There’s one such PS story armor for each class type, light armors is hideous, so no one cares but wardrobe competitionists, I’m not sure what heavy armor’s PS exclusive set it, I’ve never really leveled a heavy character.

The Heavy is called Barbaric, but you can also craft it.

I opened this thread thinking you were asking Anet for the Commando armor from the commando “profession”. I’m a little dissapointed.

Lol! If only, right?! Anet has always been pretty creative with their April Fools jokes.

I would, but I don’t have a medium armored character yet :P Was thinking of rolling up either a ranger or engi though

Both are about to be buffed soon, so now is prime time to grab one and run with it. My main has always been ranger. If you want, I’ve got a really decent low maintenance condi/bunker build that’s only going to get super buffed with that patch because it utilizes 6 points in Beastmastery (Inb4 it was cool). Just PM me if interested.

Just remember to snag these armor pieces during your 73 and above Story missions.

That is actually pretty cool. I wonder what would happen if you drop them in the forge? There are still recipies that have yet to be discovered, and a four piece set, only obtainable through the personal story seems like it might produce something pretty cool, and in forging them you’d still keep the skins….

Go for it. Post the result here if it pops something out of the ordinary.

Also it goes by the name Marauder, it seems that commando armor was the PvP verison back in the day.

I’ve actually heard about that, and also that Apostle was once a full set that was PvP exclusive. As well as the Tribal set. Both of which now no longer exist as far as availability is concerned with the advent of the wardrobe merger.

So here’s the skinny for anyone not in the know; Commando armor is a Personal Story exclusive armor set, which as far as I can tell, has a unique appearance. I do know for a fact that the medium set is indeed all unique skins. The only reason I discovered it is because the NPC character Riot Alice from the poor human story-line is wearing the set and I happened to notice it and Wiki’ed her. The first piece of the armor is given after your completion of the level 73 Story mission in Orr, the rest fall in after in subsequent stories. There are four pieces in total, Shoulders, Coat, Mask, and Pants.

Only the medium set is unique. The Unique set for light is at present not fully available, but it’s called Apostle. Only the chest piece for this set can be unlocked as of right now. It’s received during the level 38 story mission I’m told. There’s a heavy set called Barbaric as well, but it can also be crafted at low levels.

tera armour, coming next summer!

Seems you may know more about this than I do. Got any details or links?

I’m sure he means the game, Tera Online, which could be considered the runway of mmorpg fashion design.

Oh, can’t say I’ve heard of it. I don’t wander much beyond GW2.

I noticed about two months ago that Anet has apparently been using the beach of Southsun as a test-bed for swimwear designs. Recently, I went about gathering images to document what I’ve seen so far, but not before I did a bit of digging for info on what was the cause of this testing. Most of the info I came across was not too surprisingly, on Reddit. There was mention of a glitch in the male board shorts (seen below) that resulted in the male character instead appearing nude. This post was dated over six months ago, and since the bugs have obviously been fixed. Seeing as the board shorts can be found all over the beach today, and on many races. Detailed below, everything from Kasmeer’s classic original Tyrian two piece, the infamous Faren speedo, to “leafy” Sylvari designs. Noting that some of them are as simple as de-textured undergarment recolors.

The question now is, when are these becoming available?

Another note, the one on the far bottom right was given to me by someone on an EU server, so will servers be an issue on styles available as well?

Wow! That’s certainly a different opinion about Rangers! Lol.

Lol! I know, right? This guy is probably one of those hardcore frothing at the mouth warrior types who disconnects from the game every time a ranger nearly beats him in WvW/PvP. Sadly, I main a ranger and it happens more often than you’d probably believe… Some people I swear think that if a ranger beats them somewhere in the field the whole world is somehow going to know about it and laugh at them.

The ranger isn’t a bad class as is, but we do need some refinements for sure. Are we underpowered in comparison with other classes? A little bit, yeah. Hasn’t stopped me from killing most I come across, but I’m fiercely devoted, well versed in the class, and familiar with other classes for countering their every move.

Also, every class is OP in PvE, that’s a moot point. Sure, I can kill the legendary priest of Grenth in the temple solo on my ranger… but I can also do it on my warrior, my guardian… etc. It’s a matter of player skill, proper set-up for circumstances, and willingness to learn a class.

Now if they’d just tweak us so our stowed pets don’t pop up every time we take a teensy amount of fall damage. It makes JP’s a chore, cause the blasted things are always right in our camera.

Just a fun ink sketch I decided to do while bored at work. I saw that there are no baby murellows in-world, so I decided to design some! I found it adorably dopey, and was a fun distraction from a slow day at the clinic. I’d love if a flopped-down seated position like this was their idle stance.

Features:
*Large oversized head, eyes, ears, limbs.
*The central upper tooth being the only one they’re born with.
*Shorter snout, retaining their adult freckles.
*Tongue a bit to long for the mouth.
*Possibly born with skin spot patterns?

I have FINALLY almost completed my character’s trait list, after well over a month ago I started posting here. I have two rares left to get, that I’ll no doubt have to buy because getting them alone will be kitten near impossible at best. Many of them in fact were so. The one I had to kill the Giant grub for in Eternal Battlegrounds WvW was the absolute WORST because nobody would help me, and until this week we have been green since Season 2 ended. So that one took me all the way up until this week to get, now that we’re finally blue and a few allies saw me struggling with it outside our keep. So that one in itself took several weeks to get.

The fact that ANet put this is as a trait unlock suggests to me that either they are purposfully trolling us or purposefully want us to use gold and SP to buy whichever trait this belongs to. Anyone who actually does WvW would kitten all over anyone that on purpose fights the giant grub. We are there to take points, not fight garbage that will get us killed and hurt our server.

Seriously. What up ANet? How much more feedback do you need to realize this change was just wrong?

Eaxactly. WvW is my mainstay as well. That blasted grub has more HP than most legendaries.

They should have added more desirable traits or skills and locked those behind map completion etc. instead of moving the goalposts after all this time.

I’ve read about people claiming they’ve reached level 80 by playing the way most fun to them and having zero traits when they ding 80. That’s not right.

Also in GW if I recall I had a full skill bar even without my elite in Pre-Searing or shortly after just from doing low level quests. I didn’t have a quest telling me “To unlock Animate Bone Fiends you must kill your Doppleganger in the Crystal Desert” in Pre-Searing.

Well there were no “utility skill slots” in GW1. You had 8 slots in which to equip skills and could literally put anything you wanted in them, so long as you were only using one elite. Each character class also had approximately 90 skills to pick from over all. So creating a dynamic build was much more involved and took a bit more intelligence than it does today. No skills attached to your weapons. The only skills in GW1 that required you to kill anything was the elites, which were carried by bosses throughout the maps.

It took them 18 months to decide healing signet needs to be nerfed.

Healing signet was rather useless for the first year or so of the game, so if you’re going to call it like you see it, you should look a little closer.

ya your right.
only took em 10 months or so right?

The point is anet might be one the slowest in terms of class balancing/skill changes and bugfixes for MMORPGs

Look at the laundry list of mesmer bugs that have been going on since beta
Ranger is still broken.

We probably wont see any changes until late sept/october.
And if they only going to spend 5-10 mins talking about it on a video, why would I get hyped? Judging by the past history, its not going to be any monumental changes

Rangers had their day back when the condi/bunker movement was just getting started. Everyone cried that they were too OP just because a handful of people actually got beaten by them in sPvP and WvW, then of course they in turn got nerfed thusly. Now they’re back to being jokes whom nobody takes seriously and cannot compete with warriors or mesmers yet again. We hardcore rangers are still keeping the faith, but the class would have died out due to starvation long ago had we not adapted to subsisting on a hearty diet of the dirt we’re constantly eating.

And don’t even get me started on the “Cele Eles,” or just “Celes” for short lol! Celestial gear in itself should be little more that “training wheels” for any given class, until the player gets a decent feel for what the class is all about.

Colin is pushing me out of the game, and hopefully pushing himself into the comforting unemployment zone.

What an idiotic idea to think that you can actually herd cats in any meaningful way.

Not gonna lie, I lol’ed far harder than I should have. Agree fully too. Since this ordeal began I’ve been pushed into other games at a growing frequency. Which says a lot, since formerly this was my all. I gave up everything else once this came out. Here lately, I’ve been rediscovering how much fun Skyrim is since so very many mods have been released for it in my absence.

Granted, the release of Maguuma has been impressive. And has solidified my being here a bit more this last week. Love every bit of that.

The reason it is so difficult now before lvl 80, before you at least got those passive traits at lower levels. This would let your character progress naturally thru the higher levels because you had a stat boost. (power, vitality, toughness, ect..)

Precisely the point. There really is no beginning the game now until you’re lvl 80. Beyond perhaps Personal Story missions in the meantime. But those generally skip a few levels at a time between missions. So it’s do a story, grind two levels, do your next story, etc. That’s not entertaining at all.

I guess you could at least sPvP if you wanted to. But I’d not recommend trying to WvW with no traits to get to 80. You’ll be eating dirt literally all the time.

I did a spreadsheet showing what level each unlock is, compared to when that tier is available. I would hope a visual would let the devs see what we are saying. Is it ok to post a link to google docs here with this? Or is there a way to get it to the devs that is better?

Outside links are tolerated as long as they do not lead to anything bad. The site just gives you a warning before you leave acknowledging that the link leads off-site.

So, yeah… I now have kill the grub in EBG for my rare XII trait (trait-line #5). I need it for a build I’m trying to use so I’m rather kitten without it for the time being. Problem is, we’re green this week in WvW (and have been since the end of season because we’re top of our tier) and my understanding is the grub is NOT solo’able.

So, here I am. I’ve now likely been blocked in half map chat (who are all at this point telling me to shut up) for begging the Commander to swing by and help me grab it (in enemy territory, near their spawn). Such was one of my only two real options here. It’s either that, or wait until we’re blue some random week (which as stated, hasn’t been since season ended).

…….. Sigh……..

Thank you Anet, for the delightful time… By that, I of course mean I’m glad I have absolutely no reason to ever make any more alts ever again, and am doing everything in my power to warn others of the potential strife in doing so themselves. The reaction to the screenies I took of my brand new lvl 80 with a complete wall of locked traits got a huge reaction from my guild on our website. They were met with a mixture of disbelief and/or hilarity. Mostly at my expense. Some members of our rather large guild even have since went on hiatus from the game itself.

Why haven’t you just bought it, then?

Oh no, I did… But is FARMING skill points really a great alternative?
Is that what we’re relegated to now? That’s what has been placed in our lap? Someone remind me how this is intended to be fun?

I hate the fact that most of these traits are for your own personal character, yet they are group events, and you rely on other people to help you complete them. Even harder when there are no other players around to help you do said events.

Exactly my previous point. This sucks. =(

Trait-line 1, trait VII (Pyromancer’s Alacrity for elementalist) took me over a week and a half to get. Simply because we’ve been green for weeks on end and I’d have to venture up there to the ogre camp by myself to attempt it (usually inevitably to become a loot bag). I FINALLY got it after considerable begging to my guild and finding a few others to help team up with me to run all the way over there into red’s territory to get it unlocked.

This, is not even fun in the slightest… This particular trait, along with the Hylek camp trait (trait-line 2, trait VII) can potentially take forever to get. All things depending on availability via what color you happen to be that week in WvW or the availability of dependable help (in my case whining and crying in guild chat for ages cause everyone knew it was likely suicide to go up there).

I understand that this new system is supposed to be a mimicry of GW1’s elite hunting. Fair and fine! But there are clear, very obvious flaws to this. (I keep remembering that one tweet, of a GW2 dev who never played GW1 before. Makes the bile rise everytime I do think about it.)

While the idea in theory is neat, the goals should be far more generic things, in line with the Dailies/Monthlies. 100%ing maps or finding obscure areas should not be requirements for Adept traits. That’s really messed up.

I understand the GW1 wannabe gimmick. The problem is, they’re using something that wasn’t even all that fun in GW1! XD

It was at least understandable when it was just the added rare traits that were unlockable. But when we say we want more Guild Wars homages, we’re talking more:
Armors
Map Locations
Guild Halls
Guild vs Guild
Bosses (Cause the Iron Forgeman’s return was amazing!)
Zaishen Missions

Not even gonna start on Cantha and Elona, since I think you guys already know we want those back.

Maybe a Gadd or Oola’s lab dungeon, with dusty golem models that were of that period (personally I think those were more formidable. Don’t make ‘em like they used to?). Maybe bring back Rotskale and Oola’s giant invinci-golem as bosses. Maybe let us uncover the remains of Glint. Maybe let us uncover a bit of what happened to the dwarves (yeah, we’ve been told what happened and all but lets see it!). Maybe let us be sent to track down whatever happened to Livia (last seen in the Sea of Sorrows book on a ship to Orr a few short years ago).

Don’t peg us as ungrateful, please. I for one love, and have loved most of, the new content. I love that so far what we’ve seen of the Maguuma Wastes has a very “wild westy” feel. The quicksand in particular was an amazing touch/effect (in saying that, meaning I so died in it the first time cause I was caught totally unaware lol. So kudos there). I love that you guys have finally decided to bring back Riot Alice (since I personally have been begging here on the forums for more of her). I love the dust storm event (just the environmental effects in general I guess). I squee’d like a lil girl when I saw tumbleweeds lol. I even liked the new Jump Puzzle, which is rare (it’s challenging but not over-the-top irritatingly so).

Also, very sad for the Zephyrites! Their contact and charity with us only destroyed their way of life. =(

Dont think they are going to change the trait system

They’ll have too when the player-base plummets. This isn’t like the Bloodlust update in WvW, where everyone simply ignores it once the “shiny” wore off (granted the ruins are fun to play in). The only reason I didn’t leave is because it’s my last lvl 80, but was on the fence for nearly a week. No way in kitten I’d do this unlock thing more than once.

I play mainly WvW. then dungeons, then spvp.

Played since first beta. Have an 80 of every class. At the start of the game I made my main toon(a mesmer) as fast as possible. Sadly i made a huge mistake and made him as a charr. Finally decided i was tired of the tons of armor that looks horrid on my char so decided to make a new human mez to replace him…

Hit level 30 yesterday saw the new trait in all its glory for the first time(all other toons had all traits unlocked already).. and have decided its not worth my time to even finish him because of this trait system. I also probably would of been completely turned off the game back at the start if this had been in.

Map completion has always been boring for me and only 1 toon of my 8 even has 100%(the rest all have between 10%-40%). To have to manually unlock each trait is just impossible for me, I would only grab the key triats that i know are most important.

Also, spending the kind of gold and sps that would be required to just skip the searching is kind of crazy. I never would of made 8 different classes in this system if i would of even finished 1.

My main points exactly. I mainly PvP/WvW. Have no interest in boring mapping on EVERY character. Gimme a break. Now I’m being force hand-held into doing it for my final lvl 80… This is bullkitten.

Now that I’ve thought about it, this trait unlock system is incredibly unfair to those that prefer WvW over the rest of the game. I don’t even like that mode, and I still see that they’re getting it worse than PvE’ers are. They’ve gotta buy most of the traits they want anyway. Giving them their own options for acquiring these traits would at least even things out.

You’re darn right it is! Keep your kitten dirty PvE to yourselves! KThnxBai!

o.O ..Not sure if serious..

I was, and yet was not. I’m a WvW player. I’m tired of having PvE pressed upon me. I don’t want to have to go traipsing all over Tyria in order to be able to build an effective character. Keep your ingame holidays in PvE (the Wintersday decor in WvW), keep Living World in PvE (Scarlet’s minions muddling about in WvW)… In short, keep your peas outta my mashed potatoes, lol!

Sure I occasionally come out to Dungeon, Fractal, and even check out Living Story if I’ve heard decent things about it. Especially on weeks where the matches are dreadfully one-sided and we’re just smashing our opponent. That’s boring and generally no fun at all. Any time a game starts to see fit to force specific content in order to even progress as a character though, your freedom as a player is being robbed. There’s not a single thing good about this new set-up.

ANet basically wanted to use the trait system to encourage people to do content in other parts of the game that they may not have done before. If they prefer not to, they have the option of just buying it outright. Unless you’re a completionist, you can get away with just buying the few traits you will actually use too. (Personally speaking, I’ve only used a handful of the same traits since launch. I don’t even touch most of them.)

The problem being I made my elementalist specifically for WvW, and intended for her to stay there. I had/have little intention of doing map completion on every character, as I’ve already completed it on two chars already.

Not even gonna touch upon the approximately 43g and 360 skill points it costs to simply buy them. Niether of which a brand new freshly geared level 80 character would likely have available. For each character…

From my perspective, my elementalist is now useless to me for the purpose in which I built her. She’s traitless pixelated garbage, and I regret having spent the time to build her. And yet, as it stands right now she’s the only thing keeping me in the game at all. As she’s as formerly stated the final profession I had to get to 80. As I would never do this “trait-trek” again once completed. Much in the same way I’ll never build an Ascended item again. It was too boring, too long, too tedious, and plain asinine. I crafted just enough of them to fully outfit my main character with agony resistance for Fractals, and never have to do it again. I can’t even imagine having to do these things for more than one character as a brand new player to the game. The very fact that this has put a player that has been here since the beta on the fence for four days to ponder whether or not the game is even worth hanging around in any longer alone to me speaks volumes.

the GW1 system of rewarding a significant portion of skills (or in this game, traits) via quest lines worked really well there, why is the GW2 so retrograde?

Trait unlocks in Personal Story? I could roll with that. It might actually get me back into actually doing them again. Only ever bothered doing the story in its entirety once. The rewards in there already leave much to be desired, and are in need of upgrade.

Between my previous post and yours, now that I’m really looking back at GW1 again in earnest, what about bringing back henchmen and/or heroes again? I can’t count the number of times I’ve had to find something else to do because nobody in guild wanted to dungeon with me. The only foreseeable problem in my opinion would be the fact that the AI for them would have to be absolutely magnificent, and would require a ton of multitasking… With ranger pets being a possible example, my outlook on this is grim, lol.

I have no problem with the new system. It was too easy before

Level of ease isn’t really the issue at hand. It’s the pushing of an exact formulaic system that requires a player to perform precise tasks in order to progress. Player character creation and leveling has now become so much a conveyor belt function.

I don’t see why the trait system even required a remodel to begin with. It wasn’t broken. Sure, the massive 60 point trait system was indeed a tad redundant to be sure. Because who really needs points between the 1 and 5, 5 and 10, etc anyway?
Streamlining it to simple increments of 5 was a valid change. But why overhaul the entire system?

It has dawned on me finally, something that I think many before me beat me to in conclusion, and yet I simply refused to believe… How much does Anet actually listen to the game’s player base? How many of these “refinements” that we’ve seen since launch have actually been suggested and desired by the actual players? I for one can only think of one offhand. The coliseum expansion to the Obsidian Sanctum map. And that was a case in which it seemed like they only did that begrudgingly because it was obvious GvG and Dueling matches were going to remain a popular pastime (and was supposedly a hinderance to the functionality of WvW at the time). That and Living Story being replayable, which by the sounds of things is finally coming to pass.

Where are guild halls? Where are guild alliances (hint hint Anet, most guilds do have them on a non-formal basis already)? Are we ever getting more utility skills? Are rangers ever getting the “tune-up” they’ve wanted forever? Water balloons but no swimwear yet (Kasmeer, the only woman on Tyria that owns swimwear)? Savable build templates ( for the love of Dwayna please already!)? Also, I’ve heard in map chat in LA that it would be amazing if the reconstruction lead to the “New LA” being a large scale airship hub. I have to agree, that would indeed be amazing.

Things at this point I may never see… I’m teetering here. I played (and was happy with) this game’s predecessor for the entirety of its run before this one was released. I’d hoped for the same here.

I trying so hard not to…

I logged in today on my fourth day of absence from the game, took a deep breath, sucked it up… and went after just one trait… Just one… I went to befriend the Hylek in EBG. Should be simple, right? Five deaths and 1 hour 20 mins later, I FINALLY got it done because people kept killing me and recapping them and nobody would help me.

In case I’ve not kicked this horse into being dead enough…

I hate this…

I HATE IT! HATE IT! HATE IT!

It’s not a dead horse if the negative consequences to gameplay are still there.

Two months later and many guildies still actively refuse to create new toons. The enjoyment of creating new toons was what kept them coming back to open world PvE – that’s over now.

Mention trait unlocks in Lions Arch today and people are still super kittened

I think a lot of players are waiting to see if Anet addresses traits with the July 1st update before deciding to bench GW2 and play other games for the summer

It’s possible that Anet could some of the trait requirements to draw players to the new areas, but don’t count on it since that would only make dead PvE areas even deader.

I truly do not understand what they’re doing or trying to accomplish anymore. It now looks as if they’re trying to push a strictly linear character progression. Basically saying, “this is how you will level your character,” and leaving it at that. With very little regard to the “play it your way, we’ve made this different” style that was touted and praised upon release. Why now do they seem to be trying to herd us into those same shackles that they were so proud to proclaim they were avoiding when overhauling the game’s system to be so different than every other grindy MMO of that time? Why are they back-peddling on everything that made this game revolutionary?

I’ve already stated exactly my brother’s reaction in playing this game for a mere three weeks, even prior to the latest trait update(s). It breaks my heart to already see so many dead instances, even after the move to megaserver status. Yeah sure, world bosses are often still anxiously awaited, but on average when mapping you might run into one other person an hour while simply mapping or moving about doing hearts. They’re expecting that forcing into an exact formulaic character progression is going to draw more players in?

This is sadly not the case. I miss the days when I didn’t even have to leave WvW or sPvP in order to get dailies and freely level. I could choose something I wished to do during my meager four or so hours of daily playtime, and not have to worry about not achieving any of those things in that time. They happened on their own, and that made the game great. Now I have to apparently structure and schedule my time to make sure I accomplish almost anything… “I should go here now… I need two skill points and one gold for this… Oop, I almost forgot to craft my once a day thread for my next Ascended piece… Oh, but guild says Karka Queen is up right now…”

Anet…

Please nerf…

Not to mention that the inflated price to BUY the traits is ridiculous, using SP you will need while lvling up and money new players do NOT have ..

This new trait system I feel will alienate new players who want to try builds out and force them into builds off sites rather than “play thier way” due to how you unlock them

I’m too am wondering how they ever thought this was gonna fly with players not yet into the game? People who are guildless, just learning how to play, and now they don’t even get to experiment with the trait system at all until after level 30? I can tell you how that went with my brother, whom I bought this game for. He played it for all of three weeks before dropping it like a hot rock and going back to Dota. Claimed it was too grindy, too boring/slow at low levels, lacked any feeling of character progression at low levels, etc. All the same stuff we’re telling Anet now. I haven’t even told him about this new development… I’m hoping after Anet fixes this costly mistake (and it IS a mistake) I can talk him into coming back, just so the money I spent buying the game for him isn’t a total loss.

As for me, I logged in for the first time today after a three day absence, just to chat mostly. I still will NOT be actively doing anything at all to start unlocking my 65 traits. I refuse to even take part in these shenanigans. If the new ele I made after the patch becomes a mule, so be it.

Today I decided to start playing again more actively. I created a new character, used scroll to level 20 and started playing. During first 15 minutes I opened trait panel like 3 times to plan my traits and see where to put my next points only to remember that nothing is available until level 30. Then I remembered that even at level 50 I probably won’t have any meaningful traits available.

Today I decided to stop playing this game actively.

Today marked day 2 since I dusted off my copy of Skyrim for PC. Lots of great mods have come out since I left it last.

I don’t even know where to start with this…

I was okay with the conversion from the large scale point distribution conversion to the smaller scale version over all. I mean, does anybody honestly need those in-between 11-14 points in any given trait line? I was even okay with the new yellow rare traits having to be unlocked via bosses and specific ingame events/actions. As this to me is reminiscent of elite skill unlocks in GW1 where you had to track down and capture elites via specific bosses ingame. Not entirely certain if that’s how it was intended, but that’s how I felt. Which I honestly thought was a nice nod to the original game.

But the basic blue and green traits too?… Really?

I finally got my brand new elementalist to level 80. Having built her specifically for WvW, only to find that I now need to unlock EVERY SINGLE trait on her to even create a build. Thats’ thirteen traits, elementalist having one set of such for each of the five elements that he/she can wield. That’s SIXTY-FIVE traits in total that I need to unlock before she’s fully complete! Are you even serious with this? I want to physically cry every time I look at my trait screen now. Full of empty trait slots, that as far as I care at this point, may never be filled. I made her for WvW, and I’m not going to be force-fed PvE and travel the expanses all over Tyria fulfilling all of the requirements (some of which amount to full region map completion) to unlock each skill. That’s insane, this to me is way over the line into being completely asinine.

You stated in your OP that you were happy with obtaining some of the Traits by adventuring in the open world. I merely suggested you purchase those you did not want to ‘traipse all over’ for. Just as the Devs suggested in the Blog announcing the new Trait system.

If you feel that isn’t your cup of tea, my only other advice would be to wait until Trait acquisition is changed again, whenever….or if….it changes to something you are happier with.

I was okay with it, when it was just the rares. As stated I thought of it as a homage to the original game. I had no idea they were testing the waters to go full metal jacket with this!

I equate this to when your newborn child makes an adorable little burp after a feeding when it was just the rares versus full-on Exorcist style pea soup fountain spewing the way it stands now…

10 > 65

Huge difference.

Actually Inculp not everyone has the lucky accounts or the same access to the loot. If you’ve bought this game because you want to play your way and stay only in the open world, than your are basically sol at this point because the cost continues to increase on both crafted gear and essential runes/sigils, the nerfs to the open world continue where nowhere else in the game are there loot nerfs, and once again DR is showing signs of having not only an Unidentifiable Object loot bug but also a bug where chests for events don’t appear when they are completed.

So really what option is there for new players who want to play their way?

Please we’re listening. And you realize that the talk about this game’s lack of rewards as the central issue is building all over the internet right now right? Like this isn’t the first time people have noticed this. How bad does it have to get before people who’ve been classic deniers begin to realize “Hey, there’s something not right here, maybe we should ask about it?” Like really, do sigils have to reach 20 gold each? 30? how much is too much?

I don’t understand it really. They change traits to make it now required to either be in a zone higher than your level in order to open traits/columns or grind gold which really does take a long time for new players, or buy it directly through gem conversion. How can it be that difficult for anyone with an objective mind to see? It’s not possible for some, some people don’t spend 10-12 hours on a game all day everyday to get what they need especially not for alts.

That’s just it. There is no “play your way” anymore.

You can always buy the ones you don’t want to traipse all over for. /shrug

This. I don’t really understand, it’s just a couple gold to buy a trait. Just buy the ones you want, is that so freaking hard?

I don’t see how this is supposed to help.

Also, it cost skill points as well. Which a brand new level 80 has none to spare. So, I’m relegated to either hunting skill points and spending coin that I shouldn’t have to, or traipsing all over Tyria anyway doing events/bosses. Neither of which I wanted because as stated it’s less time spent in WvW, as I despise PvE anyway.

This was a huge mistake…

clipping i can forgive but they never fixed the dye problem, all dyes are allot lighter then the intended color is suppose to be.

The armors ingame all seem very varied in how they take dye anyway. Even if they’re of the same supposed material type.

I’m not asking for anything large either in terms of a fix. Would simply be nice if the edges of the lace trim about the sides of the leather portion be cleaned up a little. So they’re not IN the hips lol.

Anet please! About "pets"

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

KStudios.2850

This same problem has existed since launch and people have been posting about it for over a year.

Do not hold your breath.

It’s very apparent they have no solution or interest in fixing this.

Rangers have been crying about this since launch. The only supposed “fix” they got out of the deal was a 15% reduction in pet damage, lol! Cause supposedly rangers were OP, and a bunch of warrior players raged cause they got killed by a ranger or two at some point. As has been the trend, the game’s golden profession got their way, and rangers now die to just about everything on the map in WvW and SpvP. Of all things they chose to nerf, they nerfed Beastmastery. As if it wasn’t bad enough we’re shackled already with the glitchy AI driven things to begin with as it has been plainly stated that “petless” rangers will never exist in this game like they did in GW1.

Sorry, if I went on a tangent and sound a bit rectally injured over this that’s because I am lol. Ranger WAS my fave class, but I’ve since retired mine. She is now nothing but a mule and an RP character, as she’s completely useless outside of PvE.

Got tired of the fight, and trying to convince anyone that things should change… So, I finally caved and did what everyone else did. I tucked in my quivering lip and rolled a warrior. Can’t say I’m happier. The class requires very little in terms of player skill, and I’ve since started slowly outfitting my old dusty ranger with Ascended gear. Just in case someone some great and as of right now unforeseeable day decides to make them less cannon fodder.

The area on the Profane Armor Leggings that looks like it is clipping through where the legs meet the hips is actually not clipping…it seems that it is supposed to look like that, sadly.

This weird design is what keeps me from wearing them and even buying several more sets despite my thinking they are the coolest leggings in the game.

Still seeking whatever the mystery yellow or brown color is that is the mainstay of the Lionguard’s armor hue. Most people claim Mudmetal is accurate, but it in my eyes doesn’t seem quite yellow enough. I find Wheat to be far closer to the actual X color in question. Though it too has the same drawback, only to a lesser extent.

Any advice, or the the actual known color scheme, would be most appreciated.

Depending on if you are a Human Warrior – then you have highest priority, & it will be taken care of soon.

If you are a Charr Mesmer/Engineer – then you are lowest priority, & your better off asking for a refund (which wont happen, just like clipping will not be taken care of for Charr)

I’m not asking for a refund, lol. Overall I really like the set, and the nostalgia it brings with it… It just bothers me that the one from the original game seem to… fit better? I guess.

24 cooldown for heirlooms?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Posted by: KStudios.2850

KStudios.2850

I really dislike being restrained by a tight 24 hour cooldown for nodes and events like the current “heirloom runs” in Lions Arch. It’s very restricting. In the manner that gradually I’ll move further and further back time-wise in doing them after I get off work, until I get to the point tonight when I’ll likely have to skip them entirely to avoid them exceeding my usual bed time.

Can we please, please, PLEASE change this so that the cooldown on things like this is closer to 18-20 hours? It doesn’t change much in that it’s still once daily, but it allows for MUCH more time variance on the part of the player. I wouldn’t feel nearly so constrained.
