If losing a happy meal worth of money that you were using as expendible income on a game is seriously hurting you so much, maybe you shouldn’t have spent that money in the first place. Anet is refunding gems to those who are dissatisfied, so not sure what the problem is. I’ve read the majority of this thread and have seen words like lawsuit and fraud thrown around. Honestly, go outside and get some fresh air. Use the gems on another armor set or save them and wait for one you like.

You’ve no right to talk unless you purchased it yourself, only to have it taken away from you again and replaced with something you hate. As stated earlier, refunding the gems is the very LEAST they can do. As a full refund of the $10 spent by everyone that bought it would be the only way to completely fix the situation. So yes, some of us are kittened. Don’t balk at us for wasting our time posting here when you stopped to do the same, and for much less reason even.

I would argue that the merchant only did what it’s customer’s wanted in the first place. The removal of the flamekissed armor. They did not cause the issue, we did. They were simply trying to keep us happy. This is a prime example of being kitten ed if they do, kitten ed if they don’t.

No player produced nor introduced the armor skin in question. Anet chose to remove something for which people had paid. No player had the power to remove the armor skin, nor to replace it with another. Anet introduced the armor, charged people for it, and then removed it. They should be the ones to bear any burden involved in addressing player concerns regarding the matter.

You say, " we," caused the problem, but I think you will be hard pressed to find a single person who willingly paid for the first iteration of the armor skin who was among those arguing for its removal.

Lol, you’ve really thought this through! I would agree there could be some tuning up of the old “friendlist” formula. Which incidentally seems to be one of the few basic systems Anet didn’t alter almost at all when they constructed this game. Our familiar list ingame being very little different than any that has ever come before it.

MORE GUILD WARS NOSTALGIA!

It’s not necessarily lore breaking in that Elonians likely fled to Kryta during Palawa Joko’s seizing of power in Elona. As well as the apparently harsh dictatorship that overtook Cantha, many Canthans likely fled to Kryta as well. If anything, we should actually be seeing far more cultural diversity within the armors already in the game. Considering that , thus the rich mixture of cultural diversity within Kryta’s various peoples. I’ve placed just a handful of examples of some of the GW’s greats. All female, unfortunately in this case, but you get the idea.

Armors below, from right to left:
Elite Druid (ranger), Istani (elementalist), Elite Sunspear (elementalist),
Sunspear (paragon), Canthan (mesmer), Drakescale (ranger, bottom pic)

Something I’d also like to see, a return of the classic Guild Wars profession dances. They were all amazing, and were so because they were directly derived from actual dances from real life artists! Please don’t let them die! You guys could pack them like you did the “How to Dance, Vol 1”. Maybe in a “Old Dusty Dance Tome” or something, lol.

1. More culturally diverse armors, lol! i.e. Canthan/Elonian design themes. Since Kryta has such a diverse populace culturally thanks to ample refugees from both Elona and Cantha, this would only make sense.
2. More nostalgia armors, like the Krytan set already in the store. So many to pick from. Istani, Canthan, Drakescale, Druid, Sunspear… I still think Elite Sunspear should replace the current Flamekissed design. Since it isn’t all that different from the current Flamekissed design and it was highly popular in Guild Wars.
3. More armors for medium class that ARE NOT trench coats and pants, for pete’s sake! (Not even just in the gemstore, but in general. They’re ALL trench coats and pants practically!) >.<

I actually do have an idea/suggestion for this… and hear me out here. Why not just bring back elementalist Elite Sunspear armor from Guild Wars? Reasons why, as follows:

1. Was the number one armor purchased/worn by elementalists in GW. You literally were not considered an elementalist of any real worth at all unless you had this. So it was popular, and easily could be again if tweaked and added here.
2. It’s not inherently so different from the current Flamekissed design, yet different enough that the T3 human cultural lovers should have few qualms with it.
3. Nostalgia of epic proportions… Nuff said.

Well I’m particularly upset I won’t get to keep mine, and more upset that just because people started ranting, I now have to lose something I paid actual money for… I like my Flamekissed set the way it is currently. Was it a mistake on the the part of Anet to release an outfit that is a direct redesign of a cultural armor set (and an incredibly popular one at that)? Maybe… Do human player have a right to be angry that this set negates all their hard work getting the actual legit article (though apparently the opinions of those of us that actually like it mean nothing)? Maybe… But is it right that I have to lose something I bought because of either one of these two things? No, no it’s not.

So I guess since I’m literally being forced to accept this new outfit redesign, it better be good. I should still be granted the choice on rather I want to swap it over to the new look or not, though.

Why you make a point, another point is coding. Like the harvesting tools, if they re-release something and recode it for “account bound” it’ll make all the older ones “account bound”. Unless they released the new ‘Flamekissed’ set as a brand new armor completely separate from the coding of the current, I don’t see how they could pull it off.

I know I’m the minority here, but I got my first precursor on only the 13th attempt at the Forge. I know that frustrates a lot of people. I simply went off the rumor that whenever one precursor is earned by the Forge, there is a certain duration of time in which the Forge has a higher % chance to give another. I hung about Lion’s Arch whenever I had downtime ingame and waited for people to ping their “lottery winnings” in map chat, then hit the forge myself. I’m well aware this is just a rumor, and that I have no way of verifying whether or not this method works directly just by my account alone, but it did work for me.

No contradiction. To be more precise I should have said care more about winning than having fun. Of course, I care about winning but not to the extent that I would intentionally try to remove the challenge from the fight. Fun to me is a challenging fight that you could win or lose. Fights that you are almost guaranteed to lose or are almost guaranteed to win aren’t fun (to me).

Nobody likes imbalanced fights except the winning, i.e. usually the definitely larger, of the three sides present in any given match-up, lol. Unbalanced fights are for better or worse however a pretty major mechanic within WvW. This is not sPvP. There are no equally manned teams or measures of balance and counterbalance in place here. Large scale battles of indeterminate numbers is the cornerstone of everything WvW is built upon.

This of course can be a nuisance to those of us, who like myself, enjoy 1v1’s and 1v2’s. Some might argue that the very act of “dueling” within WvW is a bit redundant. Seeing as eight times out of ten, such things in the open field only occur for brief periods before more from any given team arrive on the scene and interrupt the fray. As stated by someone earlier in this thread, not getting outright jumped on sight is typically a courtesy.

Cheers to the [Rekz] folks hanging out in the Obsidian arena last night. Fought with the female ele. My survivability was alright, but I didn’t have anywhere near the damage required to seal the deal, lol. I was totally outclassed. No, this match up is boring. The only reason its remotely even is the PvDoor fest that resets everything. Dragonbrands NA spends all day getting used as a doormat by Ebay and Borlis, losing all their stuff, while Dragonbrands Oceanic karma trains in the wee hours of the morning.

Since Ebay and Borlis have about the same NA presence, neither server can match the 600 PPT DB pulls in the early hours. In essence, this match is boiling down to how long Borlis and Ehmry stay a sleep, and how fast Borlis and Ehmry can PvDoor dragonbrand when they wake up.

I’d congratulate you guys, but swelling of a server’s numbers is a double edged sword. Judging from the kind of kitten that has been spoken on the forums here recently, have to say I have a nostalgic fondness for BP-Classic. Less calories, less chalky aftertaste, lol.

I’m not sure that we did. We’ve had a lot of guilds transfer in, and a lot transfer out. I think our numbers are up from say last March or April, but pretty stable since then. You folks had some big losses since then, I know you’ve had some transfers to Ebay but my impression is you haven’t gotten back to early 2013 numbers.

The kitten talk seems pretty stable too. There was and is too much of it for my taste, but that’s just background noise you get used to in a forum. It has no effect on my opinion of Ebay, you shouldn’t let it affect how you feel about BP.

Nah, I was just poking fun. I’ve never judged a server by their kittens, or even their size, but by their tactics, coordination, and willingness to boot you in the teeth in when shoved. If the appeal was merely PPT for all involved, everyone would transfer to the top three servers and never leave (which granted, many have indeed done… The sad sad shallow souls they are). I’ve managed to find at least one or two amazing players in every server, without exception. Those handful of 1v1’s or 1v2’s that make you remember why you choose to hang around and walk dolyaks for hours on end, lol.

It’s true, we ain’t what we used to be, despite our newcomers (all of whom I’ve met and seen on the field are amazing). Though we certainly haven’t “plummeted” either. I chalk that up to my fellows in EBay. Especially the handful of folks who literally give it all they have ingame. They know who they are.

Just had 3 Ebay attempt to cap CDBL Bay. They at lords same time as swords appeared. We killed them (didn’t get guild tags). There was no breach in inner or outer walls. No Ebay on map for more than an hour. No inner wall breeches in 6 hours.

Ebay is a sad server to play on.

White swords take 30 seconds to appear on a keep or tower. its more than enough time to breach a keeps gates and get to lords. also if you dont sweep for mesmers and thieves then obviouslt theyre gonna remain hidden. mesmer can port from lords to outer from 1 point in hills and its also easy to remain hidden in the water which is why it takes up to 15 min to give it good complete sweep. stop throwing accusations around so freely and cover the bases better.

I’ve in no way denied that BP is formidable due to their swell in numbers, but there was NO formal alliance if any sort between us and Yaks. There didn’t have to be. As plainly stated above.

This of course doesn’t touch upon the fact that Yaks quite obviously has an axe to grind against BP. That however has little to nothing to do with us. I don’t watch the match-ups, nor the related threads, closely enough to know the reasoning behind this dislike of BP on their part. I suspect however these past few matches may have been a “reap what you sew” type of situation.

Whereas BP is blaming and tossing accusations at us for our relatively good association with Yaks. Again my suspicions are that BP put themselves directly or indirectly in the situation they found themselves in within League, and are currently sore at having to taste their own foot for whatever actions caused their poor PR with Yaks.

Since there’s verbal patterns and inflections that are typically particular to either gender. Regardless of how careful one is, slip-ups happen.

BP only really tried hard the first 2 days of the matchup (Friday and Saturday). Once we secured a 30k lead after those 2 days, we stopped caring.

And I don’t blame them. Your commanders have been doing a good job upgrading, defending and hitting other BLs to make it seem like your server isn’t taking a break.

Not too surprising. One of the things that League did to change us was to alter our perspective on priorities. We’re far more defensive than we used to be. Our primary BL Commanders in particular are kinds of cray about keep upkeep whenever it’s possible.

And that would be 10 ac, 5 ballista, 3 trebs, cannons, oil. (All regular siege)

BP only really tried hard the first 2 days of the matchup (Friday and Saturday). Once we secured a 30k lead after those 2 days, we stopped caring.

The running rumor is that any Sentinel’s armor dropped in there can be salvaged to get the exotic Sentinel’s insigs. I’m trying to prove or disprove that rumor, though wondering if it’s fact just based on that they have once again begun trickling into the TP averaging 70-80 gold each.

We use siege because it works, and BP lost all day on our BL due to it. Thanks for the bags. Teldec and Goldiy did an amazing job today in Home BL.
