying Jade Quarry is just more organized than SoR or SoS or Kaineing was more organized than all those low pop servers that they drove through. Get it through your head, you aren’t winning because of “superior organization”, it’s numbers.

I’ll agree with this statement only to the point that I’ve never EVER seen a queue for entry anywhere while in Ebay.

D/D eles can be tough. I came upon one at a supply camp who had just soloed all the NPCs. I engaged her and we had a good 1v1 fight. It was looking like it would come down to the last hit (or the first to royally mess up). But 1 other team mate of mine showed up and we finished her off. Such is the life of open warfare. I still wonder how that fight would have gone if noone else showed up.

I don’t usually come across much 1v1 though. If I am solo I usually run into an enemy group, or eventually run into a small group of teammates I end up hanging out with.

Solo’ing a supply camp isn’t necessarily something to brag over. I do it all the time, on a ranger no less. Often a melee ranger at that. [Whirling Defense] is a thing of beauty, not only in application but in animation as well.

Feh! Missed out on the glorious DR retaking the Stonemist castle from the evil EBay (they eat yak babies), but I was around to help keep the castle in our rightful hands. They were being pretty frelling persistent over it, the moment I got there the outer gates were down, and a desperate back and forth struggle for the Castle Lord’s poorly decorated living room soon began, with the only thing keeping the horde at bay was a fairly sufficient number of ballistas. (I managed to get a small carpet worth of glowing bags at my feet as we desperately shot bolts repeatedly outside the door.)

We push you back, fix the doors, and of course you break them down again, and it’s back to the ballista. You had me a bit worried when you brought up those great many golems again (a familiar strategy for ebay), but… well, ballistas.

Sadly dinner soon interrupted my fun, but personally I think it was one of our best Thursdays ever.

Took you guys that long? Gone is the Devona’s of last week, that used to cap SM almost on a nightly basis while I’m away at work? We’ve been anticipating you guys putting up a good show of force for a while now. Here lately the instances some of your boys did show up we didn’t even bother responding. Was so bad yesterday morning we were in the middle of sacking Quentin from IoJ, who had completely dug in proper, that when you guys started trebbing SM from Anz, all we inquired of our spotter was, “is Anz still made of wood?” The forthcoming anwser to this seemingly simple, yet very telling, question being that it was, we all went back to what we were doing. To your credit though, you guys usually do a pretty good job of keeping the Overlook. Though we like stealing it from you and then abandoning it every now and again, just to give you guys something to rebuild.

And outside of the tower, well, you say you had to deal with the DR zerg? We had to deal with the EBay zerg. Which involves more than five people. As in, the culling was so bad, I could only see a brief screen of red names appear before the display just gave up, and offered me soothing placeholders of bunnies manning siege engines instead.

And oh they had siege engines. We were surrounded by trebuchets, showering us with cows because the gates and walls were long destroyed. And this was no ordinary EBay zerg, no, we fought that off hours ago. These were battle hardened mercenaries brought in from the Tier 2 servers, every single one of them abusing portal bombs, gears, and expensive dyes to give them the edge they thought would be enough to drive us from the sea of EBay green on their map. The single solitary dot of defiant DR red.

I couldn’t start my own thread thanking your server for a certain finite amount of karma, because even the ANet employees asking me if I was hacking didn’t know what my final tally was after my karma count suddenly started getting into the really weird ASCII characters, though I can tell you it sort of looked like a smiley face smoking a cigarette and cursing in french. And by this point I didn’t even bother picking up the bags off the fallen, the tower looked like it was carpeted by vampires with all that sparkle.

Of course, once we lost our lone arrowcart thanks to their third attempt of a golem rush, things were looking grim. I will admit, I figured it was hopeless, even with my two uplevels valiantly sacrificing themselves, ensuring that every single thief on the EBay server felt obligated to get on their corpse and /laugh, keeping them entertained for at least a few minutes. It’s impossible to hold off against your endless zerg of quickened Omega Golems…

Not all of Ebay are frothing at the mouth zerg-hoard, believe it or not. I have my personal team, or often go it solo. A ranger is perfectly capable in the right hands to cap supply camps and such all alone, or with simple NPC help. Capped a supply post yesterday with the help of the Hyleks. It also only takes a minmum of three people to cap an outpost if done quietly. I imagine every server has legit folks.

I’ll never use server based TS, for the above reasons though. Folks be shiesty, lol.

I’d say so, yeah. Ebay has been great to our small guild and I, and while we’re certainly not regulars to WvW or anything (our family oriented guild having only a lil over 100 members and only a handful of those already meager ranks active in WvW), we have made a niche for ourselves. Seems we’re forever the underdogs half the time, which again is prefectly fine with me. As that just means that every person in server that joins makes that much more a difference.

It has been fun, and you guys have all been great sports for the most part. I fear that whole Kaineng incident just prior left us frothing-mad… O,..,o

I would say maybe it’s because the state of modern technology in Tyria is seemingly higher in comparison than what you might see in say a game like Skyrim. Doing so though, would be purely speculative on my part, and I’m not about to start a “lore-war” of any sort.

I do however find it mildly humorous that not only have the underthings on Tyria not advanced in the 240+ years since GW1, they’ve actually seemingly taken a downturn. Before only the female rangers had anything resembling the modern trends in undergarments. Other things ranged from boxers, speedo-briefs, to even frilly and satiny fashions. Female Mesmers even had an armor set that was, more or less, lingerie. See below:

You’re right. Let’s do away with all unique character customization entirely. This is an MMO, we don’t need individuality to play. And it’d be far too hard to find clothes for those dirty plant people.

Just about my sentiments as well. The clothing selection overall is generally pretty good armor-wise. So really all that’s left is options in the civilian attire sector, of which right now beyond holiday costumes we’re pretty limited, and this I think would fit in that category there.

I back this notion! I get so tired of getting to a boss, finally getting immersed in the fight, only to very quickly discover that all of his minions have been popping up again like weeds one by one.

By all means, it’s hardly game breaking. I mean, I’m certain there are other places the devs should be focusing yes, but is it still a nice idea? Sure. For just basic dye applicable function, shouldn’t be a MASSIVE OVERHAUL by any means though either.

I like all the dances though and I think it makes perfect sense to have them be racial. I would like the addition of more dances to each race though.

No, they weren’t in any way lore related. That was part of the fun of it I thought. Also, it was because they were real life dances from various sources that made them so cool in my opinion. Just seems a waste is all.

I was actually just trying to see if this was possible yesterday, now that I’ve been deliberately seeking out the diving goggles sparsely populated throughout the world. I think limited alternative styles of underthings with simple designs would also be a great touch. I can only imagine the impending hilarity when some big burly warrior-type has his leggings broken to reveal boxers with hearts on them. I’d no doubt roll.

Gah! I’d completely forgotten the Charr… Some of the original dances would be hilarious with them. If not maybe a bit buggy because of their unusual body configurations. The thought of one of them doing the old male ele dance almost made me roll, lol.

Title pretty much says it all. In short, in my humble opinion the new dances are just awful. I’d love to see the original Guild Wars dances revived and available. They were so lively and creative, please don’t let them die. Also would be a great nod to the first game. I’d even go so far as to pay gems per dance, or perhaps they could be sold in sets.
